In late July, Salman <keyword id="6355601" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="khan" source="Orion">Khan</keyword> had called on Police Commissioner <keyword id="997336" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vivek-phansalkar" source="Orion">Vivek Phansalkar</keyword> with a request for the gun licence, though the police had vehemently denied the same. The application was routed through the proper channel, and after all formalities were completed last week, the licence papers were handed over on Sunday. Following a hand-scrawled death threat to the father-son duo, the Mumbai Police had tightened security at their Bandra west residence and initiated other measures, while the actor moved for a weapon licence. But those who expected to find a superb <keyword id="2437016" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Thriller-erotica">thriller-erotica</keyword> in <keyword id="2296101" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vishal-Pandya">Vishal Pandya</keyword>’s <keyword id="753788" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hate-Story">Hate Story</keyword> 2 could be disappointed – neither the sizzle, nor the thrill matched the earlier Hate Story (a 2012 film directed by <keyword id="30014" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Vivek-Agnihotri">Vivek Agnihotri</keyword> and starring <keyword id="455333" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Paoli-Dam">Paoli Dam</keyword>, Gulshan Devaiah and <keyword id="8255" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nikhil-Dwivedi">Nikhil Dwivedi</keyword>). In spite of some spirited acting by <keyword id="22533" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Surveen-Chawla">Surveen Chawla</keyword> and <keyword id="21678" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="sushant-singh">Sushant Singh</keyword>, the current movie turned out to be a mediocre <keyword id="1321184" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="revenge-drama">revenge drama</keyword> with lots of skin show, but still managed to do amazingly well at the <keyword id="827271" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Domestic-Box-Office">domestic box office</keyword>. Produced by <keyword id="24468" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bhushan-Kumar">Bhushan Kumar</keyword> and <keyword id="15260" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="vikram-bhatt">Vikram Bhatt</keyword>, Hate Story 2 netted Rs 5.46 crore on the opening Friday (trade figure stood at Rs 4.61 crore) and went on to collect Rs 15.85 crore nett in the first three days (trade figure was Rs 14.30 crore). But there was the usual Monday drop and the movie collected around Rs 2.68 crore on the fourth day (trade figure was Rs 2.11 crore), thus netting a total of Rs 18.53 crore after Day 4. 
 
Hate Story 2 hit 600 screens across the country but thanks to the fantastic business it is doing, the distributors now want it to be released in 1,200 screens pan-India, as per media reports. The opening weekend collections of Hate Story 2 were bigger than some A-list movies, including <keyword id="6377522" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="queen">Queen</keyword>, Highway and Dedh Ishqiya, and the 15th highest in 2014. It had a budget of Rs 14 crore (cost and P&amp;A), which means the flick is making profits. Interestingly, the official trailer of Hate Story 2 crossed over 4 million views on <keyword id="10879" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="YouTube">YouTube</keyword> within four days of its launch, but if you ask us, it’s a total put-off in many ways in spite of earning more than the other three releases. 
 
In stark contrast, Vir Das-Vega Tamotia-Anindita Nayar-starrer <keyword id="2336494" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Amit-Sahni">Amit Sahni</keyword> Ki List turns out to be a refreshing <keyword id="1636016" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="rom-com">rom-com</keyword> with loads of laughter and some pertinent points about relationships. But <keyword id="664154" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ajay-Bhuyan">Ajay Bhuyan</keyword>’s directorial endeavour failed to win hearts, netting a little over Rs 3.1 crore at home after the first Monday. Pizza 3D, a remake of the 2012 Tamil <keyword id="828468" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Supernatural">supernatural</keyword> thriller, came loaded with terror bytes but earned around Rs 2.87 crore nett in the first three days. Incidentally, the Tamil version of this movie was a sleeper hit.

However, the worst is Ashok Tyagi-directed Riyasat, yet another version of Mario Puzo’s Godfather and <keyword id="1076" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="superstar">superstar</keyword> Rajesh Khanna’s (<keyword id="4753" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Saheb">Saheb</keyword>) last outing. First day collections stood at a paltry Rs 36 lakh and the rest of the numbers are yet to come in. But industry insiders expect it to be a box office bomb and Khanna’s listless presence is not likely to help it. Although Aryan Vaid (Shakti), the elder son and heir, and <keyword id="15984" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aryeman-Ramsay">Aryeman Ramsay</keyword> (his younger son <keyword id="3037" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Vijay">Vijay</keyword>) performed well, India’s first-ever superstar was completely off-colour and looked totally under the weather – hardly a fitting tribute to an <keyword id="271" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="actor">actor</keyword> of his stature. 
 
