One such tool is <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.anaconda.com/products/ai-navigator">AI Navigator</a>, a desktop app that can run AI models locally on Windows and Mac, with Linux support coming soon. The company has 300 full-time employees and 40 million users worldwide. Business Insider spoke with Wang to learn more about how AI workloads are prompting companies to think about bringing more of their <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/artificial-intelligence-data-privacy-on-premises-information-technology-solutions-2024-8">IT infrastructure on-premises</a> — and the hardware and software challenges that come with making such a move. The following has been edited for clarity and length. Can you talk about on-premises infrastructure and what that term means to you in 2024? On-premises initially meant servers within the company's physical location. Now it's more about the governance of infrastructure, including data, networking, and servers. Who manages it? Who gets to say, "No, absolutely, you can't do that," or, "Yes, you can do that?" At Anaconda, we see customers across the spectrum. Some have what we call air-gapped systems, not connected to the internet at all. These might be a box in a building somewhere, oftentimes guarded by people with machine guns, where you go in with a flash drive. That's the hardcore level of secure on-prem. On the other end, we see businesses that use a lot of cloud resources. But even they need stricter boundaries. They work with cloud providers to set up virtual private clouds or to provision resources with specific governance rules and policies. Why are companies interested in on-premises solutions for AI and large language models? We see a lot of interest from companies wanting control over their own destiny. They want to fine-tune models on their own data, connect them to internal databases for <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/retrieval-augmented-generation-making-ai-language-models-better-2024-5">retrieval-augmented generation</a>, and use agent-based models. If a company can only consume AI as a cloud end point, you have to tie all your internal systems to that cloud AI service, which is difficult. And many of these cloud AI companies, while they are well capitalized, are still relatively new as enterprise-software players. There are a lot of concerns about data leakage and compliance. Running locally gives more control and reduces the risk of accidental data exposure. You don't have to worry about a junior IT person at a cloud startup accidentally misconfiguring something and causing a data breach. The risks of a data breach are clear, but many companies seem concerned about any external use of their data for AI. Why is that? People have said that data is oil. If your data is oil, LLMs are like the internal-combustion engine, meaning they provide a much more interesting way to use that oil. Companies want to use their sensitive "crown jewel" data with LLMs to gain insights and improve predictive analytics. These use cases are central to their business, so they're protective of this data. They don't trust putting it on external systems where it could leak valuable information like customer insights or product preferences. When people think of "on-prem," they tend to focus on hardware. But much of what you are describing seems like software. Can you explain that in more detail? The hardware for AI work is often similar across setups. It's typically high-end <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nvidia-gpu-chips-ai-branding-popularity-2024-6">Nvidia GPUs</a>, though not always the latest or most expensive versions. On top of that hardware stack, the software needed to run an LLM isn't exotic if you know what you're doing. But there's a big asterisk here. The challenges often come from internal IT policies, organizational competencies, and the dynamic nature of AI workloads. For example, if your organization is familiar with Docker or Kubernetes, great. But if you're a Java shop used to deploying with Maven, or a Ruby shop unfamiliar with Python, that creates hurdles. When these companies want to start an internal LLM, that's where they can use help. AI workloads require varying amounts of computing power at different times. When you're training, you might need a lot of GPUs, fewer, or different kinds — or <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/tech/what-is-a-cpu">even just CPUs</a>. This dynamic set of hardware requirements, sometimes very bursty in terms of when and how long you need it, creates an orchestration challenge. That becomes a software challenge, and then an organizational one. Are you saying the challenge is optimizing software for efficient and dynamic use of hardware? I actually think it's more of a broad competency challenge for a company. In traditional software development, the IT group talks to the software-development group. The developers specify their needs for memory, bandwidth, storage, and IT provisions for them. But data scientists and machine-learning teams have dynamic needs. They require newer, more advanced hardware, and the software they run is Python with many dependencies, like specific GPU-driver versions. The challenges organizations face in on-premises AI relate to the dynamic nature of server and machine orchestration and the open-source-software ecosystem they're tapping into. This is especially true for compliance and security requirements. Speaking of open source, what are your thoughts on open versus closed LLMs? I've tried to stay out of the fray on social media, but my take is that current LLMs, especially the frontier models, have a lot of overlap in