The shares are available at a price band of ₹940-₹980. The lot size has been set up at 15 shares, taking the value of one lot to ₹14,700. Overall, investors have bid for 5.47 crore shares from 3.45 crore shares open for subscription. Retail investors subscribed to PolicyBazaar’s IPO 2.04 times. Qualified institutional buyers (QIB) have subscribed to the Policybazaar’s IPO by 2.08 times and non-institutional investors have subscribed 23%. Google said it makes these predictions using AI, information from Google Maps users, and historical location trends that predict future crowdedness levels for transit lines. Google Maps will also show live crowdedness information at the transit car level in New York and Sydney. Google is sourcing data from agencies like Long Island Rail Road and Transport for New South Wales for this feature. So users in these cities will get to see which cars on the train are the least and most crowded. Google plans to add more cities soon. Another feature limited to users in the US is the option to add more detailed reviews for businesses. Google Maps gets new features to help users get back on the road

High growth, operating leverage, strong balance sheet and established brand recall among the Indian populace are its key business moats. This should help the company generate strong free cash flows as we expect its cost-to-income ratio to plateau ahead,” the brokerage house said. PB Fintech (formerly known as EtechAces Marketing and Consulting) was founded by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad alumni Yashish Dahiya, Alok Bansal and Avaneesh Nirjar in 2008. PB Fintech went public in November 2021, a few days before digital payments giant Paytm. The company listed on the stock exchange at a premium of 17%, at ₹1200, over the issue price of ₹980. The company’s market cap reached <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/policybazaar-starts-trading-at-1150-a-premium-of-17/articleshow/87708748.cms">$7.3 billion</a> on the day of listing. However, the company’s shares have largely been on a downward trajectory since then. ICICI Securities highlighted that the prime growth driver for PB Fintech would be the increasing premium income expected in online insurance. PolicyBazaar plans to raise close to $870 million through its IPO at a likely valuation of $3.5 billion

Shishir Mankad, managing partner and head of financial services at Praxis Global Alliance, told Business Insider that this would include both direct and indirect employment opportunities across verticals — technology as well as functional roles in product design and analytics, customer journey design, automation as well as fulfillment roles in sales and distribution, claims processing and more. The segment is expected to generate part-time earning opportunities for another 2-3 million people in the same time frame, Mankad added. Meanwhile, Shwetank Verma, co-founder of Indian Insurtech Association and founder of investment firm <keyword id="6403908" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="leo-capital" source="Orion">Leo Capital</keyword>, in an email interaction with Business Insider said that the online insurance sellers in India are expected to double their premium by 2025 and create over a lakh direct jobs. “The insurance distribution in India has been changing in a very different way. There was a time when distribution was largely a feet on street model. LIC [Life Insurance Corporation] alone has roughly 1.5 million agents and the rest of the industry put together nearly another 0.5 million. There are a similar number of executives working as employees in the industry. However, over the past 5 to 7 years attempts, have been made to create digital distribution infrastructure. These efforts will increase in the next few years,” Sanjib Jha, chief executive of Coverfox said. Indian online insurance players include initial public offering (IPO)-bound <keyword id="696009" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="policybazaar" source="Orion">PolicyBazaar</keyword>, Digit Insurance, BankBazaar, Coverfox and others. ACKO General Insurance is one of the startups that issues their own insurance policies instead of being a third-party seller. <keyword id="3067182" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dexter-capital" source="Orion">Dexter Capital</keyword>’s founder Devendra Agrawal, in an email interaction with Business Insider, noted that the Indian insurtech segment is a very large subsector of fintech and is largely dominated by traditional companies. There is very little innovation and user friendliness in the current offering, but there is scope for greater innovation as more startups emerge in the segment. He added that the new insurtech segment is likely to focus on three things. First, new product launches. Second, a more user-friendly interface and processes. Third, newer models would be introduced when it comes to insurance selling. Shwetank Verma of Indian Insurtech Association reflected a similar view, highlighting that there is a lot of scope for innovation in the insurtech sector and new categories like cyber insurance, <a href="https://content.naic.org/cipr_topics/topic_parametric_disaster_insurance.htm">parametric insurance </a>— a non-traditional insurance product that offers pre-specified payouts based upon a trigger event — and would gain more traction this decade by 2030. “Most of the insurtech action has been in terms of distribution of policies and a couple of insurers who are digital-first. While these categories will certainly see growth, our view is that the sector is at a tipping point. We expect to see a lot more action on other parts of the insurance value chain, be it underwriting or risk management or claims processing, or product design such as micro-insurance or embedded products,” Mankad of Praxis Global Alliance said. Even as the Indian insurtech sector progresses, health, auto and life insurance will continue to be the major chunk of insurance sales both online and offline, as per industry experts. Online insurance sellers expected to create up to 300,000 jobs in the next three years

After several companies and brands abused <keyword id="6355629" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="google" source="Orion">Google</keyword> Messages' <keyword id="6389670" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="rcs" source="Orion">RCS</keyword> (Rich Communication Services) feature in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> to bombard users with multiple ads without their consent, the tech company has decided to turn off RCS ads functionality in the country. According to The Verge, Google has confirmed to disabled the feature in India. "We are aware that some businesses are abusing our anti-spam policies to send promotional messages to users in India. We are disabling this feature in India while we work with the industry to improve the experience for users," a company spokesperson said in a statement late on Wednesday. Last month, multiple users took to social media platforms that RCS ads in Google Messages appear to be coming from "Verified Business" accounts and the frequency of such ads has picked up over the last few months in the country. The users reported a deluge of ads, primarily related to personal loans, gambling companies and life insurance. Multiple reports said that the problem has been around for about a year, and "complaints appear to be coming overwhelmingly from users based in India". "The trend initially blew up with <keyword id="46013" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="kotak-mahindra-bank" source="Orion">Kotak Mahindra Bank</keyword>, <keyword id="85462" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="bajaj-finserv" source="Orion">Bajaj Finserv</keyword>, Buddy Loan, and PolicyBazaar have turned out to be the biggest offenders," the reports claimed. While several brands globally use messaging apps and SMS texts to advertise new products, these ads going on in India "are not necessarily the result of a user's buying activity," the reports noted.
