"Over the last few weeks, we have done a lot of thinking and it has been hard for us to arrive at this conclusion. We have immense belief and faith in the potential that ZestMoney has," the founders wrote. "We will also ensure to provide full support to the incoming management team and do everything we can to support them for the next 4 months to ensure a smooth transition," they added. Chapman said that she and other founders remain shareholders in ZestMoney. The founder's decision came after a potential deal to acquire ZestMoney by leading fintech company PhonePe fell through recently. ZestMoney was valued at $445 million last year and has raised over $130 million from a range of investors, like <keyword id="2126501" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ribbit-capital" source="Orion">Ribbit Capital</keyword>, Omidyar Network, PayU, Xiaomi and Alteria Capital, among others. This, the officials said, will help to spread the incentive to a larger number of vehicles. With the addition of ₹1,000 crore of unutilized funds from three-wheelers, the allocation for electric two-wheelers under the FAME-II scheme will be increased to ₹3,500 crore. Shimla, <keyword id="42580" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="himachal" source="Orion">Himachal</keyword> Pradesh's highly prized foraged fungi crop known worldwide for its meaty texture, robust flavor and to ward off free radicals that cause ageing, a large proportion of which are shipped to Europe, is bountiful this year in nature owing to plentiful post-winter precipitation, experts and traders said on Monday. <keyword id="992007" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="guchhi" source="Orion">Guchhi</keyword>, or morchella esculenta, a <keyword id="78652" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mushroom" source="Orion">mushroom</keyword> variety which grows naturally in snowy slopes, is reaching markets across north Indian towns. A kg of dried guchhi is selling from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000 in the wholesale domestic market, depending upon the quality and size. Almost 90 per cent of the produce in the hill state is heading offshore. Britain, Germany, Italy, France and the Netherlands offer good prices. The morels sell for upwards of $500 per kilogram in the international market. A freshly harvested one kg of guchhi is reduced to 80 - 100 grams after drying under natural conditions. In Himachal, a large number of Nepalese, who are otherwise working in Himachal orchards, are involved in collecting this fungus from the wild. Its harvesting begins in May and lasts till June-end. Trade insiders told IANS that the demand for morchella from European consumers is rising due to growing interest for vegan food and animal protein substitute. In Himachal Pradesh, guchhis are grown in dense deodar forests mainly in interiors of Shimla, Chamba, Kullu and Mandi districts. Since its trade is not regulated by the government, there is no estimation about its overall production. "After two years of lean season, this time the production of guchhi is good. It is highly prized for the domestic consumers," Shimla-based trader Karamjit Singh told IANS. He said most of the crop is heading to Chandigarh and Delhi. But traders say China is posing a tough challenge in the international market owing to its large-scale commercial production and comparatively lower price. "In recent years, China has started cultivating morchella in fields and greenhouses. Owing to its production in bulk, the Indian variant is facing a tough challenge in international trade," a trader, who wishes not to be named, told IANS. For foragers collecting morel mushrooms from their natural environment is time consuming and back-breaking exercise that lasts for days together. "This year the guchhi crop is good. Normally we collect 50 to 60 kg of guchhi every year from Rampur forests. This time we have collected over 120 kg," said harvester Devi Thakur. "Everyone can't be a harvester. One should be mentally and physically strong to harvest guchhis in the challenging terrain. You require sharp eyesight to spot them beneath logs of decaying wood, leaves or humus soil," said another collector Brij Khemta. "This is why the young men and women, mostly from a community, hunt for them collectively." Thakur, who has been hunting morels for years, added a number of middlemen from Delhi have been procuring the produce directly from them. After the winter snow, frequent spells of rains in March and April are congenial for the mushroom crop to grow naturally. Even most apple growers find morels in the forests near their apple orchards. They use them for serving them at special occasions such as weddings and births. Officials of the forest department say families settled in forested areas are actively involved in the collection of guchhi, and earn handsome rewards for their efforts. Villagers have permission to collect guchhi, which falls under the category of "minor forest produce". Villagers ought not to pluck out the roots, as the crop is then destroyed. But many villagers unknowingly pluck the clusters out with their roots, a forester told IANS. Himachal Pradesh is known for growing a variety of wild spices and medicinal plants. Hundreds of families earn their livelihood by collecting and selling them. World's most prized morel mushroom plentiful in Himachal forests

This is the first time it has entered negative territory since July 2020. The decrease in inflation in April is mainly attributed to the decline in food articles, cereals, wheat, vegetables, potato, fruits, eggs, meat and fish, minerals, crude petroleum and natural gas, and steel, among others. “Within food, while prices of vegetables, milk, eggs, meat and fish exhibited downward pressure, upward movement in prices of food grains, particularly pulses and paddy needs to be watched more closely. Manufactured products have benefited much from the decline in international commodity prices,” said Sonal Badhan, economist at Bank of Baroda. Badhan said this trend is likely to continue as weak global growth momentum, led by the US and China, will maintain downward pressure on prices. Even oil prices are seen weakening, which in turn will provide support to fuel and power inflation index. Going ahead, we maintain that the trajectory of food prices in the wake of ongoing heat wave conditions and performance of monsoon will be critical, Badhan said. Wholesale inflation has been easing – in March it was at 1.34% against 3.85% in February. Overall wholesale inflation has been on a downward trend since October when it hit 8.39%. Notably, the WPI-based inflation had been in double digits for 18 months in a row till September. Retail inflation comes below <keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword>’s upper tolerance limit This April, retail inflation eased sharply to 4.7%, an 18-month low, as against 5.7% the previous month. It is closing in on the lower tolerance limit of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) 4-6% target. India's