The oil-to-telecom-and-retail conglomerate's consolidated net profit stood at Rs 18,951 crore, or Rs 28.01 per share, in January-March quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal compared to Rs 19,299 crore, or Rs 28.52 a share, a year ago, according to a company's stock exchange filing. <br /><br /> The profit was, however, higher quarter-on-quarter when compared to Rs 17,265 crore in October-December period. <br /><br /> For the full fiscal FY24 (April 2023 to March 2024), Reliance posted a record net profit of Rs 69,621 crore as compared to Rs 66,702 crore earnings in the preceding financial year. <br /><br /> Reliance also became the first Indian company to hit Rs 10 lakh crore turnover in FY24 when revenue from operations rose 2.6 per cent from Rs 9.74 lakh crore in 2022-23. <br /><br /> The oil-to-chemicals (O2C) business, the main milch cow, posted a rise in profitability annually as well as sequentially, while retail business' earnings rose on new store openings despite lower footfalls. The firm helmed by billionaire <keyword id="19916798" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mukesh-Ambani" source="keywords">Mukesh Ambani</keyword> saw telecom revenues soar as it outpaced competition in subscriber addition and data traffic. <br /><br /> While quarterly EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) was up 14.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 47,150 crore, registering growth across all businesses, the revenue from operations rose almost 11 per cent to Rs 2.64 lakh crore. <br /><br /> The mainstay oil refining and petrochemicals business, called O2C, posted a 11 per cent rise in revenue and a 3 per cent higher EBITDA at Rs 16,777 crore in Q4. <br /><br /> This was primarily because of "advantageous" sourcing of feedstock (crude oil) for refining business and use of ethane for making chemicals as well as higher domestic product placement, a company statement said, adding exports were down 8.5 per cent. <br /><br /> With the consumer base swelling to 481.8 million from 470.9 million at the end of December on a flat per-user revenues of Rs 181.7, Reliance <keyword id="21397660" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jio-Infocomm-Ltd" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Jio Infocomm Ltd" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Jio Infocomm Ltd">Jio Infocomm Ltd</keyword> - the digital services business - posted a 12 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 5,583 crore in the fourth quarter of FY24. Also, aiding the business was rise in data traffic to 40.9 billion GB in January-March from 38.1 billion GB in the preceding quarter. <br /><br /> For the full year, Jio posted a profit of Rs 21,424 crore as compared to Rs 19,124 crore in FY23. <br /><br /> Profits from the retail business climbed 11.7 per cent to Rs 2,698 crore as store count rose to 18,836 from 18,774. Store footfalls dropped to 272 million from 282 million in October-December 2023 but were higher than 219 million recorded in January-March 2023. <br /><br /> Oil and gas EBITDA soared 47.5 per cent to Rs 5,606 crore as higher gas volumes partly offset lower price realisation. <br /><br /> The firm's flagship KG-D6 block in Krishna Godavari basin in the Bay of Bengal is now producing about 30 million standard cubic metres per day of gas and 23,000 barrels a day of oil/condensate. <br /><br /> The company said its outstanding debt rose to Rs 3.24 lakh crore from Rs 3.11 lakh crore in December-end. After accounting for cash in hand, net debt at Rs 1.16 lakh crore as on March 31 was lower than Rs 1.25 lakh crore a year back. <br /><br /> Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of <keyword id="20076630" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-industries-limited" source="keywords">Reliance Industries Limited</keyword>, said all segments of business have posted a robust financial and operating performance. <br /><br /> "This has helped the Company achieve multiple milestones. I am happy to share that this year, Reliance became the first Indian company to cross the Rs 1 lakh-crore threshold in pre-tax profits," he said. <br /><br /> Performance of the digital services segment has been boosted by accelerated expansion of subscriber base, supported by both mobility and fixed wireless services, he said. "With over 108 million True 5G customers, Jio truly leads the 5G transformation in India." <br /><br /> <keyword id="19901342" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-retail" source="keywords">Reliance Retail</keyword>, he said, continued to provide customers endless choices through its robust omni-channel presence. <br /><br /> "We continue to offer product differentiation and superior offline experience through stores re-modelling and revamping of layouts. Our digital commerce platforms also provide newer solutions to users with a broad brand catalogue," Ambani said. <br /><br /> Strong demand for fuels globally, and limited flexibility in refining system worldwide supported margins and profitability of the O2C segment. <br /><br /> "Downstream chemical industry experienced increasingly challenging market conditions through the year. Reliance Industries quarterly profit stays flat; annual earnings hit record at ₹69,621 crore

