I would meet him frequently in Gujarat when I was the CM. We would exchange views on diverse issues. New Delhi, Prime Minister <keyword id="19962578" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shri-narendra-modi" source="keywords">Shri Narendra Modi</keyword> will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation around 2,000 railway infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 41,000 crore on Monday. The event will be held at 12:30 p.m. via video conferencing. In a post on X, <keyword id="19899320" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pm-modi" source="keywords">PM Modi</keyword> said, "Today is a historic day for our Railways! At 12:30 PM, 2000 railway infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 41,000 crores will be dedicated to the nation. "In order to enhance the travel experience, 553 stations will be redeveloped under the <keyword id="20270535" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="amrit-bharat-station-scheme" source="keywords">Amrit Bharat Station Scheme</keyword>. The foundation stones for these stations would be laid. Overbridges and underpasses across India will also be inaugurated. "These works will further 'Ease of Living' for the people." In a major step to provide world class amenities at railway stations, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for redevelopment of 553 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These stations, spread across 27 states and Union Territories, will be redeveloped at a cost of over Rs 19,000 crore. These stations will act as 'City Centres' integrating both sides of the city. They will have modern passenger amenities like roof plaza, beautiful landscaping, inter modal connectivity, improved modern facade, kids play area, kiosks, food courts, etc. They will be redeveloped as environment friendly and also <keyword id="20109552" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="divyang" source="keywords">Divyang</keyword> friendly. The design of these station buildings will be inspired by local culture, heritage and architecture. Further, the Prime Minister will inaugurate <keyword id="20727159" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gomti-nagar" source="keywords">Gomti Nagar</keyword> station in Uttar Pradesh which has been redeveloped at a total cost of around Rs 385 crore. To cater to the increased future passenger footfall, this station has segregated arrival and departure facilities. It integrates both sides of the city. This centrally air-conditioned station has modern passenger amenities like Air Concourse, congestion free circulation, food courts and ample parking space in upper and lower basement. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation 1500 Road Over Bridges and Underpasses. These Road Over Bridges and Underpasses spread across 24 states and Union Territories, the total cost of these projects is around Rs 21,520 crore. These projects will reduce congestion, enhance safety and connectivity, improve capacity, and efficiency of rail travel.

The Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuk Mother and Child Hospital is a state-of-the-art 150-bedded facility that has been built with the assistance of the Government of India in Thimphu. India has supported the development of the hospital in two phases. The first phase was constructed at a cost of Rs 22 crore and has been operational since 2019. The construction of the second phase was taken up in 2019, as part of the 12th Five Year Plan at a cost of Rs 119 crore, and was completed recently, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release. It said that the newly constructed hospital would add value to the quality of mother and child health services in Bhutan. The new facility will house state-of-the-art facilities for Pediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Anesthesiology, Operation Theatre, Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric Intensive Care. "The Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuk Mother and Child Hospital stands as a shining example of India-Bhutan partnership in health care," it added. "Bhutan has been receiving a lot of support from India, especially in the health sector, starting from the three referral hospitals and also other health facilities," Bhutan Health Minister Tandin Wangchuk told PTI Videos. "It is an honour for us to have Shri Narendra Modi here, inaugurating the Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Mother and Child Hospital," he said, adding that this hospital is purely dedicated to the mothers and the children of Bhutan. He added that there is a proposal for a cancer hospital which will come up on this campus only. "We are referring all the cancer patients to India. So after the completion of the cancer hospital, I think this will also enhance the tertiary care of health services in Bhutan," he added. Modi, who arrived in Bhutan on Friday for a two-day State visit to further cement India's unique relations with the <keyword id="19964652" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="himalayan" source="keywords">Himalayan</keyword> nation, called on the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and held talks with Prime Minister Tobgay on Friday. Bhutan's King Wangchuck conferred the 'Order of the Druk Glyalpo' to Prime Minister Modi at a public ceremony here on Friday, making him the first foreign Head of the Government to receive the honour. The award recognises Prime Minister Modi's contribution to strengthening the India-Bhutan friendship and his people-centric leadership. "It is with great humility that I accept the Order of the Druk Gyalpo. I am grateful to HM the King of Bhutan for presenting the Award. I dedicate it to the 140 crore people of India. I am also confident that India-Bhutan relations will keep growing and benefit our citizens," Modi wrote in a post on X on Friday night. India and Bhutan established diplomatic relations in 1968. The basic framework of India- Bhutan relations has been the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation signed in 1949 between the two countries, which was revised in February 2007. PM Modi inaugurates modern hospital built with Indian assistance in Bhutan

