Lenz stars as documentary filmmaker Erica Shaw in "So Cold the River" and talked to Insider about how she maintained her mental health while shooting material that she called "mentally exhausting and strenuous."In the new movie, in theaters and available on-demand now, Erica (Lenz) has given up making documentaries to make funeral memorial videos until she gets an offer she can't refuse to profile dying millionaire Campbell Bradford. It's darker than much of what Lenz has filmed in recent years, and she said that while doing work like this, "taking care of yourself is really important.""Some days I needed to have a drink with a friend, some days I needed to take a walk, some days I just needed to read, some days I needed to pray," she said about how she practiced self-care on set. Bacon said actress Kyra Sedgwick, who he's married to, helped inspire him doing the movie and come up with key elements for the Theo character. Bacon also talked about the things he puts himself through to get in the mood he needs to be in to make a thriller like this. In the case of this movie, it included sleeping in a secluded cabin.<h2>Kyra Sedgwick suggested the movie be about marriage troubles, and things she suggested he do in real life are in the movie</h2>Jason Guerrasio: Is it true that Kyra was the one who suggested to you and David that you guys do the movie around a troubled marriage?Kevin Bacon: David and I had done "Stir of Echos" 20 years ago and I had really been just bugging him to try to do something with me again. We had been bouncing different ideas around and Kyra had mentioned that if you are going to make a contained horror movie it might be fun to investigate a marriage.David and I were still talking about ideas and I just threw that out and I could see the wheels kind of turning in his mind.Guerrasio: Did Kyra inspire anything else?Bacon: I mean my wife has bought me countless journals that are all kind of scattered around the house that I have really never taken to writing in. A journal is a big thing in the movie. And she has encouraged me to meditate. To use those meditation apps. That I actually do just like my character. And David does, too. So there were things that were ripped from our personal lives that filtered into the script. Guerrasio: How did Blumhouse get involved?Bacon: It was pretty fast. It only took a year. We were far along in the process and I read "You Should Have Left." I was like, "Holy s---, this is really close to what we were already conceiving." Eventually, I got David to read it and he agreed it's great and we should get the rights to it. David put out a first draft and we sent it to [producer] Jason Blum and right away he said, "Don't make this with anybody else but me."<div type="image" title="You Should Have Left 2 Nick Wall Universal" height="3965" width="5948" msid="76453610" hostid="261"></div>Guerrasio: You have a long history of making horrors and thrillers. For you is it just the genre? Or do you need the story or character to be right? Bacon: It's never just the genre. It's not like I pick a job because it's like, "Let's see, time for a romantic comedy." It's all character-based. But I'm someone who does appreciate the genre. I am more drawn to the psychological thriller. "Get Out," "Hereditary," "Midsommar," "The Shining," "Rosemary's Baby." I did one slasher movie. I guess you can make a great one, but they are a little more simplistic to me. I like psychological thrillers because they are projects that have real high stakes. Life or death. And they are very challenging from an acting standpoint. There were all these layers that were put in very specifically by David so when we got Theo to the house he would be dealing with this paranoia.Guerrasio: A big one being that he's married to an actress and has insecurities about her spending her days doing love scenes.Bacon: 100%. And she's way too young for him. He is on the backside of his prime and he's not working. He's wealthy but feels irrelevant at this point in his life. So it's these nagging doubts.<h2>Bacon said he stayed in a spooky cabin during filming to keep him in the mood</h2>Guerrasio: Was Theo hard to shake once you were done playing him?Bacon: I'm really good when they say wrap. Like at the very end of the movie I'm able to let things go. When I'm doing it, not so much. I kind of have to keep my head in the game over the course of shooting. I mean, no one is walking around saying my character name. Guerrasio: Someone says, "Hey, Kevin." And you go, "No, it's Theo."Bacon: [Laughs.] No. I don't play that game. But the character does work its way into your dreams and you have some dark thoughts. In Wales, the villages didn't have many hotels and there were cabins near the house that were being used for dressing rooms and production offices. So one night I decided I would stay in a cabin. It was very quiet. Pitch black. No noise at all. It was great. Guerrasio: Wow. Los Angeles, Hrithik Roshan-starrer 'Fighter' was the highest grossing film of the weekend at the global box office, with box office revenues of $25.1 million. The film, directed by <keyword id="19910290" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="siddharth-anand" source="keywords">Siddharth Anand</keyword>, whose previous film, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Pathaan', was one of the biggest Indian hits of 2023, also stars Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, reports Variety. 