The researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur have developed Lanthanides based perovskite nanocomposite catalytic materials for artificial photosynthesis to produce high-purity <keyword id="169046" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="hydrogen" source="Orion">hydrogen</keyword>. "In the patented method, the researchers used natural sunlight to convert water into hydrogen and oxygen using a highly recyclable catalyst based on low-cost, simple transition metal. Dr <keyword id="5600755" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rakesh-k-sharma" source="Orion">Rakesh K Sharma</keyword>, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, <keyword id="901000" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="iit-jodhpur" source="Orion">IIT Jodhpur</keyword>, is the <keyword id="195201" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="principal-investigator" source="Orion">Principal Investigator</keyword> of this project," as per IIT Jodhpur. "The team has now developed a series of catalysts which can efficiently produce hydrogen under ambient conditions. The end application of this research lies in the industries, automobile and energy sectors" IIT Jodhpur said in a Statement IIT Jodhpur further said in a statement that Hydrogen-based energy is the only viable source for a green and sustainable future. More than 90 per cent of the source of hydrogen is from petroleum feedstock, making it costly and out of reach of the common man. IIT Jodhpur's research team is working to find a viable source of hydrogen generation. The technology developed by the IIT Jodhpur team does not need any external energy source except sunlight. Highlighting the significance of the research, Dr Rakesh <keyword id="3398159" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="k-sharma" source="Orion">K Sharma</keyword>, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, IIT Jodhpur, said, "Development of indigenous sustainable catalyst for large scale green hydrogen production is benchmark innovation for next generation happiness." "The research team has screened more than 100 catalyst combinations to develop five sets of catalysts that give high hydrogen production under sunlight. The catalysts work for wastewater, saline water and brackish water. The catalysts are recyclable and can be used multiple times" he added. Dr Rakesh K Sharma further said that The process used is simple, works on a wide spectrum of sunlight, and does not require any energy source to produce hydrogen. Low cost and high purity could be an essential step towards using hydrogen as a fuel directly in vehicles avoiding fossil fuels and reducing pollution. This novel research is being funded collaboratively by the Department of Science and Technology and IIT Jodhpur. Further, the researchers aim to develop a prototype followed by a scale-up for large-scale hydrogen production for end-user applications. IIT Jodhpur researchers develop catalytic materials to produce high-purity hydrogen

New Delhi [India], June 23 (ANI): The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (<keyword id="6361994" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="NEET" source="Orion">NEET</keyword> PG) Examination on Saturday, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday, and said that a fresh date will be announced at the earliest. The NEET-PG exams were scheduled to be held on June 23. "Taking into consideration, the recent incidents of allegations regarding the integrity of certain competitive examinations, the Ministry of Health has decided to undertake a thorough assessment of the robustness of the processes of the NEET-PG Entrance Examination, conducted by the National Board of Examination for medical students," the ministry statement read. "It has accordingly been decided, as a precautionary measure, to postpone the NEET-PG Entrance Examination, scheduled to be held on 23rd June, 2024. The fresh date of this examination will be notified at the earliest," the ministry added. "The Ministry of Health sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to the students. This decision has been taken in the best interests of the students and to maintain the sanctity of the examination process," the health ministry said. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) was fully prepared to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Post-Graduate (PG) 2024. Speaking exclusively to ANI, Dr Rakesh Sharma, OSD to President and Member, Governing Body, NBEMS said, "All eyes of the nation are on NBEMS for the conduct of NEET PG 2024 and we will not let down the hope of the nation. We will conduct the test through a computer-based test (CBT) mode throughout the country." On Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for successfully delivering and maintaining transparency, he said, "NBEMS has robust SOPs for conducting exams because of which NBEMS has been successfully delivering the exams year after year. These SOPs are stringently followed. NBEMS has worked very hard on maintaining the secrecy of the question paper and there is no chance that there will be any leakage of the question paper." He further said that NBEMS is supported by medical colleges, faculty, MoHFW, Flying Squads, Deans and Principals, Vice-chancellor and other agencies, "NBEMS has support from various medical colleges, faculty, MoHFW and other agencies. NBEMS has already briefed the chief secretaries and DGP of all states for safe and secure conduct of the exam." The <keyword id="581232" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Testing-Agency" source="Orion">National Testing Agency</keyword> (<keyword id="654916" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NTA" source="Orion">NTA</keyword>), which conducted the NEET-UG exams, is facing criticism over alleged irregularities in the exams. This resulted in several protests across the country, with protestors and political parties demanding to disband the NTA. An unprecedented 67 candidates achieved a perfect score of 720 marks out of 720, which added to the concerns. The <keyword id="19932587" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ministry-of-education" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="ministry of education" meta.hostid="83" meta.entityid="ministry of education">Ministry of Education</keyword> said it has constituted a high-level committee of experts to make recommendations on reforms in the mechanism of the examination process, improvements in data security protocols and the functioning of the NTA. The 7-member committee, led by ISRO former chairman Dr K. Radhakrishnan, will submit its report to the ministry in the next two months. "In order to ensure transparent, smooth and fair conduct of examinations through the National Testing Agency (NTA), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education constituted a High-Level Committee of Experts to make recommendations on Reform in mechanism of examination process improvement in data security protocols and the structure and functioning of National Testing Agency," the ministry said.