The US remains the top destination for <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>'s engineering goods exports in the financial year 2022-23 with total shipments value recording 6.8 per cent year-on-year growth to USD 18.67 billion. The other key markets, which registered positive growth, include the UK, Germany, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Indonesia. Exports of engineering goods to China continued a downward trend month after month. In FY23, engineering shipments to China fell by 52.4 per cent year-on-year to USD 2.63 billion from USD 5.53 billion in the previous year. The other top markets that recorded negative growth during the year included UAE, Turkey, and Thailand. After reaching their all-time high at USD 112.16 billion during fiscal 2021-22, engineering exports from India finished fiscal 2022-23 at USD 107.04 billion, a decline of 4.57 per cent. In terms of the <keyword id="6355302" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="rupee" source="Orion">rupee</keyword>, however, engineering exports recorded 2.77 per cent growth year-on-year. This disparity was due to the substantial year-on-year depreciation of the rupee vis-a-vis the US Dollar in 2022-23. Geo-political crisis in the CIS region led by the Russia-Ukraine war, the economic slowdown in North-East Asia especially China, the crisis in South-East Asia, and the slowdown in Europe are the major factors responsible for the lower shipment of engineering goods from India during FY23. "The decline was a direct result of the depressed global demand, especially in the metal sector. FY23 in general has been a difficult year for global trade. While the end of FY22 marked the recovery from the COVID pandemic it was soon overshadowed by the Russia-Ukraine crisis which dented the European and Central Asian economies to a significant extent," said EEPC India Chairman Arun Kumar Garodia. He further said the decline could have been sharper if timely government measures had not been made. "We appreciate the efforts made by the Ministry of Commerce which has always been forthcoming in coming up with relief measures. Besides, the encouraging words by Hon'ble Prime Minister <keyword id="2082035" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="shri-narendra-modi" source="Orion">Shri Narendra Modi</keyword> have had a catalytic effect. According to the Quick Estimates of the Commerce ministry of the Central government, the share of engineering exports in India's total merchandise exports during fiscal 2022-23 was 23.92 per cent as against a higher 26.58 per cent in fiscal 2021-22. Panel-wise analysis showed that out of 34 engineering panels, 22 recorded growth in exports during 2022-23 while 12 conceded a decline in shipment. <keyword id="953254" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="iron-and-steel" source="Orion">Iron and steel</keyword> were the main spoilsports behind the decline in engineering exports with a 41.52 per cent decline in exports during 2022-23 over the previous fiscal. Excluding the iron and steel panel, engineering exports in 2022-23 recorded 4.91 per cent growth over the previous fiscal. Among the major panels, 'Motor Vehicles/Cars', 'Products of Iron and Steel', 'Electric Machinery and Equipment', 'Industrial Machinery', "Medical and Scientific Instruments', 'Ships, Boats, and <keyword id="1992685" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="floating-structures" source="Orion">Floating Structures</keyword>' and 'Auto Components/Parts' recorded higher shipments over the previous fiscal while basic metals like Iron &amp; Steel, 'Aluminium and products' and 'Copper and Products' recorded a decline in shipments. Indian engineering exports continued to decline for the fifth straight month to March 2023 and for eight months in fiscal 2022-23. During March 2023, engineering exports declined by 7.49 per cent to USD 10.19 billion from USD 11.01 billion in March 2022. As many as 16 out of 34 engineering panels witnessed positive year-on-year growth in March 2023, while the remaining 18 panels witnessed negative growth in exports. Major engineering products like Iron and Steel, Products of Iron and Steel, Aluminium and products, Industrial Machinery, Electrical Machinery and Equipment, Two and Three wheelers, Bicycle parts, Auto Tyres, and Hand tools witnessed a decline in exports during March 2023 vis-a-vis March 2022. Excluding the export of iron and steel, engineering exports recorded a 3.26 per cent year-on-year decline in March 2023. Global trade sentiments continue to remain bleak, WTO economists in April 2023 said in a new forecast that merchandise trade is expected to grow 1.7 per cent as against 2.7 per cent last year. The subpar performance will be mainly due to the Ukraine crisis, high inflation, tighter monetary policy, and financial market uncertainty. India's export of engineering goods to US grows by 6.8%, China's falls by 52.4%

