The promoters of <keyword id="6595587" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="patanjali-foods" source="Orion">Patanjali Foods</keyword> on Thursday said they do not foresee any adverse or negative impact on the financial position of the company owing to the instant freeze of promoters' shareholding by the stock exchanges.<br /><br />Earlier, the stock exchanges had put a freeze on the shares owned by the promoters for not meeting the minimum public shareholding (MPS) requirements as specified in the <keyword id="175952" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="securities-contracts" source="Orion">Securities Contracts</keyword> (<keyword id="6354397" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="scr" source="Orion">SCR</keyword>) (Regulation) Rules, 1957, of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).<br /><br />According to a statement of the company, shares were already under lock-in as per SEBI guidelines till April 2023 (one year from the date of listing i.e. April 08, 2023), and instant actions of stock exchanges do not appear to have a negative impact on the functioning of the Company.<br /><br />As per SCR Rules where as a result of the implementation of the resolution plan approved, public shareholding in a listed company falls below 10 per cent then the same shall be increased to at least 10 per cent within a maximum period of twelve months from the date of such fall.<br /><br />In December 2017, the National Company Law Tribunal initiated insolvency proceedings against Patanjali Foods, earlier known as <keyword id="53343" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ruchi-soya" source="Orion">Ruchi Soya</keyword> Industries. Patanjali's promoters say shareholding freeze won't impact company's financial position

Over 16 million of shares changed hands Thursday, compared to the average trading volume of 604,576. </p><p>According to a company <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210805005389/en/">statement</a>, Score Media and Gaming operates the number one sports app in Canada-called theScore-which provides sports fans with live scores, news, stats, and betting information. theScore is also the third most popular sports app in all of North America.</p><p>Penn National said the acquisition will fortify the company's "bespoke digital media and gaming strategy." The acquisition comes after Penn bought a 36% stake in Barstool Sports in 2020. <br /><br />"theScore's unique media platform and modern, state-of-the art technology is a powerful complement to the reach of Barstool Sports and its popular personalities and content," said Penn CEO Jay Snowden. </p><p>Barstool president Dave Portnoy cheered the Score Media acquisition on his Twitter Thursday morning. </p><p>"There is nobody else who does what they do," Portnoy told his 2.6 million followers. "It is the perfect compliment for us. Tech, market, mind space. We will control the entire ecosystem with their help from tech to media." </p><p>Shares of <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/penn-stock">Penn National Gaming</a> were up over 5% Thursday mid-morning. </p><p>The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022. </p>

Score Media surges 82% after Penn National Gaming said it will acquire the digital sports media firm for $2 billion

Mumbai, Jan 17 () State-run oil marketing firm Indian Oil on Friday announced entering into a pact with Cummins Technologies for bulk dispensing of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) in their advanced engines with SCR (selective catalytic reduction) systems. 
<p>The Indian Oil's DEF comes with the brand name ClearBlue. 
</p><p>The pact was signed by Subimal Mondal, Executive Director (lubes) at Indian Oil and Anjali Pandey, Vice President (engine business unit and component business), Cummins India, in the city on Friday, a release said. 
</p><p>"With this collaboration, IOC ClearBlue is recommended for use in all diesel vehicles that have Cummins engines or any other engines with Cummins SCR technology," Mondal said. </p><p>
</p><p>Bulk dispensing of DEF is in line with global trends and offers better cost viability to truck and bus owners, as compared to packed products, the release said. 
</p><p>The technical knowledge of Cummins combined with the bulk dispensing expertise of Indian Oil will help offer a world-class product to the customers across the country, it added. 
