A multi-stage cycle race on the lines of the famous <keyword id="45920" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="tour-de-france" source="Orion">Tour De France</keyword> will be held in February next year in India, its organisers said on Thursday. The race christened 'Hindayan', will get flagged off from New Delhi's National War Memorial, and culminate at <keyword id="2094" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="pune" source="Orion">Pune</keyword> after doing over 1,600 km across multiple days, a statement said. "At present, there is no such sporting event in India. We resolved to create Asia's biggest annual cycling event (on the lines of Tour De France or Giro d'Italia or Vuelta an Espana). This will be unique," <keyword id="3552636" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vishnudas-chapke" source="Orion">Vishnudas Chapke</keyword>, the organiser of the event, said. Chapke, a former journalist, is the first Indian to circumnavigate the globe by land. There is also an "expedition" format of the cycling event, which will give a chance for commoners or serious amateurs to cycle in Hindayan, he said. As part of the race, 100 cyclists will pedal off from New Delhi on February 5, he said, adding that there will also be foreign cyclists. The name Hindayan is derived from Sanskrit, Chapke said, explaining that "Hind" is the land from the Sindhu River to Sindhu (Indian) Ocean, while "Ayan" means an expedition. The multistage race will halt at many towns and cities, including Agra, <keyword id="6354779" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="jaipur" source="Orion">Jaipur</keyword>, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, and end in Pune on February 19, the statement said. With the support of the authorities, one lane will be solely dedicated for cycling on the national highways and another lane for ambulances and support vehicles, it said. Dream11’s parent marks its foray into Web3 by investing in cricket NFTs startup Rario

New Delhi, Indian startups have raised $732.7 million across 107 deals in January this year amid layoffs, shutdowns and top-level exits. According to TheKredible's data, there were 70 early-stage deals with a total value of $314.4 million, and 21 growth-stage deals worth $418.3 million. There were 16 undisclosed rounds. In January, the total funding for startups experienced a significant decrease from $1.7 billion in the last month of 2023. It was also the lowest funding amount for January when compared to the last three years, reports Entrackr. Notably, no startup managed to secure funding above $100 million in January. <keyword id="20320433" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vivifi" source="keywords">Vivifi</keyword>, a fintech startup, received the most funding in January, totalling $75 million. AiDash, wow! NFTs that were bought using fiat money have been less affected by the market crash. Business Insider had not heard back from Bollycoin at the time of publishing. “Art should always be backed by lasting utility. Often celebrities launch their NFTs and go radio silent. But if an NFT buyer wants to sell the NFT of a Bollywood digital avatar, would they be able to do so? They should have an active NFT community,” said Sandesh Suvarna, vice president, WazirX NFT marketplace. Vishal Malhotra, creator of Asia’s first NFT-funded film ‘Ilm,’ meaning knowledge; and also the first actor to launch his NFT in India, did just that. “Ilm-the world’s first NFT-funded film has been certified by the Censor Board of India. Even during the bear market, over 50% of the film NFT passes have been sold. The bear market allows NFTs to go mainstream, bringing down their price. A Sholay film NFT has classic value for a Bollywood fan and will always have incremental resale value,” Malhotra said. While fans will continue to like whatever it is they do, creators (artists, influencers, actors, musicians, or athletes) will use this new medium to create more supply,” added Saxena.

Fan tokens are a subset of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Fans can buy these tokens with non-digital money like the rupee or the US dollar to get certain rights or advantages when it comes to their favorite club. Simply put, a fan token lets followers have a say in club decisions -- or at least some level of influence. For clubs, it’s a way to get their hands on more capital, especially after the year of the COVID-19 pandemic where ticket sales were scarce and stadiums lay empty. It is unclear what kind of perks Indian fans will get for investing in their favorite cricket club. In the world of football, fan tokens give voting rights on kit designs, celebratory music, and other minor decisions. Sources said that it’s likely that most of these tokens will be powered by the Indian <a href="https://wazirx.com/signup?invite=2kpah6gr&amp;utm_source=business-insider&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=article-editorial">blockchain</a> platform, Polygon, which has been gaining popularity, not just in India, but amongst NFT platforms worldwide. IPL teams are reportedly launching fan tokens, which will give followers a bigger say in club decisions

Tata Elxsi is among the 17 Tata Group companies listed on exchanges with a market capitalisation of ₹49,585 crore. The company’s net profit for the January-March quarter grew nearly 40% year-on-year to ₹160 crore while revenue grew at ₹681 crore. The bbnow service will sell over 3,000 products, the company said in a statement. Besides this, BigBasket would also be focusing on one hour delivery through bbexpresss within a 6 kilometre radius of the store. The bbexpress would offer over 8,000 products. The company will rely on its own dark stores for these operations. Dark stores are micro-fulfillment centres dedicated to rapid online order fulfillment. There is no cap on the number of products that one can order through these platforms, but typical order sizes average between 3-5 products and around ₹400 for the <keyword id="12724312" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="quick-commerce" source="Orion">quick commerce</keyword> deliveries, the company said. BigBasket will be a part of Tata Digital’s super app TataNeu. The Tata Enterprise company also emphasised that they have built a “massive” delivery network across India and it is constantly in expansion state. BigBasket launched a chain of offline stores in 2021 and 90 of them are already operational. The company now plans to launch 700 more such stores by the end of 2022. BigBasket was launched in 2010 as an online grocery supermarket. The company today covers an entire spectrum of grocery retail through quick-commerce, physical stores, alongside online grocery sales through the main BigBasket platform. “Apart from consumers who plan and buy their monthly groceries from bigbasket, there is a huge user base comprising those who make unplanned purchases, top-ups and impulse purchases. For impulse and emergency purchases, the bbnow service with its 10-20-minute delivery window is a great option…,” Hari Menon, cofounder and chief executive officer of BigBasket, said in a statement. Nearly 100 out of the 172 power plants in India have critical coal stocks, which means it is less than 25% of the normative levels. “This shortage of coal and high prices are benefiting the Coal India stock prices. A win-win for MPL and FTX A report by <a href="https://assets.morningconsult.com/wp-uploads/2021/09/21143601/2109065_crosstabs_MC_SPORTS_CRYPTO_SPORTS_Adults_v2_CC.pdf">Morning Consult</a> indicates that there’s a significant overlap between the crypto-curious and sports. According to the data, sports fans are about twice as likely as non-sports fans to say that they are familiar with crypto, like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
