New Delhi [India], February 26 (<keyword id="19904948" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ani" source="keywords">ANI</keyword>): Passenger vehicle volume is expected to ascend to a new peak for the third straight time next financial year, growing 5-7 per cent on a high base of 6-8 per cent estimated for the current year ending March 2024, according to <keyword id="19955699" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="crisil-ratings" source="keywords">Crisil Ratings</keyword>. This ascend is expected as sport utility vehicles (SUVs) race ahead even as demand for cars and exports remain muted. Healthy volume growth of the SUV segment, which enjoys higher margin, will steer an improvement in operating margin to 11.5-12.5 per cent next financial year, the rating agency said on Monday. Better cash generation, along with strong balance sheet and robust liquidity will support funding of sizeable capital expenditure to set up additional capacity, keeping credit profiles of passenger vehicle makers stable, the agency said. A significant change in consumer preference has cranked up demand for SUVs leading to its market share doubling to 60 per cent of total domestic volume this fiscal from 28 per cent before the pandemic in fiscal 2019. This preference is expected to further grow backed by a healthy pipeline of new model launches across price points, including electric variants, and normalised availability of semiconductors after a prolonged period of short supply. "While the overall PV volume is seen rising 5-7 per cent next fiscal, we expect demand for SUVs to accelerate at twice the pace at over 12 per cent driven by array of feature-laden launches at competitive price points, varied technology options including hybrid and electric, and increased access to credit," said <keyword id="19898319" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="anuj-sethi" source="keywords">Anuj Sethi</keyword>, Senior Director, CRISIL Ratings. In contrast, demand for cars is seen slowing this fiscal too due to the ongoing weakness in the rural market and lower affordability at the entry level. The cost of vehicles has risen in the past 3-4 years as manufacturers have been passing on higher commodity prices and have had to comply with more stringent regulations on safety and emissions. The situation is similar on the exports front. The share of passenger exports is estimated to have slowed to 14 per cent this fiscal compared with 17 per cent in fiscal 2019, mainly due to inflationary headwinds and limited availability of foreign exchange in key export markets -- <keyword id="19968988" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="latin-america" source="keywords">Latin America</keyword>, south-east <keyword id="19915288" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="asia" source="keywords">Asia</keyword> and Africa -- in the past two years. "This trend is expected to continue next fiscal," Crisil Ratings said. But increasing share of SUVs with higher realisations, along with stable commodity prices and full benefit of price hikes executed last fiscal have resulted in operating margin expansion of manufacturers by 200 basis points (100 basis points is equal to 1 percentage point) to 11.0 per cent this fiscal. CRED identified this gap and consolidated them all under one platform, for a small commission. The next market that’s desperately in need of an aggregation is the OTT market – which has over <a href="https://www.exchange4media.com/digital-news/ht-medias-ott-play-premium-service-eyes-15-million-paid-subs-by-year-end-120746.html">55 </a>offerings. “The largest streaming services in the market are Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon and Netflix. The country also has a vast array of smaller local SVODs, including provisions from local broadcasters like Zee TV and premium cinema providers like Eros Now. Due to its size and diversity, the market is ripe for aggregation,” says a report by PwC. Many streaming services, many more subscriptions Apart from the national offerings, Indian OTTs have become specialized and niche over time with regional offerings like Hoichoi, Aha, Sun Nxt and more. Since more expansion is expected in the market, an aggregator who would bring the best and offer it under one roof is in the offing. In fact, <keyword id="758541" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="amazon-prime" source="Orion">Amazon Prime</keyword> has also started this with Prime Video Channels but has eight channels that users can subscribe to and pay at one go. Such offerings can only expand from here. Most <keyword id="13730389" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ott-users" source="Orion">OTT users</keyword> have more than 2 subscriptions According to media consulting firm Ormax Media, the average number of video streaming subscriptions per person has reached 2.4 in India – since no one OTT can replace what hundreds of channels provided earlier. Currently, platforms like Tata Play, OTTplay, YuppTV Scope, ScreenHits TV and Airtel offer subscriptions to a few OTT services under one roof – but the choice, like in the case of Amazon Prime, is limited. Times Prime offers 15+ OTT subscriptions under one roof. "We are pulling out all the stops to ensure that our members get the best experiences under one umbrella. The Times Prime app, which is super easy to use, is the perfect product for consumption of content in today's subscription environment," says Harshita Singh, business head of Times Prime. 33-year-old Mumbai resident Khushboo Alag watches content across four <keyword id="5293670" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ott-platforms" source="Orion">OTT platforms</keyword>. She has subscribed to two of them, and shares two more with her family. “I have tried a couple of aggregators but I haven’t found the one yet that offers personalized experience. Existing apps haven’t been helpful and I am still looking for that one space where I could just log in to watch all the content that I am interested in,” says Alag. Some entertainment lovers have bought a smart television or a firestick to easily juggle through different OTT platforms on their television set. Firestick is just not enough, say users Vaamanaa Sethi, a Delhi-based resident, is one such user who has access to Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix and ZEE5 — thanks to her firestick. “We need an aggregator that can allow us to select which movie we want to watch under one roof. If I want to watch a movie and it is not available on Netflix, then I can easily switch to Amazon Prime. I don’t want to struggle,” says Sethi. Then there is the problem of managing and paying multiple subscriptions. Chaittali Dave, a Mumbai resident who is a mother of twins, said that she can’t watch OTT content on her television set. She is hoping to find a mobile-agnostic aggregator. “I can’t watch Mirzapur on television in front of my kids. You can use a firestick or Tata Play if you live with a nuclear family,” says Dave. 23-year-old Mumbai resident Shraddha Khaire is particularly a movie buff. She has subscribed to 6-8 OTT apps and says that it has been a frustrating experience for her to pay a premium price for one movie. “There have been times that I had to subscribe to a whole new OTT just to watch that one show or movie, and let’s not forget the premium charges for the same,” shared Khaire. Her experience with teleco aggregators hasn’t been very pleasant either. She hopes a new aggregator will make the whole experience very seamless, simple and efficient for me as a regular user of various OTTs, such as her. “There will be a single sign-up, single ID for accessing multiple platforms. While telcos like Jio and Airtel, DTH services like Tata Sky, etc., offer an array of OTT services, but you need a connection to these services to access the OTTs. Overall, I think if there was a platform that offered access to a bundle of more streaming services, I wouldn’t mind going for it,” adds Khaire. Most of the students get Indian internships and get a flavour of working for Indian companies and then go back to their home country for work. The most amazing fact is they are the first to get jobs when they head back home as they have a unique perspective which makes them stand out. 
 
