<p><keyword id="6357837" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Kim-Kardashian">Kim Kardashian</keyword> hit the gym on Saturday "<span>Getting right for the new year" </span>with pal Blac Chyna and the two decided to <keyword id="1725157" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Selfie">selfie</keyword> the aftermath.</p>

<p><span>The posts went viral, getting about <em>half a million</em> "likes" each.</span></p>
<p><span>But not everyone was a fan of the new mom's revealing selfie. Many critics quickly noticed that something was off in the second booty selfie.</span></p>
<p><span><span><keyword id="6597155" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Photoshop">Photoshop</keyword> expert Peeje T told </span><a href="http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2014/01/kim-kardashian-instagram-pics-photoshopped-say-experts/">Radar Online</a> the image was clearly "manipulated."</span></p>
<p>He explained that the curved doorframe in the picture is a dead giveaway. "You can definitely see a gap at the same level as Kim's chest. This would be caused by using a tool to expand her breasts."</p>
<p>"There also seems to be a more subtle distortion on the floor," Peeje added to Radar, "You might notice how it follows the same contortion as Kim's waist and hips."</p>
<p>He added that in a second picture, it appears Kim has digitally pulled in her waistline.</p>
<p>After heavily debating the issue, <a href="http://nymag.com/thecut/2014/01/did-kim-kardashian-photoshop-her-butt-selfie.html" target="_blank">The Cut</a> included this GIF that helps prove Kim manipulated the image. Watch the mirror in the the back:</p>

The Internet Totally Called Out Kim Kardashian For Photoshopping Her Sexy Selfie

<ul><li><keyword id="819905" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="instagram" source="Orion">Instagram</keyword> has started asking users to verify their identity through video selfies.</li><li>This feature is aimed at tackling bots and fake accounts on Instagram.</li><li>But it looks like the face verification system isn’t very smart.</li></ul>Instagram wants to tackle fake profiles and bots through video selfies to verify accounts. This feature, as the name suggests, will require new users to verify their identity by taking a short selfie video. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/apps/news/instagram-reportedly-asking-users-for-video-selfies-to-verify-identity/articleshow/87750666.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink">Instagram</a> will then analyse the video to determine if you are a real person. This sounds like an effective way to deal with fake accounts but it looks like Instagram’s face detection system isn’t very smart yet. <br /><br />In a video shared by Alexander Chalkidis on YouTube, Instagram’s video selfie feature is seen being easily fooled by a Barbie doll. Chalkidis demonstrated using a Barbie doll for the selfie video where you basically have to move your face slowly in different directions to verify your identity. Once the video was recorded, Chalkidis submitted the video and Instagram verified it proving that Instagram’s face detection system can be fooled easily. <br /><br /><div type="Youtube" id="qJ-d6FRmOhQ" title="Instagram biometric fooled by female Barbie" thumbUrl="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/qJ-d6FRmOhQ/mqdefault.jpg"></div><br />Instagram also doesn’t take into account the gender of the account. This was tried again with a Barbie Ken doll and Instagram was successfully fooled again. It looks like there are still many loopholes with Instagram’s video selfie verification. This isn’t the first time Instagram introduced this feature. Last year when it launched video selfie verification, users complained that the app couldn’t verify their identity. <br /><br />The video selfie verification is a way for Instagram to tackle bot or fake accounts on the platform. If Instagram suspects a possible bot account that “likes lots of posts or follows a ton of accounts in a matter of seconds”, then it could be asked to verify through this feature. Instagram also said that its teams review video selfies, and that the videos are deleted within 30 days. Many of the tourists were using their phones, and very often their phone's front-facing cameras, to document themselves at this historical, solemn, location.</p>
<p>They were taking <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/twerk-and-selfie-added-to-oxford-dictionary-2013-8">selfies</a> at the Anne Frank Memorial. </p>
<p>Feifer, a senior editor at Fast Company, immediately sent himself a one-sentence email he would read when he returned to New York.</p>
<p>"Inappropriate selfies," the email read.</p>
<p><span>Initially, he thought about just sharing this observation on Twitter, but decided showing, and not telling, might be a better idea. Taking to Twitter, Feifer searched <span>for</span><span> the words "selfie" and "holocaust" or "9-11 Memorial", "Chernobyl", "The Berlin Wall".</span></span></p>
<p>Thus began <a href="http://selfiesatseriousplaces.tumblr.com/">"Selfies at Serious Places</a>", the tongue-in-cheek <keyword id="279713" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Tumblr">Tumblr</keyword> Feifer created yesterday afternoon to document his findings.</p>

<p>It was a trend: people, mostly young adults, were taking selfies at all of these places. </p>
<p>"Some of them were totally respectful, and I didn't use those," Feifer said in an interview with Business Insider. He went on to explain how there were people who were taking photos of themselves clearly just to show they had been there.</p>
<p>"Those people would stand by signs or descriptive plaques and not smile."</p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">But when it came to the many tasteless photos he saw where teenage girls were making the popular "kissy-face" (also known as "duck lips"), or young men throwing up the peace sign, </span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Feifer gave no pause to putting those on the Tumblr. He even began to search "selfie" and "funeral", "car crash", "house fire", finding similar results each time.</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">When asked if he planned on continuing the Tumblr, Feifer said he didn't think so.</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">"</span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">I really like the form of the single-topic Tumblr because there's something powerful in seeing the visual repetition of an idea," Feifer explained. "But now the statement has been made, and it's a pretty obvious one."</span></p>

This Tumblr Showcases The Kind Of People Who Take Selfies At The Anne Frank Memorial

