But the website turned out to be fake and instead Wein was caught by the police and received jail time. The interesting thing here is that the website was made as a joke with multiple clues that would make anyone realise it’s fake but looks like some people are just very gullible. The <keyword id="12596926" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rentahitman-website" source="Orion">RentAHitman website</keyword> has a very detailed description of what it does, its services and even testimonials from its customers. It has claims about being safe and private, and how it has over 17,895 U.S. based field operatives but all of this information is displayed in a way that anyone would realise the website is a joke. But not for Wein who actually filled out a form with all her information and also the person whom they want killed, according to a <a href="https://gizmodo.com/a-woman-pleads-guilty-to-using-rentahitman-com-to-try-t-1848115123">report</a> by Gizmodo. Wein then agreed to meet one of the field operatives who was actually an undercover police detective. How did this happen? The website owner Bob Innes informed the police about Wein who sought the service thinking it’s real. “She was hellbent on... seeking revenge to take out her ex-husband,” Innes was quoted as saying to the Washington Post. Wein met the undercover cop, gave details of her ex-husband saying that he’s a pedophile, and even offered $200 for the murder and $5,000 once the job is done. Wein was later arrested by the police, produced in court and is now facing a minimum of seven years in prison. The idea behind RentAHitman RentAHitman was created in 2005 by Innes to start a cybersecurity company with some of his friends. That didn’t work out and he couldn’t sell the domain name so the website was just left like that. Innes decided to check the website’s email years later and found some 300 requests from people globally seeking its services. Not the first person fooled Wein was the most recent case but turns out there have been many other people serious about using RentAHitman to take down people. Innes saw some legitimate requests and started working with law enforcement to inform about these people which even led to some arrests. There were some crazy requests like this one woman from Kansas who wanted guns, bombs or anything to take down the targeted people. RentAHitman is still very active and Innes continues to inform the police about people who can be potentially dangerous. Now, Innes manages the site filled with fake testimonials from fictional customers, but he forwards requests he thinks could be dangerous to law enforcement, the Post reported.The court documents said Garcia submitted an application to the site in February, following up several times, and then reiterating his belief that his "military experience, and rifle expertise" made him qualified to perform mercenary work.The resume Garcia submitted stated that he has been a member of the Air National Guard since July 2021, and he told the site's owner and investigators that he was unemployed other than his Guard work.According to the complaint, the FBI directed Innes to inform Garcia on March 16 that he would be contacted by a "field coordinator" to discuss his first assignment. On April 3, an undercover FBI agent used the number Garcia provided to Innes, and the two spoke several times on the phone and by text before meeting in person.Garcia confirmed to the agent that he was not a member of law enforcement, and the complaint alleges that he hoped his military employment wouldn't interfere with his ability to make money as a contract killer. The agent told Garcia several times that he could back out at any time, and that he would only be committing a crime if he agreed to commit a murder and take payment.Prosecutors said in the complaint that Garcia only asked how soon he could start, and about the payments, and that Garcia told the agent multiple times that he had been looking into contract killing as a way to make money for a long time, and was comfortable with the psychological impact.Garcia is accused of taking half of a $5,000 contract and accepting an assignment to kill a fictional person described as an abusive husband at a meeting earlier this week. He was arrested after allegedly asking if he needed to provide a photo of the body as proof. Authorities said they discovered an AR-style rifle upon searching Garcia's home, and that he had told the undercover agent he was planning to buy a handgun.Court documents show that he came to the meeting intending to tell the "field coordinator" that he was having second thoughts because he had recently secured another job. Innes told the magazine that he decided up the humor by adding phony testimonials and awards. When a potential customer reaches out for their "services," he waits a day to reach back out to them. After they show interest in hiring a hitman, he connects them with an "operative," which happens to be one of the thousands of police departments across the country, per the report.
