The members of <keyword id="22212826" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="womens-self-help-groups" source="keywords">women's self-help groups</keyword> (SHGs) will get the best possible training so that they can operate the drones effectively for different purposes such as <keyword id="22212827" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="spraying-fertilisers" source="keywords">spraying fertilisers</keyword> and pesticides in fruit and flower gardens. Speaking to after the inauguration of the new Agriculture Development Research and Training Centre at Killa under the Gomati district of Tripura, Nath said, "The central government has launched the scheme called drone Didi which is especially for women. Soon after the scheme was launched, a state committee was constituted. As per the recommendations of the committee, drones will be sent to the agriculture sub-divisions." According to Nath, the appointment of trainers has already been done who will impart training to the SHG members. "The trainers are already recruited. We hope within the next two months drones will reach each of the 47 agri-subdivisions," he added. The Minister also announced that a special scheme has been undertaken to appoint "Krishi Sakhis (Friends of Farmers)" who provide agriculture-related solutions to the farmers in the rural areas. "One sakhi (friend) will be appointed for one rural local body such as Gram panchayats and Village Committees. We have forwarded the proposal to the central government. If we get the approval, the process of appointing Sakhis will be started immediately." On the agricultural infrastructure he inaugurated, Nath said, "We are setting up new infrastructure in all agri subdivisions. This is a new training center set up for the farmers of the area. All the officials, trainers, and experts will come here and speak to the farmers. Arrangements have also been made for video conferencing." Tripura to introduce drones for agriculture purposes, says Minister

New Delhi, Feb 4 (IANS) Focus on the rural economy in the budget has been waning over the years and in such a scenario a revival of the rural economy would take time, <keyword id="45949" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="jm-financial" source="Orion">JM Financial</keyword> said in a report. In the absence of a specific focus on the rural economy in the <keyword id="6360189" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="union-budget" source="Orion">Union Budget</keyword> for 2023-24, analysts don't see immediate triggers for revival in the rural economy. Moreover in the absence of specific or enhancement of allocation towards the rural economy, we believe that the rural environment would have to revive on its own. Hence we would view businesses dealing with price sensitive low ticket items as less likely to benefit, JM Financial said. An attempt is made to make the new tax regime more attractive after getting a low response in FY23, however we believe the benefits in the form of tax saving on enhanced no-tax limit (INR 0.2mn) is unlikely to spur demand in a meaningful manner, JM Financial said in a report. Unlike the anticipation by a section of the market, rural focus was missing in the budget announcements. The expectations of a populist budget was linked to 9 state elections in 2023, moreover with FY24 being the last full year budget before the general elections in CY24. However, we believe that the schemes relating to empowerment of women <keyword id="75772" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="self-help-groups" source="Orion">Self Help Groups</keyword>, artisans and setting up of digital infra for agriculture and farmer centric solutions would provide opportunities in the rural economy to improve their livelihood, JM Financial said. Moreover, the budgetary allocation towards rural centric schemes like <keyword id="6361863" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mgnrega" source="Orion">MGNREGA</keyword> and PM <keyword id="865803" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="gram-sadak-yojana" source="Orion">Gram Sadak Yojana</keyword> has been declining ever since FY22. Even the sentiments as collated by CMIE show a declining trend in the rural economy ever since June '22 whereas the sentiments in the urban economy seem to be holding up well, JM Financial said. In the absence of a specific focus on the rural economy, we don't see immediate triggers for revival in the rural economy, the report said. The latest rabi sowing has been progressing well even on a higher base of last year, except in the case of wheat. Subsidy burden has been the major pain point in India's fiscal, led by rising fertilizer and food prices. Fertilizer subsidy was increased by INR 1.1tn in FY23 over and above the budgeted figures of INR 1.05tn. Allocation towards fertilizer subsidy has been made to the extent of INR 1.75tn in FY24. We believe with easing inflationary pressures, the government could have limited the allocation to INR 1.4tn, as fertilizer prices have moderated by 40% from its peak. However, the geo-political situation is still in a flux and the government's higher allocation seems prudent at this juncture. Food subsidy has been pegged at INR 1.97tn (vs INR 2.9tn FY23RE), as the outlay would be reduced with the discontinuance of the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana. On an overall level, subsidies form 1.2% of GDP vs 1.9% in FY23RE. Past data indicates that the exuberance or otherwise relating to the budget day normalizes within a month in the equity markets. Moreover, a substantial positive performance in Nifty was witnessed in the week following the budget day only during FY16, FY20 and FY21. The personal income tax changes in the Union Budget affect many but the impact is low, Credit Suisse said in a report. The split of salary income by income groups shows that while the number of filings is mostly by low-income groups, the bulk of the taxes come from high income. 56% of the filers belong to the low-income group but they add to just 2% of the tax collected. People earning more than Rs 10mn are less than 1%, but they add to 10% of the tax collected, the report said. Inflows from small savings deposits have shrunk considerably. Small saving deposits for government have been declining, and at the current pace, can be 20% YoY lower for FY23. This may still be marginally better than budgeted, though these flows are generally larger nearer to the year-end. While bank deposit rates have risen considerably, NSSF rates remained low for most of FY23, were raised in Jan-2023. The Centre continues to remain dependent on small savings flows to fund the deficit, Credit Suisse said.