Critically speaking, Amit Sahni Ki List still tops the list in spite of the box office debacle and the shoddy treatment of an intriguing script. Here we meet Amit Sahni (<keyword id="671" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vir-das">Vir Das</keyword>), an <keyword id="140092" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="investment-banker">investment banker</keyword> trying to find the perfect relationship and not get hurt in the process. His serio-comic vulnerability reminds one of the young gang from Dil Chahta Hai and the carefully made check list of partner’s qualities once again makes us realise life does not follow a perfect script in spite of all our efforts. But the movie loses pace in-between, loses coherence and a drab ending ultimately mars the freshness. 
 Directed by debutant <keyword id="2174779" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akshay-Akkineni">Akshay Akkineni</keyword>, Pizza 3D captures the paranormal experiences of Kunal (<keyword id="480238" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akshay-Oberoi">Akshay Oberoi</keyword>), a <keyword id="1079002" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="pizza-delivery-boy">pizza delivery boy</keyword> married to the <keyword id="2437008" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="horror-thriller-writer">horror thriller writer</keyword> <keyword id="741" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nikita">Nikita</keyword> (<keyword id="12341" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Parvathy-Omanakuttan">Parvathy Omanakuttan</keyword>). What follows is a terror fest, with loads of twists and turns, leading to a climax that is spooky enough to please horror fans. However, the 3D effects did not add much to the terror elements. 
 
Overall, an average week for Bollywood, but you are bound to experience some dhamaka when Salman Khan-Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer <keyword id="6362088" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="kick">Kick</keyword> is released on July 25.

Made on a budget of Rs 35 crore, the magnitude of this film is immense, the canvas is vibrant and the protagonists are two most good-looking people (<keyword id="598" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Deepika-Padukone">Deepika Padukone</keyword> and <keyword id="106133" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Ranveer-Singh">Ranveer Singh</keyword>) with a sizzling chemistry. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein Last time when <keyword id="2165" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Kareena-Kapoor">Kareena Kapoor</keyword> and <keyword id="14676" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Imran-Khan">Imran Khan</keyword> came together, the audience didn’t have much fun watching the rom com, Ekk Main Aur Ekk Tu. Will they be able to impress this time around, with this <keyword id="3778" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Karan-Johar">Karan Johar</keyword> production? The trailer failed to create a stir. But then, it’s a relatively small-budget movie and it doesn’t look like a big deal to recover the money, considering Kareena is in the lead role. Crosses ₹ 100 cr mark on Mon. Fri to Mon: ₹ 108.61 cr,” his <keyword id="6354904" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="tweet">tweet</keyword> said. But there’s yet another record. The flick has registered the highest collections ever on a single day – Rs 35.91 crore on Monday, November 4. 
 
And still there’s more. Adarsh’s latest tweet says: It’s a rocking Tuesday! #Krrish3 is on a record-smashing spree. Collects ₹ 26.26 cr. Total: ₹ 134.87 cr. AWESOME.

The rest of the trade contradicted the numbers, though, pegging it between Rs 85 crore and Rs 93 crore.

 Papa Roshan’s dream flick stars ‘beta’ Hrithik, <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword>, Kangana Ranaut and <keyword id="13902" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vivek-Oberoi">Vivek Oberoi</keyword> (he played the villain Kaal). The superhero sci-fi drama was made at a budget of about Rs 100-150 crore. It was sold at Rs 70 crore to some 9 domestic distributors, with another Rs 18 crore coming in from overseas rights (570 screens).  After <keyword id="7929" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Anurag-Kashyap">Anurag Kashyap</keyword>'s '<keyword id="6356850" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Udta-Punjab">Udta Punjab</keyword>' was leaked last month, piracy organisations have allegedly leaked the most awaited movie of the year, Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma-starrer '<keyword id="6355056" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sultan">Sultan</keyword>.' 
 