</p>"With this initiative, Indian Oil's innovation in a diesel exhaust fluid, delivers superior results that ensure emissions controls. Greater Noida, Feb 5 () Mahindra &amp; Mahindra on Wednesday introduced Cruzio range of buses at the auto expo here and has formally entered into the passenger bus segment.<p>Cruzio would establish Mahindra, a full range player in the commercial vehicle segment having presence across the segment.</p><p>The company has launched two variants Cruzio and Cruzio Grande having a seating capacity of 15 to 65, respectively and would be compliant with BS VI emission norms.</p><p>"We have formally entered into the bus segment with Cruzio range," said Mahindra &amp; Mahindra Managing Director Pawan Goenka.</p><p>Mahindra &amp; Mahindra President Automotive Sector Rajan Wadhera said: "The launch of our CRUZIO range of buses is another significant step toward making us a full range player in the CV segment." </p><p>According to him, these buses are designed specifically keeping in mind the needs of stakeholders, passengers and operators.</p><p>Mahindra Truck and Bus (MTB) has also launched BSVI emission norms compliant range, which includes the BLAZO X range of HCVs, FURIO range of ICVs &amp; LCVs and CRUZIO range of Buses. </p><p>This BS-VI range is launched with mPOWER and MDI Tech engines with FUELSMART technology and robust aggregates, retaining over 90 per cent of the parts of the erstwhile BS4 vehicles. </p>To meet BS-VI norms, Mahindra Truck and Bus has used CRDe engines with the incorporation of world-class technologies including SCR, DOC, DPF and EGR, so that the BS6 vehicles, the company said in a statement. That’s how much <keyword id="61108" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="North-Central-Railway">North Central Railway</keyword> (NCR) and <keyword id="82627" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="South-Central-Railway">South Central Railway</keyword> (SCR) have levied from its passengers for booking in superfast trains. However, a recent investigation by <keyword id="6356851" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="CAG">CAG</keyword> shows, these ‘superfast’ trains have been delayed almost 95% times. <br /><br /> <keyword id="51689" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Railway-Board">Railway Board</keyword> has defined superfast trains as the ones that run at an average speed of 55kmph. Given the fact that most express trains with exception to a handful runs on that speed, passengers are charged extra for most long distance train travels. <br /><br /> The study done between 2013-14 to 2015-16 in NCR and SCR shows that these trains reached the destination late between 13.48% and 95.17% of the days on which they ran. In total, 21 superfast trains were delayed on 3,000 days out of 16,804 days because they failed to attain the 'superfast' speed, according to a TOI news report.<br /><br /> Currently there is no policy by which the railways will refund money to passengers automatically for delays. It’s only when a person files a ticket deposit against reservation (<keyword id="59440" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="TDR">TDR</keyword>) against a train delayed for more than three hours is a refund possible.<br /><br /> Also 'superfast' surcharges vary for different class of coaches. For example, it is Rs 15 for general coaches, Rs 30 for sleeper, Rs 45 for AC (chair car, AC-3 economy, AC-3, AC-2 classes) and Rs 75 for AC First/Executive class which were effective from April 1, 2013, as per the TOI news report.<br /> <br /> <keyword id="6356295" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Agra">Agra</keyword> divisional commercial manager <keyword id="4798023" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="sanchit-tyagi">Sanchit Tyagi</keyword> told TOI, "There are scores of factors which lead to trains not achieving their superfast speed, thus causing delays. Some the prominent factors are the maintenance of tracks, signal glitches, emergency brakes and accidents which contribute in the late operations of railways."<br /> <br /> <br /><br />

As per the Supreme Court Order, Indian market will see only the sale of BS VI compliant vehicles from April 1, 2020. These new emission control standards being introduced in India will need widespread measures in terms of emission control, automotive electronics, fuel-grade and ECU changes. While the Bharat Stage Emission norms mainly focus on minimizing the pollutant emissions from the vehicles run on the Indian roads, the standards of the VI stage of these norms coming under the title BS VI will call for a drastic change in the technology adopted by the India vehicle manufacturers.<br /><br /><strong>The implications of BS VI norms</strong><br /><br />Once these norms come into effect, the emission levels in India will come on par with the emissions standards in the European countries and the US. This also marks a major advancement in the vehicle manufacturing technology in India which will match with the other advanced automotive technologies seen across the globe. Bharat Stage VI norms will demand a host of technology modifications the most important one being the implementation of OBD (on-board diagnostics) a mandatory feature for all the vehicles.