The promoters of <keyword id="6595587" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="patanjali-foods" source="Orion">Patanjali Foods</keyword> on Thursday said they do not foresee any adverse or negative impact on the financial position of the company owing to the instant freeze of promoters' shareholding by the stock exchanges. Earlier, the stock exchanges had put a freeze on the shares owned by the promoters for not meeting the minimum public shareholding (MPS) requirements as specified in the <keyword id="175952" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="securities-contracts" source="Orion">Securities Contracts</keyword> (<keyword id="6354397" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="scr" source="Orion">SCR</keyword>) (Regulation) Rules, 1957, of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). According to a statement of the company, shares were already under lock-in as per SEBI guidelines till April 2023 (one year from the date of listing i.e. April 08, 2023), and instant actions of stock exchanges do not appear to have a negative impact on the functioning of the Company. As per SCR Rules where as a result of the implementation of the resolution plan approved, public shareholding in a listed company falls below 10 per cent then the same shall be increased to at least 10 per cent within a maximum period of twelve months from the date of such fall. In December 2017, the National Company Law Tribunal initiated insolvency proceedings against Patanjali Foods, earlier known as <keyword id="53343" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ruchi-soya" source="Orion">Ruchi Soya</keyword> Industries. And in July 2019, the tribunal approved the resolution plan submitted by <keyword id="6406649" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="patanjali-ayurved" source="Orion">Patanjali Ayurved</keyword> for Ruchi Soya. Owing to the allotment of the equity shares made pursuant to the implementation of the resolution plan as duly approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), the aggregate shareholding of the promoter and promoter group of the company increased to 98.87 per cent of the total issued, paid up and subscribed equity share capital of the Company. The company was acquired by Patanjali Group pursuant to the approval of the resolution plan submitted by a consortium led by Patanjali Ayurved by NCLT vide its order dated July 24, 2019, read with order dated September 4, 2019, and the same was implemented with effect from December 18, 2019. Patanjali's promoters say shareholding freeze won't impact company's financial position

Diversified FMCG company <keyword id="181951" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ruchi-soya-industries" source="Orion">Ruchi Soya Industries</keyword> has raised ₹1,290 crore from anchor investors ahead of its follow-on public offering (<keyword id="46435" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="fpo" source="Orion">FPO</keyword>) that opens for public subscription on Thursday. A follow-on offering is the issuance of additional shares made by a company after an initial public offering (IPO). The upcoming FPO is going to be only a fresh issuance of equity shares to public investors without any offer for sale component, a statement said on Wednesday. The company informed the exchanges that the price band for its FPO has been set at ₹615 per equity share (at the lower end of the price-band) to ₹650 per equity share (at the higher end of the price-band). On Wednesday, it informed the bourses that 19,843,153 equity shares have been allocated to anchor investors at the upper-end of the price-band against the applications from various anchor investors. Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, The Sultanate of Oman - Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, Yas Takaful PJSC (an Abu Dhabi-based insurance company), MK Cohesion, UPS Group and Alchemy were among the foreign investors that received allocation under the anchor investor portion of the FPO, the statement said. Currently, <keyword id="3040166" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="patanjali-group" source="Orion">Patanjali Group</keyword> owns about 98.9 per cent stake in <keyword id="53343" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="ruchi-soya" source="Orion">Ruchi Soya</keyword>, while public shareholders own about 1.1 per cent stake. Post the FPO, Patanjali Group's holding in Ruchi Soya will come down to about 81 per cent, and the public shareholders would hold about 19 per cent. The entire proceeds from the follow-on issue will be used for furthering the company's business by repayment of certain outstanding loans, meeting its incremental working capital requirements and other general corporate purposes, the company had said recently while announcing the FPO. Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Toyota, Motherson Sumi, Bosch, Mitsubishi Electric and Tata Autocomp are among the list of companies that have been approved for the scheme. PLI is a form of incentive from one entity to another, such as from the government to industries. It provides incentives to domestic industries to boost local production. The auto PLI scheme is aimed at giving a push to advanced automotive technologies and manufacturing of electric vehicles in India. The government said that the PLI scheme for the auto sector envisages to overcome the cost disabilities of the industry for manufacture of advanced automotive technology products in India. The incentive structure will encourage industry to make fresh investments for indigenous global supply chains of advanced automotive technology products. Reportedly over 100 companies had applied for the PLI scheme. A report by CNBC-TV18 said that incentives in the range of 8-13% would be given to companies that are making components for safety, flex fuels, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), emission control, passenger convenience, fuel efficiency, and sensors, while a higher range of incentives — 13 to 18% would be given to companies making components for hydrogen and electric vehicles. India’s crypto regulations don’t recognize the full scope of web3, say experts

