IBPS clerk 2021 examination: how to register, important dates and more

New Delhi, Jul 9 () The Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) on Thursday constituted a 'COVID-19 Support Group' to help its employees and their family members who have either tested positive for coronavirus or are suspected to have contracted the infection, officials said. According to PWD, medical assistance will also be provided to its retired employees and their families. As part of the COVID-19 support group, a five-member 'Action Group' has also been formed and the department has designated its control room helpline to support employees who are COVID-19 positive or suspected to have contracted the infection. The control room, which works round-the-clock, will continue to perform its other duties, officials said. In an office memorandum, the PWD said its health maintenance unit will provide and maintain a stock of 20 full body PPE kits in the control room for coordinating officers. "The Action Group will coordinate with PWD staff posted at a hospital nearest to the residence of suspected/COVID-19 positive staff or the hospital desired and assure testing and medical assistance within 12 hours of communication," the department said in the memorandum. It said the coordinating officer will provide all necessary assistance to the family members of suspected or COVID-19 positive employees. "In case any medical assistance is required to the family, the coordinating officer will inform the 'Action Group'...all such developments will be reported to PWD Control Room for updating status in respect of any needy staff and family members," it said. Earlier this week, the CPWD, a prime construction agency of the central government, had also constituted a seven-member ''COVID Support Group'' to help its employees, who have either tested positive for coronavirus or are suspected to have contracted the infection, in getting admission and testing in Delhi hospitals. The decision to form such a group had been taken in view of problems faced by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) employees in hospitalisation and getting coronavirus testing at the city's health centres. As the model code of conduct is in place ahead of assembly polls next month, the Delhi Public Works Department has asked all its chief engineers to provide list of those project works which have already started on the ground and those which are yet to begin. The department has asked for the list of such works at the earliest after the Election Commission sought the same. Delhi will go to polls on February 8 to elect 70 members and the results will be declared on February 11. In a written communication to all chief engineers, the PWD said the department has sought details of such works on January 9 and the office of Delhi Chief Electoral Office on January 14. "You are again requested to send the information on priority through email "mailto:electiondelhi2020@gmail.com" \nelectiondelhi2020@gmail.com under intimation to this office," said the written communication issued on Friday. It also stated that the list of works which have already been started on the ground and list of fresh work which has not started on the ground should be sent. Earlier this month, the services department of the Delhi government had asked HoDs to ensure that neither the proposals sent by them breach the model code of conduct nor the compliance of court orders are delayed due to the fear of their breach. "All departments of the government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, while forwarding proposals to the chief secretary for consideration or approval, should clearly mention that provisions of the Model Code of Conduct are not attracted," it had said.