capabilities. Some are better than others in certain aspects, but at their core, once you throw enough data at them, these models start to become similar to each other. Making open models like Meta's Llama freely available is a game changer. The original Llama release was significant, and <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mark-zuckerberg-meta-llama-ai-model-praise-open-source-musk-2024-7">the latest Llama 3.1 model</a>, with 400 billion parameters, is a massive step forward. It will increase interest in running models on-premises, especially for fine-tuning on sensitive data. But while these models are often called open, they're not open in the traditional open-source sense. You can use them freely, but you can't rebuild them from scratch or modify them at will. The training data, scripts, and hyperparameters are often not disclosed. It's a complex issue that involves considerations of safety and licensing. The data used for training is a particularly big issue that no one really talks about. How should a company looking to implement on-premises AI get started? Anaconda has an <keyword id="23150764" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="AI-Navigator" source="keywords">AI Navigator</keyword> tool that is a great way to get started. It's a simple graphical interface where you can download appropriate models for your computer. We're currently running this in beta, and we're eager to get feedback from users. Our tool connects to our curated model repository. We've quantized models to make them smaller and more efficient for different machines, which is important because downloading models from public repositories can pose security risks. For example, we've seen attacks where someone uploads a fine-tuned code-generation model that hallucinates nonexistent Python packages. It generates code that tries to import or install these fake packages, and then the attacker creates malicious versions of these packages in the real world. When users try to run the generated code, they install these malicious packages. Our tool helps users get past many initial hurdles in setting up and running AI models locally. It accelerates the process of getting the software running correctly for a given machine, making it easier and safer for businesses to start exploring on-premises AI solutions. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Organizations are shifting to hybrid cloud and on-prem IT infrastructure for more control over data.</li><li>This trend is driven by data privacy, security concerns, and AI's growing influence.</li></ul>There's a change in the winds of IT infrastructure. After a decadeslong rush to the cloud, many organizations are exploring ways to exercise more control over their data and IT infrastructure.Rather than depending solely on third-party cloud services, they're looking to operate their IT data networks on-site. This strategy, often referred to as on-premises or on-prem, is gaining renewed interest thanks to factors such as data privacy and security concerns, regulations designed to hold organizations accountable for the data they collect, and the rise of artificial intelligence.The interest in on-prem doesn't represent a wholesale rejection of the cloud; many organizations are looking for more control from the cloud services they choose and seek to blend them with on-prem hardware."We're seeing more demand for on-prem," Hang Tan, the hybrid cloud chief operating officer of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, told Business Insider. "I don't think customers are thinking about it like it's a zero-sum game where either something goes to the public cloud or entirely on-prem. There's a recognition that customers need to have a more hybrid environment."<div type="image" title="Hang Tan wearing a suit jacket over a dress shirt in a portrait" height="2674" width="2526" msid="112500772" hostid="261" sizebytes="546952"></div><h2 id="729c5a6d-1380-4364-adfa-d63ff00eb555">A push for on-prem</h2>This trend is a response to concerns about the reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness of cloud services. But it's not a binary choice between hosting IT networks on the cloud and hosting them on-prem. Often the most important decision isn't about the physical location of an organization's infrastructure but about the level of security and control the organization is given over it."It's more about the governance of infrastructure, including data, networking, and servers," said Peter Wang, the cofounder and chief innovation officer of the software developer Anaconda. "Who manages it? Who gets to say, 'No, absolutely, you can't do that.'" His company, founded in 2012 to help organizations use <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/snowflake-announces-partnership-with-anaconda-python-data-science-2021-9">Python for business analytics</a>, found itself at the leading edge of this discussion as Python became a popular <a target="_blank" href="https://www.techzine.eu/blogs/devops/117952/popularity-of-python-continues-to-rise-against-backdrop-of-ai-race/">programming language for AI workloads</a>.