Schools in <keyword id="6355588" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajasthan">Rajasthan</keyword> that have been closed for the last seven months in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, may finally start from November 2, at least for Classes 10 to 12, confirmed officials. Three days back, the State Education Department sent a ready proposal to the state government for opening schools for the senior classes November 2 onwards. It is now awaiting the response from the state government, state education minister Govind Singh Dotasara confirmed to IANS. The senior classes will be opening in the first phase. "A detailed SOP has been drafted in this context and sent to the state government as well. Our worry is to ensure that the schools are being run for 150 days at least which is the minimum requirement for operating one academic school session," he said, adding that zero academic sessions are no where on our minds. <ul><li>The decision has come amid reports that private hospitals were charging exorbitant fee for the treatment. </li><li>The cost of treatment in hospitals not certified by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) has been kept at Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,000 per day. </li></ul> The Rajasthan government on Thursday fixed rates for coronavirus treatment at private hospitals, keeping the charges at Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,900 a day. The decision has come amid reports that private hospitals were charging exorbitant fee for the treatment. According to a notification issued by the state Medical and Health Department, the cost of treatment in hospitals not certified by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) has been kept at Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,000 per day. In the NABL-accredited hospitals, the charges has been fixed at Rs 5,500 to Rs 9,900 a day. The treatment cost includes Rs 1,200 of a PPE kit. In the notification, the government said on June 20, the department had fixed rates for the treatment of coronavirus at private hospitals of the state. But in that order, it was not clear which medicines or expenses are included. This new rate has been fixed to remove confusion, an official statement said. According to the department, the state government is using the powers provided in Section 4 of Rajasthan Epidemic Ordinance, 2020 to fix the maximum cost of treatment for common people under the protocol prescribed for coronavirus-infected patients in private hospitals of the state. Hospitals have been asked to follow the notification, otherwise, action will be taken against them. Rajasthan government caps COVID-19 treatment charges at private hospital

"Tata Power plans to have a renewable power portfolio of 10,000 MW in the state of Rajasthan in the next five years," a company statement said. Participating in the ongoing Invest Rajasthan summit in Jaipur, it stated that it plans to develop up to 8,000 MW of utility-scale projects, 1,000 MW of solar rooftops and 1,50,000 solar pumps in the next five years in the state. Tata Power, along with its fully-owned subsidiary <keyword id="12146018" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tata-power-solar" source="Orion">Tata Power Solar</keyword>, will expand its presence in the state to generate clean energy through solar power. The company employs more than 4,500 people in the state, and its expansion projects will generate employment for more than 6,000-8,000 people in the next five years. Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO &amp; MD of Tata Power, said in the statement, "Both in terms of potential and what has been done so far, Rajasthan has today emerged as a role model to produce green energy through solar power. Rajasthan is an important state for Tata Power's renewable business. It presently has a portfolio of 4,939 MWp. To date, Tata Power has commissioned 2,066 MW in Rajasthan and around 2,873 MW capacity of solar projects are under construction, which will be completed in the next 12-24 months. TP Ajmer Distribution Ltd, a unit of Tata Power, has completed 5 years of operations and has enhanced the consumer experience in Ajmer. Tata Power has ensured safe and reliable supply in Ajmer and also achieved AT&amp;C (Aggregate Technical and Commercial) loss reduction from 22 per cent to 9 per cent. With the support and favourable policies of the government of Rajasthan, the company is looking forward to opportunities for power distribution in various other cities of the state under the collaborative <keyword id="113605" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="public-private-partnership" source="Orion">Public Private Partnership</keyword> (PPP) model and to serve the citizens of Rajasthan with quality power supply. With respect to solar pumps, Tata Power plans to set up around 1,50,000 pumps in the next five years in the state. The company has so far installed nearly 21,600 solar pumps in Jaipur, Hanumangarh, Ganganagar, Jalore and Bikaner. Tata Power through its rooftop services has a cumulative installed capacity of 65 MW in Rajasthan. The company has been doing extensive work for industrial belts like marble, granite and stone crushing etc in Rajasthan located in regions like Ajmer, Sirohi, Rajsamand, Jalore and Makrana. Through its various rooftop offerings, Tata Power has installed over 20 MW of rooftops for these industries. These installations have resulted in cumulative savings of about Rs 20 crore per annum for customers. Tata Power is also working towards setting up a robust EV charging infrastructure in the state to enable the faster transition towards electric mobility. The company has installed over 1,100 home chargers and 100 public chargers in Rajasthan. In the next few years, Tata Power plans to install 10,000 public EV charging points in the state. Tata Power mulls 10,000 MW clean energy capacity in next five years in Rajasthan

New Delhi, The <keyword id="40807" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="election-commission" source="Orion">Election Commission</keyword> on Wednesday changed the date of polling for the Rajasthan assembly elections from November 23 to November 25 citing "large-scale" weddings and social engagements. In a statement, the EC said the decision was taken following representations made by various parties and social organisations for a change of the date of poll "considering large-scale wedding/social engagements on that day (November 23) which may cause inconvenience to large number of people, various logistic issues and may lead to reduced voters participation during poll". "The Commission, having considered these factors and representations, has decided to change the date of poll from 23rd November, 2023 (Thursday) to 25th November, 2023 (Saturday)," it added. The counting of votes will take place as scheduled on December 3, along with the same for four other state assembly polls. The poll panel announced the assembly poll schedule for <keyword id="13051407" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajasthan-madhya-pradesh" source="Orion">Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh</keyword>, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram on Monday.