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Carvana's stock has surged over 7,000% since December 2022, reaching a $52 billion valuation.</li><li>The company was near bankruptcy in 2022 amid financial struggles and high interest rates.</li></ul><p><a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/aapl-stock">Carvana</a> investors have been on a roller coaster ride over the past couple of years, and for those who could hang on, it's paid off big time.</p><p>The used-car dealer, famous for its car tower vending machines, was <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/used-vehicle-retailer-carvana-bankruptcy-car-buyers-inventory-2022-12">on the verge of bankruptcy</a> in December 2022, and its stock price crashed 98% to a valuation of about $400 million.</p><p>The stock has since soared more than 7,000% to a $52 billion valuation, and its latest earnings release shows that the company is hitting new records. </p><p>In its third-quarter earnings report, Carvana reported record adjusted EBITDA of $429 million on about $3.7 billion in revenue, far surpassing Wall Street estimates.</p><p>Meanwhile, total cars sold surged 34% to 108,651 units in the quarter. Shares of Carvana surged about 22% on Thursday following the results, trading at $248.82 as the market headed into the close. </p><p>"Carvana's exceptional results underscore our position as the fastest-growing and most profitable automotive retailer," Carvana CEO Ernie Garcia said.</p><p>It's a remarkable turnaround for a company that <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/carvana-stock-price-used-cars-interest-rates-dollar-morgan-stanley-2022-11">was virtually left for dead by investors two years ago</a> when it experienced a credit crunch due to an overextended balance sheet and a weakening consumer outlook. It didn't help that funding options dried up as the Federal Reserve aggressively hiked interest rates in 2022 and 2023.</p><p>Carvana successfully <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.ft.com/content/6bdbd28e-2586-46a9-b082-04f5dbeeb637">fended off creditors,</a> including Apollo Global Management, and convinced them to take a $1.3 billion haircut on their underwater bonds as the company raced to slash costs and right-size its business.</p><p>The massive bet, led by CEO and founder Ernie Garcia, paid off, and it appears Wall Street is starting to play catch-up on the Carvana story.</p><p>More than 10 Wall Street firms raised their price targets on Thursday following the company's solid earnings results. According to Bloomberg data, the average Carvana price target is around $200, still below the $255 per share price at which the stock traded Thursday afternoon, leaving room for more potential upgrades in the future.</p><p>JPMorgan raised its price target for the stock to $300 per share and reiterated its "Overweight" rating in a note on Thursday.</p><p>"3Q24 results should be seen as a clearing event that is likely to diminish any lingering concerns/skepticism around CVNA's recent progress on unit economics with focus shifting to the unique benefits of the operating model and widening moat vs peers, reinforced by the recent foray into commercial - retail marketplace that unlocks a significant profit opportunity with infrastructure and resources to scale," JPMorgan said.</p><p>Despite the strong rally over the past 22 months, Carvana stock is still 32% below its record high of $376.83 reached in August 2021. </p><p>Here's a look at the company's stock price since going public in 2017.</p><div type="image" title="Carvana stock price" height="887" width="1737" msid="114826413" hostid="261" sizebytes="34346"></div>