<div type="image" title="Peter Wang wears a button-up dress shirt and smiles in a portrait shot" height="5111" width="5111" msid="112500766" hostid="261" sizebytes="379940"></div>Anaconda works with organizations that pursue a spectrum of solutions. Those seeking the most extreme security may operate "a box in a building somewhere, oftentimes guarded by people with machine guns, where you go in with a flash drive," Wang said. But that's applicable to only the most security-conscious industries and some public-sector customers.Rather than placing infrastructure under lock and key behind a barbed-wire fence, Wang said, many organizations prefer to see cloud services include more detailed data-governance controls and low-level access to system resources. This can give organizations a level of control over cloud infrastructure that's more like what they'd have if the hardware were on-prem.Dennis Duckworth, the head of product and end-user experience at Kindo, an AI-driven workforce-software developer, offered a similar perspective. Kindo provides a secure management platform for AI systems that lets organizations control which users have access to internal AI resources.Duckworth said that some Kindo customers used an air-gapped on-prem strategy but that most were using, or looking to use, a secure and controllable solution that could be deployed within a cloud service such as Amazon Web Services. "They're not hosting it themselves, but we can deploy within that infrastructure," he said.<div type="image" title="Dennis Duckworth smiles while wearing a dress shirt and jeans" height="1000" width="750" msid="112500768" hostid="261" sizebytes="50674"></div>Perspectives on the trend differ depending on an organization's size and industry. Chris Stegh, the chief technology officer at the IT consulting company eGroup Enabling Technologies, said some sectors, like education and healthcare, pursued on-prem solutions for cost reasons."The commonalities of those organizations are they've got brick and mortar," Stegh said. "They've got sunk costs in their data center because they own some real estate."<h2 id="1e22b520-3eb5-417e-9814-5cca0937b265">AI is igniting changes in IT strategy</h2>Tan said AI was "pouring rocket fuel" into the on-prem trend by driving a desire for greater control and better governance of data and IT infrastructure. While many organizations hope AI will improve efficiency, they've discovered it can require a rethink of how their infrastructure operates.The particulars of IT infrastructure are often guided by the relationship between the applications people want to use and the data those applications require to function, Tan told BI. "With AI, because the data is dominating the equation, you have to move the application to the data, not the other way around," he explained.Tan said that an HPE customer that runs a large retail business originally put infrastructure on-prem to allow operations to continue if internet connectivity was interrupted. Over time, the retailer expanded its capabilities with theft detection and inventory control powered by AI video analytics handled on hardware in stores.These edge servers were "becoming AI-enabled cloudlets," or small-scale data centers that use <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/tech/what-is-a-graphics-card">graphics processing units</a> to operate "a whole private cloud stack," Tan added.In other cases, a company may need to take multiple approaches. Tan used self-driving vehicles as an example: Autonomous vehicles make decisions on local hardware, but the data is also sent to a data center, where it may be used to train new AI models. Because of that, many organizations interested in AI need a hybrid cloud infrastructure that includes cloud and on-prem elements — and that can connect them when needed.<h2 id="d0eb7c75-c19f-416a-8f59-5dec5d0980a6">The role of regulation</h2>Regulatory concerns are further strengthening interest in on-prem and hybrid cloud strategies. The landscape of data protection and AI regulation is evolving rapidly as different nations and states or jurisdictions within nations implement varying rules and requirements. Duckworth said this would lead to a complex regulatory future."We're going to see a patchwork of different regulations across the globe," he said. "It might be that in Germany you can't use ChatGPT, but you can use Mistral," he said. He also referenced recent <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.tomshardware.com/software/switzerland-mandates-government-agencies-use-open-source-software">legislation in Switzerland</a> mandating that government agencies use open-source software.Even cities may implement specific regulations. In 2021, Portland, Oregon, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.opb.org/article/2020/09/09/portland-passes-nations-toughest-restriction-on-facial-recognition-technology/">passed restrictions on facial recognition</a> that applied to both public and private services. Other cities, such as San Francisco, have experimented with bans that apply to specific public services, such as police departments.Duckworth argued that organizations were struggling to keep up with existing regulations, never mind those that might be implemented in the future. As more regulations arrive and are enforced, organizations could find themselves scrambling to adapt. "It will, in my personal opinion, be a madhouse for three to five years," he added.<h2 id="2775415b-3109-40e7-8e21-e8ce8fef1ab8">Moving ahead with caution</h2>AI might be the catalyst for a broader reexamination of how organizations manage their IT infrastructure. Cloud services aren't going away but may be approached with more skepticism and a greater focus on the long-term implications of adopting a particular service. The winners will be those that can bridge cloud and on-prem to provide the level of control organizations are demanding."My view is that customers that made the cloud journey learned some lessons. They know, 'Oh, if I move my data to the cloud, I'm kind of stuck,'" Tan told BI. He said he expects that organizations burned by that experience will be more skeptical of going all in on the cloud moving forward, adding momentum to interest in on-prem and hybrid cloud alternatives.

