<ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="10473418" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="cathie-wood">Cathie Wood</keyword> is buying her own 3D printing ETF amid a fall in share prices.</li><li>Wood's ARK Space Exploration &amp; Innovation ETF (<keyword id="11019551" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="arkx">ARKX</keyword>) now owns nearly 5.8% of her 3D printing ETF.</li><li>ARKX is by far the largest shareholder of The 3D printing ETF (<keyword id="11069760" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="prnt">PRNT</keyword>). </li></ul><p>After Wednesday's trades, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cathie-wood-ark-invest-etf-bio-tesla-portfolio-reddit-profile-2021-2">Cathie Wood's</a> ARK Space Exploration &amp; Innovation ETF now owns nearly 5.8% of her own 3D printing fund, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.</p><p>The ARKX Space exchange-traded fund is by far the largest shareholder of Wood's 3D printing ETF, holding over 8 times more shares than the second-largest shareholder, Oppenheimer Holdings, which owns just 0.71% of the fund.</p><p>Not only that but with 895,275 shares, Wood's Space ETF holds more of her own 3D printing fund than the top 30 owners combined, who hold just 695,898 shares.</p><p>The Space Exploration &amp; Innovation ETF made its public debut on March 30 and took in <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/cathie-woods-space-etf-arkx-on-track-to-success-trading-2021-4-1030283212">$536.2 million</a> in its first five days on the market.</p><p>Despite the undeniably successful launch, the Space ETF has underperformed since going public, with shares stuck trading around the public debut price of $20.30 per share.</p><p>Some analysts and market commentators have criticized Wood's space offering for investing in companies that do not necessarily generate revenues from space-related activities.</p><p>ARKX's <a href="https://ark-funds.com/arkx">top holdings</a> are <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/trmb-stock?utm_source=markets&amp;utm_medium=ingest?utm_source=markets&amp;utm_medium=ingestm=ingest">Trimble</a>, a technology company that provides GPS, laser, and optical technologies, Cathie Wood's own 3D printing ETF,  <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/ktos-stock">Kratos Defense &amp; Security Solutions</a>, and the Chinese e-commerce giant <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/jd-stock">JD.com</a>.</p><p>The <keyword id="11069759" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="ark-3d-printing-etf">Ark 3D printing ETF</keyword>, which trades under the ticker "PRNT," has soared more than 51% over the past six months.</p><p>However, in the past few weeks, performance has begun to take a hit amid a rotation away from highly valued tech names in the market.</p><p>PRNT is down more than 21% from its February 9th record highs, and Cathie Wood is buying her own dip.</p><p>Wood remains confident in the upward trajectory of the market and her high-flying tech shares.</p><p>When Elon Musk <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/elon-musk-cathie-wood-ark-warren-buffett-indicator-not-worried-2021-4-1030277873">asked the fund manager</a> about the Buffett indicator-a ratio used by investors to gauge whether the market is fairly valued or not-<a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/warren-buffett-indicator-record-high-overvalued-stock-market-crash-2021-2-1030067388?utm_source=markets&amp;utm_medium=ingestgest" target="_blank" rel="noopener">flashing red</a> recently, Wood trumpeted innovation and argued GDP was an old and broken metric. </p><p>Wood continues to double down on her top tech stock picks. The fund manager's flagship fund the ARK Innovation ETF even picked up another 1,045,600 shares of Palantir on Wednesday.</p>

COVID-19 vaccine 'Covaxin' is effective against double mutant strain found in India, says ICMR