New Delhi, Mar 12 () As the market rout continued, as many as 1,180 stocks, including Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services and HDFC Bank, touched their 52-week low levels on Thursday. Despite this, shares of 13 companies, including Ruchi Soya Industries and Apollo Finvest (India) Ltd, managed to make gains and hit 52-week high levels on the BSE. After nosediving over 3,204.30 points during the day, the BSE's benchmark Sensex settled 2,919.26 points or 8.18 per cent lower at 32,778.14 as the coronavirus pandemic wreaked havoc on global markets. "Recession fears increased after WHO declared coronavirus a pandemic which forced investors to sell-off risky assets. Fresh travel bans across nations is contributing to the fears that economic impact will be much larger than earlier estimates," said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services. New Delhi, Apr 20 () India on Monday started a staggered exit from the world's biggest lockdown as curbs on economic activity in rural areas were lifted but business remained sporadic as some companies decided to wait for the complete lifting of restrictions on goods and people's movement.The government had last week allowed industries in rural areas and farmers as well as makers of information technology hardware to resume operations as it looked to revive stalled economic activity that suffered an estimated Rs 7-8 lakh crore of loss.FMCG companies, like many other industries, had to face major hassles of supply chain disruption and fall in available labourers following the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and the ensuing lockdown imposed to curb its spread, are looking to maximise production with easing of curbs.Major auto OEMs, however, are looking to restart operations in a phased manner only post-May 3 when the extended lockdown is scheduled to be lifted. This because functional retail and vendor network are still absent, blocking cash flows.Work from home is expected to continue for employees in the information technology and business process management industry for some more time as many states like Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana have decided to continue with full lockdown without any relaxations.The three states house a sizeable number of IT-BPM firms.The government on its part looked at public sector firms for anchoring the biggest part of economic revival. To begin with, state-owned oil firms have decided to resume as many as 511 projects involving over Rs 42,000 crore of investment with immediate effect.Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), Indian Oil Corp (IOC), GAIL, Oil India Ltd and six other public sector firms identified projects that either in rural areas or have in situ labour for the resumption of work, oil ministry sources said. These projects will involve Rs 2,210 crore of payout to suppliers and labourers in the first month and generate around 7 crore man-days of employment.With the government allowing manufacturing-related relaxations in certain green zones starting Monday, FMCG companies hoped this will help them indirectly in restarting activities in industrial clusters. But, full ramp-up of the supply chain may take 30-40 days, once the lockdown is fully lifted.Consumer goods companies are expecting to ramp up production capacity to 60-65 per cent from current levels of 40-50 per cent.While the government has permitted restarting construction activities, real estate developers continue to face problems particularly over the availability of labourers.Most migrant labourers had returned to their native state following the imposition of nationwide lockdown on March 25. The government has not yet started the inter-state movement of labourers and so companies continue to face the problem.Companies like Patanjali, Ruchi Soya, Dabur and Parle Products that have been operating their plants in a scaled-down manner during the first phase of lockdown with limited workforce suggested giving manufacturing permission to their several suppliers, which are mostly MSMEs and fall within the city radius, as it is affecting the smooth functioning of the supply chain."Factories of Patanjali and Ruchi Soya were operational even during the lockdown because we operate in food and essentials. However, there were issues regarding transportation and supply chain, etc during the lockdown, which I expect to ease out slowly," Yoga Guru Ramdev told .According to him, Patanjali witnessed almost two to three-fold jump in the demand for its several products and expected that the supply of such products would be increased in the market going forward.Similarly, Dabur India Executive Director-Operations Shahrukh Khan said, "Almost all of Dabur's factories are operational today, producing a range of ayurvedic medicines, hygiene products like hand sanitizers, hand wash, and daily essentials, with strict implementation of SOPs for social distancing at offices, workplace, factories, proper sanitization of buildings, factories".He further said, "We are now trying to maximize production, given the supply chain constraints, and material and manpower availability".Parle Products Category Head Mayank Shah said that food was exempted and factories were open but at a reduced capacity of around 40-45 per cent following the restraint imposed by the government on the number of workforce.IT companies are still awaiting clarity from a few other states to determine the future course of action.Industry body Nasscom had advised members that where state-specific approvals come in, members should look at a staggered approach and start with 15-20 per cent workforce in the first phase, and subsequently scale it up depending on the situation on the ground."The home ministry guidelines had allowed IT-ITeS companies to operate with up to 50 per cent strength from April 20 and we had suggested member companies to take a staggered approach and start with 15-20 per cent workforce in phase I, and then increase it depending on the on-ground situation," Nasscom Senior Vice-President and Chief Strategy Officer Sangeeta Gupta told .However, states also have their own rules that have to be followed for allowing IT companies to open offices, she said, adding that Uttar Pradesh and Delhi have already clarified that no such activity will be allowed."Also, IT companies are just settling into the work from the home mechanism, they have taken requisite permissions from clients for this, and so I do not think they will be in a hurry to get employees back to offices and risk their health," Gupta said.About 90 per cent of IT employees and 70-80 per cent of BPO and small and medium businesses in the sector are estimated to be working from home to ensure business continuity. Lockdown curbs ease but business activity remains sporadic

The Morgan Stanley report dated August 18 said the small and mid-cap (SMID) stocks went into a prolonged phase of underperformance after peaking in early January 2018. Between the end of 2017 and March 2020, the SMID indices were down more than 40% relative to the equity benchmark Sensex due to various reasons such as growth deceleration and relative valuations. “The COVID-19 related lockdown did not help matters but has marked a floor on the cohort’s relative performance as a forward-looking stock market is possibly anticipating better growth.
