It’s not the first time that there has been a huge recent outcry over brand ambassadors and the ‘increased reasonability’ they should take up. The latest has been about the overt lead and MSG content found in Nestlé’s Maggi noodles and the stars involved in its advertisements.<br />
<br />
Bollywood biggies Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preiti Zinta have cases filed against them under Indian Penal Code Sections 270 (act likely to spread dangerous disease), 273 (sale of toxic food or drinks), 276 (sale of drug as a different mixture) and 420 (cheating).<br />

Maggi noodles has been hauled for higher Lead and MSG content. Lead concentration above the prescribed limit of 2.5 ppm may lead to anemia, abdominal ache and heart palpitation. Long term effects include permanent damage to organs.<br />

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 16 (ANI): Actor <keyword id="20608216" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="abhimanyu-singh" source="keywords">Abhimanyu Singh</keyword> has joined the cast of Sunny Deol-starrer 'Lahore 1947'.<br /><br />As per a statement, actor Abhimanyu Singh will play the villain in the film, which is being directed by <keyword id="20185967" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajkumar-santoshi" source="keywords">Rajkumar Santoshi</keyword>.<br /><br />On having Abhimanyu on board, Santoshi said, "Usually, whenever we think of a villain's character, the first few names that come to our mind are Amrish ji and Danny ji but we have to look forward and see who's taking the baton ahead. Interestingly, we have roped in Abhimanyu Singh who will be seen playing a strong and lead role as antagonist in Lahore 1947. His intensity, his voice, and his conviction are truly unbeatable. Interestingly, this film will also mark Aamir Khan Productions' (AKP) 17th production under their banner.<br /><br />The film also stars <keyword id="19995399" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="preity-zinta" source="keywords">Preity Zinta</keyword> and Shabana Azmi.<br /><br />Recently, Santoshi expressed his excitement about having Preity in the film.<br /><br />"After a long time, Preity Zinta is again playing a very important role for the silver screen with Lahore 1947. She is indeed an extremely talented, finest, and most natural actress in our industry. Whichever character she plays she totally invests herself in it and makes the audience feel that she is made for that character. Interestingly, the audience will see her again with Sunny Deol. Sunny Deol to lock horns with Abhimanyu Singh in 'Lahore 1947'

<ul><li><keyword id="8146" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ness-wadia">Ness Wadia</keyword> – the heir to one of India’s oldest conglomerates – was reportedly arrested in <keyword id="6355311" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="japan">Japan</keyword> in March for possession of drugs. </li><li>The reports say Wadia argued that the drug was for his personal use. </li><li>Shares of the <keyword id="55359" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Wadia-Group">Wadia Group</keyword> have fallen by 17%, post his arrest. </li></ul>The heir to one of India's legacy businesses – Ness Wadia – has been arrested in Japan for alleged possession of drugs. Wadia, who is the heir to the 283-year old Wadia group has been arrested while on a skiing holidaying in Japan. He has been sentenced to jail for two years, according to <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/04135fce-6803-11e9-9adc-98bf1d35a056">Financial Times</a>.<br /><br />In early March, Wadia was arrested in the New Chitose Airport for the possession of cannabis.<br /><br />Wadia has also confessed to the possession of drugs for personal use, according to <a href="https://www.cnbctv18.com/economy/ness-wadia-wadia-group-heir-sentenced-to-2-year-jail-term-in-japan-for-drugs-possession-says-report-3131451.htm">reports</a>. <br /><br />The arrest of the business scion comes in the wake of Japan gearing up for Olympics 2020, where the country has become more stringent with its narcotics laws. <br /><br />Post Wadia’s arrest, the shares of the Wadia group have fallen by 17%, according to <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/markets/stocks/news/wadia-group-shares-plunge-up-to-17-on-ness-wadias-sentencing-in-japan/articleshow/69109255.cms">reports.</a> The Wadia group has reportedly said that Wadia is back in India. <br /><br />Wadia is a director in majority of the companies of the group – which is the owner of Britannia industries and also runs the airline GoAir. He is also the co-owner of the IPL team <keyword id="13883" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kings-XI-Punjab">Kings XI Punjab</keyword> along with his ex-girlfriend and actor Preity Zinta. <br />

If you’re a 90s kid, that lyrical tune, a gush of waterfall and bikini clad girl would surely evoke nostalgia and your heart feels with a joy whenever you remember the TV commercial. At a time when getting bold wasn’t encouraged by the audience, curving out aesthetics out of bikini has surely given Liril a high five in its marketing ambit.<br />

And guess what the news is? The Liril girl is back, thanks to Hindustan Unilever’s strategy to relaunch its soap brand Liril.<br />

"These are the roots of Liril. They don't change. And what we're doing is paying homage to the Liril that we all know, bringing alive the very same elements that have been part of our popular culture through time," George Koshy, general manager for personal wash category at HUL told The Economic Times.<br />
<br />
The marble green soap brand made waves 40 years ago when model and Air India air-hostess Karen Lunel wore a swimsuit and danced under a cascade to the catchy jingle, reads the ET news report.<br />
<br />
"It is an iconic ad in Indian memory and even newer people are interested in history if there is a back story as interesting as that of Liril. In a low-involvement category like soaps, Liril will stand out and surely gain share now," Alpana Parida, president at brand consultancy firm DY Works has told the ET.<br />
<br />
After 1985, the brand was defined by models Pooja Batra, Preity Zinta and Deepika Padukone - each seen playing in the water and swimming under the waterfall. But they were merely shadows of the original ad.<br />
<br />
Also, it wasn't the same after the 90s, when the lemon product was diluted with variants such as orange and icy blue, followed by a name change to Liril 2000 a decade ago.<br />
<br />
"I feel vindicated because there are some appeals that are timeless. Freshness in a tropical country has an eternal appeal which is now being revived," Padamsee told the financial daily, adding that Liril promised a few minutes of freedom from the daily grind of the Indian housewife.<br />
<br />
The new campaign, featuring Brazilian model Anabelle and created by Lowe, was launched on social media last week.<br />
<br />
"'Must have taken a lot of guts to go back', was one particular response and that sums up our approach - stick to the core," said Koshy.<br />
<br />
While the image of the lime and lemony zest soap brand and its ad may not have faded away, its market share did - falling from a high of over 14 per cent three decades ago to less than 2 per cent now - in the Rs 16,000-crore soap category.<br />