New Delhi, Mar 5 () E-commerce giant Amazon has tied-up with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission to train, support and provide market access to artisans and self-help groups (SHGs) with the aim of helping small businesses in exploring wide markets through the platform.In the first phase, 2,500 products will be on sale from March 28, said Durga Shankar Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. In phase one, 24 states, 40 clusters and 350 self help groups have been enrolled which have the potential to generate around Rs 45 crore in the next one year."The agreement will help promote around four lakh women in self help groups which represent all urban local bodies across the country. E-commerce has become extremely significant and it also means that the products have to be of high quality, should be timely and should be packaged well. The SHG will be trained in all this and once that's done, the sky is the limit. In the next three years, we will aim for a Rs 500 crore turnover," Mishra said.Earlier, the mission had signed an MoU with another e-commerce platform Flipkart in January, 2020. With deeper internet penetration, the e-commerce sector has become a vital tool of businesses and the market is pegged to grow to 200 billion by 2026 from 4.5 billion in 2018. ASG ASG RDMRDM

Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="Orion">Narendra Modi</keyword> said on Saturday that he could not visit to his mother to seek her blessings on his birthday, but she will be happy to see that thousands of mothers have gathered to bless him on the day. The Prime Minister made the remarks while addressing the gathering of over one lakh women associated with self-help groups (SHGs) in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district. Prime Minister Modi on his 72th birthday visited to Madhya Pradesh where he released eight African cheetahs into enclosure at Kuno National Park. Following which, he graced a women SHGs conference being organised in Sheopur district. "I would have gone to my mother to seek her blessings on my birthday, if today's programmes weren't organised here. But, thousands of mothers have come to bless me here and after seeing all this, my mother would be very happy that I am getting blessings of thousands of mothers here," Prime Minister Modi said. He was welcomed with great enthusiasm by artists who performed tribal dance and other cultural programmes organised by the state government. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister recounted several women beneficiary schemes for women under his government. On the occasion, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, who is a prominent political face from Gwalior-Chambal region, said that around 60 per cent area of Sheopur district have dense forest zone. "Sheopur is a very small district, however, it is filled with natural resources. There are several ancient temples of Lord Shiva and that is why this area was named Sheopur." Notably, Sheopur has two assembly seats - Sheopur and Vijaypur, and the BJP and Congress each has one MLA. However, the fact that, Sheopur, which is the part of Gwalior-Chambal region, is also considered the most remote area in the state and has highest malnutrition cases in the state. The women SHGs participating in the conference were those who run several initiatives being promoted under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). DAY-NRLM aims at mobilising rural poor households into SHGs in a phased manner and provide them long-term support to diversify their livelihoods, improve their incomes and quality of life. On the day, the Prime Minister also inaugurated four Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) skilling centres under PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana. They said this was because therapists would steal Raniere's teachings.</li><li>Since leaving NXIVM, Edmondson said, she believes this was because any therapist who attended trainings would "see through" the manipulation tactics (as her mother did).</li><li>NXIVM founder and leader Keith Raniere used bonafide <keyword id="6363047" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="psychology">psychology</keyword> techniques to brainwash his followers.</li><li>He rebranded therapy methods as his own, calling them the "Executive Success Program."</li></ul>Leaders of NXIVM, the alleged sex cult covered up as a self-improvement multi-level marketing company, banned trained therapists from joining the group.Former NXIVM member Sarah Edmondson, who was coerced into being branded with leader Keith Raniere's initials, told Insider that executives of the group wouldn't allow licensed psychologists to come to the group's trainings.Leaders also barred life coaches or consultants, except for certain cases if top officials interviewed them and deemed them acceptable.High-ranking NXIVM members told lower-ranking ones that therapists were barred because Raniere's self-improvement methods were so helpful and original, psychologists would steal them and use them as their own.However, Edmondson, whose mother is a therapist, now believes that this rule (and the explanation for it) was a cover-up used to protect Raniere.Raniere used <a href="https://www.insider.com/nxivm-used-real-psychology-to-fetishize-vulnerability-manipulate-2020-9">science-backed psychology techniques,</a> rebranding them as his own creation, with jargon he invented like "rational inquiry" and "exploration of meaning." He called his method "ESP," or Executive Success Program. Billing himself as a guru, he used the method to manipulate members into sharing personal information.Raniere charged thousands of dollars for members to take these courses, which he claimed contained original and groundbreaking self-help methods. But if professionals caught wind of his teachings, they'd realize the lessons were rehashed teachings a psychology master's degree student learned in class."Really, I think it was: Keith knew that if a therapist came, they'd be able to see through it," Edmondson told Insider.