Realme is all set to launch its first 55-inch TV in the first half of October in India which will come with an industry-leading and eye-friendly SLED screen. According to industry sources, the 55-inch Realme smart TV will also support the latest Dolby Audio solution to bring more interesting, rich audio quality to TV sound. With Dolby Audio, Realme smart TV can split and play sound in discrete channels from the front, side and rear sides to create a surround sound effect and bring an immersive experience, the sources told IANS on Friday. The SLED display technology is co-developed by Realme and John Rooymans, chief scientist of SPD Technology (Spectral Power Distribution). Adopting leading SPD technology for TV blacklight, the Realme TV will have super ultra-wide colour gamut and eye-care with low blue light. While most LED TVs including QLED use only a blue backlight which is then turned to white, SLED uses Red, Green and Blue (RGB) LED light for the initial stage, hence reducing the harmful effects of blue light and providing higher colour purity. The white backlight formed from RGB offers a high ability of colour representation, achieving more notable wider colour gamut and eye protection than QLED. Comparing it to a regular LED TV which has a colour gamut of only 72 per cent NTSC, SLED offers an NTSC colour gamut up to 108 per cent. With the RGB-powered backlight, SLED is also healthier for eyes. The lesser the blue light, the healthier your eye would be. In an impetus to the Make in India initiative, Realme has started 100 per cent TV production at its Greater Noida facility. Realme kicked off the surface-mount technology (SMT) production in May for its affordable smart TVs. The Realme Smart TVs are available in two sizes - 32-inch model and a 43-inch variant. Realme's 55-inch TV with SLED screen expected to launch in India next month

<ul><li><keyword id="2210217" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="oneplus" source="Orion">OnePlus</keyword> U1S 65-inch is among the best 65-inch TVs on a budget that come with all the popular smart features.</li><li>It’s been used for over a hundred hours and it’s managed to impress in most areas except for a couple.</li></ul>It's been over two years since OnePlus got into the TV segment with its premium Q1 and Q1 Pro. While after two years, the premium QLED TVs are still a great deal for the price, the company decided to follow up with budget variants for a wider consumer base. The latest in the portfolio is its U-series TVs that don't use the QLED panels but is a value offering for those who are ok to have an IPS LED panel in bigger size and lesser price, which is usual in this segment. I have been using the 65-inch U1S TV for over four months which is a fair amount of time to find out whether it's a safe investment or not as it’s been used for over a hundred hours. It has received a handful of software updates refining the user experience over time, and some initial bugs have also been fixed. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Price and competition" comment="subhead" text="Price and competition">Price and competition</cmsannotation> If you're looking to buy a 65-inch TV, you must read this review because this TV might save you some money. The OnePlus U1S 65-inch retails at ₹66,999, and its counterparts from Sony, LG and Samsung cost between ₹90,000-1,00,000, while brands like Xiaomi, HiSense and others are priced similarly. The Redmi X65 4K LED TV comes closest to taking on the U1S at ₹60,000. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="OnePlus U1S display performance" comment="subhead" text="OnePlus U1S display performance">OnePlus U1S display performance</cmsannotation> The U1S, as mentioned, has an IPS panel with 4K resolution and supports HDR 10, HDR 10+ but no Dolby Vision. The picture quality on the panel is splendid regardless of the low cost and the panel type. You can't compare it to more expensive counterparts having OLED or QLED but the colour accuracy and tones look very close to natural in both HDR and SDR content. Even more impressive is that the blacks look great, which is an uncommon trait on IPS panels and the same goes for the viewing angles and dark scenes. It's been a go-to screen for me for quite some time for dozens of shows and movies that came out during the course. The HDR performance of the TV is quite impressive for the price but it falls short in some areas compared to slightly premium competitors from Philips and Vu which are priced around 80K, and at that price, the best bet is to go for the 55-inch OnePlus Q1 Pro. While there's no Dolby Vision support, the HDR 10 and 10+ does enhance the results for HDR content if supported. The colour reproduction and tones, sharpness and brightness are very impressive. Even for SDR content, the quality was at par with the best in this range, it shows evenly saturated colour tones and crisp details with ample brightness. There's