Hyderabad, <keyword id="9485939" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="covaxin">Covaxin</keyword>, the <keyword id="8983421" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Covid-vaccine">Covid vaccine</keyword> developed by <keyword id="149108" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bharat-Biotech">Bharat Biotech</keyword>, effectively neutralizes UK variants of SARS-CoV-2 reducing the possibility of mutant virus escape, finds a study.<br /><br />According to the research paper carried by bioRxiv, the preprint server for biology, the study has dispelled the uncertainty of possible neutralization escape.<br /><br />A group of researchers from Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR), National Institute of Virology, Pune and Bharat Biotech performed the plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT50) using sera collected from the 26 recipients of BBV152/Covaxin against hCoV-19/India/20203522 (UK-variant) and hCoV27 19/India/2020Q111 (heterologous strain).<br /><br />"A comparable neutralization activity of sera of the vaccinated individuals showed against UK-variant and the heterologous strain with similar efficiency, dispel the uncertainty of possible neutralization escape," says the paper, yet to be certified by peer review.<br /><br />It noted the rapid surge inSARS-CoV-2 cases due to UK variant raised concerns in several countries. Many of these countries had direct flights to and from UK and the variant was associated with high transmissibility. Identification of other variants from South Africa also initiated a global discussion on the challenges that these new variants could pose to the current vaccine candidates.<br /><br />The genome of the UK-variant has 17 mutations, eight of which were found in spike receptor-binding domain (RBD) mediating the attachment of the virus to the angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor on the surface of human cells. Therefore, it appeared that the majority of the vaccine candidates, being either recombinant or specifically targeting the single epitope of original D614G ancestral spike sequence, might not be able to generate an efficient immune response against the new variants.<br /><br />"Here, we successfully isolated and characterized the hCoV-19/India/20203522 SARS-CoV-2 (VOC) 202012/01 from UK returnees in India with all signature mutations of the UK-variant," it added.<br /><br />The new finding has come close on the heels of prestigious medical journal The Lancet Infectious Disease publishing phase-1 clinical trials studies of Covaxin.<br /><br />According to the journal, the vaccine produced tolerable safety outcomes and enhanced immune responses in its phase 1 trials.<br /><br />Bharat Biotech said this is the first clinical trial publication on a Covid-19 vaccine from India.<br /><br />The developments came amid controversy over efficacy of Covaxin, whose phase 3 trials are still underway.<br /><br />Covaxin is being administered in India in clinical trial mode as part of the nation-wide vaccination programme launched for healthcare workers on January 16.<br /><br />The vaccine maker on January 22 announced that 13,000 volunteers have been successfully administered the second dose of Covaxin in the phase-3 trials.<br /><br />The phase-3 human clinical trials of Covaxin began mid-November, targeted to be done in 26,000 volunteers across India.<br /><br />Covaxin is a highly purified and inactivated 2 dose SARS-CoV2 vaccine, manufactured in a Vero cell manufacturing platform with an excellent safety track record of more than 300 million doses.<br /><br />India's first indigenous Covid-19 vaccine by Bharat Biotech is developed in collaboration with ICMR - NIV.<br /><br />

There's a new way to bet on the future of 3D printing

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>Zika virus has gained an increasing foothold across the Americas and Pacific islands.&#xa0;<p>The virus, which is transmitted mainly <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/could-genetically-engineered-mosquitos-stop-zika-2016-1">via mosquitoes</a>, is part of a group of viruses called "flavivirus." It's closely related to other mosquito-borne infections, including dengue, West Nile, and yellow fever. They're geographically in similar areas, and they also have many of the same symptoms.</p><p>But because it's so similar to these other viruses, it makes Zika seriously difficult to test for. In <a href="http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/65/wr/mm6521e1.htm?s_cid=mm6521e1_w">a report released Tuesday from the CDC</a>, the agency noted that the antibody test used to diagnose Zika is difficult to read because of "cross-reactivity" with other flaviviruses. That "can preclude identification of the specific infecting virus, especially when the person previously was infected with or vaccinated against a related flavivirus," the CDC noted.</p><p>That led the agency to recommend a conservative approach to using a type of test called a plaque reduction neutralizing test (PRNT). That way, the test can be more closely checked to make sure it's not a false-positive for Zika when it was in fact another flavivirus like dengue and those infected can be treated and monitored in the appropriate way.&#xa0;</p><p>Once infected with Zika, only about 20% of people ever show&#xa0;<a href="http://www.cdc.gov/zika/symptoms/index.html">symptoms</a>&#xa0;of the virus, which most commonly include fever, rash, joint pain, and red eyes.</p><p>There is no vaccine or&#xa0;treatment available for the virus.&#xa0;One reason Zika is troubling is because <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/cdc-zika-causes-birth-defects-including-microcephaly-2016-4">it is a cause</a> of birth defects including microcephaly (a condition where the baby's head is abnormally small)&#xa0;in babies whose mothers have had Zika.
