According to the home department officials, 44 companies of <keyword id="161668" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="provincial-armed-constabulary" source="Orion">Provincial Armed Constabulary</keyword> (PAC) and four companies of para military forces have been deployed at major railway stations. Senior police officials will be supervising arrangements in 14 sensitive districts. Lakhimpur Kheri incident: Uttar Pradesh on alert due to farmer's 'rail roko' protest on Monday

New <keyword id="66" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword>, In a bid to ensure no disturbance to the law and order situation, thousands of police personnel have been deployed ahead of the <keyword id="45092" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="farmers">farmers</keyword>' Republic Day tractor parade. Taking no chance, the <keyword id="6355944" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="ghaziabad-police">Ghaziabad Police</keyword> have deployed 1,000 constables, 500 head constables, 300 <keyword id="1306339" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="sub-inspectors">Sub Inspectors</keyword>, 50 inspectors, 12 Circle Officers and six additional Superintendent Police (SP) on duty for the farmers' January 26 parade. Also, to take care of the vehicular movement, the traffic police has also enhanced its deployment with 400 constables, 50 head constables, among other officials. Ahead of farmers Republic Day tractor parade, thousands of police personnel deployed in Ghaziabad

Lucknow, The Uttar Pradesh government has put on <keyword id="42048" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Alert">alert</keyword> all law enforcing agencies following the call for a four-hour rail blockage from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday by the <keyword id="3573660" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sanyukt">Sanyukt</keyword> <keyword id="404602" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kisan-Sangharsh-Samiti">Kisan Sangharsh Samiti</keyword>. The railway ministry has put the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and <keyword id="6359080" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="government-railway-police">Government Railway Police</keyword> (GRP) on high alert. Senior officials conducted checking at <keyword id="6389854" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="railway-stations">railway stations</keyword> and have identified vulnerable spots. <keyword id="1588424" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Farmer-leaders">Farmer leaders</keyword> have already been warned of legal action if they attempt to stop the trains. Superintendent of Police GRP, Agra, Mohammad Mushtaq said, "Nobody without a confirmed ticket will be allowed to enter inside the railway stations. Only one entry and exit gates will be operational on Thursday. All the GRP stations have been put on alert. We have sought deployment of PAC around railway stations. Local police will also help in keeping the train operations unaffected." It is suspected that the protesting farmers may try to board trains by taking tickets and then stop the train outside the stations. Additional commandant RPF Dinesh Kumar said, "Special duties have been assigned to stop protesters from occupying railway tracks. Adequate arrangement has been made for deployment of force at all the railway stations. We will not let the movement of trains be affected. Legal action will be taken against those who try to create disturbance." Her husband, a businessman, also helps her in looking after the children. "Even though I am holding my baby in my arms, I have been performing my duty with full dedication and have booked many people who were loitering in the area. On Monday, we issued around 20 e-challans for violating the lockdown norms," said the cop. Superintendent of Police (city) Amit Anand said that it was laudable that the police personnel are conscious of their duties and are performing them even in adverse circumstances. By Kishor Dwivedi Noida/Ghaziabad, Apr 14 () Amid the coronavirus outbreak, prisoners in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar jails have stitched around 85,000 washable, cotton face masks, to protect people from the deadly virus.The two districts adjoining Delhi in western Uttar Pradesh have together recorded 107 COVID-19 cases -- 27 in Ghaziabad and 80 in Gautam Buddh Nagar -- so far, according to official figures.Over 57,000 of these masks have been made at the Dasna jail in Ghaziabad, while 27,500 have been stitched at the Luksar jail in Gautam Buddh Nagar, officials said.The work had started in these two prisons after the Holi festival in March but before the announcement of the 21-day lockdown, a senior official said. "As more and more information about the coronavirus outbreak started coming in, some of the skilled prison inmates rose up to the occasion and volunteered for the job," Vipin Mishra, the superintendent of Dasna as well as Luksar jail, told ."Around 20 prison inmates at the Dasna jail, and 12-14 at Luksar are engaged in the work. Prisoners get a daily wage between Rs 25 and Rs 40 for their work, depending on the nature of their job – skilled, semi-skilled or unskilled. Here, those making the masks, additionally get Re 1 per mask," Mishra said.The fabric used in the masks is procured locally, he said. "There is an advantage with these masks. These can be washed and re-used unlike some other varieties as disposing them is a concern... The inmates have churned out around 85,000 washable, cotton masks," the superintendent said.He also lauded the commitment and intention of the inmates engaged in the work. "There are all kinds of people in the world, good and bad both. Here also we have a lot of good people who have devoted themselves for this work now," Mishra said.The officer said the masks have been used by the inmates in the jails in the two adjoining districts as well as by police personnel and those in the Uttar Pradesh provincial armed constabulary (PAC)."These masks have also been made available to NGOs working for the poor people and some other organisations working during the pandemic," he added. However, officials fear that the mask production might come to a halt soon as the stock of raw material is limited and the fabric is not readily available in the market due to the ongoing nationwide lockdown. "The inmates are using the fabric procured earlier. Once that stock is exhausted, we will have to figure out what to do next," Mishra said. KIS RHL
