Back in 1989, the selection panel was debating whether the 16-year old Tendulkar was ready for international cricket.

Think any longer though and you realize that it was a ludicrous, heavily biased, and quite simply, incorrect statement to make. 
 
But perhaps bias, a strong optimistic bias, is the only way we will ever make a non-consensus bet on an unproven rookie, or a crazy start-up idea. 
 
Bias repeatedly causes us to make many of our worse judgements and decisions. 
 
However, an optimistic bias is also the driving force that makes the entrepreneur believe that his odds of success are infinitely higher than his competition, the selector believe than an unproven teenage cricketer never fails, and a crazy, incomprehensible idea can be the next technological breakthrough.

For instance, his stout defence of <keyword id="13937" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rohit-Sharma">Rohit Sharma</keyword>'s stroke selection in the third Test against England Southampton was followed up by not playing him in either of the remaining Tests.

“Is an improvement over the previous one,” Dhoni was quoted saying. Reportedly, the Nike designers have spent several hours taking inputs from the Indian cricket team regarding their requirements and preferences for the jersey. 
 
What makes this kit even special is that it has been made out of 100% recycled polyester, which is not only environment-friendly but also has enhanced stretch and moisture-releasing qualities. 
 
“There has been constant interaction between Nike and the players,” said Dhoni. “We all gave them our inputs and a lot of them have been passed. The product was already great and this is just an improvement on the previous one. It looks good.” 
 
Dhoni contributed his two cents in designing the front part of the jersey, which has strands signifying 24 spokes in the Ashok Chakra of the national flag, giving the person who wears it a patriotic feel. 
 The young gun machine <keyword id="6354486" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Virat-Kohli">Virat Kohli</keyword> said that he was very particular about the fit of the jersey, which according to him is important for a sportsperson.

So, in that regards, I am really proud of what Nike has given us.” The reason why Ashwin stresses over the environment-friendly aspect is that a pair of shirt and trousers is made out of 33 plastic bottles, which in itself is a big step in direction of social responsibilities they follow as a team.

The drug, which is currently available in an injectable form, "is a welcome relief," Dr. Anil Arora, chairman, Institute of Liver, Gastroenterology, Pancreaticobiliary Science at Sir <keyword id="237993" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ganga-ram-hospital" source="Orion">Ganga Ram Hospital</keyword>, New Delhi, told IANS. "The combination of the two hormones go and tell the brain that your stomach is full or you have enough reserves and you don't need to eat more. So that restricts your appetite that makes you burn more calories which are residing in your body unutilised helping you lose weight," he added. In the study, published in the <keyword id="401051" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="new-england-journal-of-medicine" source="Orion">New England Journal of Medicine</keyword>, an international team, including from Yale University, randomly split 2,539 overweight or obese participants into four equal groups. One group was offered a self-administered placebo injection once a week for 72 weeks, while the other three groups were offered either 5 mg, 10 mg or 15 mg of tirzepatide. They were also recommended 150 minutes of exercise a week. At the end of the 72-week period, participants given 5 mg of tirzepatide each week lost an average of 16.1 kg, those given 10mg lost an average of 22.2 kg, and those given the 15 mg an average of 23.6 kg. Those given a placebo injection lost an average of 2.4 kg. Those who took the highest of three doses lost as much as 21 per cent of their body weight compared to those who took placebo. One disadvantage of people who undergo bariatric surgery is that they tend to regain weight. But here with the drug, one can tweak the hormones, which are taking the signals from the intracellular tract to tell the brain that you are hungry, Arora said. Importantly, this "type of therapy does not interfere with the normal structure of the body" unlike endoscopic surgery or bariatric surgery, where the size of the stomach is decreased, he noted. Weight loss of 15 per cent to more than 20 per cent also has the potential to change the way doctors treat diabetes. A previous study of tirzepatide in diabetes showed that half the participants who were early in the course of their diabetes went into remission while taking the drug. "That is a potential game changer in how we think about therapy for people with Type 2 diabetes," Dr. <keyword id="14129116" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="robert-gabbay" source="Orion">Robert Gabbay</keyword>, chief scientific and medical officer for the American Diabetes Association, was quoted as saying to USA Today. However, what's not known, Gabbay said, is whether remission achieved this way will reduce the typical complications of diabetes, which can include cardiovascular disease, nerve and kidney damage and limb amputations.  Know when we are talking about Aamir, so let’s see how much money does his nearest competitor in endorsement space, <keyword id="4546" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shah-Rukh">Shah Rukh</keyword> Khan, takes home. Well, as compared to Aamir, King Khan charges a little less and that is around Rs 3.5-4 crore a day. The brands which Shah Rukh endorses range from paints to e-commerce to liquor. "SRK feels he is bigger than the brand he is endorsing so the brand will benefit from his association. His <keyword id="6355606" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="model">model</keyword> is totally different," the celebrity manager, who was quoted above, told ET. Apart from Bollywood, the next thing that more Indians are crazy about is cricket. And Indian <keyword id="269872" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="cricket-team-captain">cricket team captain</keyword> MS Dhoni is the most favorite among brands from this arena. Dhoni earns around Rs 12 crore per year, which requires usually 3-4 days of work. On the other hand, <keyword id="6354486" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Virat-Kohli">Virat Kohli</keyword> currently charges Rs 1.75 crore per day, the ET report said.

