<ul><li>Despite having zero Covid-19 cases, people here continue to take precautions like wearing masks.</li><li><keyword id="1802935" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Havelock-Island">Havelock Island</keyword> not only offers some stunning beaches, but it also has some of the top diving destinations in the country.</li><li>If you are hankering for some serious digital detox there is no better place than Havelock - there is limited to zero connectivity on the island.</li></ul> Earlier this month, Dr. Niveditha Vasireddy, a psychiatrist from Visakhapatnam, travelled to the <keyword id="54020" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Andaman-and-Nicobar-Islands">Andaman and Nicobar Islands</keyword>. The archipelago, of around 300 islands in the Indian Ocean, is a Union Territory of India, which if you look at the map seems closer to Thailand and Myanmar than to India. She tells Business Insider, not able to control her excitement, how she has never imagined experiencing such clean and untouched white sandy beaches in India. "I mean, you can expect such an experience in countries like the Philippines, but in India... my mind was blown,” she says. <div type="image" title="Elephant beach, Havelock" msid="81127084" hostid="261"></div> The picturesque white sandy beaches of the <keyword id="162996" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Andaman-Islands">Andaman Islands</keyword> are not considered by most as an option for a beach vacation. And perhaps it is for the best, because as is the case with most popular tourist destinations, the more touristy they become, the more we expose the location to environmental risks. But if responsible tourism is your jam, and you do not mind paying a little more money for a truly magical experience, then the Andaman Islands is the place to visit. Dr. Vasireddy, along with a few friends, decided to ditch the idea of vacationing in Goa and chose a place where they can get away from it all — plus, there was the added advantage of the location being COVID-free. In fact, it was the first place in India with zero<a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/andaman-and-nicobar-islands-indias-first-to-be-covid-free/articleshow/80657352.cms"> active cases</a> as of 03 February 2021. Regardless of the fact, she was pleasantly surprised that people on the Island continue to take safety very seriously and said all the locals were wearing face masks. In case you forget to wear yours, they will politely inform you that if you don't, you will get 'challand’ (a challan). Please note that it is mandatory to present an RTPCR Covid negative test at <keyword id="107932" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="PORT-BLAIR">Port Blair</keyword>. The authorities validate the test against the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) website. Only once the validity is confirmed do the officials stamp the document, and without this stamped paper, you will not be allowed to take the ferry to any of the Islands. Flights from all major cities of the country, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi, land at the capital Port Blair. <div type="image" title="Havelock Island" msid="81128095" hostid="261"></div> HAVELOCK ISLAND The island not only offers some stunning beaches, but it also has some of the top diving destinations in the country. It is an excellent place to learn deep-sea diving so that you can explore the underwater marvels. Havelock Island is one of the few places where inexperienced divers can try out a single dive instead of signing up for a full course. The water is teeming with tropical fish, sea turtles, stingrays and much more. It also has a healthy population of colourful live corals. The best part is that you don't need to be a swimmer to try scuba diving. The crystal blue waters are so clear that you can always opt for snorkelling if you want to skip scuba diving. There is also an excellent night kayaking expedition that takes you through the mangroves. The unreal experience of watching the water bioluminescence below and the sky filled stars above cannot be paralleled. <div type="image" title="scuba diving, Havelock" msid="81126940" hostid="261"></div> There is so much to see in Havelock that it is best to hire a bike or cycle. But we must warn you that while happily cruising on well-made tar roads you may land up literally nowhere. "Some (roads) took us to beaches and others just abruptly ended by fields or the forest," Dr. Vasireddy tells us. <div type="image" title="Roads leading to nowhere, Havelock" msid="81127015" hostid="261"></div> Beaches <keyword id="1578932" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Radhanagar-beach">Radhanagar Beach</keyword> (Beach No.7), Elephant Beach, and Vijaynagar Beach (Beach No.5) are some of the most well-known beaches in Havelock. Radhanagar beach is flanked by the ocean on one side and lush rainforest on the other. This west-facing beach is ideal for catching the sunset. You can also walk down to Neil's Cove, a secluded spot perfect for sunbathing and a spot for swimming in shallow water. <div type="image" title="Sunset at Havelock" msid="81127095" hostid="261"></div> Elephant beach may not be easy to get to, but the beauty of the place more than makes up for the effort. The beach features some bleached driftwood and logs that provide an excellent backdrop for a photo-op. This is also an ideal place to go snorkelling. Vijaynagar beach is where the buzz is. This is where most of the restaurants, hotels and snorkelling centres are situated. The beach faces east and is, therefore, a great place to catch the