<br /><br /><strong>The need for India to move to the BSIV to BS VI norms</strong><br /><br />India is a vast country with 10 highly populated cities. This is a qualification that we might not feel happy to boast of considering the alarming amount of pollutants the vehicles of the country release on the Indian roads. In the Indian cities, the vehicular emissions are major contributors to the worsening of air quality. Studies show that the release of NOx, SO2, CO2 and other particulate matters take a toll on the health of Indians. For instance, the PM2.5 levels in a city like Delhi is 6 times more than what is allowed by the WHO.<br /><br />Following the Paris Climate Agreement signed by India in 2016, India has taken the responsibility to cut down its carbon footprint by 35-55% within the next 12 years from what was recorded in 2005. These carbon footprint obligations have forced the country to move directly to BS VI norms bypassing the BS V norms. The BS VI norms will see the NOx emissions come down by 25% approximately in case of petrol engines and 68% in case of diesel engines. The PM emissions for diesel engines will come down by 80%. <br /><br /><strong>Technology changes that BS VI demand<br /></strong><br />The OEMs cannot just add some additional components in the manufactured vehicles to reduce the emissions. If Euro VI compliant DPF needs to be fitted in a small diesel car made in India, the bonnet size will have to increase by exceeding the 4 meters mark. In case of natively developed OEMs like Mahindra and TATA, the new standards will have to be implemented in their line of vehicles with utmost perfection. Since this technology has to be multiplied over hundreds of platforms, the challenge seems to be higher. In order to control the PM and NOx emissions, the OEMs will need to implement various kinds of technologies like fitting Diesel particulate filter (DPF) in the vehicles to expel particulate matters from the gas exhausted. For reducing the NOx emission, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and <keyword id="854698" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="exhaust-gas-recirculation">exhaust gas recirculation</keyword> (EGR) need to be used. <br />

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><ul class="summary-list"><li><strong>The Associated Press reported last month that a Chinese clothing factory used cheap or free labor from people held in oppressive Chinese interment camps.</strong></li><li><strong>Beijing has been criticized around the world for its treatment of the Uighurs, a mostly-Muslim ethnic minority who are intensively surveilled and frequently detained.</strong></li><li><strong>Badger Sport, which makes team clothes for US universities like Texas A&amp;M, cut ties with the Chinese factory after reports of its use of forced Uighur labor.</strong></li></ul><p>An American company severed its ties to a Chinese manufacturer that was reportedly making clothes using forced labor from an oppressed ethnic minority.</p><p>Badger Sport, a North Carolina firm that makes custom sportswear for institutions like the University of Pennsylvania and Texas A&amp;M, ditched the supplier Hetian Taida Apparel this week.</p><p>Hetian Taida is a privately-owned company located inside an internment camp in the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/category/xinjiang">northwestern Chinese region of Xinjiang</a>, the epicenter of China's well-documented oppression of the Uighur minority.</p><p>Xinjiang is home to some 11 million Uighurs, a mostly-Muslim ethnic minority currently subjected to unprecedented and invasive surveillance techniques by the Chinese state. The region is also known as East Turkestan.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>Beijing is accused of detaining up to 1 million Uighurs in<span>&#xa0;</span><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-camps-for-muslims-look-like-jail-cells-in-purported-video-2018-11">prison-like detention camps</a>, relying on <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-gives-these-excuses-to-imprison-uighur-ethnic-minority-2018-9">flimsy excuses</a> for doing so.</p><p>China justifies its crackdown as a counterterrorism measure. It has called the internment camps "free vocational training" where Uighurs "<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-calls-xinjiang-uighur-detention-camps-free-vocational-training-2018-10">have realized that life can be so colorful</a>."</p><p>Activists have found evidence of Chinese authorities <a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/xianjiang-province-china-police-state-surveillance-2018-7">tracking Uighurs' cellphone activity</a>. Beijing has also invested billions of yuan into <a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/meghara/the-police-state-of-the-future-is-already-here">covering Xinjiang with facial recognition cameras</a>.