"In its journey of last 8 years, starting from the annual turnover of Rs 8 crore in year 2014-15, PMBI has clocked its highest monthly sales turnover of Rs 100 crore in the month of May, 2022 which in turn has saved around Rs 600 crore of citizens of the country", said the Union Health Ministry in a statement on Tuesday. In May, 2021, total sales were Rs 83.77 crore and that was the COVID-19 second wave period. People have been able to reduce their out-of-pocket expenditure on medicines with the government intervention of this noble scheme, the ministry said. The Centre has also set a target to increase the number of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya <keyword id="4079131" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="janaushadhi-kendras" source="Orion">Janaushadhi Kendras</keyword> to 10,000 by March 2024. The number of these stores is currently 8735. Under the PMBJP, 739 districts of the country have been covered. Currently, these centres make available more than 1600 medicines and 250 surgical devices including nutraceuticals, Ayush products and Suvidha sanitary pads which are sold at Re 1 per pad. Monkeypox caseload rises to 132 in Spain;  96 cases from Madrid alone

The gross revenue from <keyword id="6368071" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="goods-and-service-tax" source="Orion">Goods and Service Tax</keyword> (GST) in the month of May came in at Rs 140,885 crore, data showed on Wednesday. This is the fourth time the monthly GST <keyword id="6380839" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="collection" source="Orion">collection</keyword> crossed Rs 1.40 lakh crore mark since inception of GST and the third month at a stretch since March 2022. Of the total collection in May, CGST amounted to Rs 25,036 crore, SGST was Rs 32,001 crore, <keyword id="6360947" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="igst" source="Orion">IGST</keyword> was Rs 73,345 crore, and cess Rs 10,502 crore. The GST revenues for May 2022 were 44 per cent higher than collected in the same month last year, at Rs 97,821 crore. Notably, the monthly collection had touched a record high of Rs 1.68 lakh crore in April 2022. Besides, the total number of e-way bills generated in the month of April 2022 was at 7.4 crore, which is 4 per cent lesser than 7.7 crore e-way bills generated in the month of March 2022. E-way bill is a document for carrying any consignment of goods of value exceeding Rs 50,000. On Tuesday, the Centre released the entire amount of Goods and Service Tax (GST) compensation payable to states up to May 31, 2022 by releasing an amount of Rs 86,912 crore. The payment was made to assist the states in managing their resources and ensuring that their programmes, especially the expenditure on capital, is carried out successfully during the financial year. GST collections up by 44% at ₹1.4 lakh crore in May

Meta-owned <keyword id="790242" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="whatsapp" source="Orion">WhatsApp</keyword> on Wednesday said that it banned over 16.6 lakh bad accounts in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> in the month of April in compliance with the new IT Rules 2021. The platform had banned over 18 lakh such accounts in the country in March. The company also received 844 grievance reports in April within the country, and the accounts "actioned" were 123. In March, WhatsApp received 597 grievance reports and the accounts "actioned" were 74. "This user-safety report contains details of the user complaints received and the corresponding action taken by WhatsApp, as well as WhatsApp's own preventive actions to combat abuse on our platform. As captured in the latest Monthly Report, WhatsApp banned over 1.6 million (1,666,000) accounts in the month of April," a WhatsApp spokesperson said in a statement. The company said that data shared highlights the number of Indian accounts banned by WhatsApp between April 1-30 using the abuse detection approach, which also includes action taken in furtherance to negative feedback received from users via its "Report" feature. "Over the years, we have consistently invested in <keyword id="107950" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="artificial-intelligence" source="Orion">Artificial Intelligence</keyword> and other state of the art technology, data scientists and experts, and in processes, in order to keep our users safe on our platform," the company added. Under the new IT Rules 2021, big digital and social media platforms, with more than 5 million users, have to publish monthly compliance reports. The fund is supported by leading global institutional investors such as DST Global Partners, <keyword id="13441808" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="breyer-capital" source="Orion">Breyer Capital</keyword>, as well as other major private equity funds, family offices, and corporations as limited partners, Binance said in a statement. The new fund will invest in projects that can extend the use cases of cryptocurrencies and drive the adoption of Web3.0 and Blockchain technologies. "The goal of the newly closed investment fund is to discover and support projects and founders with the potential to build and to lead Web3 across DeFi, NFTs, gaming, <keyword id="11121339" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="metaverse" source="Orion">Metaverse</keyword>, social and more," said Changpeng Zhao 'CZ', Founder and CEO of Binance. Since 2018, Binance Labs has invested in and incubated more than 100 projects from over 25 countries.