sunrise. However, because the water is shallow and strewn with rocks, swimming here is not the easiest. <div type="image" title="Red snapper grilled in lemon pepper sauce with rice and roasted potatoes" msid="81127169" hostid="261"></div> Food The local food, if idyllic surroundings are not enough, is usually a combination of Indian and continental cuisine that is absolutely delicious. Dr. Vasireddy recommends - Fat Martin's Cafe in Vijaynagar that serves south Indian food including a delicious Nutella dosa; Anju Coco that strangely enough serves the "best biriyani”; Something Different serves excellent continental seafood pizza and amazing desserts; Moonlight Cafe is great for seafood. The restaurants here are a seafood lovers paradise, serving up a fantastic variety of fresh red snappers, calamari, prawns, and so much more. That being said, there are plenty of vegetarian options too. Accommodation There are plenty of hotels to choose from high-end Taj Hotels to more affordable options like Wild Orchid, SilverSand Beach Resort, Munjoh Ocean Resort and Symphony Palms Beach Resort. The hotels are clean, and most are environmentally conscious. Most hotels and restaurants on the Island provide only RO water and not plastic bottles, as is sadly the norm elsewhere. And if you choose to buy water, the local stores have nothing smaller than 2-litre bottles to reduce the amount of plastic used. <div type="image" title="Bambooka, the government ferry" msid="81127801" hostid="261"></div> How to get there From Port Blair, the best way to get to Havelock is by ferry. The government ferry from Port Blair to Havelock takes around 2.5 hours but please note that the outside deck area has no seating, so you will have to bring something to place on the floor to sit on. The booking process is slightly cumbersome, but you can get a travel agent to take care of everything, which will still be cheaper than private options. MV Makruzz and Coastal Cruise are the private companies that ferry people across to the Island. They take around 1.5 hours to get to Havelock. Connectivity If you are hankering for some serious digital detox there is no better place than Havelock. There is limited to no connectivity on the island. BSNL is the only cellular service that works but the network is patchy. Hotels usually provide wi-fi access, but most are limited to the lobby area. <div type="image" title="Port Blair" msid="81127917" hostid="261"></div> PORT BLAIR While Andaman and Nicobar Islands' capital may not seem all that appealing as a tourism destination, there are plenty of places you can visit while here. There is a high probability of you spending the night there since the ferries to the islands do not operate at night. So depending on your flight timing, chances are, one way or the other you will have to stay in Port Blair. If you opt to stay in Port Blair, <keyword id="10800405" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chidiya-Tapu">Chidiya Tapu</keyword> (Bird Island) is an excellent place to explore. The area offers some fabulous diving spots, including Mundapahad, ideal for beginners and the old shipwreck, a site for advanced divers and home to clownfish, schooling snapper, resting ray and lots of colourful corals. If you want to give the water a break, the place is an excellent spot for birdwatching. The mangroves and rainforests here play host to a bunch of migratory birds and flowers. You can also hike to Mundapahad lighthouse. ReefWatch Marine Conservation, in collaboration with Lacadives, offers an informative mangrove walk (when the tide is out) and informs you about the surrounding ecosystem. <div type="image" title="The view from Mt. Harriet" msid="81127981" hostid="261"></div> Dr. Vasireddy decided to stay at the relatively new Big Tree Resort featuring only eight cabins, an in-house restaurant and a supremely friendly dog called Momo. Momo insists all guests should play with him and will bring you a coconut husk that you need to pry out of his mouth and throw so that he can fetch it, thus providing an excellent way to drive away the blues. <div type="image" title="Cellular Jail" msid="81128022" hostid="261"></div> Another site that may be worth a visit, especially if you are a history buff, is the colonial prison called Cellular Jail (Kālā Pānī) that is where most freedom fighters, including Veer Savarkar, were shipped off to before independence. There is an informative light show in the evening and the tour of the jail itself is quite fascinating. <div type="image" title="Limestone Caves" msid="81128047" hostid="261"></div> BARATANG MANGROVE FOREST AND LIMESTONE CAVES To experience the fascinating limestone caves and mangrove forests in <keyword id="5041058" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Baratang-Island">Baratang Island</keyword>, you will have to head to the Jirkatang check post (a little over an hour-long-drive from Port Plair), which marks the beginning of the area where the Jarawa tribes of Andaman Islands live. After the clearance is done, you can drive through Jarawa reserve forest, but note that taking photos is strictly not prohibited. Once you reach the other end, you have to take a ferry to cross the water and arrive at Baratang. Here you can take a permit and board a speedboat to ride through the mangroves and arrive at a trekking spot from where you have to walk for 1.2 km through villages to reach the spectacular limestone caves. The journey may sound daunting, but this is one of the unforgettable experiences you wouldn't want to miss. However, respecting the people's privacy and regulations, particularly of the tribals, is of paramount importance.

