'I love you, pepsi', says Superstar Yash as he becomes Pepsi's brand ambassador

<ul><li><keyword id="2838783" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="The-Embassy">The Embassy</keyword>, in New Delhi, is staring at least a ₹3 crore loss in revenue due to the coronavirus lockdown. </li><li>The restaurant employs 90 people and was forced to defer salaries of all its employees. </li><li>Even if the lockdown ends, only 20% of its customers will return to dine in, according to <keyword id="3456523" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="savar-malhotra">Savar Malhotra</keyword>, the third generation owner of The Embassy </li></ul>“We were closed for almost 2 months, we didn’t want to take risks by starting takeaways. I went to the restaurant for 2 hours a couple of days back after the norms were relaxed. There was nobody, just a few guards patrolling,” Savar Malhotra, partner at The Embassy, one of the first restaurants of independent India, told Business Insider India. The Embassy was started in the summers of 1948 by two friends — PN Malhotra and G.K Ghal — soon after they left Karachi and came back to India during partition. <div type="image" title="EMBASSY OLD PHOTO-1" msid="75967810" hostid="261"></div> Seventy years into business the restaurant has experienced the best and the worst moments of India from emergency in 1975 to the most-recent violent protest in India against Citizenship Amendment Act. It is popular for its Mughlai dishes, lauki ka achaar (bottle-gourd pickle), the <keyword id="3457878" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Embassy-Samosa">Embassy samosa</keyword> and mutton dishes like murgh musallam and dal meat. The 72-year old restaurant was a go-to place for many, from the last Viceroy of India Lord Mountbatten to Bollywood star <keyword id="6358412" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Raj-Kapoor">Raj Kapoor</keyword>, filmmaker <keyword id="2238" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yash-Chopra">Yash Chopra</keyword> and comedy star Kapil Sharma, to the former Finance Minister, the late Arun Jaitley, There was a time when regular customers used to include “9.30 am to 11.am Embassy Restaurant” on their visiting cards. However, the coronavirus outbreak has pushed a large number of restaurants at the brink of collapse —<a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/jobs/the-scary-numbers-a-jobs-crisis-like-no-other/restaurants/slideshow/75887310.cms"> risking the jobs of at least 7 million in India</a>. According to Malhotra, the Embassy is looking at least a ₹3 crore loss in revenues because of the complete shutdown. It was a bad year even before the pandemic <div type="image" title="images (1)." msid="75967839" hostid="261"></div>The troubles for the restaurant started way back in December last year when the consumer sentiments were dull due to violent protest in Delhi. “2020 has been a very difficult year for us. There were violent protests going on in Delhi against CAA (the Citizenship Amendment Act) from the start until February,” Malhotra said. The coronavirus outbreak added more to their miseries. With zero footfalls, the Embassy was forced to defer the salaries — worth ₹20 lakh — of all the 90 employees for an uncertain duration. “We didn’t announce any layoffs as some of them have worked with us for more than 50 years but all the payments were deferred. We try to pay those who ask for funds,” Malhotra told Business Insider India. Though Malhotra has planned to open the restaurant after lockdown, he is uncertain about what the post covid world will mean for them. The Embassy, which at a time can accommodate 400-500 people, will witness only 20% footfall as people won’t be risking their lives by dining out. There were also about a 1,000 people in a day visiting a small food joint owned by the restaurant in <keyword id="90899" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Connaught-Place">Connaught Place</keyword> before the COVID-19 pandemic but with change in consumer sentiment, Malhotra expects, there will be a major drop in footfalls. Malhotra wants the government to roll out a structured set of measures to bail out the restaurant industry in India. “We are not sure if covid-19 is transmitted through food or not. Moreover, we don’t even know the specific measures that we can take to prevent the spread of the virus,” he said. “Our goal for 2020-21 is not to make profit but to survive. We expected a lot from the government’s stimulus package but were left with nothing,” Malhotra said. <keyword id="1671" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shah-Rukh-Khan">Shah Rukh Khan</keyword>'s highly anticipated film "<keyword id="6385067" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="fan">Fan</keyword>", which features King Khan in a double role of a superstar and his obsessed fan, has impressed the audiences in India. The <keyword id="112723" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maneesh-Sharma">Maneesh Sharma</keyword> directorial has minted over Rs.19.20 crore on its opening day on Friday. 
 
