Samsung Electronics President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business <keyword id="20372974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="TM-Roh" source="keywords">TM Roh</keyword> was speaking at a media roundtable here on the sidelines of Samsung Unpacked 2024. <br /><br /> "The Indian market is very important to Samsung. We have operated the manufacturing facility since 1996, and we also have R&amp;D centres in India. Noida and Bengaluru R&amp;D centres have become one of the biggest R&amp;D centres of Samsung and MX business. <br /><br /> "They are busy developing flagship products as well as contributing to the development of <keyword id="22430809" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Galaxy-AI-technologies" source="keywords">Galaxy AI technologies</keyword>," Roh said, adding that these collaborations and efforts will continue in the future. <br /><br /> In January this year, Roh termed India as one of Samsung's important manufacturing bases and said that the Korean electronics major will start manufacturing laptops this year at its Noida facility. <br /><br /> "We are also working closely with component partners in the Indian market to strengthen infrastructure and supply chain. Samsung in talks with component partners to boost ops in India: TM Roh

<keyword id="10591" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="samsung" source="Orion">Samsung</keyword> has teased its upcoming foldable smartphones ahead of the <keyword id="4234070" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="galaxy-unpacked" source="Orion">Galaxy Unpacked</keyword> event which is scheduled to be held on July 26.<br /><br />"We have distilled the Samsung design philosophy into three Design Identities, each one with you at the centre: our products must be Essential, Innovative, and Harmonious," <keyword id="10443924" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tm-roh" source="Orion">TM Roh</keyword>, President and Head of MX Business at Samsung Electronics, said in a statement.<br /><br />According to <keyword id="4447955" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="roh" source="Orion">Roh</keyword>, these three "Design Identities" are "exemplified" by the company's latest hardware and software ecosystem.<br /><br />He further said that the act of folding and unfolding a smartphone seems simple, but that simplicity users feel is only achieved through a "rigorous focus on what is most essential and intuitive."<br /><br />"We've raised the standards for foldable smartphone ergonomics."<br /><br />A difference of a millimetre in a device's thickness might not sound like a big change, but every gram and millimetre in a foldable device requires an engineering breakthrough.<br /><br />"It demands craftsmanship with passion. When done well, the benefit to users is huge," Roh added.<br /><br />That's why the company has made the latest foldables slimmer and lighter than the previous generations.<br /><br />He also said, "With our Galaxy foldables, your self-expression reaches new levels with, literally, the most flexible camera experience in Samsung Galaxy. You can capture the perfect angle, hands-free."<br /><br />In 1996, Samsung committed to a philosophy -- "Inspired by Humans, Creating the Future."<br /><br />When the tech giant says, "Inspired by Humans," it doesn't just mean people. Samsung teases upcoming foldables ahead of 'Galaxy Unpacked'

Seoul, Korean electronics major <keyword id="10591" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="samsung" source="Orion">Samsung</keyword> expects its new foldable devices <keyword id="16652024" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="galaxy-fold-5" source="Orion">Galaxy Fold 5</keyword> and <keyword id="17424053" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="galaxy-flip-5" source="Orion">Galaxy Flip 5</keyword> will enable it to capture half of the super premium smartphone segment in India, currently dominated by iPhone maker Apple. Super premium smartphone segment comprises handsets priced above USD 1,000 (about Rs 82,000). <br /><br /> <keyword id="135365" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="samsung-electronics" source="Orion">Samsung Electronics</keyword> president and head of Mobile eXperience Business T M Roh said that the company aims to increase its market share to 50 per cent with the launch of Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5 in the super premium segment from 35 per cent at present. <br /><br /> "In the super premium segment, the Samsung foldable has about 35 per cent market share in the entire Indian market. And then now with the launch of Fold 5 and Flip 5, we are now targeting over 50 per cent in the USD-1,000 or higher super premium segment in India," Roh said. <br /><br /> According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung led the overall India market with 20 per cent market share in the first quarter of 2023 and its share in the ultra premium category, which is devices above Rs 45,000 apiece, increased by 247 per cent on a year-over-year basis. <br /><br /> However, Apple led the ultra premium segment with 62 per cent market share. <br /><br /> Roh said that India was earlier very sensitive to innovation but it has also become very open and receptive to innovation leading to a rapid increase in demand for high-end smartphones. <br /><br /> "Now the India market is sensitive to innovation. It's also very open and receptive to innovation. And also, the usage of the mobile device is also quite long. Also, another trend that we are seeing coming out of the Indian market is a very rapidly rising demand for high-end premium products," Roh said. <br /><br /> The Galaxy Fold 5 is priced between Rs 1.54 lakh and Rs 1.85 lakh apiece, depending on the internal storage capacity which ranges from 256 GB to 1 TB. Samsung Galaxy Flip 5 will be available in the price range of Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,09,999 apiece. <br /><br /> Samsung plans to launch the most expensive and high-end devices from its stable in India on August 18. <br /><br /> The company will make available its Galaxy Tab S9 series in the price range of Rs 72,999 to Rs 1,33,999 apiece and Galaxy Watch 6 series at a starting price of Rs 29,999 on the same dates as its new foldable devices. <br /><br /> Roh said apart from the India market, Samsung is seeing growth in demand for high-end premium products in Southeast Asian markets as well as some European markets. <br /><br /> Samsung has launched high-end premium foldable devices at a time when there has been a decline in overall smartphone shipment globally. <br /><br /> Roh said that he expects the market to recover in the second half of the year. <br /><br /> "There are predictions that in the second half things are going to recover year-over-year. But then the pace of the recovery, perhaps, is not going to be as fast as we would hope for. But having said that, in the premium and the high-end segment, I would say that relatively speaking, the demand has been sound and in particular going into the second half of the year, we believe that there is going to be growth YoY," he said. <br /><br /> Samsung has announced the manufacturing of Fold 5 and Flip 5 in India. <br /><br /> Roh said that even Samung's tablets and smartwatches are manufactured in India. <br /><br /> "India also has a very important manufacturing centre for Samsung Electronics, including mobiles. We have a production subsidiary in Noida. It is from there that we produce the ultra-premier products like Fold 5 and Flip 5. Not only that, but also watches and tablets. In other words, the full global lineup is produced there to be supplied not only to the Indian market, but to the rest of the world," Roh said. <br /><br /> He said that the foldable category is expected to top 30 million units of cumulative sales all over the world in 2023. <br /><br /> "It means that it's going to be an important tipping point this year where the foldable category is going to become a mainstream category. I do believe that the foldable category is going to expand to other categories like the tablet and PC and continue to develop," Roh said. <br /><br /> Counterpoint Research projects that global foldable smartphone shipments are projected to reach 101.5 million in 2027 from 78.6 million in 2026 and the segment will be dominated by Samsung and Apple. The firm anticipates Apple's foldable iPhone to debut in 2025. <br /><br /> According to market research and analysis firm Techarc estimates, foldable (including flip) smartphones will contribute over 1.8 per cent of the total smartphone revenues in 2023. <br /><br /> The estimate implies over 6.35 lakh foldable smartphones will be sold in India during the year, which will be less than 0.5 per cent of the total sales by volume estimated for the period.

