Delhi Health Minister accuses LG Vinai Saxena of not filling vacant posts in Delhi hospitals

While earlier this problem was present in 13 to 15 per cent of children, it has increased to 20 to 25 per cent in the last 10 years. That means if there are 50 children in a classroom, then out of them there will be 15 to 20 children who require glasses. Dr <keyword id="20858465" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rohit-saxena" source="keywords">Rohit Saxena</keyword>, professor of ophthalmology and pediatrics, <keyword id="20858467" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rp-center" source="keywords">RP Center</keyword> at AIIMS, said that in earlier times, only 3 to 4 per cent of children required spectacles but now this number has increased. "Earlier, the problem of vision defects was seen in children 10 to 12 years of age. But now, at the age of 6 to 7 years, the eyesight of children has started deteriorating and they need to wear glasses," said the doctor. Not only this, but the doctor also said that even children under 4 years of age are facing the problem of myopia, or vision defect and the reason for its increase is the continuous use of gadgets like mobile phones, tablets, etc. in children. Children keep using mobile phones and other gadgets for many hours and parents do not interrupt them, Dr Rohit said, adding that before Corona, when parents used to come to us, they used to complain about television hours and ways to solve them. "Especially earlier, we used to think that the problem of visual impairment was less common in children in rural areas, but now the figures coming out show that even in rural areas, the problem of visual impairment is seen in small children. This means that even in those areas, the use of mobile phones and other gadgets has increased among children," he said. Dr Rohit said that in the data collected from rural areas in the last 10 years, earlier, 3 to 4 per cent of children had the problem of visual impairment, which has now increased to 7 to 8 per cent. The doctor said that it is very important to increase digitalization, which is a good thing. People are becoming aware of this, even in rural areas. Along with this, excessive use of mobile phones, tablets and other gadgets is harmful to children. "Parents need to be made aware of this and will have to explain this to their children since young minds are not aware of the potential damage," he stated. Poor eyesight in children increased in past 10 years: AIIMS

Fintech loan borrowers are younger, with two-thirds coming from the age bracket of less than 35 years. Fintech personal loans have contributed a vital role in financial inclusion, serving unaddressed market segments by sanctioning over Rs 2 lakh crore since April 2018, according to the report by the <keyword id="20190392" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fintech-association" source="keywords">Fintech Association</keyword> for Consumer Empowerment (FACE), an industry body convening digital lenders. "Fintechs, while small in value, are playing a mighty role in furthering financial inclusion. As the digital economy shapes up, fintechs will expand in tandem, playing a pivotal role in customers' access to formal credit - important for their financial health and resilience," said <keyword id="20670247" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sugandh-saxena" source="keywords">Sugandh Saxena</keyword>, CEO of FACE. "The growing economy and digitalisation bring huge opportunities and obligations to the fintechs," <keyword id="19970173" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="saxena" source="keywords">Saxena</keyword> added. The report analysed trends from data of 71 fintech NBFCs from April 2018 to September 2023. Fintech loans consistently increased their share in the personal loan market over the years, doubling their share in sanctions since FY18-19, the findings showed. "In loans outstanding, the share of fintech NBFCs is just 5 per cent of the total personal loans outstanding (as of September 2023) but accounts for over a third of active loan volumes," the data showed. In H1 FY 23-24, fintech loans accounted for 10 per cent of the sanction value but 62 per cent of the sanction volume, catering to sizeable, underserved segments with small-value loans. Fintech loans are climbing in ticket sizes, with nearly half of the sanction value coming from borrowers with ticket sizes more than Rs 50,000, the report mentioned. Fintech loans are moving up in the risk chain and distribution of sanctioned value across credit scores shows that the share of mid-low risk borrowers is increasing, from 36 per cent in FY 18-19 to 59 per cent in H1 FY 23-24. Fintech loan borrowers are younger, with two-thirds coming from the age bracket of less than 35 years, said the report.

More than two-thirds feel positive after taking a loan via digital means and 89 per cent reported positively toward digital lending apps, according to the report by the <keyword id="10648101" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="fintech-association" source="Orion">Fintech Association</keyword> for Consumer Empowerment (FACE), an association of digital and fintech lending companies. "Customer voices are very reassuring to know that digital credit is meeting customer's critical needs making them resilient to deal with day-to-day exigencies (medical/emergencies/cashflows) and also invest in their future and aspirations," said <keyword id="14579949" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="sugandh-saxena" source="Orion">Sugandh Saxena</keyword>, CEO at FACE. A Reserve Bank of India Working Group (WG) report has recommended steps for customers' access to genuine and safe regulated lending apps. "Equally important is customers' understanding of loan conditions including the pricing to take a loan they can afford and the ability to connect with lenders for queries/grievances," Saxena added. To date, 45 per cent have used one app to borrow digitally, while 55 per cent have used two or more apps to fulfill their credit needs. In the absence of a digital lending app, 43 per cent would borrow from their friends and family, but a significant 29 per cent would delay or forgo the need. Top three parameters customers consider when choosing a digital lending app are loan amount, customer reviews/ratings of the app and ease of use. "Top problems customers face when engaging with a digital lending app are identifying the right app, customer service, understanding terms and conditions," the report mentioned. For the large majority, the need for a loan is urgent and real, and they have had to compulsorily fund it, it added. Short video content platform <keyword id="9295153" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="bolo-indya">Bolo Indya</keyword> on Monday said it has launched its live streaming feature Bolo-Live for a wider audience. The Bolo-Live streaming feature comes with an integrated real time gamification in a form of gifting option where <keyword id="2205897" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="creators">creators</keyword> can be rewarded by their follower base basis the content quality, density as well as the engagement which can be redeemed in cash on the Bolo Indya platform. The platform, which claims to have over 68 lakh users including 28.5 lakh creators, spread across 14 languages, said that Bolo-Live has already crossed 1 lakh monthly micro transactions during its soft launch. With the new service offering, Bolo Indya expects its creator income to grow by 300 per cent by December 2021. "Through live streaming, Bolo Indya's 'equal opportunity' algorithms infuse new life to engagement between short video creators and their followers," <keyword id="1278463" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Varun-Saxena">Varun Saxena</keyword>, Founder and CEO, Bolo Indya, said in a statement. "As we embark on a journey to enable a 360-degree stack of content consumption for our users and earning for creators, we are confident that Bolo Live will be able to drive closer connect, bond and credibility amongst our users as well as creators and help them gain more revenues for their content creation ability," he added. As part of Bolo-Live, creator partners on the platform will now have an added streaming feature to go live, to deliver their specialised skills-based services as well as other highly engaging content to their follower base in the language of their choice. Users can send their favourite live performing creators, a wider variety of digital gifts right from a rose for ₹10 to even a space rocket for ₹500 to a special occasion premium gift for ₹1000.
