Chinese electric carmaker <keyword id="6482256" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="byd-india" source="Orion">BYD India</keyword> on Wednesday unveiled its new luxury sedan <keyword id="15977324" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="byd-seal" source="Orion">BYD Seal</keyword> which, it said, will be launched in the country during the last quarter of 2023. The Chinese electric car maker also claimed that <keyword id="67247" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="byd" source="Orion">BYD</keyword> Seal has a range of up to 700 km on a single charge. "With the unveiling of the electric luxury sedan BYD Seal, and the launch of the limited edition of BYD ATTO 3, Blade Battery, and the e-Platform 3.0, we resonate our commitment to contribute to the growth of the Indian electric vehicle segment with future EV technologies," <keyword id="13023382" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sanjay-gopalakrishnan" source="Orion">Sanjay Gopalakrishnan</keyword>, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicles of BYD <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, said. Only 1,200 units of this limited edition of BYD ATTO 3 will be available in India at Rs 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom). "Today, we are also very honored to announce that the first batch of BYD ATTO 3 delivery starts. This calendar year, we plan to sell 15,000 units of BYD ATTO 3 &amp; All-New e6. The bookings of BYD ATTO 3 have been very encouraging, and we are all set to start the first deliveries from January 2023," said Gopalakrishnan. BYD Seal is BYD India's third model for the passenger EV segment in India after All New e-6 electric MPV and BYD ATTO 3 e-SUV, both of which are already on sale. BYD India expanded its network to 24 showrooms across 21 cities in just one year and plans to double the presence to 53 showrooms within 2023. Auto Expo 2023: Chinese electric carmaker BYD India to launch luxury sedan in 2023's last quarter

Pure play <keyword id="381751" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="electric-vehicle" source="Orion">electric vehicle</keyword> (EV) player <keyword id="67247" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="byd" source="Orion">BYD</keyword> <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> Private Ltd on Tuesday launched its premium sport utility vehicle (SUV) Atto 3. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BYD, China - one of the largest EV players in the world. "With proven and innovative technology, we are on track towards building a stronger ecosystem that facilitates EV adoption in our country. The launch of BYD-Atto 3 is a step towards this mission. We will constantly contribute to building a greener future," <keyword id="13023382" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sanjay-gopalakrishnan" source="Orion">Sanjay Gopalakrishnan</keyword>, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicles of BYD India, said. Sales of the new model equipped with seven airbags, a robust steel body structure, a safety-oriented chassis design and several other features will start happening from January 2023. "We intend to sell 15,000 units of BYD-Atto 3 in India over the next year and plan to set up a local manufacturing facility in the due course," said Ketsu Zhang, Executive Director of BYD India. In India, BYD has two plants - one for making cars and the other for electronic items - involving a cumulative investment of about $200 million. The company assembles its cars by importing the parts from China. It started operations rolling out the e6 model - a <keyword id="495658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="multi-purpose-vehicle" source="Orion">multi-purpose vehicle</keyword> (MPV). The company's plant near here has the capacity to roll out 10,000 units per year. BYD launches EV Atto 3 SUV

The CEO of <keyword id="1112419" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Stayzilla">Stayzilla</keyword>, an online home-stay aggregator, was locked up in a Chennai jail on March 14 by the Chennai police on charges of ‘fraud’. 
 
This comes after the dismal news of the company shutting shop, recently to “reboot its operations” after the founders decided that their business model wasn’t working, despite 12 years of operations. 
 According to reports, C.S Aditya of Jig Saw Solution and Advertising, who filed a criminal case against Mr. <keyword id="4296642" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="vasupal">Vasupal</keyword>, which lead to the arrest, says there have been massive bills amounting to more than 1 crore pending, generated over a period of about 12-13 months.

This is clear case of mismanagement on the founders end where they could’ve easily predicted the bad situation.” 
 
He further adds, “When a startup is shutting down or revamping, it’s the founder’s responsibility to inform and settle all the stakeholders; the employees, the investors and the clients. Their announcements led to the media agency to react in a negative manner as they were afraid that they’ll never get back their dues.’’ 
 The real big flaw is IN the government’s <keyword id="3003094" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startup-India">Startup India</keyword> plan which still hasn’t accounted for the high failure rate of <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword>.

