Shares of <keyword id="188355" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="PTC-India-Financial-Services" source="Orion">PTC India Financial Services</keyword> declined around 18 per cent in early trade on Thursday as the company on Wednesday announced that three of its independent directors have resigned from their posts with immediate effect. At 11.15 a.m., the shares traded at Rs 21.15, down 17.5 per cent. Three independent directors were Kamlesh Shivji Vikamsey, Thomas Mathew T., and Santosh B. Nayar, respectively. They resigned over some corporate governance issues facing the company. This is apparently the first instance where all the independent directors of a company have resigned together. "We are in receipt of resignations from three independent directors mentioning some reasons. The matter will be addressed at the board level and subsequent updates will be communicated to all the stakeholders appropriately," the company said in a regulatory filing on Thursday. The company is promoted by PTC India, which is registered with RBI as NBFC. "As independent director, I have placed on record many times - specially over the past few months - my deep displeasure about the lack of appropriate information being made available to the Board," the regulatory filing in which Mathew's resignation was attached, read. "Even when supplied, I have questioned the very poor quality of information being shared with the directors as also complete disregard to timelines in flow of information to the directors between the company management and the board is necessary for the independent directors to function effectively and reasonably perform our duties," Mathew's resignation letter further read. PTC India Financial Services slips 18% after three independent directors resign

<keyword id="141555" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Securitisation" source="Orion">Securitisation</keyword> volume in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> jumped 42 per cent on-year and past the Rs 1.15 lakh crore mark in the first nine months of this <keyword id="46627" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fiscal" source="Orion">fiscal</keyword>, said credit rating agency CRISIL Ratings Ltd. According to CRISIL Ratings, the market activity in the quarter that ended December 2022 continued the momentum witnessed in April to September period. The activity was broad-based, with wider participation, as the number of originators crossed 120 compared with about 100 in the preceding fiscal. Among new originators in the securitised market were small finance banks that have increased their securitised issuances in recent quarters and added this mechanism as one of their routes to access incremental liquidity. Growth in the non-mortgage space was led by commercial vehicle (31 per cent) and microfinance (14 per cent) loans, CRISIL Ratings said. The credit rating agency said the unsecured loans, including personal and business loans, also continued to draw investor attention, comprising seven per cent of the securitised assets compared with three per cent in fiscal 2022. The share of property-backed loans, though, declined to about 38 per cent from about 43 per cent. Senior Director and Deputy Chief Ratings Officer <keyword id="198711" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="krishnan-sitaraman" source="Orion">Krishnan Sitaraman</keyword> said: "The securitisation market is continuing to regain its mojo post the pandemic, propped up by a resurgence in microfinance and increasing preference among investors for vehicle loans. Additionally, personal and business loans seem to be gaining greater acceptance, bringing diversity to the bouquet of asset classes being securitised." According to the report, direct assignment (DA) transactions accounted for 60 per cent of the nine-month transaction quantum with this route being utilised for the sell-down of most mortgage and gold loan pools. Correspondingly, the share of pass-through certificates (PTCs) was at 40 per cent, down marginally from 41 per cent a year ago. On the investor side, foreign banks and multinational institutions (about 14 per cent) were more active, given their preference for investing in PTCs backed by loans advanced to economically weaker sections. Private (53 per cent) and public sector (25 per cent) banks remained the largest investor groups, while the share of nonbanks remained low with mutual funds also making sporadic investments. The public sector banks have invested in PTC-backed pools comprising a vehicle, microfinance, and unsecured business loan receivables in recent quarters, the report said. Securitisation volume in India jumps 42% past ₹1.15 lakh cr mark in 9MFY23: Crisil

