Mylo, founded in 2017, focuses on young parents by offering them mother and child care options, community connect and more. ITC acquires a 10% stake in this mom-and-child care brand as it looks to hop onto the D2C train

Conglomerate <keyword id="6357073" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="itc" source="Orion">ITC</keyword> on Friday said it will acquire a 16 per cent stake in <keyword id="6893485" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mother-sparsh" source="Orion">Mother Sparsh</keyword>, a D2C Ayurvedic and natural personal care brand, for Rs 20 crore through a share subscription agreement. Mother Sparsh is a premium Ayurvedic and natural personal care start-up in the D2C space, focusing on mother and baby care segments. "The said acquisition will, inter alia, enable access to the fast-growing direct to consumer (D2C) space in the 'personal care' category, which has been identified by the company as an area of interest," ITC said in a regulatory filing. This share acquisition is expected to be completed, in two tranches, within eight months from the date of execution of the Agreements. It will also be subject to completion of conditions and a shareholders' agreement in connection with the proposed acquisition, it added. Mother Sparsh, which was incorporated on February 5, 2016 had reported a turnover of Rs 15.44 crore in FY 2020-21. Commenting on the development ITC Chief Executive, Personal Care Products Business Sameer Satpathy said, "We believe that this investment provides an exciting opportunity which is in alignment with our aspiration to have a significant play both in the naturals and Ayurvedic segment as well as in the D2C channel." New Delhi, Mar 31 () FMCG major ITC on Tuesday said it has started production of Savlon hand sanitisers from its Manpura facility in Himachal Pradesh, which has been designed to produce premium fine fragrances to meet soaring demand due to coronavirus pandemic. The company said it has re-purposed the perfume facility to help produce an additional 1,25,000 litres of Savlon hand sanitisers as there has been an unprecedented surge in demand for hand hygiene products like sanitisers. Commenting on the step, ITC Personal Care Products Chief Executive Sameer Satpathy said,"Addressing a larger national requirement during the coronavirus pandemic, ITC has re-purposed its recently commissioned perfume manufacturing facility in Manpura, Himachal Pradesh to manufacture Savlon hand sanitisers." He further said: "This initiative reinforces our efforts to enable enhanced production and supply of Savlon range of hygiene products in the market which is the need of the hour to help fight the virus and contain its spread." ITC said it has redoubled efforts to ensure enhanced supply and availability of Savlon range of products in the market. "This intervention will enable ITC to meet the demand surge for sanitisers in the market," the company added. ITC’s fancy perfume factory will now produce 1.25 lakh litres of sanitizer

Keeping with its trend of appointing young executives in key roles, <keyword id="6357073" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="ITC">ITC</keyword> has appointed 49-year-old Sandeep Kaul as chief executive of the cigarette business. 
 
IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus, Kaul has played many important roles in the company. 
 
"Kaul is amongst the emerging executives to look out for at ITC, since only the most trusted hard hitters are made in charge of the cigarette business," a senior analyst told ET. 
 
He will replace Hemant Malik (49), who has been moved as head of FMCG trade marketing and distribution. 
 
ITC does not want to part ways with any profits coming in from its cash-cow business. 
 
Presently, ITC’s sales have been hit due to price hike and suspended factories over regulation on larger-sized pictorial warnings of health hazards on cigarette packs. 
 
Also, Sameer Satpathy (43) is now the chief executive of the personal care business. 
 
B Sumant (52) has been elevated to corporate management committee. 
 
As ITC’s executive director Kurush Grant and PV Dhobale announced retirements, it was inevitable for ITC to make changes. 
 
The company also appointed Sanjiv Puri (52) as an executive director overseeing more than 80% of the business and is also likely to succeed YS Deveshwar.