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has submitted its initial probe report on the Levana Suites hotel fire, recommending action against 22 engineers and zonal officers for allegedly conniving with the builder and turning a blind eye to illegal construction activity. The building now faces demolition since it was illegally constructed. The fire on Monday left four people dead, while seven others suffered burn injuries. The LDA has also lodged an FIR at the Hazratganj police station against <keyword id="14907942" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mukesh-jasnani" source="Orion">Mukesh Jasnani</keyword> of M/S Bansal Construction and his partners for carrying out commercial activity of running a hotel on a residential plot. It will include students across fields — from dance and singing to physics and mathematics. “Talented students from the arts and science stream have been selected from around the country for the programme. It would start on October 10 in Bangalore and conclude on October 23 at IIT Delhi,” Nishank said. The programme will be conducted in the presence of Kailasavadivoo Sivan, Chairman of Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO), PM’s scientific advisor Professor K Vijayraghavan, and Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma. “This is an ambitious initiative of the Modi government. The Helium-3 isotopes are limited on Earth but found in abundance on the moon due to the heavy solarwinds it is in contact with. If the isotopes on the moon are harnessed, they could theoretically meet the global energy demands for 250 years. However, that could require overcoming a lot of difficulties like mining the lunar surface and building of power plants for starters. The exploration on the moon is open to all countries and therefore, <keyword id="3658" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword> is facing tough competition from other governments, start-ups and billionaires. However, the chairman of ISRO, K Sivan, has declared that he wants to dictate this mission of harnessing Helium-3 and not just be a part of it like the other countries. If successful, the mission could lead to the scientific, military and commercial gains of the country and world, in general. China had put a rover on the moon in 2013 with its Chang'e 3 mission and has plans to return later this year to explore the far side. Furthermore, US is calling for astronauts to return to the moon too, and NASA has proposed a $19 billion budget to launch a lunar orbiter by the early 2020s. ISRO’s estimated budget, about $1.7 billion, is less than a 10th of NASA’s, but having said that, ISRO’s hallmarks include getting the job done cheaply yet effectively. The upcoming mission will cost about $125 million which is less than a quarter of Snap Inc co-founder’s compensation last year, according to the Bloomberg Pay Index. India’s confidence in the success of this mission has increased because it has already had one successful moon mission. The Chandrayaan-1 craft, launched by India in October 2008, had discovered molecules of water in the lunar surface for the first time. The upcoming launch called <keyword id="53289" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chandrayaan-2">Chandrayaan-2</keyword> will include an orbiter, lander and a rectangular rover and cover an area with a 400-meter radius. It will collect information for at least 14 days and send images to the lander, to be transmitted back to ISRO for analysis. Rakesh Sharma, a famous Indian space traveller, said that even if India reaches the moon first, one can not draw boundaries there. He wants India to show that its capable of utilising <keyword id="6422364" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="space-technology">space technology</keyword> for the good of people.
