On the other hand, Saregama a consolidated PAT for the second quarter as ₹194 million in comparison to ₹12 million in last quarter and ₹157 million in last year same quarter. The music label’s licensing Income continued on its growth trajectory and registered a 21% growth in revenue on Y-o-Y basis in H1 FY20. In spite of lower footfalls in Consumer Durable and Telecom outlets during this festival season, Carvaan sales managed to grow. The number of units sold went up by 14% Q-o-Q to ₹2,50,000, and 19% on half yearly basis to ₹4,69,000. The company continued its focus on increasing its penetration in mid and small-towns through awareness campaign and distribution network expansion. This was a great quarter for the films division, Yoodlee, which licensed 4 movies during this quarter; out of which 2 movies were delivered to Hotstar.

ZEEL's all India viewership share stood at 18.2% in Q3. The network also launched 2 new channels – Zee Zest and Zee Vajwa, taking the network channel count to 47. ZEE5 global's MAUs and DAUs stood at 65.9 million and 5.4 million respectively in Dec’20 and it released 7 movies on ‘Pay Per View’ model. The report also stated that while its share is back to pre-COVID levels, overall network share has seen a decline due to FTA channels losing share and decline in the overall Hindi movie genre.

ZEEL's domestic ad revenue for Q3FY21 grew by 7.5% YoY

<keyword id="18635" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon" source="Orion">Amazon</keyword> Web Services (<keyword id="291131" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aws" source="Orion">AWS</keyword>), the Cloud arm of Amazon, has seen its revenue increasing 39 per cent to $16.11 billion in the September quarter, as customers of all sizes and across all industries are using AWS as the preferred cloud provider for machine learning services. AWS generated $4.88 billion in operating income in the July-September period. "AWS has seen a re-acceleration of revenue growth as customers have expanded their commitment to the cloud and selected AWS as their cloud partner," said Brian T Olsavsky, SVP and Chief Financial Officer. A lot of customers are accelerating their journey to cloud based on the pandemic. "We're expanding our customer base into a lot of different areas, a lot new different customers we add. Many new products highlighted a few of our machine learning products. So we feel really good about the acceleration in growth," Olsavsky said during the company's earnings call late on Thursday. Because of AWS performance, Amazon's Q3 revenue of $110.8 billion represented a two-year compounded annual growth rate of 25 per cent versus a pre-pandemic growth rate in the low-20 per cent range, the company said. For the first time, sales from Amazon services have surpassed its retail sales. While net product sales were $54.9 billion, revenue from AWS, advertising, third-party seller services and Prime subscriptions were $55.9 billion. Amazon Web Services reports 39% increase in revenue in Q3

New Delhi, The <keyword id="4914195" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gst-revenues" source="Orion">GST revenues</keyword> for August 2023 have shown a growth of 11 per cent year on year due to increased compliance and less evasion, Revenue secretary Sanjay Malhotra said on Friday. The collection from <keyword id="6359833" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="goods-and-services-tax" source="Orion">Goods and Services Tax</keyword> (<keyword id="6354679" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="gst" source="Orion">GST</keyword>) was Rs 1,43,612 crore in August 2022. "Roughly numbers are in the range of 11 per cent year on year growth as in earlier months," Malhotra told reporters. A 11 per cent growth roughly translates to around Rs 1.60 lakh crore. He was replying to a question on the expected GST revenue numbers for August, the data for which will be released later on Friday. Malhotra said GDP growth was 7.8 per cent in June quarter and nominally it has grown 8 per cent. "GST revenues during June quarter grew by more than 11 per cent. This translates into a tax:GDP ratio of more than 1.3," Malhotra said. Malhotra said GST collections have grown by more than nominal GDP and this is despite no increase in tax rates. This is because of better compliance and improved tax collection efficiency. Tax evasion and avoidance is low.

According to <keyword id="6439913" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="counterpoint-Research" source="Orion">Counterpoint Research</keyword>, the global smartphone market declined by 18 per cent (year-over-year) to reach 304 million units in Q4 2022. "The smartphone market remained under pressure in the fourth quarter of 2022 as the cost-of-living crisis, shortage in the labour market and a decline in consumers' purchasing power resulted in double-digit declines in the shipments of each of the top five smartphone players," said Senior Analyst Harmeet Singh Walia. Moreover, Apple achieved an all-time high revenue share of 48 per cent in 2022, and also captured the highest-ever operating profit share of 85 per cent. "Having proficiently managed its production problems, Apple was able to weather a year already marred by economic and geopolitical turmoil better than other major smartphone players," said Research Director Jeff Fieldhack. Chinese smartphone players suffered from domestic lockdowns for much of the year in addition to facing global economic and geopolitical difficulties, said the report. As a result, the shipments of Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo fell by more than 20 per cent each. Despite offering premium phones at aggressive margins, Chinese brands have yet to break into the premium market and have been unable to fully capitalise on Huawei's decline, the report added.