</p><p><em><strong>Read more:</strong> <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-camps-for-muslims-look-like-jail-cells-in-purported-video-2018-11">Shocking footage purportedly shows cells inside prison camp where China oppresses Muslim minority</a></em></p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>In a <a href="https://www.badgersport.com/service/sourcing-update/">Wednesday statement</a> on its website, Badger Sport said it will no longer work with Hetian Taida, nor import any products from Xinjiang.</p><p>It said the decision was made "out of an abundance of caution and to eliminate any concerns about our supply chain given the controversy around doing business" in Xinjiang.</p><p>The company said it "will not ship any product sourced from Hetian Taida currently in our possession," which it said previously accounted for about 1% of its total annual sales.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>Badger Sport's decision follows a <a href="https://www.apnews.com/99016849cddb4b99a048b863b52c28cb">December report from the Associated Press</a> (AP) that Chinese authorities were forcing detained Uighurs to making clothes for Hetian Taida for little or no pay.</p><p>It did not say which items were made by these workers.</p><p>Universities stocking Badger Sport clothing also removed items from their online and physical stores in light of the AP report.</p><p>It appears to be a sign that that businesses are reacting to <keyword id="6356001" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="international">international</keyword> pressure and reporting on the crackdown.</p><p>US bipartisan lawmakers introduced an act last month <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/us-lawmakers-bill-punishing-china-over-uighur-muslim-persecution-2018-11">urging the White House</a> to consider <span>imposing sanctions on Chinese officials responsible for the Uighur crackdown, as well as banning exports of US technology that could be used to oppress Uighurs.</span></p><p>China's foreign ministry <a href="https://twitter.com/dakekang/status/1083343264894324737">told the AP</a> that Badger Sport's decision to cut ties with Hetian Taida was "a tragedy for its business." US clothing company cuts ties with Chinese factory that reportedly used forced labor to make college sportswear

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>REUTERS/Gary Cameron</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>On Thursday, Volkswagen Group of America CEO Michael Horn testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee. </p><p>Horn identified some of the possible fixes owners of the half million cars affected by the emissions scandal in the US could expect.</p><p>The executive outlined repairs that will involve 5-10 hours per car for most vehicles.</p><p>The majority of thew affected cars won't be able to be brought up to an acceptable emissions standard with a software fix. Rather, they will require a replacement emission-system technology.</p><p>This is less expensive for VW than buying back vehicles, but it's still far costlier than a simple software upgrade.</p><p>According to Horn, the affected 2.0-liter TDI engines sold in the US from 2008 to 2015 are broken down into three separate generation groups.</p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>Gen 1:</strong> Affects roughly 430,000 vehicles which tend to be older model year cars.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">According to Horn, the cars in this group will likely require more than just a software update. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">"We are working on both hardware and software solutions," Horn said to the Committee. Possible hardware fixes could include a Urea SCR tank that neutralizes harmful exhaust particles  and a specific catalytic converter for nitrogen oxide (NOx).</span></p><p class="p1">This group will require the most work to fix. VW doesn't yet have a target date for when this repair will be available.</p><p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Gen 2:</strong>  Affects roughly 90,000 2012-2015 Passat sedans. According to Horn, this group of the cars will likely require only a software fix, likely be available middle of 2016.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Gen 3:</strong> Affects roughly 70,000 vehicles and could require only a software fix, but he wasn't able to get into much detail before a congressman cut him off. Horn did say that that the fix for the Gen 3 cars could be available as early as the beginning of 2016.</span></p><p class="p1">Horn noted that the proposed fixes will likely affect the performance of the cars. Fuel economy of the affected cars will match up with the EPA estimates posted on sales window stickers, but the cars will see a slight decrease in top speed. </p><p>The recall affects 482,000 diesel-powered cars sold in the US since 2008.