Exploring the unreal beauty of the Andaman Islands

<ul><li>IndiGo and GoAir’s flights to Port Blair with their Airbus A320neo have been banned. </li><li>Both airlines use Pratt &amp; Whitney engines, which have caused many mid-air scares. </li><li>However, the government has allowed the airlines to operate all other flights. </li></ul>After multiple <a href="https://scroll.in/latest/909908/indigo-goair-barred-from-flying-airbus-a320neo-aircraft-to-port-blair">mid-air scares</a> and incidents of <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/news-ians/pw-initiates-steps-to-fix-smoke-trouble-with-engines-after-indigo-incident-118121901355_1.html">smoke</a> inside flights, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the regulatory body under the civil aviation ministry has now banned IndiGo and GoAir from flying their Airbus A320neo aircraft to Port Blair. The ban extends to flying the Airbus A320neo aircraft to any other overseas route, where an alternate landing option is more than an hour away, should one of the engines develop a snag. “This restriction has been imposed for safety reason as there must be an airport within one hour of flying time during entire journey of A320neo with PW engines so that the plane can safely land at the nearest alternate on a single engine when one engine develops a snag,” a senior regulatory official told <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/dgca-bars-indigo-goair-from-flying-planes-with-pw-engines-to-port-blair-or-long-overseas-routes/articleshow/67576407.cms">The Times of India</a>. For some time now, there have been complaints about the Pratt &amp; Whitney engines in the aircraft. Despite the risks, flights continue to operate on all other routes within India without any restrictions. “We have proactively complied with the <keyword id="6354787" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="DGCA">DGCA</keyword> circular,” IndiGo said in response to queries from Business Insider. Currently, IndiGo operates over 40 A320neo aircraft, while GoAir has 30 of the said aircraft. “If it is risky flying an aircraft with engines having a high rate of in-flight shutdowns, then it’s much better you don’t fly it, as a precaution to avert a catastrophe. Unfortunately, airlines will have a hard time keeping things going from a network perspective, and (it) would mean a significant revenue hit, for sure,” Mark Martin, CEO of aviation consultancy firm Martin Consulting told Quartz in March 2018. Jayant Sinha, the junior minister for civil aviation, met with DGCA authorities on January 8 to take stock of the risks with Pratt and Whitney engines, following a glitch on an IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Chennai. The DGCA reportedly decided to review the performance of Airbus A320 aircraft fitted with the P&amp;W 1100 series engines. In November 2018, an IndiGo Hyderabad-Port Blair flight had <a href="https://www.timesnownews.com/india/article/another-scare-for-passengers-indigo-plane-engine-fails-mid-air-aircraft-tilts-heavily-towards-one-side/318839">reportedly</a> suffered engine failure right after take off and had to go for an emergency landing. However, the aviation company declined to have had any such incident and called it “false news”. India is allowing flights with faulty engines to fly anywhere – except one city

In what came as a surprise on Tuesday, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=SPICEJET&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">SpiceJet</a> introduced local fares as low as Rs 511 for domestic sectors and Rs 2,111 for international sectors. 
 The three day sale launched today will be open till midnight, 19 May for domestic travel period 15 June 2016 to 30 September 2016 and international travel period 1 June 2016 to 20 July 2016. The sale is valid only for direct <keyword id="6367662" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="flights">flights</keyword> within <keyword id="6358032" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SpiceJet">SpiceJet</keyword>'s network.

