Google today added a new feature to Search that will help prepaid SIM users across the country. The search giant announced that users will now be able to use Search to compare prepaid mobile plans of different telcos. Apart from comparing plans, users will also be able to compare discounts and cashbacks that are being offered by various apps on those <keyword id="1318902" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="recharges">recharges</keyword>. This will help users to select the best plans and go with the best offers at one place. Who can use this service? The service is currently available for signed-in users on Android devices. This means that if you are using search on a computer or an iOS device, you will not be able to use this feature. Which telecom operators are supported? At present, Google is collecting prepaid plans from the following operators: <ul><li>Airtel </li><li>Vodafone-Idea </li><li>Reliance <keyword id="2003276" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jio">Jio</keyword> </li><li>BSNL </li></ul>Can this service be used by postpaid users? How to use Google Search for mobile recharges <ul><li>On your Android smartphone, open the browser and login using your Google account. </li><li>Now, search for ‘prepaid mobile recharge’ or ‘Sim recharge’ and in the form, enter your mobile number, telecom operator and circle. </li><li>Now, tap on ‘Browse plans’. </li><li>Go through the available plans and click on the plan that you want to recharge with. </li><li>Now, look for the best offers from the four apps and select the one you want. </li><li>Complete the payment. </li></ul>Once you complete the transaction, you will get a confirmation page that also includes information about customer support for that recharge. Airtel announces cashback of ₹6,000, free one-time screen replacement on purchase of new devices

New Delhi, Apr 17 () Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have extended the validity of pre-paid mobile plans till May 3 for those users who could not recharge their account due to the lockdown imposed to contain Covid-19 spread. The extension in validity altogether benefits around 12 crore customers. It will enable customers to continue getting incoming calls even if they are unable to recharge their account till May 3. Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea had earlier extended validity till April 17 of pre-paid account holders."Many of these customers have been able to recharge through several channels activated by Airtel including - ATMs, post offices, grocery stores and chemist shops, in addition to digital channels. However, close to 30 million (3 crore) such customers have still not been able to recharge their pre-paid mobile accounts," Bharti Airtel said in a statement.The government announced nationwide lockdown starting March 24 till April 14. It has been further extended till May 3. Both Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea offer cashback or commission to their customers who recharge pre-paid account of subscriber on their network through apps of the respective companies. Vodafone Idea said free of cost extension of incoming service validity will enable millions of feature phone users of both Vodafone and Idea to continue to receive incoming calls, even if the validity of their plan expires earlier. "In order to ensure that consumers stay connected during this extended lock down, we are extending the incoming service validity of 90 million consumers till May 3," Vodafone Idea marketing director Avneesh Khosla said. The HMD Global-owned handset maker <keyword id="6354716" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nokia">Nokia</keyword> on Thursday, November 26 announced the launch of its budget smartphone <keyword id="9567394" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="nokia-2-4">Nokia 2.4</keyword> at ₹10,399 for the 3GB/64GB variant in India. The Nokia 2.4 comes in in Dusk, Fjord and Charcoal colour options. It will be available online on Nokia.com/phones from this Thursday and at retail outlets, Flipkart and Amazon starting December 4. The smartphone features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1,600 pixels) display that has a 20:9 aspect ratio with a notch on top. The phone measures 165.85x76.30x8.69mm and weighs 189 grams. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC paired with up to 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Nokia 2.4 is also Android 11 ready and comes with Android 10 out-of-the-box. "We've included high-end features like the AI camera with Night mode and Portrait mode," Sanmeet Singh Kochhar, Vice President, <keyword id="3368145" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="HMD-Global">HMD Global</keyword>, said in a statement. "The large screen makes for a more immersive visual experience, and for added security, a biometric fingerprint sensor is included, which is a first for the series," Kochhar added. The smartphone houses a dual rear camera setup that includes a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens and a 2MP depth sensor. There is also a 5MP selfie camera sensor at the front. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, FM radio, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. In addition, the Nokia 2.4 packs a 4,500mAh battery. According to the company, Nokia 2.4 customers on Jio would be entitled to benefits worth ₹3,550. The benefits include instant cashback of ₹2,000 on the prepaid recharge of ₹349 plan and ₹1,550 worth vouchers from partners.

<keyword id="3005928" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="FASTag">FASTag</keyword> is an innovative and sophisticated electronic toll collection system that is being introduced in India. This scheme is presently operated by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). FASTag works by Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Under this system, toll payments can be made directly from the prepaid or savings account linked to the system. FASTag is affixed to the windscreen of the vehicle and the vehicle can be driven through the toll plazas without making a stopover for transactions. The tag is made available for purchase from the participating banks or official Tag issuers. Once FASTag is linked to the prepaid account of the vehicle owner, recharging or top-up can be done as per the wish of the owner. FASTag has an unlimited validity as per the announcement made by NHAI. In order to promote the use of FASTag among the vehicle owners, 7.5% cashback offer has been introduced. In a number of toll plazas, there are exclusively dedicated lanes built for the vehicles fitted with FASTag. In January 2019, some state run oil companies like IOC, BPCL and HPCL have signed MoUs that make it possible to use FASTag system while making purchases from petrol pumps. FASTag lanes are increasing rapidly across a large number of toll plazas in the country. The government of India has announced that FASTag will be made mandatory for all vehicles from December 1, 2019. Those vehicles that have not moved to the FASTag system will have to pay double the toll charges as per the present announcement.

Having ruled like a king in the Internet wallet segment , Paytm has some serious competition from Snapdeal-owned Freecharge. Snapdeal-owned online recharge and utility payments platform Freecharge has launched a digital wallet. The combination of Freecharge and Snapdeal will create one of the largest mobile commerce ecosystems," Freecharge Cofounder Kunal Shah told The Economic Times. 
 
The company is planning to provide for nearly Rs 1,000 crore of cashbacks through the wallet as festive shopping picks up during October-December. 
 
The new wallet, which will allow consumers to make payments for transactions on both Freecharge and Snapdeal, is expected to strengthen the ecommerce company's position as it battles two of India's largest ecommerce companies, Paytm and Flipkart. 
 
Freecharge has tied up with YES Bank to launch the wallet. During the launch, new Freecharge Chief Operating Officer Govind Rajan took a jab at Paytm, comparing the two apps on features such as app size and transfer charges to the bank. Freecharge has also partnered with the payment bank licensee FINO to build scale and to reach out the underserved population, it said in a statement. 
 
Alibaba-backed Paytm recently received a payment bank licence from the Reserve Bank of India. Paytm, which owns a prepaid wallet licence already, claims to have more than 100 million wallet users in the country.