A PTI report said that searches are being conducted on the company premises in Delhi and nearby locations, documents are being checked and people are being questioned as part of the action launched early this morning. E-mail and queries sent by PTI to the company remained unanswered. Mankind Pharma recently went public, to raise ₹4,326 crore. The initial public offer was a complete offer for sale and its promoters received the proceeds from the share sale. Added to that, its <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/condom-maker-mankind-pharma-lists-at-20-premium-beats-grey-market-expectations/articleshow/100090002.cms">stock listed at a 22% premium</a> on May 9, and the company’s marketcap stands at ₹56,108 crore as of Thursday. The pharma company also entered the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/corporates/news/mankind-pharma-debuts-in-top-100-as-per-market-value-after-a-stellar-listing/articleshow/100123765.cms">top 100 companies club </a>on its debut day. On Thursday, it ranks at 90 in terms of largest listed companies in India, leaving behind the likes of Punjab National Bank, Hero MotoCorp, UPL, Indian Hotels and Zomato. Analysts say that the stock may continue to do well going ahead, backed by strong fundamentals. “Given its healthy financial track record, domestic focus and extensive network, Mankind is likely to continue doing well,” Hemang Jani, Head of Equity Strategy, Motilal Oswal Financial Services. “Moreover the healthcare sector was a laggard over the last one year but started seeing traction over the last two months as the monthly pharma data showed improvement,” added Jani. Macquarie Research has initiated coverage on the company with an ‘Outperform’ rating and a target price of ₹1,400. The brokerage believes that Mankind Pharma is at a discounted valuation than its peers — Abbott India, GSK India and Pfizer India. “We believe the company’s net profit could double (&gt;2x) in the next three years, driven by: a) continued sales outperformance relative to Indian pharma market (IPM), b) mix shift towards chronic therapies, and c) unlocking of meaningful operating leverage as salesforce productivity improves,” said the brokerage firm. The company’s stock has been falling after the listing day amid volatile market conditions. Today, the stock is down nearly 2% at 1,356. Incorporated in 1991, Mankind Pharma is engaged in developing, manufacturing and marketing a diverse range of pharmaceutical formulations across various acute and chronic therapeutic areas, as well as several consumer healthcare products. Its product portfolio includes MANforce condoms, Prega News pregnancy detection kits and Gas-o-Fast sachets. Cloud adoption, including hybrid and multi-cloud models, has been expanding fast among all kinds of companies globally. The pandemic further strengthened the case for cloud adoption with a large majority of <a href="https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/state-of-cloud-native-security">organizations moving quickly to cloud</a> to respond to the crisis. Agility, elasticity and digital transformation imperatives are just some of the many reasons why businesses move to cloud. For many regulated industries and public sector companies, the story has been slightly different. Stringent compliance requirements, data sovereignty demands, latency concerns and a host of unique requirements has meant that these organizations take a measured approach to cloud – specifically to public cloud. “Regulated industries such as banking have moved an increasing number of periphery applications and workloads to the public cloud, but the core systems still remain on <keyword id="6482004" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="premises" source="Orion">premises</keyword>. And it’s going to remain so as they want complete control over their critical data due to reasons varying from data security to data sovereignty to latency,” says Srikanth Doranadula, Vice President, Hybrid Cloud Systems, Oracle India. While regulated industries have migrated several of their non-core systems of engagement (<keyword id="113749" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="soe" source="Orion">SOE</keyword>) to the public cloud, their systems of record (SORs) remain on-premise, in their own data centers, according to Doranadula. Nevertheless, Oracle sees a unique market opportunity here – to bring the experience of public cloud to these organisations’ on-premise data centers, and provide them with the benefits of a public cloud while placing it behind their firewall for better security and control. The company’s recent announcement around <keyword id="8111927" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="oracle-cloud-infrastructure" source="Orion">Oracle Cloud Infrastructure</keyword> (OCI) Dedicated Region underpins this strategy. With OCI Dedicated Region, claims the company, enterprise customers can gain the full functionality of Oracle’s public cloud in the locations of their choice, including their own data centers. “Imagine if a bank that relies largely on its on-premise data center were to launch a major blockchain initiative. It would require them to deploy and provision specialised hardware and software in their dedicated data centers, leading to a significant amount of investment, effort and resources,” Doranadula said. “Our aim is to provide a plug-and-play public cloud experience, on a