<h2>Edmondson's therapist mother had to be screened before attending NXIVM events</h2>Edmondson's parents both work in the counseling realm. Her mother is a licensed therapist, and her father is a counselor.She said her mother always "saw through" NXIVM's guise of self-improvement. She would ask Edmondson "discerning questions" about the company's inner workings, though she still supported her daughter because she didn't want to push her away."She didn't know the extent of everything that we know now, but she certainly didn't buy Keith as a thought leader. She totally thought he was a megalomaniac," Edmondson, who was part of NXIVM for 15 years, said.Since leaving the cult, Edmondson said she believes leaders' demands to interview her mother before she attend NXIVM events in support of her daughter were a way to keep their <a href="https://www.insider.com/nxivm-used-real-psychology-to-fetishize-vulnerability-manipulate-2020-9">methods</a> under wraps.<h2>Anyone who questioned whether Raniere's methods were original was billed a 'suppressive'</h2>According to Edmondson, people who came to NXIVM after already dabbling in other self-improvement workshops would often say that Raniere's methods were nothing new.The cult's leaders would have a rebuttal to those statements."We were taught to be like, 'Well, they're just being suppressive. They're not paying tribute to what Keith has built, or they're just not discerning enough to see how this is different.' You know, that s--- like that," Edmondson said.Now Edmondson sees how Raniere harnessed <a href="https://www.apa.org/ptsd-guideline/patients-and-families/cognitive-behavioral">cognitive behavioral therapy</a>, a type of talk therapy that helps patients change unhealthy thinking patterns, to use members' emotions and vulnerable moments against them.The most common way NXIVM members would therapize their actions was through an EM, or "exploration of meaning" — a term Raniere created. During an EM, a member and a high-ranking NXIVM teacher would sit in chairs, facing each other, while a group of other members watched. The member would explain an area of their life they were having trouble in, like feeling anxious about a job interview, and the teacher would ask questions to see if the anxiety was rooted in a specific memory or pattern in their past.This framework only turned vulnerability into a commodity or "highly valued currency," therapist Kelly Scott of Tribeca Therapy previously told Insider."I think there is a way that group absolutely fetishizes vulnerability. Having self-compassion helps you accept that you can't change the past and it also helps you learn from mistakes so you don't make them again in the future.The study authors suggest that self-compassion is a more powerful strategy than self-esteem to overcome regret. Boosting your self-esteem allows you make excuses for the action you might regret, but it does not allow you to accept that it was wrong or move on from it. For the study, 400 people aged between 18-49 were asked to <a href="http://www.livescience.com/55254-overcome-regrets-self-compassion.html">complete writing exercises</a> at a computer. Half were assigned to write about regretting an action, something they did but wish they hadn't. The other half wrote about regretting an inaction, something they didn't do but wish they had.The participants were then split into three groups: a self-esteem group, a self-compassion group and a control group. Each group was asked to respond to a different prompt.The self-esteem group members were asked to write a response to the prompt: "Imagine that you are talking to yourself about this regret from a perspective of validating your positive (rather than negative) qualities." The self-compassion group members were asked to respond to: "Imagine that you are talking to yourself about this regret from a compassionate and understanding perspective. What would you say?" The control group was simply asked to write about a favorite hobby.When the participants finished writing, each group was asked questions to gage self-forgiveness, personal improvement, and acceptance of the event they had regretted. The study participants that were given the prompt designed to induce self-compassion demonstrated the most self-forgiveness, personal improvement, and acceptance of all three groups. The researchers think that this self-compassion method lets people frame the action they regret in a more positive way and treat it as a learning experience. Accepting the regret actually makes it easier to deal.So next time you find yourself regretting something you did, try to face up to instead of pretending it didn't happen and be compassionate with yourself. Chennai, Apr 28 () Public sector Indian Overseas Bankhas unveiled a special loan scheme for members of self helpgroups with a maximum cap of Rs one lakh for a group, the banksaid on Tuesday.The city-based bank said the eligibility of the borrowersis that they need to have a good track record and should haveavailed minimum two credit loans from the bank.As per the Bank's criteria only those self help groupswhose existing loans are performing as on March 1, 2020 wereeligible under this scheme, which is valid till June 30, banksaid in a statement. The maximum loan amount for an individual is Rs 5,000while for a group it is Rs one lakh, the bank said. The loan would be sanctioned and disbursed within sixworking days and they are payable in 30 EMIs after initialmoratorium of six months. The rate of interest for the loans is 9.4 per cent. "Self Help Group borrowers are an important part of theeconomy... we are working to best of our ability to extend oursupport to SHGs in the wake of coronavirus", bank's ManagingDirector Karnam Sekar said."These loans will assist the SHGs pass through thedifficult times..", he added.