'Fighter' revolves around the Indian Air Force and was released on January 25, ahead of Republic Day, a public holiday. The film depicts Indian conflicts with Pakistan and was banned across the Middle East where there is a large Pakistani migrant worker population. 'Fighter' released across 23 territories and recorded a $24.5 million worldwide weekend, with $20.8 million of that total earned in international territories, i.e. outside <keyword id="19905008" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="north-america" source="keywords">North America</keyword>. Including the Thursday numbers, it had worldwide cumulative collections of $25.1 million, as per the data from ComScore. In North America, 'Fighter' collected $3.7 million over the three-day weekend and $4.3 million over four days. In India, it collected $17.7 million over four days. In second place worldwide was Columbia Pictures' romantic comedy 'Anyone But You' with $19 million. After its sixth weekend on release the film has $127 million worldwide, with $71.1 million in North America. As per Variety, in third position, Amazon MGM's <keyword id="20153456" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jason-statham" source="keywords">Jason Statham</keyword> action-thriller 'The Beekeeper' earned $18.3 million and has a worldwide cumulative box office of $104 million, including $42.2 million from North America after three weekends on release. On the worldwide ranking, Warner Brothers' chocolatier origin story 'Wonka' starring <keyword id="20121860" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="timothee-chalamet" source="keywords">Timothee Chalamet</keyword>, placed fourth with $13.7 million. After seven weekends on release, the film has a sweet $552 million worldwide, including $195.1 million in North America. Rounding off the top five was <keyword id="20374103" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="searchlight" source="keywords">Searchlight</keyword>'s double Golden Globe-winning offbeat comedy 'Poor Things' distributed internationally by Disney, with $13.04 million. The film has collected $51 million worldwide, including $24.7 million in North America, after its eighth weekend on release.

Insider Today: Travel agents are back

Superstar <keyword id="6354583" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="salman-khan" source="Orion">Salman Khan</keyword> and playback singer <keyword id="1410178" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="arijit-singh" source="Orion">Arijit Singh</keyword> have joined hands for the first time for the upcoming film "Tiger 3". Production banner Yash Raj Films in a media statement stated about the two songs sung by Arijit in "Tiger 3". The first song "Leke Prabhu Ka Naam", a dance number featuring Salman and <keyword id="6354850" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="katrina-kaif" source="Orion">Katrina Kaif</keyword>, will be out on Monday. The second song is a romantic track. <keyword id="12352996" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pritam" source="Orion">Pritam</keyword>, the composer of "Tiger 3", expressed his excitement about the first partnership between the two renowned performers. "It was a collaboration that was waiting to happen. Salman Khan is one of the biggest superstars and Arijit Singh, our generation's top singing sensation. These two stalwarts coming together for a song was long overdue and we are thrilled that it is happening for 'Tiger 3'," Pritam said in a statement. The third installment in the "Tiger" franchise is directed by Maneesh Sharma. The spy-thriller will see Salman and Katrina reprising their roles. Sharma, best known for "Fan", said they are thrilled to unveil the first song, "Leke Prabhu Ka Naam" early next week. "We can't wait for 'Leke Prabhu Ka Naam' to drop next week! It's an out-and-out party track and having Arijit's voice on top of Salman's swag, is the cherry on top! Katrina's beauty and the chemistry between the two makes it the perfect formula to have everyone dancing! We had a lot of fun filming in Cappadocia, Turkey," the director said. The relations between Salman and Arijit had allegedly soured after the two had a tiff at an awards ceremony in 2014. Also starring Emraan Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, Revathi, Riddhi Dogra and Anant Vidhaat among others, "Tiger 3" is set to release worldwide on November 12.