This is also the first instance where an international giant (Hyundai Motor Group is based out of South Korea) will be listing its subsidiary (<keyword id="19908548" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-Motor-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Hyundai Motor India" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Hyundai Motor India">Hyundai Motor India</keyword>) in an overseas market. <br /><br />Additionally, the company is also looking to raise Rs 8,315.28 crore from <keyword id="21330641" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="anchor-investors" source="keywords">anchor investors</keyword>, who will begin bidding on October 14th, 2024. Hyundai is the third largest auto original equipment manufacturer (OEM) globally, based on passenger vehicle sales.<br /><br /> "We have been in India now for more than 26 years. We have a very high market share. We are at number two position in India in the passenger vehicle space. We have got so much love and affection from the people of India. So we believe this is the right time to take one step forward and even further Indianize our operations," Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) COO Tarun Garg told PTI in an interaction. <br /><br />Garg further added that the whole aim is to really become the most trusted brand of India. On being asked why they choose India for launching their IPO, he noted that the brand Hyundai has really been accepted very well in India, which is why it is probably the right country to really go for the IPO. <br /><br />Hyundai has set a price band of Rs 1,865-1,960 per share for the IPO, taking the company's valuation to Rs 1.6 lakh crore, or $19 billion. For <keyword id="19972907" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="retail-investors" source="keywords">retail investors</keyword>, the minimum lot size is 7 shares, while the minimum investment amount is Rs 13,720. Out of the total issue, 35% has been reserved for retail investors, which will give them a fair shot at owning HMIL shares. Also, 7,78,400 shares have been allocated for employees, which will be offered at a discount of Rs 186 to the issue price.<br /><br />Most experts are suggesting subscribing to the IPO from a medium to long-term perspective. According to Bajaj Broking's IPO note, "The issue relatively appears fully priced, but the company is poised for bright prospects post completion of its ongoing expansions. The company reported PAT margins of 6.05% (FY22), 7.67% (FY23), 8.50% (FY24), 8.48% (Q1-FY25), and RoCE (return on capital employed)margins of 20.37%, 28.75%, 62.90%, 13.69% for the referred periods, respectively. We recommend to subscribe the IPO with a long-term perspective". <br /><br />Notably, the entire IPO is an <keyword id="19951016" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="OFS" source="keywords">OFS</keyword> (offer for sale) meaning that the company will not receive anything from this. This was soon eclipsed by Reliance Power's IPO worth Rs 11,563.20 crore in January 2008.  At 70X+subscription, it was massively oversubscribed in retail, QIB and HNI segments. The company managed to garner  Rs 7.5 lakh crore as against its issue size of Rs 11,000 crore. <br /><br />Then came government's (GOI) disinvestment in Coal India in 2010, which had a book size of 15,199.44 crores. After a 10-year lull, Paytm's Rs 18,300 crore IPO broke this slumber in 2021. This was short lived because GOI decided to disinvest a small stake in LIC of India with a massive Rs 21,000 crore IPO in 2022, which was oversubscribed 2.95 times.<br />

Upcoming IPO aimed to Indianize operations, says Hyundai Motors

<ul><li><keyword id="7887330" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-retail-revenue" source="Orion">Reliance Retail revenue</keyword> ₹57,714 crore in the third quarter (Q3) of FY21.</li><li>This is ₹20,000 crore higher than the revenue it reported in the same quarter last year.</li><li><keyword id="58448" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-retail" source="Orion">Reliance Retail</keyword> spent over $1 billion on acquisitions and strategic partnerships between April to December 2021.</li></ul>Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Retail — a subsidiary of oil-to-chemical conglomerate <keyword id="6355199" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-industries" source="Orion">Reliance Industries</keyword> (RIL) — has reported its highest ever revenue in the October to December quarter of financial year 2022. <br /><br />The company’s revenue crossed ₹57,714 crore in the third quarter (Q3) of FY21, which is nearly ₹20,000 crore higher than the revenue it reported in the same quarter last year. <br /><br />It has also surpassed Reliance Retail’s January-March quarter (FY20) revenue by ₹10,000 crore. Our digital services business has delivered broad based, sustainable, and profitable growth through improved customer engagement and subscriber mix,” Mukesh Ambani, chairperson and managing director of Reliance Industries, said.<br /><br />Reliance Retail has witnessed strong growth momentum in fashion and lifestyle business as well as groceries.