Made on a budget of Rs.105 crore, including publicity and advertisements, "Fan" released in over 3500 screen in India and over 4600 screens around the world. The film, which also stars Waluscha De Sousa and Shriya Pilgaonkar, has collected Rs.19.20 crore on its opening day, said a statement. 
 
Released under the Yash Raj Films banner, "Fan" tells the story of Gaurav, who wishes to meet his favourite star Aryan and later turns obsessed by him and tries to destroy his stardom. 
 
Interestingly, both the characters have been played by Shah Rukh himself. 
Not only the critics and the audience, the film has been given a thumbs up by a lot of celebrities who have applauded the film over social media. 
 With such an impressive start, the buzz for the film is now expected to grow at the box office over the weekend, says trade analyst <keyword id="107593" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Taran-Adarsh">Taran Adarsh</keyword>. 
 
"'Fan' records fantastic biz on Friday. Multiplexes/metros are rocking. Friday Rs.19.20 crore. India biz. Saturday and Sunday biz is crucial to put up a strong total," Adarsh posted on Twitter.

SRK's 'FAN' mints a whopping Rs 19.20 crore on opening day

Here in, we have one sharp look at the professional journey of one of the most popular young actresses of Indian cinema. 
 
1. The first time we saw Shraddha Kapoor on the silver screen was when she donned the role of a studious geek Aparna Khanna who volunteers in a poker experiment. The year was 2010 and the movie that marked her debut was <keyword id="16035" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Teen-Patti">Teen Patti</keyword>, in which she starred along Amitabh Bachchan and R. Madhavan. The movie could not do well at the box office, resulting in a career setback for Shraddha. 4. Next in line for the lady was a guest role in Dharma Productions’ Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, in which she played Vasudha, a Tamilian girl in love with a Sikh boy. The lead pair of the movie was Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, and Shraddha’s role was limited to a few scenes. 
 
5. Came 2014 and Shraddha was seen as Ayesha in another musical romantic thriller Ek Villain. Her role was that of a young girl who falls in love with a goon and transforms him into a family man, only to be killed by a psychopath killer. Her role in the movie was limited to a few flashback scenes other than some songs, given the fact that her character gets killed in the first 15 minutes. 
 
6. Towards the end of 2014, we saw the pretty lady doing a role in Haider, for ace director Vishal Bhardwaj. She portrayed the role of Arshiya, a young Kashmiri journalist in love with the main lead, played by Shahid Kapoor. Her performance and hard work in the movie to get into the skin of a Kashmiri girl were appreciated. 
 
7. She also did an item number, called Dance Basanti, in the movie Ungli. 
 
8. In 2015, she would be seen in Remo D’souza’s next <keyword id="1870207" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ABCD-2">ABCD 2</keyword>, which is the sequel to 2013’s ABCD: Any Body Can Dance. She is paired opposite Varun Dhawan and portrays a dancer in the movie. Reportedly, she has been working hard to get into the shoes of a dancer. The movie would release in June 2015. 
 
9. She would also began shooting for Rock On 2, the sequel to Rock On!!, which released in 2008. The movie would also stars Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli and would be shot in Shillong. 
 
10. Other than acting, Shraddha Kapoor also has a passion for singing, given her relations with Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle, two of India’s most reputed singers. Shraddha’s mother Shivangi Kapoor is the daughter of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle’s paternal aunt. Shivangi herself is a trained singer, and Shraddha has surely got her singing skills from her. In the recently concluded Global Indian Music Awards, Shraddha Kapoor was awarded the ‘Celebrity Singer Of The Year’ award.
