NEW DELHI: The Delhi transport department has issued a show-cause notice to <keyword id="42747" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>, seeking its reply in connection with a complaint that one of its electric car models failed to meet the specified range on a single charge, officials said. The complainant claimed that the model (Nexon EV) of the electric car purchased by him from a dealer at the <keyword id="6412146" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="safdarjung-enclave">Safdarjung Enclave</keyword> and registered on December 3, 2020 has failed to provide the specified 312-km range on a single charge, a <keyword id="1389125" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="senior-transport-department-officer">senior transport department officer</keyword> said."It has been informed that while the <keyword id="4215553" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="vehicle-model">vehicle model</keyword> is specified to provide a 312-km range on a single charge, the vehicle owned by the said customer has never provided a range of more than 200 km," the show-cause notice issued to Tata Motors read. The vehicle owner, a resident of Najafgarh, also claimed that he has "duly followed" various advices of the dealer but no improvement was noticed, despite best efforts."Therefore, a show-cause notice is issued as the vehicle has failed to provide an optimal range to the consumer as promised by the OEM (original equipment manufacturer," the notice said. The notice has directed the OEM to depute its representative to appear before a transport department officer at 12 noon on February 15.In case no representative of the OEM appears before the transport officer on the designated date and time, further action including "delisting" of the said model from the subsidy-eligible e-vehicles' list can be considered, the notice stated. According to the Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy, notified by the transport department on August 7, 2020, a purchase incentive of ₹10,000 per kWh of battery capacity is provided on buying an electric four-wheeler with a cap of ₹1,50,000 per vehicle.The owners of the first 1,000 e-cars to be registered in Delhi after the issuance of the policy will be eligible for the incentive, officials said. The electric car model under question was approved under the eligibility conditions of the Delhi EV Policy .A Tata Motors spokesperson said the notice was received and "all possible measures" are being taken to address the concern.The range specified on a single full charge (312 km) for Nexon EV is on the basis of the certification received from the <keyword id="131330" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Automotive-Research-Association-of-India">Automotive Research Association of India</keyword> (ARAI), which is the official body that independently tests all mass-produced vehicles under standard test conditions, before those can be offered to customers, he said.The actual range achieved in EVs is dependent on the usage of the air-conditioner, individual driving style and the actual conditions in which the vehicle is driven. The range achievement is also a function of familiarity with the new technology and customers report improvements upwards of 10 per cent within four to six weeks of familiarity, he said."Since its launch a year ago, Nexon EV has consistently grown in popularity to become <keyword id="3658" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>'s highest-selling electric vehicle with nearly 3,000 families enjoying the pleasure of owning and driving it," the Tata Motors spokesperson added. Delhi Government issues notice to Tata Motors over complaint from Nexon EV owner

New Delhi, Apr 12 () A 56-year-old assistant-sub inspector of the Delhi Police has tested positive for coronavirus, police said on Sunday. The ASI is a resident of Shyam Nagar, Okhla Phase-1, they said. He is the third policeman in the national capital who has tested positive for COVID-19, police said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Devender Arya said, "The assistant sub-Inspector posted at the Safdarjung Enclave police station was tested for coronavirus after he showed symptoms. His reports arrived today wherein he was declared positive." The ASI attended the duty last on April 9 and was on leave since then as he was unwell, a police official said. All the police personnel who came in contact with the ASI have been advised for home quarantine and will be tested for COVID-19, he said. The policeman stays at a four-storey building in Okhla and all his family members and residents of the building will be screened for COVID-19 as a preventive measure, the official said. A letter has been written to hospital authorities for screening and medical examination of his family members as well as neighbours. All of them have been advised for home quarantine and movement of people in the residential area has also been restricted, he said. Earlier, two other Delhi police personnel had tested positive for coronavirus. A 44-year-old head constable, posted in the Foreign Regional Registration Office at the Indira Gandhi International Airport's Terminal 3, and a 49-year-old police official, posted in the traffic unit in Hauz Khas, had tested positive for COVID-19. Delhi Police ASI tests positive for coronavirus