The 'Sultan' leak came just a day before the movie hits theatres in over 4500 screens across India. 
 
Confirming the news, cyber-crime expert, Deep Shankar was quoted in reports as saying that the copy of the movie is available on the darknet and will soon be available on torrent. Another crime investigator, Kishlay Chaudhary has reportedly claimed that the 2 hours 36 minute-long movie is available online and has also shared various screenshots of the same with media houses. He also said that many websites have been blocked since Tuesday and links have been removed immediately after upload. 
 
However, Yash Raj Films has denied any information about the leak. Some cyber experts also allege that there are no active links to the movie and that the trailer was morphed and circulated on social media platforms. 
 
This is the second film which has been leaked this week, the first one being Indra Kumar's 'Great Grand Masti' starring Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh and Urvashi Rautela. 
 
The movie's Censor Board copy was leaked online three days ago. The film's management team is reportedly working hard to remove the links, and even tweets and Facebook links sharing the same are being taken down. The movie was leaked 17 days before its release and is reported to have faced monetary losses as a result. 
 
No formal complaints have been filed by the makers of either movie yet.

Salman Khan's Sultan may have been leaked online

The movie, which is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, produced by Aditya Chopra and also stars Randeep Hooda, revolved around a wrestler ‘Sultan’, played by Salman, whose arrogance after an Olympic win costs him personally as well as professionally. 
 
Sultan’s story also revolves around how a wrester from a tiny village of Haryana state makes it big in the sport due to his grit and determination. There is also a love-angle in the story in which Anushka is playing a pivotal role, who is also a wrestler in the movie. 
 
The duration of the movie is 2 hours, 50 minutes and has Twitter singing for it.

Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ has got Twitter rooting for it. Here’s what Twitter verdict is

 The <keyword id="59608" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Olympic-Association">Indian Olympic Association</keyword> (IOA), which invited brick-bats over its decision to appoint Salman, clarified that Salman was the biggest Bollywood star in the country and the key objective of bringing him on board was to draw maximum attention from the masses and popularizing Olympic sports in the country. 
 
However, sports enthusiasts voiced out their dissent over ignoring and not appointing legendary sportspersons as ambassadors and mocked Salman and IOA on Twitter. 
 The news did not go well even with the sporting personalities such as wrestler <keyword id="157783" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Yogeshwar-Dutt">Yogeshwar Dutt</keyword> and Milkha Singh. 
 
Dutt, who has qualified to represent India at the Olympics that will start in August, took to Twitter to voice his opinion, which was supported by sports lovers and denounced by Salman fans.

A war is raging on Twitter over Salman Khan’s appointment as the goodwill ambassador for 2016 Rio Olympics

The actor took to social networking site Twitter to show his ‘concern’ for Yakoob Memon, saying that hanging him was wrong and he is being punished for his brother Tiger’s misdeeds. 
 
The series of tweets has sparked a national controversy, not only because of Memon’s involvement in the 1993 serial Bombay blasts, but also because of Salman’s own <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/ITS-BAIL-FOR-SALMAN-KHAN-But-first-he-must-surrender-before-the-Sessions-Court/articleshow/47200010.cms">criminal record</a>, when in 2002, he drunk-drove his car over some people sleeping on the pavement of a Mumbai road, killing 1 and injuring 4 others. The actor also <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/SalmanVerdict-Salman-Khangets-48-hours-interim-bail-till-May-8/articleshow/47176350.cms">fled the scene</a> and years later, claimed that it was his driver who was sitting behind the wheels on that fateful night. 
 <keyword id="31016" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salim-Khan">Salim Khan</keyword>, celebrated scriptwriter and Salman’s father has said that Salman is ignorant of the matter and whatever he has written is ridiculous and meaningless. He also said that the actor’s stand should not be taken too seriously. 
 
However, this is not the first time that Salman has stepped on the ‘unfavourable’ side of his fans and the politicians as well. It was after the unfortunate 26/11 attacks that the actor had sparked controversies by saying, "Too much hype has been created around the 26/11 attacks because elite people were targeted. Attacks have happened in trains and small towns too, but no one talked about it so much. Everybody took this up because the Taj and Oberoi hotels were involved." 
 