This comes at the time when the airline has cancelled several flights in the past month. As many as 19 aircraft were reportedly held last month due to non-payment issues. The two airlines have scrapped their ‘Flight Interruption Manifest (FIM) Agreement’ with Jet Airways. The agreement states that when an airline cancels flights under urgent circumstances, other airlines would accommodate passengers while the former reimburses the accommodating airline. The circular issued by Air India on Friday confirmed that the airlines will not accept passengers from Jet until further notice, while <a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/air-india-won-t-accommodate-fliers-from-jet-s-cancelled/story-M5wljallUSfWvtdq9Qel8I.html">Vistara backed off</a> saying that the cancellations were too frequent, causing commercial loss. The agreement was an emergency arrangement for passengers, but Jet Airways is using it often, <a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/air-india-won-t-accommodate-fliers-from-jet-s-cancelled/story-M5wljallUSfWvtdq9Qel8I.html">said</a> an aviation industry official. Air India, Vistara scrap agreement to accommodate flyers with cancelled Jet Airways tickets

Mumbai, Apr 1 () As many as 74 flights have been operated, carrying a total medical cargo of 37.63 tonnes, till March 31 to various parts of the country under the civil aviation ministry's Lifeline Udan flights initiative, an official release said on Wednesday.These flights had commenced operations from March 27.Of the 74 services, 12 flights were operated on March 31 alone, carrying a total medical cargo of 22 tonnes, the ministry said.Air India operated a total of nine flights while two services were flown by its regional subsidiary Alliance Air and one by the Indian Air Force, the release said.Air India flights on Mumbai-New Delhi -Guwahati-Mumbai route carried consignments of Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Pune while its services on New Delhi-Hyderabad-Trivandrum-Goa-Delhi route carried consignments of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, ICMR and Goa.The national carrier also operated services to Port Blair from Chennai and back, it said.Alliance Air carried medical cargo consignment of the Textiles Ministry through its services on Hyderabad-Bengaluru-Hyderabad route, the ministry said in the release adding the IAF operated a medical cargo service to Port Blair via Sulur from its Hindon airbase.Air India and IAF collaborated for Ladakh, Dimapur, Imphal, Guwahati and Port Blair flights, it added. 	It's party-time on spaceship Nursultan.
 <keyword id="6380984" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Kazakhstan">KAZAKHSTAN</keyword>'S capital, Astana, celebrated its 15th anniversary on July 6th with a petrodollar-fuelled party. It happened also to be the 73rd birthday of the country's strongman president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, who commissioned this epitome of surreal bombast rising from the Central Asian steppe.
 During the festivities, crowds gathered around Astana's architectural landmarks as the president's graven image gazed benevolently down from a bas-relief on a high white column meant to represent the country emerging from the ashes of the <keyword id="6365126" type="COUNTRY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Soviet-Union">Soviet Union</keyword>. Mr Nazarbayev has ruled this state of 17m people, scattered over a territory the size of <keyword id="155805" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="Western-Europe">Western Europe</keyword>, with an iron fist. He is one of only two Central Asian leaders to have been in power since before the Soviet Union's collapse in 1991. <keyword id="359772" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Islam-Karimov">Islam Karimov</keyword>, next door in Uzbekistan, is the other. (They loathe each other.)
 Without Mr Nazarbayev, Astana would not exist. In 1997 it replaced leafy Almaty, 750 miles (1,200km) to the south near the Chinese border, as Kazakhstan's capital (though Almaty remains the bigger city). In the days when <keyword id="6359072" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="oil">oil</keyword> prices were high, the president decreed that a space-age metropolis would rise from the marshy land on the left bank of the Yesil river. The city bakes in summer and plunges to -40°C in winter. For the president, Astana is the site for flights of architectural fancy as extreme as the continental climate. The capital is meant both to awe his adoring public and to beam soft power across the Central Asian steppe where Kazakhstan, as the economic powerhouse, has pretensions to regional leadership.
 Astana has all the weirdness of <keyword id="55327" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Pyongyang">Pyongyang</keyword> and little of the human scale of Canberra. It is a collection of monuments and boulevards on a scale that screams "L'état, c'est moi". The president surveys his city from his marble-clad, blue-and-gold-domed palace. The <keyword id="17020" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Jewel">jewel</keyword> in Astana's crown is usually reckoned to be a <keyword id="353618" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Norman-Foster">Norman Foster</keyword> pyramid, the Palace of Peace and Accord. It flashes neon at night, houses an academy of Turkic studies and is supposed to promote reconciliation among the world's religions. It is one of several buildings that displays Mr Nazarbayev's obsession for hosting conventions, expositions and conferences.