also an option to change picture modes and other settings like brightness, warmth etc to suit your preference. But of all the modes, we liked the 'Movie' the best for watching shows and movies. It also upscales regular 24fps and 30fps content to 60fps without showing any sign of stutter with the help of MEMC. It's great to watch fast-moving content like sports and even movies that support a higher refresh rate. I did not notice any banding or clouding issue, which used to be a common trait on LED panels, but this one does a great job in that department. I would recommend you to keep the TV in a position where there's no light source on the opposite sides as you might see the reflection on the screen in dark scenes. Even with the peak brightness, the issue sustains and it can be seen in the pictures I took of the TV. If you're a gamer with any of the new consoles with support for high refresh rate at 4K resolution, this TV can do a fair job for gaming as well. it supports HDMI 2.1 with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) which turns on as soon as you plug your console. I used my PS5 to play some new titles like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima and some multiplayer games like Fifa 21, and Rocket League and I didn't find a reason to complain unless your expectations are supremely high. It handles 60fps well, has great black levels and doesn't miss a single particle effect. Ghosts of Tsushima is a visual treat in itself and the TV doesn't upset in showing the beautiful horizons in their full glory. Details like the blowing wind, greenery, water and even combat sequences look great. Overall, this TV is tuned well for content ranging from animated cartoons to dark DC movies. Not only that, but gamers can also resort to this one if OLED and QLEDs are out of budget and the size matters more than the picture quality. Overall, the TV has a good panel for content consumption and gaming and this is where the praises for the TV come to an end as we will now venture into areas that have some issues that could affect your purchase decision. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Audio performance" comment="subhead" text="Audio performance">Audio performance</cmsannotation> As soon as I set up this TV, I went to YouTube to check the audio and I was a little disappointed. Not that I enjoy the audio now, but software updates over the months has improved the audio performance by a thick margin. The TV also supports Dolby Atmos, which means you can attach a supported soundbar or speaker if you wish to experience the best of what it has to offer. <div type="image" title="OnePlus TV Audio." msid="87667218" hostid="261"></div>The TV's audio is tuned in collaboration with Dynaudio and has two bottom-firing speaker units with 30W output. I am not a fan of built-in speakers on affordable TVs as the content nowadays is made for bigger and better speakers just like the screens. While the U1S does a fair job at voice clarity, loudness and definition, the bass response leaves you asking for more. You won't have the best experience watching a movie or even listening to a song unless you connect it to an external speaker. It's good enough for family members who watch daily soaps, cartoons, podcasts, news or even for gaming. So, investing in an external speaker is suggested only if you wish the get a theatre-like movie watching experience at home. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="User Interface and performance" comment="subhead" text="User Interface and performance">User Interface and performance</cmsannotation> Like all OnePlus TVs, the U1S also comes with Android TV 10 with a layer of OxygenPlay on top. It's a hybrid OS, which means you can operate in either of the two with a click of a button, which is a good addition as a preferential alternative. It offers tons of customisation options, modes and features but thankfully it doesn't make the interface look cluttered or ugly. Even kids and first time smart TV users can navigate through with ease. It offers multiple casting options like Miracast, Chromecast, and DLNA. There's also a seamless Google Assistant support that is accurate and fast, but at times it wakes up even when there's an 'Ok Google' advertisement on the TV. <div type="image" title="OnePlus TV UI." msid="87667205" hostid="261"></div>Other impressive features include the data saver mode, parental control using Connect app, and also screentime monitoring. The OnePlus Connect app not just acts as a remote control but also to play media using the phone. Lastly, the ecosystem that OnePlus is building with its accessories is also promising for the future. For example, those who own a OnePlus Watch can use it as a remote control, also the TV detects the TWS buds and enables quick pair when it's around the TV. However, we expect it to be more intuitive and seamless to call it a valuable addition to the overall experience. Especially, when they're restricted to OnePlus products that might not be the best investment for a user. The performance of the U1S is one area where the affordability of the TV becomes evident. While it did work smoothly initially, it did not keep it consistent over the past three months. It has a Mediatek MT9612 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Instances like switching between OxygenPlay and Android, opening apps like Netflix or Amazon Prime wasn't seamless as it stutters in between the process occasionally. The hiccups and lags are seen across the UI and more specifically in third party apps even those which come preinstalled. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Design, build and connectivity" comment="subhead" text="Design, build and connectivity">Design, build and connectivity</cmsannotation> The <keyword id="11344674" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="oneplus-tv-u1s" source="Orion">OnePlus TV U1S</keyword> comes with tabletop feet and wall mount options, but I chose the former in my usage. Like most large-sized thin TVs this one also wobbles, but the feet are of metal and hold it sturdily so it won't fall off unless it's pushed with force. Also, the feet are placed widely unlike some TVs that have the stand in the centre, which means you'll need to have a big TV stand to place it. <div type="image" title="OnePlus TV Stand." msid="87667311" hostid="261"></div> The build quality is at par with my expectations at this price and also the standard. The bezels are minimal, the ports are convenient to reach. It has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, an RF port, an AV port and an optical port. The remote control has a new design, a better build quality and is very ergonomic to use. Realme sold over 1.3 lakh units of its newly-launched narzo 20 smartphone on its first sale in India and the company aims to reach 50 lakh narzo users with the new series launch, Madhav Sheth, Vice President, Realme and Chief Executive Officer, Realme India and Europe, said on Monday. The narzo 20 series offers performance-oriented smartphones with powerful gaming processors, fast charge and a massive battery. "With this series we are taking forward our legacy of strong performance and powerful processors which is differentiated from the comprehensive experience of Realme products," Sheth told IANS. The narzo 20 is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 processor, a 6000mAh mega battery, a 48MP AI triple camera and a 18W quick charge technology. Available in 4GB+64 GB and 4GB+128GB variants for Rs 10,499 and Rs 11,499, the device went on its first sale on September 28. "The response is a testimony to the fact that our product strategy of providing power-centric series for the Young Players has been well accepted," Sheth said. Ramping up its popular narzo series keeping the youth in mind, smartphone brand Realme has launched three new devices offering latest processors, fast charging and huge batteries in the India market. Itel could soon launch Made in India Android TVs

New Delhi, June 18 (IANS) Leading smartphone brand Xiaomi grabbed 27 per cent market share of the India smart TV market in the first quarter this year, followed by LG at distant 14 per cent and Samsung at 10 per cent, according to a new report. Sony with 9 per cent and TCL with 8 per cent were at fourth and fifth position in Q1 2020, according to Counterpoint Research. Chinese brands are already dominating the smartphone market in China and India. "Smartphone makers are leveraging brand recognition that they already have in the market and they have enough technical expertise to develop a product like smart TV. So, the entry barrier in the smart TV market is really low for smartphone companies," said Debasish Jana, Research Associate at Counterpoint. Smartphone makers are specifically going into the smart TV business and targeting mostly the Asian market where the smart TV category is less mature than the North American and European market. Xiaomi got the early mover advantage and grabbed a 7 per cent share in the smart TV market globally. After the success of Xiaomi in the Asian market, especially in China and India, other smartphone makers entered the market with a special focus on those two countries. "Although Motorola and Nokia have launched the products only in India to exploit the opportunity in the booming India smart TV market  it is unlikely they will expand to other markets soon. In China, Huawei launched smart TVs running on its Harmony OS under both Huawei and Honor brands," informed Jana. Most of these brands tapped into a market where consumers are buying a smart TV for the first time. They are offering a tailored and feature-rich product to the consumer at an affordable price point. By contrast, OnePlus is differentiating itself by launching a premium smart TV. However, OnePlus has announced that it will expand its Smart TV