IGI Origins trailer out — a prequel of popular first-person shooter Project IGI set to make a comeback

New Delhi, Jan 18 (PTI) The problem of inundation of the IGI Airport here is expected to be "comprehensively" addressed after the completion of a key sewage water drain at Dwarka, the DDA said Tuesday as authorities made a provision of Rs 47.49 crore for the project in its annual budget. The Delhi Development Authority's budget for 2022-23 has also financially augmented its flagship East Delhi Hub project at Karkardooma that is based on transit-oriented development norms; Delhi Cycle Walk and other important projects. The budget with an annual outlay of Rs 7,933 crore -- and projected receipts of Rs 7,943 crore -- was approved in an online meeting of the Authority, chaired by Lt Governor Anil Baijal, also chairman of the DDA, officials said. "Provision of Rs 47.49 croe in budget estimate 2022-23 has been made for construction of sewage water drain at Sector-8, Dwarka to cater the discharge of drain water from airport and development and rehabilitation of Trunk Drain No. 2 and Trunk Drain No. 5 for reusing the drain water for horticulture purpose. "Once completed, this project is expected to comprehensively address the problem of inundation of IGI Airport, every time there is heavy rainfall," the DDA said in a statement. The Delhi Development Authority has unveiled a sustainable development-oriented budget, officials said, adding allocations have been made to various environment-related initiatives. The DDA has planned a dedicated corridor track for cyclists and pedestrians. The Delhi Cycle Walk project is being planned with the objective to take a large number of car rides out of the Delhi roads. "The work on Phase-I of the Delhi cycle walk with a dedicated corridor for cyclists and pedestrians named 'Neelgai line' from Badarpur to Malviya Nagar is in progress and a provision of Rs 6 cr has been made in BE 2022-23," the statement said. Lt Governor Baijal last September had asked the DDA to proactively pursue grant of approvals and clearances pending with various agencies for timely completion of the Delhi Cycle Walk project. The project seeks to make the city most walkable and environment-friendly and its total cost is Rs 550 cr. Proposed in 2020, it is likely to be completed in four years, a senior DDA offical had earlier said. While the whole network over the years shall exceed 200 km, in phase 1 it will be 36 km. There are three lines chosen for fast and quick adaption. These lines are -- Nilgai Line: Badarpur to Malviya Nagar Metro Station –20.5 km; Peacock Line -- Malviya Nagar metro station to Vasant Kunj Mall -- 8.5 km; and Bulbul Line -- Chirag Dilli to Nehru Place and ISKCON Temple. The budget has also made a provision of Rs 426 cr for East Delhi Hub project. The DDA has undertaken the integrated development of this project at Karkardooma with mixed land usage based on transit-oriented development-based norms, with mixed land usage on 30 ha of land. It is being executed by NBCC and involves the construction of 1,524 houses in the first phase with a project cost of Rs 1,168 crore, the statement said. The hub will be developed around the existing two Delhi Metro stations at Karkardooma -- on the Blue and Pink Lines -- and will include a massive open landscaped green area, besides a 48-storey signature tower that will come up in the first phase of the project, officials had said during its launch. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had laid the foundation stone in December 2019 and asserted that it would be inaugurated in the tenure of the current government at the Centre. Among other projects, the DDA had identified three commercial centers namely, Nehru Place, Bhikaji Cama Place and Basant Lok Community Centre for upgrading. While the work of upgrading of Basant Lok Community Centre has already been completed, the work on Nehru Place and Bhikaji Cama Place, is in progress and a provision of Rs 26.60 cr has been made in the budget, the DDA said. Besides, a provision of Rs 6 cr has been made in the budget for construction of 'Utsav pandals' at Madangir, Dwarka, Rohini and CBD Shahdara Utsav Pandal, officials said. In addition, work on setting up decentralised STPs, wastewater treatment plants, so as to close borewells supplying water to the city parks is being taken up in a phased manner and steps are also being taken to recharge the bore wells. A provision of Rs 7.9 crore has been provided in BE 2022-23 for setting up of STPs, officials said, adding, there are 787 parks under DDA, having a total area of 11,258 acres, and the total maximum average daily water requirement is 34.3 ML per day. National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) spokesperson Sushma Gaur said, "NHSRCL is exploring all the possibilities to plan two high speed rail stations in Delhi." She said that one of the stations is in close proximity of Sarai Kale Khan and Nizamuddin railway station