	A study in Asian authoritarian kitsch is provided by the Bayterek tower, which is meant to represent a poplar tree holding the golden egg of the Samruk, the mythical bird of Kazakh happiness. On the observation deck, 100 metres (330 feet) above ground, visitors may lay their hand in the gilded imprint of the president's and make a wish. More visually pleasing is the Khan Shatyr ("the Khan's Marquee"), a vast transparent tent made of space-age fabric. Meant to echo the nomads that exist no more, the 35-acre (14-hectare) site houses, among other things, a shopping mall and a beach resort. It is where Mr Nazarbayev held a lavish 70th-birthday bash.
 The ruler is a modern-day khan himself, with a thriving cult industry. He is immortalised in statues, in films and in print as a children's fairy-tale hero. He rules Kazakhstan as a one-man show, rigging elections, muzzling the media and brooking no opposition. Yet Western leaders beat a path to his door. Britain's prime minister, <keyword id="6430216" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="David-Cameron">David Cameron</keyword>, was in Astana this month drumming up business. A former British prime minister, <keyword id="63764" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Tony-Blair">Tony Blair</keyword>, has a consultancy contract as Mr Nazarbayev's sultan of spin. The president longs for the Nobel peace prize.
 He is no crude dictator. He has a popular <keyword id="30450" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="40" keywordseo="Touch">touch</keyword>, and many Kazakhstanis like the political stability and rising living standards his regime supplies. Elsewhere in the region, both are in short supply. Yet, in one of the world's top 20 oil producers, the dollars are not trickling down to everyone. In late 2011 a growing gulf between haves and have-nots came into focus when security forces opened fire on striking oil workers in the western energy hub of Zhanaozen, killing 15. The turmoil erupted just as Mr Nazarbayev was opening his latest architectural indulgence in Astana, an arch marking Kazakhstan's 20th year of independence. The contrast between Astana's spaceship cityscape and the shabby streets of Zhanaozen, with their crumbling, Soviet-era, rabbit-hutch housing, could hardly be greater.

	Astana's name could scarcely be more mundane: it means "capital" in Kazakh. Yet its Persian derivation has connotations of a "royal porte", and the widespread belief among Kazakhstanis is that the city will one day be renamed Nursultan, after the man who had it built. Kazakhstan Economy: Laying The Golden Egg

As demands remains robust, India's carriers are adding <keyword id="6367662" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="flights">flights</keyword> across the country giving passengers more options to travel. 
 <keyword id="6356167" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="GoAir">GoAir</keyword>, <keyword id="6354706" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Indigo">IndiGo</keyword> and <keyword id="6358032" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="SpiceJet">SpiceJet</keyword> are adding flights; <keyword id="2467342" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Vistara">Vistara</keyword> is growing its fleet while Jet Airways is planning to announce new services shortly. GoAir today said that it is launching 12 additional daily frequencies and 4 new routes. 
 
With the launch of four new routes, GoAir becomes the first airline to directly connect Mumbai - Leh and Bengaluru - Port Blair 'in the wake of growing demand on these sectors'. "GoAir also announced daily direct connectivity between Bengaluru, Patna and Ranchi," the airline said in a release. 
 
Additional frequencies with improved timings have also been introduced connecting 10 Indian cities. "Ranchi, Lucknow and Patna will see increased daily frequencies from Delhi. Srinagar will be additionally connected with Mumbai. Leh will also see an additional frequency to Srinagar," the airline said. 
 