 <keyword id="6530028" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kris-Gopalakrishnan">Kris Gopalakrishnan</keyword>, Chairman, <keyword id="4303276" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="cii-start-up-council">CII Start-up Council</keyword> issued an official statement today, saying “The legal developments around <keyword id="6528392" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yogendra-Vasupal">Yogendra Vasupal</keyword>, founder of Stayzilla is disturbing. The nature of the accusation invoked against Stayzilla, i.e. non-payment of dues essentially falls in the domain of civil disputes and not under criminal charges, unless it is done with an intent of cheating. Start-ups are prone to all kind of financial vulnerabilities/stress as like any other business, and such examples of criminal proceedings against start-ups create fear in the minds of aspiring entrepreneurs in the country. Start-ups which fail should ideally be treated by a separate “exit/bankruptcy law” or “civil laws”, and not “criminal laws”, which is also in line with the goal of Start-up India.” 
 
When the laws aren’t clear around disruptive companies, they will always be subdued and held accountable to ‘criminal’ acts they didn’t commit. 
 
Yogendra Vasupal’s <a href="https://medium.com/@4091/help-i-need-everybody-52d0adcb1f09#.cgbbfp9ph">Medium post</a> concludes with, “I have always quietly felt that all knowledge/IT/BPO workers in Bangalore are only looked at as a source of revenue which can be gotten by shaking them down. This is across all Govt Depts. This is while we pay and bring in the bulk of the taxes to the city. We have no one to blame except our own apathy.”

For the Indian entrepreneur who fails, the odds are stacked high against him with authorities untrusting of the new businesses and their shiny advertising boards that are put down, as brutally as his position in the society.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) today successfully concluded the 8th international conference on Indian pharmaceuticals and medical devices sector. The conference, which was inaugurated by Union Minister of Health &amp; Family Welfare and Chemicals &amp; Fertilizers Dr Mansukh Mandaviya along with Minister of State for Chemicals &amp; Fertilisers Mr. Bhagwanth Khuba, was aimed to attract international collaboration and investments in the <keyword id="4169983" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india-pharma" source="Orion">India pharma</keyword> and medical devices sector. The two-day conference witnessed the launch of National Medical Device Policy along with the launch of Medical Devices Export Promotion Council, Assistance to Medical Device clusters for common facility scheme, and the release of reports on Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices sector commissioned by Department of Pharmaceuticals under PMPDS scheme. The conference featured a variety of informative sessions, workshops and CEOs roundtable spread over the two days. The theme for the conference on day one was Sustainable Medtech 5.0 : Scaling and Innovating Indian MedTech on which three sessions were conducted on Practical Commercialization Strategies for MedTech: Pilot scale to Production scale. The session was chaired by Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade where key takeaway was Scaling manufacturing for commercial requirements and ensuring regulatory compliance of medical devices and strategies for securing funding for product development and manufacturing in the medical device sector. Another session was on Propelling the Innovation and R&amp;D Growth: Efficient Quality Management in MedTech which was chaired by Dr N Yuvaraj, Joint Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals. The key takeaway for the session was the analysis of the National Medical Device Policy and proposed R&amp;D policy, understanding the gaps in the current R&amp;D ecosystem in the MedTech industry, and the implementation of research outcome-linked fiscal incentives to support innovation in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> and globally among others. The third session of day one was based on Capacity &amp; Skill building in MedTech: Industry-Academia Integration and was chaired by Mr. K Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India where key takeaway was the importance of mapping the gaps in the workforce and developing a future-ready workforce in the medical device sector. The theme for the second day session was on Indian <keyword id="6363818" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pharma" source="Orion">Pharma</keyword> Industry: Delivering value through Innovation under which three sessions were taken place. The first topic for the session was Pharmaceutical industry as pillar of India's growth and quality as the key foundation growth driver which was chaired by: Shri Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, GoI which discussed the role of Indian Pharma industry in driving India's economic growth and What kind of Innovations, quality, and global reach India should focus to contribute globally more from value perspectives then volume. Another session on Digital transformation shaping the pharmaceutical Industry valuechain was chaired by Mr. S Gopalakrishnan, Special secretary, (Health) Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI where the Key discussion points were the Digital Transformation in the Pharma Industry look like?, opportunities and challenges related to the digitalisation process: to put a spotlight on what digital transformation means for the pharmaceutical Industry among others. The second day event concluded with the discussion on Leapfrogging into the future of Indian pharma: Capitalizing on global biosimilar opportunity and was chaired by Dr. Y.K. Gupta, Chairman, AIIMS Bhopal and AIIMS Jammu, GoI with the key discussion points of measures to compete with other developed countries in terms of regulatory aspects and export of biosimilars and other related subjects.