<ul><li>The <keyword id="6355833" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="united-nations">United Nations</keyword> declared December 3 as the International Day of <keyword id="6534205" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="persons-with-disabilities">Persons with disabilities</keyword> (PWD) to promote the rights and well-being of disabled people. </li><li>Over 2% of Indians are differently-abled or have some sort of disability, according to the National Statistical Office (NSO). </li><li>Accenture skilled over 23,000 persons with disabilities in India. </li><li>Uber has 12 employee resource groups — including ‘Able at Uber’ — a community for employees living with disabilities.</li></ul>The United Nations declared December 3 as the International Day of Persons with disabilities (PWD) to promote the rights and well-being of disabled people. According to the National Statistical Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, over 2% of Indians are differently-abled or have some sort of disability. However, almost 80% of them are not employed in the workforce and merely 23% are employed as salaried employees, TOI <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/just-15-of-indias-disabled-employed-in-a-regular-job/articleshow/72345928.cms">reported</a>. This is despite a regulation that says PSUs must hire 4% of its employees from the category. “Differently abled people, if skilled for the appropriate job roles, can perform better or at par with other employees. Employers with disabled workers consistently report that, as a group, persons with disabilities perform at par or better than their non-disabled peers on measures such as productivity, safety and attendance,” Neeti Sharma, senior vice president of TeamLease Services told Business Insider India. Indian companies too are trying hard to address diversity and inclusion at workplace. Technology major Accenture recognizes more than 60 types of disabilities as per the UN recommendations. Accenture has skilled over 23,000 persons with disabilities in India. It also rolled out a six-month internship to create a skilled talent pool of persons with disabilities. Ride-hailing platform Uber is also promoting cultural values at workplace to boost participation. The idea is to support physical, mental, and emotional disabilities of employees. “Each employee is encouraged to bring their authentic self to work and can personally drive change by volunteering in one of our 12 employee resource groups. These include ‘Able at Uber’ — community for employees living with disabilities,” Uber said. But companies and organizations need to come together to change the dismally low employment numbers. And a mindset change needs to come in as well. “It’s important to educate teams about the realities of the conditions the differently abled employees come with. Teams may require training or workshops on how to improve and diversify their communication styles and more effectively mentor, lead, and communicate with employees with disabilities,” added Neeti from TeamLease Services. New Delhi, Jun 15 () The Delhi government Monday directed its Public Works Department to install within 24 hours CCTV cameras in COVID-19 wards of its all coronavirus-designated hospitals here. The order came soon after Union Home Minister Amit Shah directed Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev to install CCTV cameras in COVID-19 wards of every designated hospital in the national capital for proper monitoring of services and ensuring patients' issues are resolved. "It is hereby directed that Covid wards in all Covid Hospitals of Delhi Government shall have CCTV cameras for efficient monitoring and supervision of patient care," said the order issued by Delhi government's Health Department.. It said the PWD will install CCTV cameras in all COVID-19 wards within 24 hours and submit a compliance report through pshealth@nic.in. After paying a surprise visit to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) hospital here earlier in the day, Shah also suggested psychosocial counselling of doctors and nurses engaged in the service of humanity through the fight against coronavirus. Lucknow, Apr 12 () The Public Works Department (PWD) of Uttar Pradesh has been serving food to the needy and the poor twice a day in all 75 districts of the state since the lockdown was imposed to combat coronavirus, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said on Sunday. Community kitchens have been set up for this purpose at PWD guest houses in the districts and care is being taken to ensure the quality of food and adherence to social distancing norms, Maurya, who also holds the PWD portfolio, told here."The community kitchens are providing food to the needy persons in the districts twice a day. Dry rations are also being distributed from these community kitchens. These will continue to operate as long as the lockdown exists," he said.The community kitchens run by the PWD, the Bridge Corporation and the Rajkiya Nirman Nigam (an UP government undertaking) are also coordinating with the officials of the district administration, Maurya said.The UP deputy chief minister said the nationwide lockdown was essential to curtail the spread of the deadly virus and secure the future of the country.He urged people to follow the guidelines issued by the government and obey the lockdown norms."The Centre and the state government have already made arrangements to provide essential items to the public so that no one faces any problem," he said in a statement. Brookfield is buying Hiranandani’s office space for a whopping $1 billion

Every Delhiite has gone through the pain of finding and booking venues for wedding and other functions in the city. But soon they might get respite from the tedious task as Public Works Department (<keyword id="55856" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="PWD">PWD</keyword>), the premier agency of <keyword id="6354952" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Delhi-Government">Delhi government</keyword>, has launched a <a href="https://pwddelhi.com/UI/Booking/OnlineBookingDetail.aspx">trial version</a> of online booking of community centres and parks for marriages and other events. Once the trial is successfully completed and the deficiencies are met, the proper booking system would be up and running for actual use. 
 
"We have started the trial run of online booking system for community centres and open space/parks. With the launch of this project, Delhiites can book PWD's parks and community centres for marriage functions and other events online and even make payment through Internet. This project may be launched on 1 December," said a senior official from PWD. 
 
Presently, these venues can be booked only by visiting the Delhi Secretariat office, and thus consumes a lot of time and efforts of citizens. The motive of launching the online booking system is to save time of the technologically sound citizens. Also, in the wake of a recent corruption scam whereby three tent operators were blacklisted by PWD on account of fraudulent bookings, this project will also help in bringing full-transparency in the venue booking process. 
 
Central and State government employees would have to book the venue 90 days before the function while those who are not employed with Central or State governments would have to book the venue 30 days prior to the function date. 
 
At present, PWD has over 12 community centres and open areas/parks located in Gulabi Bagh, Karkadooma, Kalyanvas and Timarpur.