"Overall the new summer schedule follows the principle of connecting the triangle Mumbai-Delhi-BLR with better timings and reaching out from that cities to tier II and tier III cities," said CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer. 
 
It added that 'improved' timings will be implemented on key routes like Mumbai - Bengaluru, Delhi - Bengaluru, Mumbai - Goa, Delhi - Goa and Delhi - Kolkata. Ahmedabad being an important market, third daily direct flight will be introduced from Mumbai. 
 
Recently,IndiGo announced the launch of 24 new flights connecting key cities within the country. 
 
"Effective 07 January, 2016, IndiGo is launching twelve flights connecting Delhi to Trivandrum, Bengaluru to Vishakhapatnam, Bengaluru to Bhubaneshwar, Ahmedabad to Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar to Kolkata and Chennai to Trivandrum. With effect from January 14, 2016, IndiGo will launch its sixth daily non-stop flight between Chennai and Hyderabad. Additionally, IndiGo is also launching 10 flights on January 15, 2016, connecting Bengaluru to Kolkata, Delhi to Ahmedabad, Delhi to Bengaluru, Delhi to Kolkata and Hyderabad to Mumbai;" the airline said in a release. 
 
Before that, SpiceJet said that it has increased capacity on the Delhi-Kabul route as well as on domestic routes such as Chennai- Kochi, Bengaluru-Vijaywada, Kochi-Chennai and Hyderabad-Vijaywada. On Saturday, Vistara said it would be adding 4 Airbus A320 planes this year. The airline currently operates a fleet of 9 Airbus 320 aircraft and operates 307 weekly flights to 12 destinations across the country.

to travel as IndiGo, GoAir and Spicejet add flights across the country

Mumbai, Mar 26 () Budget carrier GoAir on Thursday said its all services, including international flights, will remain suspended till April 14 due to the 21-day lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic. The nationwide lockdown is to remain into effect till April 14. The central government has suspended all domestic and international flight operations in India to curb the spread of coronavirus. "GoAir is fully supportive of the initiatives announced by our Prime Minister (Narendra Modi). The airline fully respects the decisive steps being taken by our PM followed by various state and local governments to arrest the spread of COVID-19. "Although these steps will stop air travel until April 14 and impact the very purpose of GoAir's existence, they are essential for the health of our customers, our employees and our nation. Thus, GoAir has temporarily suspended all its flights until April 14," the airline said in a release. The destinations to and from where the flights have been suspended till April 14 are Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Kannur, Leh, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Ranchi, Srinagar and Varanasi, as well as international destinations namely Phuket, Male, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bangkok, Kuwait, and Dammam. As soon as the situation improves and the government revokes the lockdown, GoAir will start operating its network to the fullest extent, it added. It also said GoAir will protect all the PNRs (passenger reservation numbers) for customers who booked themselves to travel between March 26 and April 14 as part of the 'Protect Your PNR' scheme, wherein customers can reschedule their flights up to April 15, 2021, using the same PNR. Customers can redeem their tickets (booked between March 1, 2020, and April 15, 2020) on any GoAir flight on any date between April 15, 2020, and April 15, 2021, with no charges being levied (fare difference may be applicable), it said. According to the latest update, the tribal villagers from Arunachal Pradesh witnessed ‘thick black smoke’ across the mountains near the Molo village, IANS reported. The aircraft, which has 13 people onboard, had taken off from Assam on Monday. However, the ground authorities were not able to make contact with the plane after 1 pm on Monday. Come Tuesday, IAF launched C-130J, AN-32 and Mi-17 of IAF and Indian Army ALH helicopter to locate the missing aircraft. In efforts to locate the aircraft, a search operation using Indian Navy's Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft P8i and ISRO satellite — CARTOSAT and RISAT — was put into action for capturing images from the dense forest cover in Assam screening all possible crash sites. "There is no sign of the aircraft. Search and rescue operation is on full swing," IAF spokesman Wing Commander Ratnakar Singh told IANS in Shillong. The latest incident comes after the IAF lost an AN-32 in Bay of Bengal when the flight from Chennai to Port Blair went missing with 29 onboard was never found.