However this fascinating story isn’t without challenges. “The current challenge is the registration process which is a bit cumbersome once they arrive in India. Also the work visa process is difficult to navigate. I believe that companies should be allowed to determine competitive wage levels which are mutually agreeable between the employee and the organisation,” suggested Anand. 
 
The existing bills that restrict foreign student entry into India needs to be modified. Thousands of International students go to China for this very purpose and now that the Chinese economy is slowing down with a potential hard landing it would be great to see the government proactively attracting global students. 
 
“We will get much needed foreign exchange and it will lead to Indian students staying back in India as they will get a multi cultural experience in India itself leading them to taking decisions to stay back in India. This will save a large part of the USD 5 billion leaving the country every year and the brain drain,” Anand added.

For the uninitiated, this New Delhi-based startup has tied up with hotels. Unmarried couples can rent rooms here for a duration as short as 8-10 hours. The idea here is to help them find affordable accommodation, minus the judgmental stares. 
 
My chap arrives. Nope, nothing like Hollywood. No hoodies, no hesitation, no mystery music in the background. He’s a 16 year old school kid. I offer him a seat, positively shocked. What followed would make for a killer film-script.

 This lad had taken down more sites than he can recall. I ask him how it feels to work as an online mercenary, accepting money from anonymous clients. “It’s common in the field of <keyword id="6357115" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="hacking">hacking</keyword>. My targets are usually individual sites. They run on free hosting. This was the first business site I took down.” 
 
While this may startle most of us, he says getting these 'assignments' isn't really tough, mentioning a forum where such work is readily available, <a href="http://hackforums.net/">HackForums</a>. It’s an online forum to connect with a '<a href="http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=h4x0r">h4x0r</a>' (hacker). Drop in a message. Someone accepts your assignment. Once the job is done, you pay the money. This is one among hundreds of such forums, and it’s not even Darknet. 
 
“Everybody is anonymous. People are known only by their usernames. I typically never disclose my number. I just do my initial research, and quote the price. This guy asked if I was Indian, and then for my contact number.” 
 StayUncle founder-CEO <keyword id="3320069" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Sanchit-Sethi">Sanchit Sethi</keyword> confirms the incident. “It was 18th of April this year. I got a call from a hacker. He admitted to taking our site down, and that he was hired by one of our competitors. He said they might do it again.” 
 
Well, they did. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=StayUncle&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">StayUncle</a>’s website was pulled down by another brute-force attack a month and a half back. 
 
“We were going crazy. Finally, I asked help from one of my cousins, a senior tech guy. He found all our ports were shut down, our securities disabled. Thankfully, our database was safe. Somebody clearly hacked into our systems again”, Sethi says. 
 
This isn't the first time. App-based taxi hailing service <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Ola&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Ola</a> was allegedly hacked by a group by the name ‘TeamUnknown’. <keyword id="6354720" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ola">Ola</keyword> denied its database was ever breached and that any hacker group ever contacted them. It did admit though that the test server, which is used internally, had been hacked. In recent months, hackers have exploited security flaws in several other Indian startups including online restaurant search provider <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Zomato&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Zomato</a> and music streaming app Gaana. Most Indian startups still remain apprehensive of ethical hackers. 
 
