So I thought it would be cool to try out some highly recommended eco-friendly makeup-removing alternatives. Just to be clear, by an eco-friendly alternative, I mean products that are multiuse and don't head straight into the trash after one use. Just for reference, I do have combination skin, and I will be doing the same makeup look for each <keyword id="1353119" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="makeup-remover">makeup remover</keyword>.</p><p>First up we have the <keyword id="11750856" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="face-halo">Face Halo</keyword>. All you have to do is wet it with warm water and start gently wiping the makeup off. It has these special fibers that supposedly really get in your pores and remove everything. It's so wild how well makeup comes off with just one of these and warm water, nothing else. They come in a pack of three and can be cleaned in the washing machine up to 200 times, so you definitely get a lot of use out of them. I only needed one to get everything off.</p><p>The <keyword id="11750857" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="makeup-eraser">MakeUp Eraser</keyword> is another reusable fiber-cloth-type of remover, and just like the Face Halo, all you need to do is wet it and remove your makeup. I do like that this one is bigger, just because you get everything off a little faster. And it actually has two sides that do different things. The short-fiber side is for makeup removal, and the long-fiber side is for exfoliating. These will supposedly last you three to five years, which is great. The instructions say you can hand-wash it and hang it to dry after using it, but try to machine-wash it at least once a week. It's supposedly antibacterial.</p><p>Next up we have the Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser. People have been telling me to try this out for years. Cold cream is one of the oldest ways to remove makeup. I'm talking hundreds and hundreds of years old. You basically just apply a layer to your face and start working it in to break the makeup down. Then you can remove it with a washcloth. This remover is 50% moisturizer, so it's going to leave the skin feeling hydrated. I know my skin tends to feel really stripped and dry after taking my makeup off, so I loved how soft it felt after using this. Also, this is five bucks, so it's a good affordable option. Just a warning, though: this stuff has an intense floral-y fragrance, so if that's not your thing, make sure you try the fragrance-free version.</p><p>Of all the makeup removers I've tried, micellar water is still my makeup remover of choice. I love this Bioderma Sensibio H2O micellar water. I just put some on a reusable cotton pad and swipe the makeup off. Micellar water contains micelles, which help pull all the dirt and makeup from your skin. I typically follow it up with my normal cleanser, but a cool thing about micellar water is that you don't need to rinse it off afterwards, so it's super quick and easy. Plus, unlike my experience with makeup wipes, it doesn't burn my eyes at all when I'm removing eye makeup. Cleansing balms are another great alternative.</p><p>This oat <keyword id="11750858" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="cleansing-balm">cleansing balm</keyword> from The Inkey List is super thick. It has almost, like, a Vaseline-y texture. You work this into the skin, and it'll break the makeup down, then you rinse it off. I think people with dry skin will really like this one because it has oat kernel oil that supposedly helps your skin's moisture barrier, so it feels hydrating, even after you rinse. Side note: This does have sweet almond oil in it, so beware, all my friends out there with nut allergies.</p><p>And lastly, we have another super-popular cleansing balm, the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm. I remember Hyram saying he loved this one. Don't you just want to eat this? Once again, you just have to work this into the skin and rinse. This has sea buckthorn oil in it, which is supposed to soften and protect. And it also has a lot of other great ingredients, like olive oil and vitamin E to nourish the skin. This is definitely a pricier remover, but because you need so little to get the job done, I think this will last you a very long time.</p>

She is heartbroken to hear the news but musters some courage, puts on a smile and goes in to greet him. <br /><br />She calls him endearingly, “Daadu” and he asks, “Who is it?” She is taken aback as reality hits her but takes it upon herself to remind him of good, old days. She finds their archive of old photographs and tries to take him down the memory lane but nothing seems to work. She then turns to the sense of touch and trusts that it would work its magic and bring back some of his memories. And it does. They break into a laughter together as the grandfather pulls her cheeks and says, “Googly Woogly Wooksh.” <br /><br />As he touches her, the lyrics go, “I am confident that I would find you. I trust that you are here somewhere around me. Googly Woogly Wooksh.” The background score is a cherry on the top as it amplifies our emotions and subtly plugs in pictures of hide-and-seek, storytelling time and other memories that we shared with our grandparents growing up. <br /><br />It is also important to note here that not many advertisements have represented dementia patients and Ponds Cream’s efforts are worth appreciating. <br /><br />The brand and agency have cleverly evolved with changing times and managed to keep its old tagline relevant. It has catered to different groups like young kids, old couples, young couples, feminists and parents. <br /><br />When Ponds first launched its ‘Googly Woogly Wooksh’ ad, they made life unbearable for chubby teenagers in 2009 and it became a part of popular culture. It is also the first campaign/melody that pops in our head when we think of winter cream. We share our initials and a middle name. I am Anne Marie and she is Alice Marie, named after one of her mother's eight sisters, Anna Marie.