New Delhi: Former India captains <keyword id="22169" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Sunil-Gavaskar">Sunil Gavaskar</keyword> and Ravi Shastri fetch more money from cricket’s richest board than does the current one, according to a report in The Indian Express. 
 The Indian daily on Monday printed a story in which it said that Gavaskar and Shastri, both of whom commentate on television and hold roles for the Indian cricket board, are the highest-paid <keyword id="6354756" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="BCCI">BCCI</keyword> retainers with estimated annual incomes or Rs 6 crore each. Shastri was recently confirmed as director of the Indian team until the 2015 World Cup, a role he was given after the Test series defeat in England, while Gavaskar is head of <keyword id="6354312" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="IPL">IPL</keyword> operations. For their respective roles, the pair received an added bonus of Rs 2 crore which, considering their already had annual contracts worth Rs 4 crore as BCCI-endorsed commentators, takes their yearly income from the board to Rs 6 crore.

	In comparison, MS Dhoni has over the past one year fetched Rs 2.49 crore from his on-field role (35 international matches) and a retainer or Rs 1 crore.

	The Indian Express quoted an unnamed BCCI official as saying: “The board pays Shastri and Gavaskar Rs 4 crore annually as commentators. As per <keyword id="6354977" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Supreme-Court">Supreme Court</keyword> orders, Gavaskar will be paid an extra Rs 2.37 crore. Roughly the same will be given to Shastri.” The report also estimated that Gavaskar sent the BCCI an invoice of Rs 2.37 for the previous IPL season.

	Earlier this year, Forbes magazine ranked Dhoni as the fifth most financially valuable athlete in the world, behind Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, LeBron James, Phil Mickelson and <keyword id="6027" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Maria-Sharapova">Maria Sharapova</keyword>. Forbes valued Dhoni at 21 million dollars, but that was without factoring in his earnings from lucrative endorsements.
 With his commercial deals estimated to fetch him a whopping $26 million per year, the Indian <keyword id="1411" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="captain">captain</keyword> is apparently the word’s eight highest paid sportsperson. Dhoni makes six and a half times more money on endorsements than he does on salaries/winnings (Rs 4 crore).

Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri Highest Earners From BCCI: Report

The legendary England allrounder <keyword id="72978" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Ian-Botham">Ian Botham</keyword> has tipped <keyword id="9234" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Alastair-Cook">Alastair Cook</keyword>’s side to beat India by a 3-1 or a 2-0 margin in the upcoming five-match Investec Test series. 
 
The war of words is on. Despite England's on and off field struggles, Botham feels that The Three Lions will exploit the weaknesses in the touring side to beat them evens. Despite England missing three key players when they thrashed India 4-0 in 2011, Botham feels that the under-fire England captain will come good against MS Dhoni-led side. "I think England will win the series by two Tests either 3-1 or 2-0, it certainly won't be as one-sided as the last time they met in England," said the Sky Sports pundit. 
 
"The weather is likely to play a part in one or two matches but I think overall England to win 3-1 is a good bet." 
 
Botham, considered as one of the finest allrounders of all time, also hopes that Anderson would help England beat India on way to breaking his record. 
 "<keyword id="82331" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Jimmy-Anderson">Jimmy Anderson</keyword> is the man England will look to get the wickets but his price is too short. The value for me is with <keyword id="6369580" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Ben-Stokes">Ben Stokes</keyword>. He looks like he's back to fitness and I think they'll play him as he gives the side balance," he added. 
 
Anderson, 31, has 355 Test wickets in 94 matches with an average of 30.36 and Botham says that the bowler can get the remaining 28 wickets during the India series and break his record.