My guest says brute-force attacks don’t help now. “A <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Paytm&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Paytm</a>, Flipkart or <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Snapdeal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Snapdeal</a> has multiple servers. If one goes down, the other takes off. That’s server rotation. If you don’t have a lot of servers, you can’t take down theirs”, he observes. 
 
The hour seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. My guest stood up to leave. We shook hands and parted. 
 
A simple Google search will reveal a breeding ground for script kiddies. Most have little knowledge of the tools they use or how they work. These are ready-made and easily-found tools on the internet that can do some serious harm. The more hardcore ones can dedicate hours a day scanning the internet for computers that are vulnerable to a security hole. They can then exploit that and use what is known as a 'rootkit' to give them 'root' (or total control) over a computer. 
 
With the likes of Ola and Paytm waking up to the value of bug bounty programmes, denial seems to be in the air. As evening fell, I couldn’t help but feel worried. 
 
In an age where you can set up shop at the touch of a button, that’s all it takes to bring down one as well. A guy, a laptop, and 5000 bucks.

But, if your plans are the same, maintaining your goals is important, even if it's harder to stay motivated. </li><li><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance?hprecirc-bullet">Read more personal finance coverage »</a></li></ul>When stock markets are down, it can send ripples through the economy, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/when-the-market-falls-things-that-get-easier">affecting everything from interest rates to your 401(k) balance.</a>The coronavirus has added an extra layer of uncertainty for many investors. "Even if you understand completely that markets go up and markets go down, and that in the long run, things will be okay, I think there's this overriding uncertainty at the moment," says Howard Hook, a financial planner with EKS Associates in Princeton, New Jersey. When markets fall, it can get harder to stay the course on your goals and keep doing things the way you always have, even though it's still important. If your goals haven't changed, your actions shouldn't either. Here are three things that get harder, but are still important:<h2>1. Investing</h2>Once you have an investment plan, it's important to stick to it, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/robo-adviser-investing-during-market-downturn-volatility">even when the markets drop</a>. "I think it's very hard for most people to look at this as a buying opportunity," Hook says. In a sense, a market that's fallen can act like a sale, allowing you to buy stocks for less. "Lower prices, in essence, will result in buying more shares," Hook says. "You may wind up with more money down the road because you've bought more shares at a lower price." Continuing to invest is important, even when markets are constantly up and down. If you're worried about it, stick with a conservative investing method like dollar-cost averaging, where money is invested at regular intervals to offset market ups and downs. There's one exception to the keep-investing rule: If you don't have a full emergency fund, consider leaving your existing investments where they are and diverting extra cash you have right now into an emergency fund in case of job loss or a medical emergency during this unusual time. Personal finance expert and "<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Will-Teach-You-Rich-Second-ebook/dp/B07GNXPP4P" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">I Will Teach You To Be Rich</a>" author <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/financial-expert-no-emergency-fund-dont-invest-stock-market-down">Ramit Sethi said in a "fireside chat"</a> that having stable cash reserves that could last for six to 12 months should be a bigger priority than possibly making gains in the market. <h2>2. Saving for retirement</h2>Investments are a big factor in many retirement savings plans. When markets are down, your 401(k) might appear smaller as well. When that happens, staying motivated to save can be tough - especially when you aren't seeing the increases you're used to. For younger people who still have many years for their savings to grow, a few down years in the stock market shouldn't cause huge problems for your 401(k), as long as it stays invested. However, other groups may not be so lucky. "It could affect people that have been building a nest egg for retirement and then are now approaching retirement," says Hook. If you've seen your retirement savings crushed by the markets and you're approaching retirement, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/what-to-do-if-retiring-soon-and-your-investments-have-dropped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">selling off assets should be a last resort</a>. In either situation, seeing your account values stagnate or drop can be discouraging. But, a few down weeks or even years in the market shouldn't ruin your plan if you stick to it, even for those who are nearing retirement."When you retire, it's not like you're taking every last dollar out of the 401(k) to spend at 65 or 70. A 65-year-old retiring has got a good chance that they're going to need that money for the next 25 years," he says. Since retirement accounts are drawn on for many years, a bad quarter for your investments shouldn't hurt your retirement plan. Continuing with your usual saving and investing will help you come out of the downturn without too much damage, if not for the better. <h2>3. Making money grow</h2>Several months ago, it was easier to make money grow, quite simply because <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/why-open-high-yield-savings-account-now-interest-rates-down">interest rates were higher</a>. A major change in the stock market's performance can mean a change in the Federal Funds Rate, which controls all the interest rates around saving and spending. After a series of interest rate cuts, new money going into CDs and high-yield savings account balances will earn less interest than it would have several months ago. You might notice your accounts that once earned lots of interest growing slower. But, that <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/opened-high-yield-savings-account-interest-rates-fell">doesn't mean that you should stop saving</a>. Now's the time to remember what you're saving for, and automate your savings to keep your accounts growing automatically.
