In a bid to upgrade <keyword id="2939956" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="road-infrastructure-in-Jammu-and-Kashmir">road infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir</keyword>, the Central Government granted Rs 3,500 crore for two road projects in Jammu city. 
 
Informing about the development, Jammu and Kashmir Altaf Bukhari said that two ring road projects for Srinagar and Jammu were also approved. 
Bukhari added that the road projects will remove bottlenecks and decongest traffic. 
 
The minister said that upgradation of Srinagar-Jammu highway was sped up and the ambitious project is likely to be commissioned by next year. 
 
"Given the sluggish performance of the project contractors, the Government has changed RAMKY with Project Management Unit to ensure speedy completion of the project and provide assured all-weather connectivity to Kashmir," he told news agency PTI.

Jammu & Kashmir gets Rs 3500 crore for road infrastructure

New Delhi, Apr 13 () Environment management services provider Ramky Enviro Engineers (REEL) on Monday said it will contribute of Rs 10 crore to help combat coronavirus pandemic in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The company will be making contributions to Chief Ministers' relief funds in the two states besides providing personal protective equipment (PPE) and additional materials, it said in a statement. The contributions are an extension of REEL's ongoing efforts to combat the impact of Covid-19 on communities, which comprises Rs 3 crore cheque as well as a supply of Rs 7 crore worth PPEs and any additional materials/support needed for the cause, it added. The company said it has delivered the financial contributions to Telangana CM K Chandra Shekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. REEL Managing Director M Goutham Reddy said, "The coronavirus outbreak has impacted countless lives and has created an unprecedented need to band together against an invisible enemy. Containing the spread of the virus requires the active participation and mobilisation of resources from every quarter." REEL said it has developed a comprehensive plan to ensure a number of critical services continue through the foreseeable future, which include waste collection, treatment and disposal, hospital waste management and hazardous waste disposal from industries. "Furthermore, as a gesture of respect and recognition of workers' hard work during these challenging times, REEL will provide additional benefits to its over 20,000 frontline employees and workers, including insurance and additional allowances worth Rs 10 crore," the company said. Other large buyout deals in 2018 include Kedaara Capital and Partners Group’s acquisition of Vishal Mega Mart for $734 million, and GIC and Abu Dhabi Investment Council’s $450 million in renewable energy company Greenko Energy Holdings. “The Indian PE industry appears to have come of age, with PE backed platforms attracting marquee <keyword id="89429" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Global-investors">global investors</keyword> like Berkshire Hathaway, which recently announced an investment of ~$300-US$400 million in Paytm,” Vivek Soni, Partner and National Leader Private Equity Services, EY, said in the EY report. Key drivers PE funds have had a good year in terms of fund-raising, increasing their ability to plough in more money in investments. As of the end of August, PE funds had over $40 billion in capital marked for India investments, according to the EY report. The company will enable processing of over 1 lakh tons of post-consumer plastic waste through collection from all of the states and Union Territories. Since 2018, HUL has facilitated environmentally safe disposal of more than 1.2 lakh tons of post-consumer-use plastic waste. In 2020, despite the Covid pandemic, the Company stepped up its efforts in the reduction of plastic waste. This has been made possible through investment and partnerships to improve the waste management infrastructure in over 100 towns across India. HUL has partnered with various organisations for the collection of plastic waste including Saahas, Carpe, Recykal, Planet Savers, RaddiConnect, Geoycle, Ramky Enviro. Through its partners and with support from Municipal Corporations, the Company has reached out to housing societies and commercial establishments to improve the collection of plastic waste. The Company is also working in partnership with the <keyword id="162448" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="United-Nations-Development-Programme">United Nations Development Programme</keyword> (UNDP) and the international organization Xynteo. Every waste generator is <a href="https://cpcb.nic.in/displaypdf.php?id=d2FzdGUvQyZEX3J1bGVzXzIwMTYucGRm">required </a>to pay relevant charges for collection, transportation, processing and disposal as notified by the concerned authorities. After segregation, the waste is to be deposited at the collection centre and/or to be handed to an authorised processing facility. The authorities are required to ensure that there’s no littering on roads that could cause traffic. The waste is not to be burned, buried or thrown into drains or water bodies. What happens next? Of the 80,000 tonnes of construction waste left behind by the Twin Towers, 30,000 will be removed and recycled. The remaining 50,000 tonnes will be used to lay the foundation of the proposed <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/noida/where-twin-towers-stood-a-sprawling-garden-next/articleshow/93843931.cms">garden</a>. However, it won’t be until the next four months that the residents of Emerald court will get to see green pastures in the place of a giant grey rubble.
