A group of 40 European students have been quarantined on the campus of the <keyword id="8923181" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="International-Sahaja-Public-School">International Sahaja Public School</keyword> near here in the wake of the <keyword id="1754604" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="coronavirus">coronavirus</keyword> outbreak in the country, officials said on Tuesday. They had returned from their countries after their winter vacation ended a week ago. Kangra Deputy Commissioner <keyword id="7746926" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="rakesh-kumar-prajapati">Rakesh Kumar Prajapati</keyword> said the district administration met the school authorities on Monday and asked them to ensure that the students shall remain in self-isolation on the campus. "None of the students has symptoms of coronavirus infection but we have directed the school authorities to ensure that they don't leave the campus," he said. Another batch of 100 students, who are yet to arrive, has been told to stay back till the situation becomes normal, Prajapati said. --IANS vg/arm

Coronavirus: 40 European students quarantined in Himachal

Shimla, June 13 () The Himachal Pradesh government has revised its list of cities in the country having high prevalence of COVID-19 cases, a senior health official said on Saturday. Additional Chief Secretary (Health) R D Dhiman in his list revision order, issued on Friday, said entire Delhi along with Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmadabad, Thane, Pune, Hyderabad, Chengalpattu, Gurugram, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kolkata/Howrah and Indore cities have high load of coronavirus infection cases. Following revision of the list, Kangra and Hamirpur district magistrates Rakesh Kumar Prajapati and Harieksh Meena respectively issued an order for institutionally quarantine all people coming to the two districts from the 13 cities of the country. In his order, Meena said the persons coming to Hamirpur district from these areas would be institutionally quarantined for 14 days. DJI CORR RAX RAX

(Eds: Adding details) Shimla, May 6 () One more person tested positive for COVID-19 in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 44 in the state, officials said. The patient is a resident of Jamanabad in Kangra district, Superintendent of Police Vimukt Ranjan said. Meanwhile, Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati said the man was quarantined at Panchayati Raj Training Institute (PRTI) in Baijnath after he had been tested positive at Tanda's Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC). He returned from Dubai last month and subsequently came to his house in a taxi with three other persons on April 27. The taxi driver has also been identified. The DC said the quarantined man's 24 contacts were identified. They have been quarantined and their samples have also been taken for testing, Prajapati added. Meanwhile, one more person who had been staying at Gagret in Una district tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir. A resident of Jammu, the man had returned to Jammu and Kashmir a few days ago and was tested positive at Lakhanpur, Una Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar said. The DC said the district administration received information from Lakhanpur that the man had been tested positive for coronavirus. His contacts in Una district have been quarantined, he added. Four people were shifted to other states for treatment. Himachal Pradesh now has three active cases, one each in Sirmaur, Kangra and Mandi districts. One more positive COVID-19 case in HP, count rises to 44

Dharamshala (HP), Apr 17 () Around 13 people who entered Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district without permission during the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown have been identified and booked, an official said on Friday.The movement of people in Kangra district is not allowed and curfew passes are being given only in emergency situations, said Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Prajapati.He said there will be a complete ban on entry in Kangra for those who come from coronavirus hotspots.The deputy commissioner said district residents are being regularly advised on ways to prevent COVID-19 infection.He said legal action was initiated against more than 200 people who violated the prohibitory orders in the district.So far 285 samples have been collected from Kangra, of which only five were declared positive.One of the positive cases died earlier last month and three recovered. There is only one active case in the district as of now, the officer said.Samples of three persons who came in contact with a COVID-19 positive case were also taken and their reports returned negative. In Kangra, 31,201 labourers and their families are living in slums. They have been provided ten days of ration, the deputy commissioner said.Three relief camps are also being run in which food and lodging arrangements have been made for 110 people.Besides, a hunger helpline has been started in the district for the poor, the officer said. The patients are from Khad Jota panchayat in Salooni subdivision and they recently came from Baddi in Solan district, he added. Their contacts are being traced and they will be quarantined as per protocol, the DC added. Earlier, one person tested positive from Kangra district.
