Well-known British firearms manufacturing company, <keyword id="1247188" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="webley-scott" source="Orion">Webley &amp; Scott</keyword>, which has an exclusive manufacturing unit in <keyword id="205355" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sandila" source="Orion">Sandila</keyword> in <keyword id="6370809" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hardoi" source="Orion">Hardoi</keyword> district, will now increase production to 400 revolvers per month in view of growing demand. Webley &amp; Scott had collaborated with Lucknow-based <keyword id="38051" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="sial" source="Orion">Sial</keyword> Manufacturers Private Ltd. for the arms manufacturing unit which had begun operations in Sandila in 2020. Director of its India-based partner, <keyword id="14081597" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="maninder-pal-singh-sial" source="Orion">Maninder Pal Singh Sial</keyword>, told reporters that until now they were getting orders for 175-200 revolvers, but the demand has increased to 400 in the past month from across the country. "So, we have demanded our English partner for the upgrade. New machines from England have already been set up to increase production. A team of engineers from England has also paid a visit to the unit to guide the workers," he said. He also added that "maximum orders are being made for our .32 revolver of Webley &amp; Scott, which also happens to be the first foreign company to manufacture firearms here. We are also giving a stiff competition to the arms manufactured by the ordnance factory. For the first time, people are getting world-class weapons at their doorsteps." He said the maximum orders are those from the states of southern and central <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>. The government's support and the Centre's 'Make in India' policy have helped the project not only take the final shape but also increase the production, Sial added. He said that from July, they will also begin manufacturing of .32 pistols which will surely become a rage among the buyers. Webley &amp; Scott, which armed the <keyword id="325901" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="allied" source="Orion">Allied</keyword> forces during the two world wars and produced weapons for at least 15 countries, has its sole presence in the Indian sub-continent in Sandila. NTPC Ltd The state-owned NTPC Ltd said it has successfully synchronised a 660-MW unit of its supercritical thermal power plant in Bihar with the grid. Videocon Industries ad BPCL The state-owned Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) has been forced to pay for its defaulting partner Videocon Industries after it had relied on a rarely used model to acquire a stake in five oil blocks in Brazil, according to <a href="https://energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/oil-and-gas/bpcl-pays-for-defaulting-videocon-in-brazil-oil-block/78355979">reports</a>. The shares of Videocon Industries ended 5% lower on Friday, whereas BPCL shed nearly a percent. Sun Pharma The drug major Sun Pharma in its Annual Report for 2019-20 said the company is looking to expand its speciality business across different regions like Greater China and Japan after having established presence in the US market. The shares of Sun Pharma ended 0.72% higher on Friday. Berger Paints India’s second-largest paint maker, Berger Paints said that despite the coronavirus uncertainty its capital expenditure for this fiscal year remains unaffected and will be the same as last year. The major investment will be in its upcoming Sandila plant near Lucknow of around Rs 260 crore, and the plant is expected to be operational from 2022 onwards. The shares of Berger Paints ended 0.88% higher on Friday. Vodafone Idea The telecom regulator TRAI has decided to drop proceedings against Vodafone Idea in priority plan matter after the telco withdrew contentious claims on faster speed and modified its offering. The shares of Vodafone Idea ended 12% higher on Friday.