for Delhi-Varanasi high speed rail corridor, which may provide road connectivity to the high speed rail users through outer ring road, metro connectivity through pink line metro, interstate bus connectivity through Sarai Kale Khan ISBT and regional rail connectivity through RRTS system. The NHSRCL has started the aerial LiDAR survey for the 800km Delhi-Varanasi high speed rail corridor earlier this month. She said that the tenders related to <keyword id="387162" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="data-collection">data collection</keyword> and various other activities including LiDAR survey, required for the preparation of Detail Project Reports for Delhi-Varanasi, for which the first draft of the DPR has already been submitted. The NHSRCL on January 10 this year launched the LiDAR survey for the Delhi-Varanasi route from Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida, wherein a helicopter fitted with state-of-the-art aerial LiDAR and imagery sensors will capture data related to the ground survey along the proposed route. Another official related to the development told IANS that there will be two high speed rail stations in the Gautam Budha Nagar. Another official related to the development said that one of the high-speed rail station will come up near the proposed Jewar International Airport while the another one near Sector 148 in Noida. Talking about another station of the High Speed rail in Delhi, she said, "Locations are being explored for the other station for Delhi-Ahmedabad and Delhi-Amritsar high speed rail corridor, in close proximity of Sector-21, Dwarka Metro station and Bijwasan Railway station." She said that this may provide connectivity to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport and central Delhi through Airport Express Metro Line and West Delhi, Central Delhi, East Delhi and Noida through Blue line Metro Line, upcoming <keyword id="9565" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="International-Convention-Centre">International Convention Centre</keyword> at Sector-25 and Gurugram. The Delhi-Amritsar-Chandigarh is 459 km long high speed rail corridor while the Delhi-Ahmedabad is 886 km long High speed rail corridor. The official said that the high speed rail stations in the national capital will be finalised only after the DPRs are submitted. Besides these three corridors, the <keyword id="76223" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-Railways">Ministry of Railways</keyword> has entrusted the work to the NHSRCL to carry out the detailed project report (DPR) for the 711-km-long Mumbai-Hyderabad high-speed rail corridor, which will pass through Pune; 753-km-long Mumbai-Nagpur and as well as the 711-km-long Mumbai-Hyderabad bullet train corridor. The NHSRCL has also invited tenders for preparing the DPR for the 435-km-long Chennai-Mysuru and 760-km-long Varanasi-Howrah high speed rail corridors'. The NHSRCL is collecting data on these new proposed corridors for the preparation of the DPRs. LiDAR survey alignment or ground survey is a crucial activity for any linear infrastructure project as it provides accurate details of areas around the alignment. This technique uses a combination of laser data, GPS data, flight parameters and actual photographs to give accurate survey data. "Based on the findings of the survey, designing of the vertical and horizontal alignment, structures, location of the stations and depots, land requirement for the corridor, identification of project affected plots/structures, right of way etc are decided," Gaur said. The work on the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train project is also in full swing. The COVID-19 unleashed headwinds which have deeply impacted the airline and hospitality sector, now pose a major risk to the job security of over 2,00,000 workforce employed with the country's private airport operators. Accordingly, the <keyword id="8906128" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="association-of-private-airport">Association of Private Airport</keyword> Operators (APAO) has urged the Centre to come out with an economic relief package not only to stop downsizing but also to maintain the key infrastructure assets that the sector maintains. At present, approximately 2,40,000 people employed on airport sites, including airport operators' employees jobs are at stake. The downsizing impact will be felt across the country as New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad are some of the major airports which are handled by private entities. Currently, no foreign or domestic passenger flight operations are allowed till the deadline of April 14. Only cargo operations are taking place there by hitting the bottom lines of these companies. Not only is the income low but these entities are also in stress for paying up a huge chunk of the revenue to the government under the various management deals of respective airports. "We have approached the government