The Prime Minister reached Ayodhya earlier in the day to take part in the auspicious ceremony. Prime Minister will interact with shramjeevis associated with the construction of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir. He will also visit the Kuber Tila, where the ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv has been restored. The magnificent Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir is constructed in traditional Nagara style. Its length (east-west) is 380 feet; width 250 feet and height is 161 feet; and is supported by a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors. The pillars and walls of the temple showcase intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses. In the main sanctum sanctorum at ground floor, the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram (the idol of Shri Ramlalla) has been placed. The main entrance to the Mandir is situated on the eastern side, which can be approached by ascending 32 stairs through the Singh Dwar. There are a total of five Mandaps (Halls) in the Mandir - Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prathana Mandap and Kirtan Mandap. Near the Mandir is a historic Well (Sita koop), dating back to the ancient era. In the southwestern part of the Mandir complex, at Kuber Tila, the ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv has been restored, along with the installation of a statue of Jatayu. The foundation of the Mandir has been constructed with a 14-meter- thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), giving it the appearance of artificial rock. No iron is used anywhere in the Mandir. For protection against ground moisture, a 21-foot-high plinth has been constructed using granite. The Mandir complex has a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, water supply for fire safety and an independent power station. The Mandir has been constructed employing the country's traditional and indigenous technology.

PM Modi participates in Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ram Temple in Ayodhya

"Our family is deeply saddened to inform you that <keyword id="20281058" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="manohar-joshi" source="keywords">Manohar Joshi</keyword> passed away today morning at 3 a.m. following prolonged age related health issues," his family said in a terse announcement at dawn. Joshi, 86, was rushed to the Hinduja Hospital in Mahim after suffering a heart attack late on Thursday. 'Sir', as he was popular in political circles because of his teaching background and a stern demeanour, succumbed during treatment around 3 a.m., plunging the state political fraternity into gloom. His family said that Joshi's mortal remains will be kept at their home in Matunga to enable people to pay their last respects from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and then taken in a procession for the funeral at Dadar Crematorium around 3 p.m. One of the closest confidantes of the late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, Joshi had over six decades in politics starting as a Municipal Corporator, then Mayor, Maharashtra CM, Union Minister, then crowning glory as the Speaker of Lok Sabha. Joshi had been suffering from certain old-age related ailments for the past several months and largely kept out of public glare, but remained with the SS-UBT, till he breathed his last. Top leaders across the political spectrum have paid rich tributes to Joshi who headed the first-ever saffron government in the state comprising the undivided Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (1995-1999), in an era when politics was more principled and less unscrupulous. Prime Minister <keyword id="19895781" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="keywords">Narendra Modi</keyword> condoled the demise of the veteran leader. Manohar Joshi: The 'Sir' with a stern demeanour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, congratulated Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) Governor, Shaktikanta Das for bagging an A+ grade rating in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2024. Prime Minister in a post on social media "X" said, "Congratulations to RBI Governor Shri @DasShaktikanta for this feat, and that too for the second time. Announcing the monetary policy decisions, Das had said that the decision to keep the repo rate steady comes amidst persistent concerns about inflation, which remains above the RBI's target range. RBI Governor Das said that the inflation will moderate from July onwards as the monsoon has improved and global food prices have shown signs of easing in July. The Q1 <keyword id="19999655" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Consumer-Price-Index" source="keywords">Consumer Price Index</keyword> (CPI) inflation for the current financial year (2024-25) is projected at 4.5 per cent. CPI inflation for the first quarter of the next financial year (Q1 2025-26) is projected at 4.4 per cent, as announced by the RBI Governor. India's retail inflation, after breaching 5 per cent in June, softened drastically in July. In line with the moderation in retail inflation, wholesale inflation in India too witnessed a sharp decline in July. The annual rate of inflation based on all India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) numbers is 2.04 per cent (provisional) for July 2024 (over July 2023).