<ul><li>There are now 122 <keyword id="8959677" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="containment-zones">containment zones</keyword> in <keyword id="66" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword>.</li><li>The highest containment zones are in the North district at 24. The South East has 17 containment zones while the South district has 12 zones.</li><li>While other parts of the city may have some relaxation from the <keyword id="91743" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="lockdown">lockdown</keyword>, these containment zones have strict rules in place until June 30, as per Ministry of Home Affairs. </li></ul>The Delhi government has identified 20 new containment zones, taking the total number of containment zones across 11 districts to 122 as of May 21.Among the 20 new containment zones, one is in East, three in North, three in south-east and 13 in West zone. The <a href="https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1266750150153629696">highest containment zones are in the North distric</a>t at 24. The South East has 17 containment zones while the South district has 12 zones. While other parts of the city may have some relaxation from the lockdown, these containment zones have strict rules in place until June 30, as per Ministry of Home Affairs. This comes as Delhi witnessed a record single-day spike with 1295 fresh cases which pushed the total tally close to 20,000. As of May 30, the total number of cases reported in Delhi are 19,844, of which 8075 are active. New Delhi, Jul 8 () Moments before the body of 35-year-old Anjum was to be buried, Sharif Khan decided to have one last look at his sister who succumbed to the novel coronavirus. However, he received a rude shock when the corpse lying in a body bag beside the freshly dug grave turned out to be someone else's. Khan later found out that his deceased sister was cremated by the family of Kusumlata, another COVID-19 victim whose body had been accidentally swapped with Anjum's by staff at the AIIMS here where both women had been admitted and subsequently died. A doctor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) said there has been a lapse on the part of the staff as they did not carry out the proper process of establishing the identity before handing over the bodies to the families. "On the basis of the initial report, administrative action has been taken against two staff members from the mortuary. One has been terminated while another was suspended. Further, a committee has been set up for carrying out a detailed probe into the incident," a senior doctor at AIIMS said. Khan said his sister, a resident of Bareilly, was suffering from jaundice and he brought her to the AIIMS on July 4. Anjum was admitted at the emergency ward of the hospital and within two hours, the doctors declared her COVID-19 positive. They admitted her to the COVID-19 ward at the Trauma Centre, he said. Anjum's husband had died seven months ago. She is survived by her three children. "Late on Monday night, I received a call that my sister had died. The next day, at around 8 am, we reached the hospital and asked the doctors if we could take the body back to Bareilly, but they refused. They gave us four PPE kits and asked to go to ITO graveyard to book a place," Khan said. Accordingly, the body was taken to the cemetery at ITO, a dedicated graveyard for burying those who die due to COVID-19. Before the body was lowered in the grave, he opened the body bag to see his sister's face one last time. "When I saw the face, I realised it was not my sister. It was one Kusumlata from Ghaziabad. Her name was mentioned on the body," he said. The AIIMS staff was also present during the burial. When Khan told them that the body was not his sister's, the hospital staff left with Kusumlata's body and said they would be back. "We kept waiting at the graveyard till 4 p.m., but nobody turned up. We called them several times, but they kept giving us excuses. Finally, we reached the Trauma Centre and called police," Khan said. "The doctors informed us that the family members of Kusumlata had cremated my sister's body at the Punjabi Bagh crematorium," he said, adding that he had called his niece and nephew from Bareilly so that they could see their mother's face one last time. Khan said he has lodged a complaint at Safdarjung Enclave police station regarding the incident. A senior police officer said, "We have received the complaint and are looking into the matter." Despite repeated attempts, Kusumlata's family could not be reached. A senior doctor at the AIIMS said the hospital has ordered an enquiry into the matter. One staff member has been terminated from service while another has been suspended. "Both the bodies along with two other bodies were transported together for cremation and burial.