The actor later apologised for the same and cleared his stand, saying that he meant to point out why such intense reactions weren’t conjured during other times that Mumbai faced serial blasts, including the 7/11 serial blasts in the local trains. 
 
Well, all we have to say is that for Salman Khan, it would be better if he doesn’t use <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Salman-Khan-scolds-Twitter-followers-like-a-Bhai/articleshow/47612143.cms">social media</a> to express his opinions on grave issues, and keeps on entertaining us in the form of movies like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Why-is-Bajrangi-Bhaijaan-unlike-every-other-Salman-Khan-movie/articleshow/48112256.cms'">Bajrangi Bhaijaan</a>, because his ridiculous and meaningless opinions don’t go down too well with anyone, be it his fans or the authorities.

The leaked movie is available on the internet in parts, says a report by <a href="http://www.dnaindia.com/entertainment/report-kabali-leaked-online-2235804">DNA</a>. 
 
With this leak, the movie follows a list of other Indian movies that have suffered the piracy issue in the recent past, ranging from Shahid Kapoor starrer Udta Punjab, Salman Khan’s Sultan to last week’s release Great Grand Masti, starring Viveik Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani. 
 
It was on July 15 that the Madras High Court has banned 169 service providers from leaking the film on the internet. Moreover, a <keyword id="283584" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kabali">Kabali</keyword>-themed flash mob also recently performed in a Chennai mall, with several anti-piracy messages. 
 The film has been directed by Pa Ranjith, and stars Winston Chao and <keyword id="133292" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Radhika-Apte">Radhika Apte</keyword> alongside <keyword id="1527407" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="thalaiva">Thalaiva</keyword> Rajinikanth.

 In <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> Shakespeare has found many admirers, who have turned his plays and stories into Bollywood blockbusters. The latest being Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider, which is based on the 17th century tragedy Hamlet and is getting released this 2nd October. Let’s take a look at some of the other Bollywood movies based on the writing genius’ plays. 
 
The Tragedy Of Macbeth 
Written in April 1611, this tragedy play was the inspiration of Maqbool. The movie had some of the biggest Indian parallel cinestars like Pankaj Kapoor, Irrfan, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri and Piyush Mishra. Released in the year 2003, the movie was produced by Bobby Bedi and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, who also composed the background score of the movie. Though it failed to perform much at the BO, the movie is considered a landmark in terms of acting and direction. 
 
The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice 
Written approximately in 1603, this tragedy play inspired Omkara, starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Naseeruddin Shah and Bipasha Basu. The 2006 movie was produced by Kumar Mangat and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, thus becoming the second Shakespeare work adapted into a movie by Bhardwaj. The movie was a critical and commercial success, and won three National Awards. 
 
The Comedy Of Errors 
Believed to be written in 1594, the comedy play has inspired six Indian movies, viz. Do Dooni Char (1968) starring Kishore Kumar and Asit Sen; Angoor (1982) starring Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma; Bhrantibilas (1963 Bengali film) starring Uttam Kumar and Bhanu Bandopadhyay; Ulta Palta (1997 Kannada film) starring Ramesh Aravind and Karibasavaiah; Aamait Asal Eemait Kusal (2012 Tulu film) starring Naveen D Padil and Jyotish Shetty; and Double Di Trouble (2014 Punjabi film) starring Dharmendra and Gippy Grewal. 
 
Romeo And Juliet 
Written in 1597, the tragedy play has inspired many Bollywood movies till date. Some of the movies inspired by Romeo and Juliet are: Bobby (1973) starring Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia; Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981) starring Kamal Haasan and Rati Agniohotri; Sanam Teri Kasam (1982) starring Kamal Haasan and Reena Roy; Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) starring Amir khan and Juhi Chawla; Saudagar (1991) starring Manisha Koirala and Vivek Mushran; Ishaqzaade (2012) starring Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor; Issaq (2013) starring Prateik and Amyra Dastur; and Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela (2013) starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. 
 
The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark 
Written in 1603, the tragedy has inspired Haider, starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabbu, Kay Kay Menon, and Irrfan Khan. The movie is produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and Siddharth Roy Kapur, and is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. This is the third film that Bhardwaj has adapted from Shakespeare’s plays. The movie is all set to release on 2nd October 2014.