The year 2015 is a landmark in our pursuit of sustainability! The <keyword id="6355833" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="united-nations" source="Orion">United Nations</keyword> adopted Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development in 2015, including 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the environment, and ensure prosperity for all, laying a roadmap to ensure sustainable social, environmental, and economic progress worldwide. In the same year, <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> and 195 other member nations adopted the Paris Agreement—the most ambitious effort so far to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change. The Agreement aims to limit the rise in the 21st century’s mean global temperature to within 1.5°C of pre-industrial levels and saw a slight shift from the Kyoto Protocol Principles of Common but Differentiated Responsibilities. <keyword id="3087299" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="paris-agreement" source="Orion">Paris Agreement</keyword> called for all countries to submit a plan, known as a Nationally Determined Contribution (<keyword id="66873" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ndc" source="Orion">NDC</keyword>), that detailed their contributions to achieving the agreement’s objectives. All parties must revise NDCs every five years to aim for even faster progress towards net-zero emissions and should regularly report on their emissions and their implementation efforts. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="India’s commitment to climate action" comment="subhead" text="India’s commitment to climate action">India’s commitment to climate action</cmsannotation> Recognising that technology and finance will be key enablers, India’s NDC detailed its two-pronged approach, comprising the promotion of clean <keyword id="6357014" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="energy" source="Orion">energy</keyword> technology and enhancing energy efficiency. In addition, our country identified other mitigation strategies like developing climate-resilient urban centres and setting up a green transportation network for safe, smart, and sustainable emissions reduction. In line with the spirit of the Agreement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced India’s upgraded Panchamrit strategy at the 26th Conference of Parties (COP-26) last year, comprising five immediate goals to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070. Chief amongst them is reaching a non-fossil fuel energy capacity of 500 GW by 2030, with at least 50% of all energy requirements being met by renewable energy sources. Furthermore, outlining the country’s strong climate ambition for the current decade, India has called upon the investor community to invest in research and development, manufacturing, and deployment of green technologies, also known as <keyword id="736063" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="green-infrastructure" source="Orion">green infrastructure</keyword> finance. On its part, the <keyword id="26362" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="government" source="Orion">Government</keyword> of India (GoI) has already launched a Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI) in partnership with the UK government to mobilise private capital in support of green energy projects in India. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Towards clean energy" comment="subhead" text="Towards clean energy">Towards clean energy</cmsannotation> Even before the formation of CFLI India, the country had already more than doubled the share of renewable energy in the total energy mix from 11.8% in March 2015 to 25.2% in July 2021. Additionally, about 63 GW of renewable energy capacity is under various construction phases and will add to the current non-fossil fuel-based installed capacity of 157.32GW. With India’s power requirements estimated to reach 817 GW by 2030 as per the Central Electricity Authority, the country will need to tackle cost headwinds for solar power projects caused by a nearly 35% increase in the average price of imported solar PV modules over the past year. The Indian chapter of the CFLI will thus aim to accelerate financing for renewable energy infrastructure, with a particular focus on solar and wind power-based projects. This initiative will go a long way in supporting the achievement of India’s target of 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030 and can potentially take installed power capacity from non-fossil fuels to 66% of the total energy capacity in the country. According to climate and energy research firm CEEW Centre for Energy Finance (CEEW-CEF), India will need close to US$10 trillion or roughly ₹750 lakh crore to meet its goals of net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. This will involve taking India’s total installed solar power capacity to over 5,600 GW by 2070, dropping the usage of coal for power generation by 99% before 2060 and developing <a href="https://www.ceew.in/publications/reducing-green-hydrogen-production-cost-in-india">Green hydrogen</a> infrastructure to contribute 19% of the total industrial sector’s energy needs by 2070. India has also signalled that the future of mobility is Electric! This is also evident from the continuous decline in Battery pack pricing, decreasing from around Rs 75,000/kWh in 2010 to Rs 11,000/kWh in 2021, bringing the EV sector to the forefront as the country’s next sunshine sector. Technology cost, customer preference, and infrastructure rollout remain the critical impediments to the faster adoption of Electric vehicles. India’s retail vehicle finance industry is estimated at Rs 4.50 lakh crore as per <keyword id="2644759" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="niti-ayog" source="Orion">Niti Ayog</keyword>, and only recently specialised EV loans have been taken up by the Banks/FIs. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Financing a sustainable future" comment="subhead" text="Financing a sustainable future">Financing a sustainable future</cmsannotation> A NITI Aayog report estimates that the energy sector would need US$4.5 trillion by 2030 to address the current infrastructure gaps and increase the renewable energy sector’s share to 50% of the total energy produced. With the country relying on domestic finance so far, the onus is now clearly on local and foreign entities to step-up green infrastructure financing initiatives. It will be a critical enabler for the world’s fastest-growing major economy to achieve its ambitious targets set for 2030. Foreign funds are now available to meet this demand, but they come with perils. The overall financing cost of such foreign funds can also be a non-starter for many domestic players as it would appear that this cheap financing is available at 2 to 4%, but hedge fund cost makes it too steep. The Government can step in by establishing a Hedge Fund, which can bring in the necessary respite. This Government hedge fund can be created to fund risks on account of currency fluctuation up to a certain range, thereby bringing down the overall cost for developers seeking the Foreign funds. Debt funds can also be tapped to offer cheaper financing when projects are implemented in India. In the past, the Government had also provided additional Income tax incentives under Section 80CCF under Infrastructure Bonds. Evidently, the growth of infrastructure projects, especially renewables, accelerated during that period. Currently, the Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess and the Road and Infrastructure Cess are levied on the sale of petrol and diesel. Similarly, a cess can be earmarked for financing Green Infrastructure projects. We have also witnessed a surge in the Energy exchange prices late, with the thermal merchant power plants being the biggest beneficiaries in the Day-Ahead Markets. Although the Central Regulator has stepped in and put a forbearance price for such sale of power, however, a mechanism should be in place to introduce sharing of such windfall gains by contributing a certain percentage of the profits towards Green Infrastructure development. US stocks slipped on Tuesday, with the S&amp;P 500 and the Dow Jones industrial average trading lower after closing at record highs on Monday, as traders baulk at spiking virus cases. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 167 points lower, and the S&amp;P 500 was down 0.48%. These are the stocks to watch out for during the trading session today: Lakshmi Vilas Bank On Tuesday evening, the government placed Lakshmi Vilas Bank under a one-month moratorium, superseded its board and capped withdrawals at ₹25,000 per depositor. The step was taken by the government, on the advice of the Reserve Bank, in view of the declining financial health of the private sector lender. Meanwhile, the RBI has also placed in the public domain a draft scheme of amalgamation of Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) with DBS Bank. The shares of Lakshmi Vilas Bank ended 0.32% lower on Tuesday. DLF DLF gets listed on Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), becoming the only Indian realty firm to be included in the DJSI index. The index recognised DLF based on its record for its governance, social and environmental initiatives. DJSI Emerging Markets Index in 2020 recognised 100 companies across industries in emerging markets like China, Brazil, Hong Kong, Mexico, Chile, Thailand, Taiwan, Colombia, amongst others besides India. The shares of DLF ended 1.4% higher on Tuesday. Tata Steel HDFC Mutual Funds reduced its stake in Tata Steel from 5.02% to 2.96% on November 12. The shares of Tata Steel ended 6% higher on Tuesday. Oil and Natural Gas Corp ONGC has signed contracts for seven oil and gas blocks it had won in the latest bid round that saw scant participation from the private sector. The shares of ONGC ended 2% lower on Tuesday. IIFL Securities The board of IIFL Securities will meet on November 20 to consider the share buyback proposal. The shares of IIFL Securities ended 20% higher on Tuesday. PTC India Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund reduced its stake in PTC India from 5.46% to 3.42% on November 12. The shares of PTC India ended 1.3% higher on Tuesday. IRCTC The Indian Railways operator IRCTC cancelled running of two Tejas Express trains due to low occupancy levels owing to Covid-19. The shares of IRCTC India ended 1.04% lower on Tuesday. Just Dial In a BSE filing, Just Dial informed investors that the company is pursuing all legal remedies in the Court to counter the allegations filed by Indiamart Intermesh pertaining to the launch of its proposed B2B project – JD Mart. The company also said that JD Mart platform’s development is running as per the planned schedule, and the product demo is already available on the company’s platforms, which will be launched in due course of time after seeking legal recourse, as may be necessary. <ul class="summary-list"><li>The combined market value of Adani Group's companies fell below $100 billion on Tuesday, per Bloomberg.</li><li>The 10 listed companies have wiped out over $136 billion in market cap since a short-seller's bombshell report.</li></ul>India's Adani Group has seen the market value of its listed companies fall below $100 billion as the conglomerate struggles to calm investor nerves in the wake of a bombshell short-seller's report.The rout in Adani stocks continued to deepen Tuesday, even after Gautam Adani, the tycoon who spearheads the group, <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/f6e608e3-9b37-4c74-b8d6-257e28cfc204" target="_blank" rel="noopener">played down the losses</a> as "temporary" volatility last week. The Indian conglomerate's 10 listed companies — with businesses ranging from power, ports, transmission, gas, green energy, and food — now have a combined equity market value under $100 billion, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-02-21/adani-group-market-value-drops-below-100-billion-as-rout-widens" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bloomberg reported</a>. Shares in Adani Enterprises dropped about 3.2% to just over 1,568 rupees ($18.94) in Mumbai on Tuesday, while those in Adani Green Energy, Adani Transmission and Adani Total Gas all fell by their daily lower limit of 5%. But Adani Power was up 5%, and Adani Ports edged 0.6% higher.The group's companies have collectively lost more than $136 billion in market capitalization since US short-seller Hindenburg Research <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/adani-group-hindenburg-research-short-report-4th-richest-person-world-2023-1">released a scathing report</a> in January alleging the Adani Group engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud. It accused the Indian conglomerate of "<a href="https://hindenburgresearch.com/adani/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pulling the largest con in corporate history</a>." The Adani Group has denied the claims repeatedly and <a href="https://www.adanienterprises.com/newsroom/media-releases/Media-Statement-on-Hindenburg-Research-Report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dismissed</a> the report as "misinformation and stale, baseless and discredited allegations." Last week, the Adani electricity unit called off an $847 million acquisition of a power station, in a sign of a spending slowdown, <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/694736a5-5e1a-4281-b80e-d4ae7abb7c4c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">per the Financial Times</a>. Beaten-up Adani stocks have now fallen below $100 billion in market value after coming under short-seller attack

