UK's Asian Rich list: Hinduja family retain top spot, UK PM Sunak, his wife make debut

While not everyone believes in it, 360 ONE Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2023 report gives a detailed list of the star signs of India’s most successful billionaires. As of 2023, those with the <keyword id="123559" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="pisces" source="Orion">Pisces</keyword> sign had a great year, followed by Taurus and Libra. Things were not that smooth for the Cancerians who saw 26% of their wealth eroded. While there was a cumulative wealth increase of almost 35% for the Pisces, Taurus saw an uptick of 26.6%. Librans were just behind with 25.2% growth in wealth. Virgos, Aquarians, Capricorns, Leos and Gemini’s saw a double digit growth in wealth in the last one year. The top contributors to the list A closer look at the star signs of India’s richest shows that, overall, Virgos and Scorpios led the way in total contribution, with the highest number of entries followed by Pisces. Virgo, the star sign was led by the likes of Shapoor Pallonji Mistry, Anil Agarwal, Gopikishan Damani and contributed 9.6% to the Hurun Rich list. Shapoor Pallonji Mistry has total wealth of ₹70,800 crore and is fifth on the list of Richest Non-Resident Indians. Anil Agarwal of Vedanta Group has ₹66,900 cr with his family after seeing a 14% uptick. While Cancerians cumulatively saw an erosion, the likes of Gautam Adani, who has come second overall despite a tough year, contributed 8.5% to the rich list. New Delhi, May 13 () With more than 100 of its personnel testing positive for COVID-19 so far, the Delhi Police on Wednesday said some hospitals have reserved beds for it for any emergency admissions as many in the force are deployed at "sensitive" locations. Among those infected, 35 police personnel have recovered from the infection and resumed their duties, officials said. According to the police, with a rise in coronavirus cases in Delhi, difficulties are being faced in getting 'COVID-19 warriors' in the dedicated government hospitals in the city. Delhi Police Commissioner S.N. Shrivastava spoke to a few private hospitals and, on his request, they have placed some beds at the disposal of the Delhi Police for emergency admissions since many police personnel are performing duties at sensitive locations including containment zones, COVID hospitals and quarantine facilities, the officials said. A team led by Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Taj Hassan and Special Commissioner of Police (Women Safety) Nuzhat Hassan is overseeing the admission of police personnel in such new facilities and ensuring that police personnel get adequate relief in critical cases. The police said that six of their modified police vehicles which serve as ambulances will be used for shifting COVID positive police personnel and their families. The policemen who tested positive for COVID-19 are currently undergoing treatment at government hospitals such as Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narain Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Dilshad Garden, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, AIIMS (New Delhi), AIIMS (Jhajjar) and Safdarjung Hospital. The policemen are also admitted at private hospitals like Max Hospital, Saket, Apollo Hospital, Maa Durga Charitable Trust Hospital, Model Town, Ayurvedic Tibbia College Karol Bagh, Chaudhary Braham Prakash Ayurvedic Hospital in Najafgarh), PGI in Sonipat and ESIC in Sahibabad, the police said. Will Home Minister’s insurance scheme be a healing touch to the aggrieved farmers? 
 
In the wake of the farmer crisis in the country, the home minister Rajnath Singh is fast-tracking the introduction of the proposed National Crop Income Insurance Scheme, which guarantees income to the farmer during fluctuating prices (he will have to bear loss of 20%). During yield losses due to natural calamities, including drought or unseasonal rain 70-50% of loss would be paid by the government. It also brings all national insurance programmes under its purview and the government wishes to roll it out soon given the present crisis. 
 
Singh had held a meeting on Wednesday with the Minister of State for Agriculture, Sanjiv Balyan, and bureaucrats of the ministry to finalise contours of the proposed insurance scheme for farmers. 
 
An Assocham-SkymWeather study released earlier this month revealed only 19% of farmers have opted for crop insurance while among the rest, 24% said the facility was not available and 11% said they can't afford the premium. There have been five national schemes since 1985, and all have failed with farmers left with no safety net when crops fail. 
 A serious case like farmer suicide, right in the middle of an ongoing political rally motioned at opposing the land acquisition bill has certainly put a big question mark on Modi’s signature land bill. While opposing parties have already started protesting the Land Bill and demanding justice for Gajendra Singh, the whole furore looks like an acid test of the <keyword id="6360789" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Modi-Government">Modi government</keyword> on the issue of agricultural lands and people dependent on it. In a chain reaction of yesterday’s tragedy, the Congress workers are staging protests in front of Delhi CM’s residence and Delhi Police Commissioner’s residence demanding immediate scrapping of the proposed land bill.