<p>But not all selfies turn out as planned.</p>
<p>First, what <em>is</em> a selfie?</p>
<p>In short, it's a picture taken of a person by that person. </p>
<p>We've recently seen the Pope appear in his first selfie. <a href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/drugs-mule-peter-cavanagh-caught-2246435">A young man was also reportedly arrested</a> as a result of his selfie. </p>

The Craziest Moments Captured In Selfies

<p>What's not-so-fun, however, is finding that your personal photo has been given a complete makeover by someone else-who then reposts it without your permission. </p>
<p>That's what happened to Carrie Nelson, who <a href="http://www.thefrisky.com/author/carrie-nelson/" target="_blank">wrote on The Frisky about her experience with an Instagram account called Photoshop Fantasy</a>. </p>
<p>On Sunday, Nelson posted a selfie on <keyword id="819905" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Instagram">Instagram</keyword> and an account called <a href="http://instagram.com/photoshop_fantasy" target="_blank">Photoshop Fantasy</a> followed her shortly afterwards. When she checked out the account, she realized that it had taken her photo, edited it heavily, and then reposted to it's own account as a "Before and After."</p>
<p>The account's owner had erased her freckles, trimmed down her eyebrows, added makeup to her lips and eyes, and given her a slight Mona Lisa smile. </p>
<p><span>"I was angry that I was made to look like something other than myself, and I was angry that my photo was stolen and appropriated without permission," Nelson writes. </span></p>
<p>The account has posted 10 other makeovers, though it's unclear how many of the pictures were used without permission (you can submit your picture for use by tagging it #PsFantasy and one user thanked the account in the <a href="http://instagram.com/p/hGutZOlQ_z/" target="_blank">picture's comment section</a>).</p>

<p><span>ThirdLove uses image recognition and human voice commands to take you through the process of snapping two pictures of your breasts, one from the front and the other from the side. You wear a tank top while taking the photos. In just a few moments, the app process the photos and gives you a size number - something like TG431 - specific to the fit of one of their custom bras.</span></p>
<p><a href="http://techcrunch.com/2013/11/07/thirdlove-bra-app/">According to TechCrunch,</a> <span>ThirdLove makes its bras in Mexico, and some of the production will eventually be moving to China.</span></p>

This App Can Find Your True Bra Size By Taking Two Selfies Of Your Breasts

<p>If you hate Instagram photo filters, you're going to hate <a href="http://www.facetuneapp.com/?circlesphotos=-ver1&amp;utm_expid=68415102-3.-WF5IZ50QIiqEjp4wgjlJQ.1&amp;utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F">a new app that let's you airbrush your face</a> to doll-like perfection. </p>
<p>Filters, which make everything from food to faces look - let's face it - so much better, have become ingrained in the social media routine of taking and posting photos to various mediums. </p>
<p>Just check out this before and after photo I took of the Freedom Tower in New York last week. To get the photo on the right, I pushed the contrast button and used a filter called "Rise":</p>

Now with a few clicks and a swipe or two, you can see for yourself. </p>

When I showed them the above photo of Miller, most all of them said they had "something on their phones that could do that".</p>
<p>"I use an app like that all of the time, but if you use too many features you just look fake," one of the girls told me, agreeing with Miller's sentiments.</p>
<p>"The trick," a girl named Sophie chimed in, "is to make it look like you didn't Photoshop your face at all. You just want to look natural. So usually I'll only whiten my teeth or something, and then I'll put another filter on it in Insta[gram]."</p>
<p>She paused.</p>

A kiosk named “SELFIEwithMODI” has been grabbing the eyeballs of millions of Delhi residents, as it allows them to get a virtual selfie clicked with the honourable Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi. <br />

There are more than 20 mobile kiosks roaming around the city, enabling people to get a selfie with the charismatic leader. The kiosk has a large banner of the PM, with a camera and a tripod; people are allowed to just step in and get clicked. The kiosk has been aptly launched at a time when the political scenario of the city is under a supposed makeover.<br />

In just two days of its operation, there have been claims of more than 2 lakh selfies being clicked using the software. This seems to have inspired BJP people to install 100 more such kiosks so that people can have a feel of how it feels to be clicked with a leader of his stature.<br />

Blog <a href="https://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2020/06/apple-wins-patent-for-creating-synthetic-group-selfies.html">Patently Apple</a> first discovered the patent.</p><p>Such a system would work for still photos, videos, and live-streamed videos, according to the document. But beyond that, the feature could be generally useful for situations in which there may be too many people to squeeze into a shot manually. </p><p>It's important to remember that patents don't always translate into actual products or features. Apple frequently patents different types of technologies, and doing so does not guarantee that they'll end up in the hands of consumers. The company has patented ideas like <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2014/01/28/apple-camera-hardware-add-ons/">camera add-ons for the iPhone</a> and an <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2009-06-11-apple-patent-filing-shows-off-activity-monitor-for-skiers-biker.html">activity-monitoring device for skiers and bikers</a>, none of which have ever seen the light of day. What patents do indicate, however, is that Apple is at least thinking about or experimenting with such ideas.</p><p>The patent does come as the iPhone's camera and photo gallery have been major areas of focus in the company's recent software updates. Apple introduced a new layout for the camera roll that sorts images into days, months, or years, and removes duplicate shots and screenshots to make your photo gallery feel neater in iOS 13, the latest software version that launched in September. The camera was also a big focus in iOS 12, since it introduced effects like Animoji and filters to FaceTime. </p><p>Apple is expected to unveil its next big iPhone update at the end of the month during its virtual Worldwide Developers Conference, where we'll get a better sense of the camera updates Apple may be planning for the iPhone.  </p>

<p>Drake Shake is pretty self-explanatory: you choose a photo, and then shake your phone to make a new photo of musical artist Drake appear in the frame.</p>