The Nifty ended August with monthly losses of 6.6 percent as investors grappled with a global downturn in equities kicked off by China's surprise devaluation in the middle of the month. 
 
Meanwhile, the Index shed 31 points to end Monday at 7,971 points as it gave up gains due to selling in the last two hours of trade. It made an intra-day high of 8,040 points. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=BHEL">BHEL</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Power+Grid">Power Grid</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bharti">Bharti</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ACC">ACC</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bosch">Bosch</a> slipped in trade while Pharma stocks dominated the gainers list: Lupin, Cipla, Dr. Reddy's, Coal India and BPCL notched up gains. The Advance-Decline Ratio on the Nifty was 22/28. 
 
Glenmark and Indiabulls Housing Finance were the top two traded stocks as they entered the MSCI India Index. More than 800 crore rupees worth of each stock was purchased on the National Stock Exchange. 
 
Broader market indices gave up their early gains. As a consequence, CNX 100, CNX 200, CNX 500, CNX Mid Cap and CNX Junior Indices fell between 0.4-0.6 percent. The Bank nifty slid 65 points to 17,146. CNX Auto, CNX Energy CNX Finance and CNX PSU Bank Indices also lost ground. Strong gains were seen on CNX Pharma Index, as also on CNX Metals and CNX IT Indices. 
 
The mood was equally sombre on the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bombay+Stock+Exchange">Bombay Stock Exchange</a> where the Sensex lost 109 points, or 0.4 percent, at 26,283 points. <keyword id="6354446" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="BHEL">BHEL</keyword>, <keyword id="6406583" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Bharti">Bharti</keyword> Airtel, Hindalco and ICICI Bank were the top losers while Lupin, Cipla, Dr. Reddy's, Coal India and Vedanta posted gains. The Advance Decline Ratio on the Sensex was 10/20 and State Bank of India was the top traded counter with 44 crore rupees of shares traded. 
 
The futures and options market was more buoyant than its cash counterpart as the new monthly expiry took root. Divi's Labs, Ajanta Pharma, Reliance Communications and PTC were the top gaining futures while M&amp;M Finance, Crompton Greaves, Amtek Auto and Indiabulls Housing Finance slipped below friday's close. The Advance-Decline Ratio was 66/92 and Nifty futures slipped 0.3 percent to end the day at 8,001 points. 
 
Bears dominated the broader markets as well with 1,170 shares gaining versus 1,489 stocks that dropped. 
 
Escorts, D S Kulkarni, and Jubilant Industries hit fresh highs on the NSE while Trent, Blue Dart and Glenmark made it to the top volume buzzers list on the exchange.

Here's how the day was at the Markets

The <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> remained under selling pressure in early deals on Wednesday as weak Asian markets exerted their negative influence on <keyword id="6355178" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Dalal-Street">Dalal Street</keyword> and the rate cut by China went unappreciated on Indian shores. 
 Trade will be choppy today as <keyword id="6354298" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="stocks">stocks</keyword> approach the monthly end of futures and options expiry on Thursday. 
 
The Nifty fell 10 points to 7,870 in initial trades, recovering from a low of 7,793. As a consequence, the Advance-Decline ration was 18/32. Vedanta, BHEL, Ambuja Cement, Dr. Reddy's and Hero Motors were the top five losers on the Index while Tata Power, Wipro, ONGC, Idea and Cairn posted strong to modest gains. 
 HDFC and Infosys were the top two traded stocks on the NSE along with Gujarat Pipavav Ports and <keyword id="6653" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="ICICI-bank">ICICI Bank</keyword> . All four stocks traded in the red. 
 
The trend was mixed in the broader markets with bigger indices such as CNX 100, CNX 200 and CNX 500 showing a bit of green. Modest gains were seen on CNX Nifty Junior Index as well. But the Bank Nifty, CNX Finance and the CNX PSU Banking Index remained under bear control. Meanwhile, CNX Auto, CNX Energy and CNX Media edged up strongly in trade. 
 On the <keyword id="43628" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bombay-stock-exchange">Bombay Stock Exchange</keyword>, the Sensex fell 59 to 25,973 points with 13 stocks gaining versus 17 that fell. Hero Motors, Cipla, Axis Bank and ITC were among top losers while Wipro, Lupin, Coal India and GAIL inched up. State Bank of India was the top traded counter on the Sensex, which exhibited low volumes in the first hour of trade. 
 
Overall, the Advance-Decline Ratio favoured the long side with 1,031 shares gaining versus 763 that fell on the Bombay Stock Exchange. 
 
And in the futures and options space, the front month Nifty contract traded flat. PTC, India Cements and GMR Infra were top gainers while Federal Bank, SAIL, Hero Motor and Ambuja Cement fell in trade. 
 
JK Cement, Gujarat Pipavav Port, GATI and BAG Films made it to the top volume buzzers list.
