Jamnagar (Gujarat) [India], February 28 (ANI): The pre-wedding festivities of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh <keyword id="19898589" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ambani" source="keywords">Ambani</keyword>'s youngest son Anant Ambani, who is set to tie the knot with industrialist Viren Merchant's daughter, Radhika Merchant, have started with 'anna seva'. At Jogwad village near Reliance Township in Jamnagar, Mukesh Ambani, Anant Amband other members of the Ambani family, including Radhika Merchant, served traditional Gujarati food to the villagers. Radhika's maternal grandmother and parents - Viren and Shaila Merchant - also took part in the 'anna seva'. Food will be served to about 51,000 local residents, which will continue for the next few days. The Ambani family has organized 'anna seva' to seek the blessings of the local community for the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. After the meal, the attendees enjoyed traditional folk music. Famous Gujarati singer Kirtidan Gadhvi stole the show with his singing. Sharing food is an old tradition in the Ambani family. The Ambani family has been serving food on auspicious family occasions. When the country was grappling with coronavirus pandemic, Reliance Foundation, under the leadership of Anant Ambani's mother Nita Ambani, ran a large food distribution programme. Taking forward the family tradition, Anant Ambani has started his pre-wedding functions with anna seva. The pre-wedding functions are expected to be traditional and grand. Guests will get to experience the beauty of Indian culture at the pre-wedding festivities. The guests at the occasion will receive traditional scarves made by women artisans from Kachchh and Lalpur in Gujarat. "These women pour their hearts and souls into the craft, preserving age-old techniques and breathing life into stories as ancient as the land itself. Swadesh is empowering communities and preserving age-old craftsmanship," Reliance Foundation captioned the post. Ushering in the much-awaited wedding, the Ambani family has also facilitated the construction of new temples within a sprawling temple complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Featuring intricately carved pillars, sculptures of Gods and Goddesses, fresco-style paintings, and architecture inspired by generations of artistic heritage, the temple complex keeps India's rich cultural and spiritual identity at the heart of the wedding festivities. Brought to life by master sculptors, the temple art employs age-old techniques and traditions. The initiative highlights the incredible skills of local artisans, reflecting Nita Ambani's vision of preserving and promoting Indian heritage, tradition and culture. Anant and Radhika got engaged in a traditional ceremony in January 2023 at the family's residence Antilia in Mumbai. Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani, the three children of Mukesh-Nita Ambani, have been closely involved with and are leading and managing key businesses of RIL over the last few years including retail, digital services and energy and materials businesses. They also serve on the boards of the key subsidiaries of Reliance Industries. While Isha M Ambani has been driving the expansion of Reliance Retail, Akash M. Ambani is serving as the Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) since June 2022 and Anant M Ambani is driving the expansion of energy and materials businesses of Reliance Industries. Isha and Akash got married in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Anant Ambani is also involved with several compassionate initiatives to rehabilitate at-risk animals and provide them care and dignity in their residual life. Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding celebrations begin with 'anna seva'

For the third consecutive year, Texas Executive Education at The McCombs School of Business hosted 50 students from the Indian Institute of Management in Indore. 
 <keyword id="150302" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIM-Indore">IIM Indore</keyword>, a top-five business school located in Madhya Pradesh, sent their best and brightest for a five-week Custom Program focused on analytics for business excellence. The students from the <keyword id="1161218" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Executive-Post-Graduate-Programme">Executive Post Graduate Programme</keyword> in Management of IIM Indore also brought laurels to their institute by winning various competitions which were organized in Red McCombs School of Business. 
 EPGP participant <keyword id="3821817" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ayush-khaitan">Ayush Khaitan</keyword> participated in a <keyword id="1604076" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="hackathon">Hackathon</keyword> and his team won the 2nd prize. Hackathon is a competition which requires coming up with a working solution to some existing problem using an existing technology, in a limited time. This Hackathon was organised by Moovel, a subsidiary of well-known Diamler Group. Ayush participated in the 48 hour non-stop session which required the use of technology to solve a problem in the mobility domain. 
 