retail inflation was above RBI's 6% target for three consecutive quarters and had managed to fall back to the RBI's comfort zone only in November 2022. “Looking ahead, a favourable base and continued ebbing of demand will help in bringing the headline CPI number lower in the coming months. A positive outlook for the domestic currency and lower commodity prices could also bode well for the inflation outlook. Nevertheless, we remain wary of upside risks emerging from weather-led disruptions if El Nino conditions turn out to be more severe than currently anticipated. Possible heatwaves in the summer could also pose a concern,” said a report by CareEdge. In early April, the Reserve Bank of India kept interest rates unchanged at 6.25%, in spite of wide expectation that it would raise it by another 25 basis points. RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) had unanimously decided to keep the repo rate unchanged, RBI governor Shaktikanta Das had said in his speech. “The decision to pause repo rate is for this meeting only. MPC will not hesitate to take further action in future meetings if it’s needed,” Das added, insisting that the fight against inflation was not over. Before the pause, the MPC had hiked the repo rate six times beginning May 2022, with the total quantum of rate hikes standing at 250 basis points. Wholesale inflation turns negative in April, after retail inflation eases to 18-month low

<ul><li>Analysts are bullish on <keyword id="42747" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="tata-motors" source="Orion">Tata Motors</keyword> thanks to robust performance by the car maker’s British subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover.</li><li><keyword id="45218" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="jlr" source="Orion">JLR</keyword> expects its wholesale volumes to rise 25% in FY24, and its debt to reduce to £2 billion from the existing £3 billion.</li><li>Tata Motors’ domestic businesses also delivered margin expansion, with its net debt falling to ₹6,200 crore in FY23, the lowest in 15 years.</li><li>Robust performance across segments also helped the company declare its first dividend since FY16.</li></ul>Tata Motors is driving in top gear, thanks to a strong performance by its British subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) alongside robust execution across segments in its domestic business. It topped street estimates with a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/auto/news/tata-motors-posts-net-profit-of-5408-crore-in-q4-beats-estimates/articleshow/100189259.cms">consolidated net profit of ₹5,408 crore in Q4</a> and analysts expect the momentum to continue in the new financial year aided by multiple tailwinds. Tata Motors’ robust numbers in the March quarter were aided by JLR’s performance – the UK-based luxury car maker posted free cash flow of £815 million during the quarter. JLR accounts for 80% of Tata Motors’ consolidated revenue, so its strong performance has a large impact on Tata Motors’ performance. In addition, Tata Motors’ domestic business also delivered an improvement in margins across segments, helping the company post its highest-ever consolidated revenue of ₹1.06 lakh crore in Q4, registering a growth of 35% on year. “Tata Motors executed a strong show across key verticals in Q4 FY23 with commercial vehicles earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) margins crossing the 10% mark after 4 years and JLR delivering a strong £815 million free cash flow,” said the analysts at Motilal Oswal. Tata Motors declared a dividend of ₹2 per ordinary share, its first since FY16. The Indian business’ net debt stood at ₹6,200 crore in FY23, which is the lowest in 15 years. The street also celebrated its earnings as its shares rose by 4% hitting a fresh 52-week high of ₹537 a piece before closing at ₹531. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="The JLR boost" comment="subhead" text="The JLR boost">The JLR boost</cmsannotation> Analysts expect Tata Motors to gain more momentum going forward, thanks to JLR’s healthy order book, softening commodity prices and sustained free cash flow generation. JLR’s volumes surged to 1.07 lakh units in Q4, rising by 20%. In a post-earnings call, the luxury car maker said that its current order book stands at 2 lakh units, and that the overall demand outlook remains healthy. Of this, 1.5 lakh orders are for high-margin cars like the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender. The company has planned a ramp up of capacities during FY24, with capital expenditure budgeted at £3 billion, up from £2.35 billion in FY23. Overall, JLR is targeting volumes of 4 lakh units in FY24 which is a growth of 25% when compared to FY23’s volumes of 3.21 lakh units. Thanks to improving margins and volumes, JLR is aiming to reduce its debt to £2 billion from £3 billion during FY24, with a target of becoming net debt free in FY25. Not just this, JLR is also the dominant industry player in the electric passenger vehicle space in its home market, UK, with a market share of over 80%. “Demonstrated capability in newer technologies in the commercial vehicle space and pricing discipline across industry to aid aspiration of double-digit margins ahead,” said analysts at ICICI Direct. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Margins expand in domestic businesses too" comment="subhead" text="Margins expand in domestic businesses too">Margins expand in domestic businesses too</cmsannotation> Tata Motors’ commercial and passenger vehicle segments witnessed margin expansion in the March quarter – while the commercial vehicle segment delivered a 420 basis point margin expansion YoY to 10.1%, the passenger vehicle segment reported a 40 basis point increase to 7.3% in this period. Going forward, the company expects to touch double-digit margins and a sustained free cash flow generation. “Tata Motors should witness a healthy recovery as supply-side issues ease (for JLR) and commodity headwinds stabilise (for the India business),” said the analysts at Motilal Oswal. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Analysts bullish" comment="subhead" text="Analysts bullish">Analysts bullish</cmsannotation> Analysts are broadly bullish about Tata Motors’ growth prospects in FY24, thanks to lower input costs and JLR’s focus on capacity expansion as well as investments in the electric vehicle (EV) space. “Firmer commitment towards EV by JLR with an accelerated investment plan of £15 billion spend over the next five years will be one of the key triggers for future price performance,” ICICI Direct said. The brokerage added that it expects the company’s revenue to grow at a 20.1% compounded annual growth rate over FY23-25. “It will benefit from the commercial vehicle upcycle and stable growth in passenger vehicles, company-specific volume/margin drivers, and a sharp improvement in free cash flow as well as reduction in net debt in both JLR and the India businesses,” the Motilal Oswal report said, explaining its bullish outlook.