requesting to immediately provide certain relief measures for the private airport operators, which will directly alleviate the financial burden for airports due to the COVID-19 outbreak," Satyan Nayar, Secretary General, Association of Private Airport Operators told IANS. "In the absence of any relief measures it is just a matter of days and not months that the operators might go in for a massive downturn to contain costs. This sector won't be able to sustain the manpower, it does right now." According to Nayar, the industry has sought deferment of taxes and other statutory dues, and one time waiver of revenue share being paid to state run pa rtner entities (AAI). "Plus as an infrastructure provider we need urgent lending lifelines to maintain and keep ready these critical facilities," he said. "India's air traffic in 2020 might plunge heavily. This will cause defaults on our side as well as airlines and other related sectors such as hospitality and tourism. It is vital that the government quickly moves to institute relief measures." Recently, Moody's Investors Service has downgraded the rating of <keyword id="4612385" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-international">Delhi International</keyword> Airport Limited, the firm which manages the IGI Airport's (DIAL) to Ba3 from Ba2. "The downgrade to Ba3 reflects our expectation of a sharp decline in passenger and aircraft traffic at Delhi Airport in the coming months and the uncertainty over the timing and extent of a recovery, which coincides with increased debt issuance as the airport enters the peak stage of its Rs 98 billion expansion project," Spencer Ng, a Moody's Vice President and Senior Analyst said in a report. Furthemore, Moody's Investors Service has placed GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited's (HIAL) Ba1 corporate family rating (CFR) on review for po ssible downgrade. Similarly, <keyword id="125045" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fitch-Ratings">Fitch Ratings</keyword> revised the outlook on DIAL's Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) and bond issue ratings to "Negative from Stable, and affirm ed the ratings at 'BB+'". Fitch Ratings also affirmed GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited's "Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) and its bond issue ratings at 'BB+' with a Negative Outlook". On its part, Angela Gittens, Director General of Airports Council International (ACI) in a letter dated March 31st to Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that revenue forecasts show the 2020 impact of the pandemic now stands at $23.9 billion for Asia-Pacific only, impacting airports of all sizes. "Analysis of preliminary weekly passenger data from January to the middle of March at 12 major hubs in Asia-Pacific handling around 22 per cent of traffic in the region, including <keyword id="89772" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indira-Gandhi-International-Airport">Indira Gandhi International Airport</keyword>, shows the increasing traffic deterioration, culminating in an average decrease in traffic by more than 80 per cent by the second week of March compared to the same period in 2019," Gittens said. We would urge your Authority to provide relief measures for the aviation sector to benefit all affected parties of the aviation sector and which will be strategic for the relaunch of the economy as soon as the crisis is over." After a long delay, finally India is unveiling its first <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=heliport&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">heliport</a> in Rohini area of New Delhi. 
 
The dedicated heliport, owned by<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=pawan+hans&amp;sortorder=effectivedate"> Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd</a> (PHHL), will carry passengers from Delhi to nearby areas. The heliport is a 100-crore project and will be integrated one with a chopper maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) unit. 
 
Aviation secretary R N Choubey said the Rs 100-crore project will be inaugurated on February 28 and will be an integrated one with a chopper maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) unit part of the complex at Rohini. 
 
The heliport will have parking bays, AC passenger terminal building and car parking area for the flyers. 
 
"Being a busy airport,<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=igi+airport&amp;sortorder=effectivedate"> IGI airport</a> does not have much space for helicopter movement. The Rohini one will be a dedicated heliport and will make chopper movement much easier," said Choubey. 
 
"To promote regional air connectivity, Pawan Hans has also prepared a roadmap to connect all the major destinations from this heliport such as Delhi to Shimla, Haridwar, Dehradun, Mathura, Agra, Meerut and industrial hubs such as Manesar, Bahadurgarh etc," Pawan Hans had stated.