pay-as-you-use model that allows customers to innovate faster, reduce time-to-market and stay agile while leveraging the power of cloud elasticity.” By 2024, 60 percent<a href="https://www.idc.com/research/viewtoc.jsp?containerId=US47241821"> of organisations</a> are predicted to implement dedicated cloud services either on premises or in a service provider facility in response to performance, security, and compliance requirements. Many organisations are therefore taking a <a href="https://resources.flexera.com/web/pdf/Flexera-State-of-the-Cloud-Report-2022.pdf?elqTrackId=f3bb660986704d2980404386aa003141&amp;elqaid=6925&amp;elqat=2">hybrid multi-cloud</a> approach. This is one trend that Oracle believes will impact organisations’ cloud consumption strategies in the coming days. Doranadula reiterated that the hybrid cloud model was here to stay and would be a larger part of the market. And this is not true of regulated industries alone. Several organisations in unregulated industries – telecom companies, conglomerates, systems integrators etc. – with unique computing needs are opting for hybrid models, he said. These shifting models are parallelly driving up the need for distributed cloud computing in the industry, especially with the advent of 5G and edge computing. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, for example, offers distributed cloud options with hybrid cloud services and multi-cloud capabilities across 38 public cloud regions worldwide. “We believe that distributed cloud is the next evolution of cloud computing, and it provides customers with much more flexibility and control in how they deploy cloud resources. The emerging hybrid and distributed cloud models such as ours removes cloud adoption barriers like data sovereignty, data residency, or latency for enterprises,” said Doranadula.

It's a reminder of how much times have changed. The new show's characters now have control over their narratives; they can communicate directly with more people than Gossip Girl could ever reach, all with the click of a button on a cellphone they carry with them all the time. Because of this, they don't need to filter the details of their lives through Gossip Girl's eagerly-awaiting fingertips, which raises the question - what is she still doing there?<h2>A socially-conscious 'Gossip Girl' isn't 'Gossip Girl'</h2><div type="image" title="Jordan Alexander and Zion Moreno in HBO Max's &quot;Gossip Girl&quot;" height="1280" width="1706" msid="84431156" hostid="261"></div>It's clear from the first 60 seconds of the new series that this time around, <a href="https://www.insider.com/gossip-girl-reboot-details-plot-information-2020-3">things will be different </a>- not because anyone necessarily wanted it to be, but because it has to be.There's no denying that the original had plenty of problematic moments and an overall lack of representation. While HBO Max's sequel fixes those issues, it does so at the expense of the very fabric of <keyword id="881869" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="the-CW">The CW</keyword>'s "Gossip Girl."In present-day, wealth, and the people who possess it, have become vilified far more than glamorized, which was the case of the original series. "Those are not things I believe need to be in this show for it to be fun. Or any show? GG2 is sex positive and our characters use their brains, not their brawn, to take you out!" Safran's mentions became filled with outraged fans in response. Their grievances centered around a key theme: At the end of the day, no one was watching "Gossip Girl" 1.0 to listen to brainy, earring-clad Brooklynites talk about marginalized communities or urban gentrification. In fact, characters like Vanessa Abrams, who embodied such liberal affinities were, in later seasons, <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/GossipGirl/comments/9atv32/eric_jenny_vanessa_absence/">effectively banished from the show</a>, having agitated the show's fan base <a href="https://people.com/tv/gossip-girl-author-loves-the-show-hates-vanessa/">(and even the original novels' author)</a> to a point that warranted their removal.The original show depicted a universe that was neither inviting or relatable, but rather, attractive for being just the opposite. The series masterfully captivated its audience with its uniquely manufactured notions of glamour, exclusivity, and, of course, an unrelenting deluge of convoluted scheming and romantic drama that served as the engine behind the show's six-season cable television run.<h2>In many ways, the changes made to appeal to Gen Z resulted in a show that's more of the anti-'Gossip Girl' than a sequel to it</h2><div type="image" title="Side-by-side images of the new Gossip Girl and the original series" height="1500" width="2000" msid="84431158" hostid="261"></div>The vast majority of fans of the original show will never accept the reboot as anything more than an artificial reconstruction overshadowed by <a href="https://www.insider.com/gossip-girl-hbo-max-details-nods-references-2021-7">nods and allusions</a> to its predecessor. And anyone who wasn't a fan of the original show likely won't be tuning in to begin with. So did we need a new "Gossip Girl" show? Probably not. But that doesn't mean we won't be watching, hoping for the sequel to find its footing apart from relying on a formula that clearly doesn't work anymore.(But also, can they just bring Georgina Sparks back already?)