</p><p>To explain why my <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/centenarian-lifestyle-tips-technology-gossip-social-life-2024-3">grandmother is so sharp</a> at nearly a century of age is impossible, but one reason could be that she goes through a cognitive practice of naming family members each night before bed, specifically her aunts: Olga Margret, Elsie Meta, Anna Marie, Wanda May, Irene Lucille, Jean Clyde, Helen Dawn, and Shirley Jean.</p><h2 id="30134f7c-53c2-43c9-bb02-51c344eeea22">The women in my family have been named after prior generations</h2><p>This long line of sisters kicked off what would be <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kids-maiden-name-middle-names-family-legacy-2024-3">names linking generations</a> of women in my family. My grandmother also married a man named Jack, with whom she'd have two lovely daughters of her own — one of which was my mother.</p><p>This story could easily turn into a listicle of Anne's and Lou's and Marie's, but behind each one is a life story. The oldest daughter of Alice and Jack was named Anne Marie after the two beloved sisters, Phyllis Anne and Alice Marie. She was a lovely redhead with freckles sprinkled across her face who lived only until the age of 12. When I tell you that my grandmother is one of the sharpest women I know, she is also the strongest, having to endure such heartache and still having so much love left to give her youngest daughter Sally Lou — and to me — her first born granddaughter.</p><p>Sally Lou's name was the first to take the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/named-baby-with-birth-mother-adoption-2024-5">maternal side</a> of our family tree and grow another branch: this time taking the name of Jack's mother and sister, both named Mary Louise.</p><p>We called the first Mary Louise our Grandma Louise even though she was my great aunt. And my mother not only took part of her name, but a piece of her persona, favoring <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/style/womens-basics-clothing-brands">stylish clothing</a>, bold accessories, and floral perfumes. I have memories of Grandma Louise sitting at her vanity table, slathering Pond's cold cream on her face that could be a mirror image of my own mother today. Her daughter — also named Mary Louise, and we called Aunt Mary Lou slept in a circular royal blue velvet bed with specially-made sheets, drove a powder blue Thunderbird convertible, and donned a bikini into her 60s. Her hair, a natural auburn not unlike her sister's, has always been dyed blonde, not unlike Aunt Mary Lou. She's shown me what it meant to work hard but love even harder. When my mother married my father, she took on the last name Roderique — and with this a new tradition of naming — this time with her son. My great-great grandfather was John James Roderique, his son James Otis Roderique, my paternal grandfather was James Hamlin Roderique — the exact same as both my dad and brother.</p><p>The women in my family take care of each other in old age. My grandmother took care of my great grandmother until she died at the age of 96. I remember Sunday mornings with her, when four generations of us would pile into the car and sit at The Village Inn diner while the rest of the town sat for sermons. My mom now lives with my grandmother, and selflessly ushers her to doctor appointments and the grocery store — or for Friday night margaritas. This is not done out of obligation, but love.</p><p>I'm proud to be a part of this long line of women, many of whom are gone but whose names and stories still remain.</p>

My completed look included concealer, long-wearing foundation, blush, <a href="https://www.insider.com/maybelline-liquid-lipstick-review-and-photos-2020-6">lipstick</a>, eyebrow gel, black eyeliner, and waterproof mascara.</p><p><div type="image" title="one size beauty brand review" height="1454" width="1090" msid="77231002" hostid="261"></div></p><p>On the brand's website, the Go Off spray is described as a "super-fine mist" that "doesn't leave skin feeling tight or dry." After trying the product myself, I can attest to that description.</p><p>First, I sprayed the mist (which has a slightly rosy scent) directly onto my face, and was impressed by how light and airy it felt on my skin. After the product settled, my face quickly felt oily, and I could see some makeup — like my eyeliner — start to dissolve. As I wiped off my foundation, I was left with shiny skin that felt smooth and moisturized, albeit a bit greasy.</p><p>That's when I decided to spray a bit of the product directly onto a reusable makeup cloth so that I could remove my eye makeup. In my experience, I hardly needed more than half of one wipe to remove all of my makeup, and it felt like a waste to throw the rest away unused. That being said, I stopped using makeup wipes altogether about a year ago, as I personally feel there are more environmentally friendly options out there.</p><p><div type="image" title="one size makeup wipes" height="1794" width="2394" msid="77231006" hostid="261"></div></p><p>In my opinion, those interested in trying products from ONE/SIZE should go with the brand's makeup-dissolving mist.</p><p>I found that the spray removed even my most stubborn makeup, and did so in a quick and effortless way. Some might take issue with how moisturizing the product is — as it can leave skin feeling a bit greasy afterwards — but I found that it ultimately dried down nicely.
