The company's active subscribers stand at 383.66 million users out of its 387.33 million users, which is 99.05% of its total user base. <h2>Vi continues to bleed subscribers</h2>Vi, which is yet to launch 5G services in the country has once again reported a huge decline in subscribers. The company lost nearly 1.41 million users in July 2024. The company’s subscriber base decreased from 217.30 million in June 2024 to 215.88 million users in July 2024. Out of the 215.88 million users, the company’s active user base stands at 185.23 million users, which is 85.80%. <h2>Reliance Jio also records a decline in users</h2>Reliance Jio, which has been continuously increasing its subscriber base lost 7,58,463 subscribers in July 2024. With this, Jio's subscriber base has decreased from 476.53 million in June 2024 to 475.77 million in July 2024. Out of the 475.77 million subscribers, the company’s active subscriber base stood at 440.73 million, which is 92.64%. <h2>MNP requests continue to grow</h2>Mobile number portability (MNP), which allows users to shift from one telecom operator to another, recorded 13.68 million requests during July 2024. This quarter also saw increased porting to the government-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), from private operators as tariffs were not raised by the telco. The report says SIM consolidation is expected to be largely over by the end of the third quarter of the current fiscal. It adds that besides tariff hikes, ARPU for the sector will continue to grow also led by subscribers moving from 2G to 4G and growth in post-paid subscribers. The automaker had<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/hyundai-motor-india-files-draft-papers-with-sebi-for-indias-biggest-ipo/articleshow/111014559.cms"> filed papers</a> with SEBI in June 2024 and has finally received approval. The company plans on raising $3 billion (approx. ₹25,000 crore) at a valuation of $20 billion. The company established its first manufacturing plant in India in 1998, followed by a second plant in 2008. In FY24, Hyundai Motor India was the country’s second-largest carmaker after Maruti Suzuki. Hyundai is offering 14.2 crore shares with a face value of ₹10 each, which is around 17.5% stake in the company. While there is no official announcement yet, the IPO is expected to hit the street in October 2024. That is until Reliance Jio’s IPO hits the street. Jio is expected to raise around ₹55,000 crore from the market. Hyundai has become the first car maker to go public in India in over two decades. The last car maker to go public was Maruti Suzuki, which held its IPO in 2003. Apart from this, Tata Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra are listed in the Indian stock market. Over the past year, Hyundai Motor Group has announced new investment plans in India totalling approximately $3.75 billion. The company has already invested around $5 billion in the country. This is where all the processing and storage will reportedly happen. What this basically means is that you don’t have to get the latest processors and expensive storage to get the performance of a top end laptop. You can just buy the laptop from Jio, which will likely feature an entry-level chipset. All the computing and storage will occur on the JioCloud and you will need an active internet connection to access this data, unlike traditional laptops where you can access files on your device without the need of an internet connection. “The cost of a laptop depends on its hardware like memory, processing power, chipset etc. The greater capacity of these hardware increases costs as well as battery power. What we are doing is, we are stripping all this and the whole processing of the laptop will happen at the back end in the Jio cloud,” an official familiar with the matter told ET. In addition to the cost of the laptop, the user will reportedly also be charged a monthly subscription fee to use this service. At the moment, there is no information about what the subscription plans will look like but we can expect multiple tiers, based on performance and storage capacity.
