<keyword id="135365" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Samsung-Electronics">Samsung Electronics</keyword>, the multinational electronics company based in Suwon, South Korea, has appointmented <keyword id="2199591" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Srini-Sundararajan">Srini Sundararajan</keyword> as the head of network business for India. 
 
Sundararajan will manage the operations and would further develop business opportunities of Samsung's mobile network business in the whole of Southwest Asia. 
 
"We are very glad to announce Srini's appointment and wish him success in his new role. Srini is well experienced and we are expecting his contribution to strengthen Samsung's mobile network business," Youngky Kim, President &amp; Head of Network at Samsung Electronics told ET. 
 
"With Srini, Samsung will continue to expand its business in Southwest Asia, one of the fastest growing markets in the industry." 
 
Sundararajan is a veteran of the industry, known for his immense knowledge of the mobile network sector. He has almost 30 years of experience in various jobs related to the field, like R&amp;D and product management. 
 
Prior to this, Sundararajan has led the India and South Asia business of Alcatel-Lucent, and has done significant contribution towards business profitability, market development and organizational management.

<ul><li><keyword id="10591" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="samsung" source="Orion">Samsung</keyword> announced it has partnered the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub and Foundation.</li><li>Called 'Samsung Solve for Tomorrow,' the programme invites youth in age group 16-22 to apply with their innovative ideas around education and learning, environment and sustainability.</li><li>The top three teams will win Rs 1.5 crore to turn their ideas into action while others participants who reach top 30 and top 10 will be rewarded at various stages of the programme.</li></ul>New Delhi, Samsung India on Tuesday announced it has partnered the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub and Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT Delhi, for the second season of its national education and innovation competition. Called 'Samsung Solve for Tomorrow,' the programme invites youth in age group 16-22 to apply with their innovative ideas around education and learning, environment and sustainability, health and wellness and diversity and inclusion. The top three teams will win Rs 1.5 crore to turn their ideas into action while others participants who reach top 30 and top 10 will be rewarded at various stages of the programme. Participants will receive mentoring and training from Samsung, IIT Delhi and MeitY Startup Hub. "The vision of the government is to promote a vibrant ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, and youth are at the centre of this. They need all the support and mentoring that can help them turn their ideas into reality, creating a strong social impact along the way," said <keyword id="3248650" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="alkesh-kumar-sharma" source="Orion">Alkesh Kumar Sharma</keyword>, Secretary, MeitY. The first season of the initiative in 2022 received over 18,000 registrations from youth across the country. This year, anyone in India aged 16-22 can apply till 5 pm on May 31. "The entries we got in the first season provided us with a unique snapshot of the concerns and issues on the minds of India's youth. They looked at issues ranging from waste management, electricity and water wastage, plastic waste, speech disorders as well as pandemic prediction and solutions," said <keyword id="16046454" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="jongbum-park" source="Orion">JongBum Park</keyword>, President and CEO, <keyword id="4324485" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="samsung-southwest-asia" source="Orion">Samsung Southwest Asia</keyword>. First launched in the US in 2010, the 'Solve for Tomorrow' programme is currently operational in 63 countries globally and has seen over 2.3 million young people participate worldwide. Samsung, MeitY to skill Indian youth in building real-life innovations

<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=tim+cook&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Apple CEO Tim Cook</a> is in India and the rivals, obviously, have eyes set on him. But, there is one rival that is closely monitoring Cook’s every move in India and it is <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=samsung&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Samsung</a>. 
 <keyword id="10591" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Samsung">Samsung</keyword> Electronics is keeping a watch on Cook’s Indian itinerary and gauging Apple’s India plans. 
 
The battle has intensified between Apple and Samsung as the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=iphone&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">iPhone maker</a> is eying India with hopes and Samsung is keeping the competition in mind. 
 
As per reports, daily reports are being sent to South Korea on Cook’s meetings, visits, etc. 
 
"Updates are being sent on Cook's moves, both through email and WhatsApp," said one of the people cited above. Samsung headquarters is extremely keen to know as much detail (as possible) since this is one of the longest visits which Cook is doing in any country recently and is tapping all possible sources for information,” ET quoted a source as saying.

However, Samsung denied such reports. 
 
"We strongly deny this. This is groundless and absolutely incorrect," said the Samsung Southwest Asia spokesperson in response to emails from ET.

Meanwhile, to boost its presence in India, Samsung may enter into a partnership with Reliance for selling its handsets through Jio.

Samsung launches AI-powered home appliances range

The much-anticipated 'make in India' <keyword id="699914" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="samsung-galaxy-z" source="Orion">Samsung Galaxy Z</keyword> Flip5 and <keyword id="696369" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="galaxy-z" source="Orion">Galaxy Z</keyword> Fold5 went on sale in India on Friday, after seeing a robust demand in the country. Over 1 lakh consumers had pre-booked the foldable devices in the first 28 hours in the country, according to the company. Starting Friday, Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 will be available across retail outlets as well as on <keyword id="10591" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="samsung" source="Orion">Samsung</keyword>.com, Amazon and Flipkart, the company said in a statement. Galaxy Z Flip5 (8GB+256GB) comes for Rs 99,999 and (8GB+512GB) for Rs 109,999. Galaxy Z Fold5 (12GB+256GB) is available for Rs 154,999, the 12GB+512GB variant for Rs 164,999 and (12GB+1TB) model for Rs 184,999. As compared to the fourth generation foldables, the South Korean giant received 1.7 times more pre-bookings for Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5. 'Make in India' Galaxy Z Flip5, Z Fold5 now available in India