"It already took unprecedented, historic organizing to overcome the historic voter suppression efforts in 2020 and we barely squeaked through on the majorities and the White House election that we had." AWS Outposts now in India, to boost data management on-premise

<keyword id="1334" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="China">China</keyword> is reportedly barring military and <keyword id="462295" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Government-personnel">government personnel</keyword> from using <keyword id="107096" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tesla">Tesla</keyword> vehicles, citing a potential data security risk posed by the Elon Musk-run <keyword id="2605004" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="electric-carmaker">electric carmaker</keyword>. According to a report in The Wall Street Journal citing sources, people who work for the "military, state-owned enterprises in sensitive industries, and other government agencies" will be asked not to drive a Tesla vehicle. "The Chinese government has informed some of its agencies to ask their employees to stop driving <keyword id="4241163" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tesla-cars">Tesla cars</keyword> to work," the report mentioned. Tesla cars have also been reportedly banned from driving into housing compounds for families of personnel working in sensitive industries and state agencies. "They were told by their agencies that among the government's concerns is that Tesla vehicles can be constantly in record mode, using cameras and other sensors to log various details, including short videos". The Chinese government is concerned that those images can be sent back to the US. The Chinese regulators are also taking a closer look at Tesla operations in the country after recent videos on social media showed a Model 3 battery fire and malfunctioning vehicles. Tesla said in a statement that its "privacy protection policy complies with Chinese laws and regulations". "Tesla attaches great importance to the protection of users' privacy," the electric carmaker added. The restriction on Tesla comes as Chinese President Xi Jinping "increasingly moves China away from foreign technology as Beijing's technological battle with the US intensifies". The move comes at a time when the US has labeled smartphone maker Huawei a national security threat, restricting its business activities with the <keyword id="66762" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="US-companies">US companies</keyword>. Tesla which has its Gigafactory in Shangai is set to enter India this year to tap into the million-dollar opportunity as the country warms up to EVs. China is the largest market for electric vehicles in the world, and Tesla is the top seller of such vehicles. The company also plans to build a supercharger manufacturing factory in <keyword id="6368000" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="shanghai">Shanghai</keyword>, which is expected to be operational soon. On January 7, the US electric carmaker launched a project to manufacture Model Y vehicles in the Shanghai Gigafactory, its first overseas plant outside the US. Tesla has opened its <keyword id="10962208" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="largest-supercharger-station">largest supercharger station</keyword> worldwide, with 72 charging piles set up in the Jing'an District of Shanghai. China reportedly bans military and government personnel from using Tesla electric cars in government premises

New Delhi, Jun 16 () Beleaguered tours and travel services firm Cox &amp; Kings on Tuesday said its official premises were not raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The company was replying in a clarification sought by the BSE, on the media reports about the raids on premises of the company in the Yes Bank case on June 8. "We can confirm that the official premises of the Cox &amp; Kings Ltd were not raided by the ED. Therefore there is no written communication received from the ED to the company," Resolution Professional of Cox &amp; Kings Ashutosh Agarwala said in a letter to the BSE. As per the available information, few raids were carried out by the ED at the residential premises of the suspended directors of the company and erstwhile key managerial personnel (KMP) who all have resigned from the company, it added. These raids were carried out by the ED in the matter of loan availed by the company from Yes Bank under the tenure of the board of directors which are now suspended due to commencement of corporate insolvency resolution process, the reply said. Cox &amp; Kings Ltd is undergoing corporate insolvency resolution process vide NCLT order dated October 22, 2019. Agarwala was appointed as resolution professional of the company vide NCLT order dated January 10, 2020. The ED had searched the premises of the company promoter Ajay Ajit Peter (Peter Kerkar), Directors Pesi Patel and Abhishek Goenka, former chief financial officer Anil Khandelwal and internal auditor Naresh Jain in Mumbai on June 8. The action was carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and was in connection with the Yes Bank money laundering case being investigated by the central agency where it has also arrested the bank's co-founder Rana Kapoor.