portfolio in India with the launch of two new affordable sets via an online event on July 2. "Realme will likely intensify competition in the affordable smart TV segment with its newly launched smart TV range," Jana noted. Realme has launched affordable Smart TVs that starts from Rs 12,999 and is now geared up to launch a 55-inch TV. While Chinese smartphone brands are aggressive in the Asian smart TV market, Indian and Japanese TV brands still have a fair chance to increase the share in Asia, especially in the Indian market. The Indian smart TV market is poised to grow as the Internet is penetrating at a faster pace and OTT consumption is growing. Recently, VU is doing well in India with its wide range of smart TVs. Brands like Kodak and Thomson are technically licensed to Indian EMS, Super Plastronics, and are also performing quite well. Traditional TV brands, such as Samsung, LG and Sony, still have enough brand recognition around the world while new smartphone players are appealing to millennials who are familiar with these brands. "A lot will depend on the positioning for the brands. Moreover, most of the Chinese brands are playing in the affordable segment; the premium segment contains few brands," said Jana.

The ESPN app is available for <a href="https://help.espnplus.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026423391-What-are-the-ESPN-supported-devices-" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">virtually every device</a> that has apps, so you should have no problem accessing ESPN+.You can also, of course, access the service in your web browser, and every popular browser is supported. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-4k-tv" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Smart TVs</a> that use the Roku OS, Samsung Tizen, or the Android TV platform are also supported, along with Apple TV (Generation 3 and 4 models), Chromecast, Fire TV, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. All <a href="https://go.web.plus.espn.com/mB95y" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ESPN+</a> content is streamed in 720p and runs at 60 frames per second, a must for viewing sports. In my experience, playback is smooth and consistent on all devices, with no dropouts, very little time buffering, and no random bouts of resolution drops in live event streams. Everything looks crisp on mobile devices and desktop, while things are understandably a bit less pretty when stretched across my 55-inch television display. (Still, I never have issues making out a player's name on their jersey or following the ball.) Another neat addition is a picture-in-picture feature that allows you to minimize the screen while you browse the app, but you can't watch two things at once, and on a smartphone, the small screen is pretty much pointless for live sports, as you can barely see anything. <h2>What is the app like?</h2>App interfaces are always a key component of streaming services. Even if you've got a huge library of content, it needs to be easily and simply accessible. <a href="https://go.web.plus.espn.com/mB95y" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ESPN+</a> has a great mobile interface, with content thumbnails laid out against a black background. To get to ESPN+, you'll tap on the "+" icon at the bottom of the screen. From there, you can choose between two main sections for streaming video or written content. The written content section is arranged in chronological order, with the newest and most popular articles appearing at the top. The streaming video section has a featured video at the top, with scrollable sections below, including a selection of popular on-demand videos, a list of upcoming events, replays of live events, and recent episodes of original shows. Everything is fairly easy to navigate and read, and there's a search bar to speed things along if you know what you're looking for. If you're just looking to see live events, the calendar in the upper right corner has a full list which you can filter by sport or network (if you've linked up an account with access to the main ESPN channels).If you're going on a vacation (or you just don't want to waste precious data), you can tap the download button in the upper left corner to see a selection of content available for download. You'll get live-streamed events; full replays of fights, games, and matches; a few talk shows with industry analysts; and highlights. In terms of written content, the offerings are a bit more sparse, though you will get more NBA stuff here than you will on the video side. Some of the rumor-centric articles are nice for fans who can't get enough coverage, but overall I wasn't particularly impressed with the "Insider" content. Still, given how much value you get out of the video stuff alone, the articles simply feel like a nice bonus. If you like watching sports documentaries, the "30 for 30" section alone could keep you occupied for months.