Samsung remains the world's biggest smartphone maker and has managed to grow it share of the market, but overall there's greater competition from firms like Huawei and t<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-samsung-google-smartphone-decline-2019-5?r=US&amp;IR=T">here is fear of "peak smartphone"</a> as demand weakens.</p><p><a href="https://www.gartner.com/en/newsroom/press-releases/2019-11-26-gartner-says-global-smartphone-demand-was-weak-in-thi">According to US market research firm Gartner</a>, Samsung sold more smartphones worldwide in the third quarter of 2019 than any other firm with more than 20% of the market.</p><p>Its nearest rival was Huawei with 17%, followed by Apple, with 10.5%. While he's only been a realtor for three years, Habibi is already ranked in the top 6% of realtors in the San Francisco association.&#xa0;</p><p>On next week's episode, Roh has a $6 million cash offer for his client, Brenda. 'Million Dollar Listing: San Francisco' star faces seller who just won't negotiate in sneak peek clip

With Silicon Valley in their backyard and plenty of well-paid tech entrepreneurs descending on the&#xa0;city, the market is popping in the City by the Bay.</p><p class="cast-carousel__member">So, who are these guys and what makes them the best in San Fran?</p><p class="cast-carousel__member"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Andrew Greenwell</span><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></strong></p><p class="cast-carousel__member"><span><strong>Greenwell founded his own brokerage at age 19.</strong><br>He did so while earning his college degree at Florida State University, according to <a href="http://www.bravotv.com/people/andrew-greenwell" target="_blank">Bravo</a>. <keyword id="10591" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Samsung">Samsung</keyword> Electronics has denied rumours that it will discontinue the Galaxy Note series next year, saying the flagship phablet line will live on despite the rise of other premium devices.<br /><br />Speculation has arisen recently that Samsung may reconfigure its premium smartphone lineup with Galaxy Z foldables and Galaxy S devices after ditching the Galaxy Note family that is highlighted by S-Pen stylus features.<br /><br />"We are preparing to release the Galaxy Note series next year," a Samsung official told Yonhap news agency on condition of anonymity.<br /><br />On Wednesday, Samsung's mobile business chief Roh Tae-moon hinted in an editorial that the world's largest smartphone maker intends to support S-Pen stylus in more Galaxy devices in addition to the Galaxy Note phablets.<br /><br />Industry officials predict that Samsung may make the stylus available for the high-end model of the Galaxy S21 smartphone that is expected to be unveiled in January.<br /><br />While some people claimed that Roh's latest message points to Samsung's discontinuation of the Galaxy Note series, the official denied such speculation.<br /><br />"Roh's message does not mean that the Galaxy Note series will be discontinued," the official said.<br /><br />Samsung first introduced the Galaxy Note series in 2011. Samsung announces Galaxy Note 21 coming in 2021

Chennai, July 1 () Public sector Indian Bank on Wednesday announced the elevation of Arun Kumar Bansal as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with immediate effect. Prior to taking up the new role, Bansal was serving the city-based lender as its general manager, the bank said. Bansal succeeds P A Krishnan, who retired from services on June 30 on superannuation, it said in a BSE filing. Bansal(49) has over 29 years of service in the banking sector. He has served the bank in rural, urban and metro branches and also in the treasury and wealth management among many others, the bank said. VIJ ROH ROH
