The company’s shares were listed at a price of ₹1,934 on the National Stock Exchange, a discount of 1.3% to the issue price. The shares debuted at a discount of 1.48% at ₹1,931 on the BSE. The company's market valuation stood at ₹1,57,807.67 crore during the early trade. The shares of Hyundai were trading at ₹1,870 on NSE at 10:30, a further decline of 4.5%. <div type="twitter" handle="NSEIndia" handlename="NSEIndia" favoritecount="0" retweetcount="0" id="1848588558791233952"></div> Hyundai raised ₹27,870 crore from the IPO and while non-institutional investors (NII) and retail investors were cautious of the IPO, qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) bet big on the company. Hyundai had set a price band of ₹1865 to ₹1,960 per share for its IPO. The company’s shares were subscribed 2.37 times. The <keyword id="20457114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-ipo" source="Orion">Hyundai IPO</keyword> was entirely an offer for sale (OFS), with the company not receiving anything from it. The entire funds raised will go to Hyundai Global, the South Korean parent company. "Considering the tepid interest from IPO investors, the Hyundai India the largest IPO listing was well below the issue price (Rs 1960) in line with our pre IPO expectations. NII's &amp; retail stayed back with reasons like valuation concern, followed by 100% offer-for-sale (OFS) component without any fresh issue leaving nothing on table for new investors to gain and industry concern on high inventory across the sector and slowing demand in the last ~3-4 months and short term auto trend still looks dull and weak," said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities. "Despite the discounted listing, Hyundai Motor India's strong fundamentals, being the second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer in India and its strategic focus on the SUV segment, continue to support its long-term growth prospects,” said Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth, Swastika Investmart. "Investors who entered with a long-term perspective may consider holding the stock, as future performance will likely be driven by the company's competitive market position and product innovations,” Nyati added. <h2>Hyundai continues the trend of big IPOs listing at a discount</h2>Hyundai has continued the trend of big IPOs failing to make a good debut in the primary market. The automaker has become the sixth company, out of seven companies to list at a discount when looking to raise more than ₹10,000 crore. <h2>Hyundai in India</h2>Hyundai, which entered the Indian market in 1996 is one of the top automakers in India, moving between the second and third spots. The company emerged as the second biggest automaker in September 2024. The Indian market contributes to around 15% of the company’s global sales and is the third biggest market for the company after the United States and South Korea. The company has already invested around $5 billion in the country and plans to invest an additional $4 billion over the next few years. He explained that while “it’s not all about India,” India is still a big focus when it comes to Stack Overflow’s geo expansion plans. India’s smaller cities have more users “There seems to be a lot more higher growth in cities where we never expected to be,” said Chandrasekar explaining how Tier-II and Tier-III cities like Ludhiana and Lucknow show more growth than metro cities or even the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore. Stack Overflow is currently tracking how people are becoming more distributed since the pandemic, and moving away from cities. Khalid El Khatib, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Stack Overflow and team are trying to determine if there is a larger 'de-urbanisation' trend in the works. “We’re pulling a lot of insight into what’s really the root cause of that,” said Chandrasekar. “It’s not early to say one way or another, but we’re certainly seeing an increase in these smaller towns.” In comparison to other markets, like the US, India has a lot more focus on back-end applications and application frameworks rather than front-end applications. “This has to do with many things like India being a huge powerhouse for software development for companies in the west,” said Chandrasekar. Time permitting, <keyword id="48560" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Communities">communities</keyword> may or may not become a third tangent. But, according to Stack Overflow CEO Prashanth Chandrasekar, communities are at the heart of software development. It’s no longer a third vantage point that only comes in when everything else is already set instead, it should be the first step. Bengaluru-born Chandrasekar started the company as a community first, and then established itself as a brand as a result of building a successful community. It’s only now that the company has started out on its products journey with software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings like Teams. “Communities will be absolutely essential for companies to really accelerate their development in the new digital world,” Chandrasekar said at the Business Insider Global Trends Festival 2020. According to him, many incumbents in the industry are now racing to catch up as startups come up with their solutions. And, at the centre of the movement are developers and technologists building solutions fueled by working from home. “Companies are being forced to really rethink how they compete and this entire — what was historically probably postponed as something they would address down the line— has been accelerated very dramatically,” he explained. Stack Overflow is a community of websites where developers can connect, share stories and learn from each other to build the ‘next big thing.’ It currently has over 100 million monthly visitors across its network of 150 websites. According to Chandrasekar, around 60% of developers worldwide sample Stack Overflow — that’s around 26 million to 27 million developers. And, this strategy has worked just fine for the 12-year old startup created by Jeff Atwood and Joel Spolsky. The company started a community (a messaging forum, really), then built itself into a brand and now has a product to offer — Teams. In 2010, it raised its first round of funds amounting to $6 million from a group of investors led by Union Square Ventures. Seven years later, it released an official app on Android and iOS. Next-generation of solutions fueled by the remote work environment As more people worked from home during the coronavirus pandemic, Stack Overflow saw an uptake in the amount of activity for Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services. According to Chandrasekar, this is fueled by the popularity of visual models which are enabled by a cloud force — and almost the nearly $1 trillion of spend that’s moving towards the public cloud. Movements like DevOps — practices that combine software development and IT operations to shorten a system’s development life cycle — have also seen a marked increase. “All of this is fueled by the remote world environment,” remarked Chandrasekar. The knowledge and collaboration platform’s free tier will allow up to 50 people to sign on. Moreover, the company <a href="https://stackoverflow.blog/2021/03/17/stack-overflow-for-teams-is-now-free-forever-for-up-to-50-users/">promises</a> that it will remain free forever. Users don’t need to offer credit or debit card details in order to sign up for the free plan. Unlike the Stack Overflow question and answer website, Stack Overflow for Teams is a knowledge management software. Using the public platform is free, but Teams was thus far a paid product. Aside from the limitation on users, the free version of Stack Overflow for Teams has most of the features that are offered in the paid tiers as well. This includes integration with team collaboration apps like Slack and Microsoft Teams. Community, brand and product approach According to Chandrasekar, companies usually think about their product first and then their brand. Communities are the last run on the ladder, which most tend to ignore.