Participants also took part in an IIM Indore/UT Austin Social Media Analytics Challenge 2016. Social Media Analytics is an exciting new field which can help a marketer in many ways such as planning a marketing campaign, predicting an election’s result, forecasting sales using the data from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Akhil Jhingan, Anjani Kumar Sinha, Anupam Singh, Himanshu Makkar, Gaurav Tyagi and Eshana G won the first prize in the challenge. They presented their work on giving suggestions to HR for an enhanced employee satisfaction, IIM Indore officials said. 
 Ankur Jain, Gourav Arora, Samir Singh, Shantanu Roy, Vaibhav Agarwal and <keyword id="2089006" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vaibhav-Singhal">Vaibhav Singhal</keyword> won the second prize in the event. They worked on designing a social media campaign for a hypothetical political party for upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. 
 
Another team comprising of Himanshu Bhatia, Rupak Laskar, Kirthirani, Prashant Mishra and Sandeep Reddy bagged ‘honourable mention award’ in the event and they analysed the dynamics of start-up culture in India. 
 
Notably. IIM-Indore has a tie-up with McCombs School of Business, wherein the EPGP participants complete one semester while staying at the University campus and are taught by the some of the most imminent professors.

For startups to grow they must garner funds from investors; and to gather funds, startups need to have a robust product-market fit along with a promising team and a solid business plan with the potential to scale. Then comes the role of angel investors and <keyword id="6357097" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="venture-capital">Venture Capital</keyword> (VC) <keyword id="6357455" type="EVENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Funding">funding</keyword> that usually surfaces when larger amounts are required to grow a business. 
 Lately, major <keyword id="982553" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indian-startups">Indian startups</keyword> have seen a tremendous boost from venture capitalists. To start with, we saw how Tiger Global Management, Softbank Corp., Morgan Stanley, Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners, IDG Ventures India and SAIF Partners managed to support promising Indian startups like that of Flipkart, Snapdeal, Ola, Zomato, ShopClues, Urban Ladder and many others. Moreover, it is not only the bigger firms who are eyeing VC funds, relatively younger and smaller firms like OYO Rooms, Swiggy and Grofers have also joined the race. 
 Apart from ruling the e-commerce and fashion industry, <keyword id="153868" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="VC-funding">VC funding</keyword> is now gradually moving into other sectors too, such as agriculture, healthcare and education. As per the data from the upcoming Wharton India Economic Forum (WIEF), which is all set to launch the Wharton India Startup Competition (WISC) with over 500 entries, though majority of applicants (around 25%) belong to the e-commerce industry, the healthcare segment is not far away with around 22% applicants. Moreover, most of the participating startups already have pre-seeded and seeded funding arrangements and around 31% of them have listed themselves as social enterprises. 
 
The ecosystem for VC funding for Indian startups would be discussed at length at the Wharton India Economic Forum (WIEF). WIEF is a two-day event starting from January 6, 2017, which will bring together the best entrepreneurs, investors, distinguished Wharton faculty, students and inspirational speakers. Attendees will not only have numerous opportunities for interaction and networking across the board but will also witness in-depth discussions in terms of understanding the evolving business landscape in India and the need for business model innovation from the government, various industry leaders, and distinguished Wharton faculty. 
 
The relevance of this summit doesn’t end there. It is also known for hosting the Wharton India Startup Competition (WISC) which is giving Indian startups the opportunity to present themselves in front of an esteemed panel of judges and also win cash prizes of over $25,000 and unparalleled mentorship of up to 4 months from some of the most renowned names in the industry on strategy and funding. The jury for WISC comprises top-notch personalities with the likes of Bharati Jacob (Co-founder of Seedfund), Nipun Mehra (Investor at Sequoia Capital India), Rehan Yar Khan (Managing Partner of Orios Venture Partners), Tarun Davda (Managing Director of Matrix Partners), Aditya Nair (Investor at Nyca Partners), Ajay Hattangdi (CEO India &amp; Group COO of InnoVen Capital Group), Ankit Shah (Vice President at Unilazer Ventures), Sameer Verma (Director &amp; Junior Partner of Nexus Venture Partners), Saurabh Joshi (Strategy Manager at PayPal) and Shantanu Gangal (Head – Analytics at Fundbox).
