New Delhi, Feb 26 () The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) on Wednesday said it has launched a new toll-free number for GST helpdesk, which will be operational 365 days for answering queries related to the indirect tax.In a statement, the GSTN said it has revamped GST helpdesk by introducing new features to improve taxpayers' experience by making the system more robust and transparent. The GSTN has come up with a new GST help desk toll-free calling number '1800 103 4786'. The caller may call on this number on 365 days in a year from 9 am to 9 pm. With the introduction of the toll-free number, the existing contact number for the GST helpdesk (0120-24888999) has been discontinued, the GSTN added.Further, 10 new languages were introduced on helpdesk. Till now, taxpayers had a facility to interact with the GST helpdesk agents in Hindi and English. Now they can interact in 10 other Indian languages -- Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Malayalam, Punjabi and Assamese.Further, an improved version of Grievance Redressal Portal too has been launched. "With the re-emergence of Covid-19 in our community these are not ordinary times and so while the decision as to the election date sits with me, I spoke with all party leaders to seek their views," she said. "Covid-19 will be with us for some time to come. Continuously pushing out an election does not lessen the risk of disruption," the Prime Minster said, adding she would not change the election date again. This decision gives all parties time over the next nine weeks to campaign and the Electoral Commission enough time to ensure an election can go ahead, Ardern said. Advance voting begins on October 3, she added. New Zealand witnessed a resurgence in the number of coronavirus cases last week after a period of 102 days. The death toll currently stood at 22. Restrictions were imposed on Auckland on August 12 after a number of new infections were identified in the city. The cluster was initially traced back to members of one family, although Ardern later said that subsequent contact-tracing had found an earlier case involving a shop worker who became sick on July 31. There are four "alert levels" in New Zealand, and Auckland has been on Level 3 since the new measures were announced. The rest of the country is on Level 2. Before the new cluster was identified, the government had lifted almost all of its lockdown restrictions, which were first imposed in March. At 5.30pm on Thursday ‘Fani’ was located at a distance of 320 km South from Puri. It hit Odisha coast between Gopalpur and Chandbali around Puri. The cyclone is expected to move towards West Bengal with a speed of 115 Kmph. Moreover, the cyclone is expected to move towards north-east region and emerge into Bangladesh on Saturday Evening, said IMD. Storm surge of about 1.5 metres height above astronomical tide is very likely to inundate low lying areas of Ganjam, Khurda, Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts of Odisha at the time of landfall.

 The affect of landfall has already begun. North Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha are receiving light. The IMD said sea conditions are "very likely to be very rough" to high off north Tamilnadu, Puducherry, along and south Andhra Pradesh coasts till Friday. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into deep sea areas. It warned that the cyclone is likely to cause damages to all types of houses, communication and power poles, road and rail infrastructure. The Odisha government said that around 900 cyclone shelters have been made ready to house the evacuees. "It is estimated that a total of 1150,000 people will have to be moved to safer areas, of which about 330,000 people have already been evacuated," a statement said.

 Teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) have been put in place. Sinha directed establishment of a central toll free helpline for the general public and asked the Central ministries to set up control rooms to coordinate rescue and relief operations. The Civil Aviation Ministry informed that flight operations from Bhubaneswar were suspended from midnight of Thursday, while operations from Kolkata airport also will remain suspended from Friday morning until conditions improve. The railways have already suspended operations of trains in Odisha and all trains in Bhadrak-Vizianagaram section (of the Kolkata-Chennai route) has been cancelled till Saturday. A total of 140 trains including 83 passenger trains have been cancelled so far. The Indian Coast Guard and the Navy have deployed ships and helicopters for relief and rescue operations while the Army and Air Force units in the states have also been put on standby.

<ul class="summary-list"><li>The <keyword id="1754604" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="coronavirus">coronavirus</keyword> pandemic and ensuing stay-at-home measures have without question impacted people's <keyword id="6354774" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Mental-health">mental health</keyword>.</li><li>Business Insider recently spoke to Ashley Womble, head of communications at Crisis Text Line, a free mental health hotline that works in the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland.</li><li>Womble said the number of <keyword id="6356238" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="suicide">suicide</keyword> interventions actually went down in the past three months, when most countries were under some form of lockdown.</li><li>More middle-aged people have been using the service, and the predominant complaint among users has been <keyword id="15418" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="anxiety">anxiety</keyword>.</li><li>While text volume is returning to pre-coronavirus levels, Womble said she believes the outbreak will have a long-term impact on mental health.</li></ul>The high-profile suicides of two <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-pandemic-doctor-ambulance-worker-suicides-how-to-help-2020-4?r=US&amp;IR=TIR=T">New York City medical workers</a> has raised questions about how much the coronavirus outbreak is impacting people's mental health.<a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/05/trump-acknowledges-some-coronavirus-deaths-will-result-from-reopening.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In early May,</a> President Donald Trump suggested there would be a spike in suicides if lockdowns continued, but the truth appears to be more complicated.Earlier this week Business Insider spoke to Ashley Womble, head of communications at Crisis Text Line, a free mental health hotline that operates solely by text, to understand the outbreak's impact on its service.The group operates in the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland, and exchanges a million messages a month with texters, according to <a href="https://www.crisistextline.org/about-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">its website</a>.Womble said traffic shot up 116% in <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-causes-spike-number-of-texts-to-crisis-text-line-2020-4">late March and early April</a> when those countries started imposing lockdown measures, and that the type of texter and their issues changed — but suicide interventions actually decreased.While Crisis Text Line's crisis counselors are able to deescalate 99% situations, Womble says they hear from a few people a day that express clear plans to kill themselves, leading counselors to get law enforcement involved.But these kinds of calls have gone down during the pandemic.Back in February, there was an average of 28 calls a day that required intervention. As of May, that number had decreased to 23.8.Womble declined to speculate on the reasoning behind the drop, saying "it would be dangerous to make assumptions."Suicides in Japan also dropped 20% year-on-year in April 2020, during the country's coronavirus state of emergency, <a href="https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-health-coronavirus-japan-suicides/calm-before-the-storm-for-japan-suicides-as-coronavirus-ravages-economy-idUKKBN2350C0">according to Reuters</a>. But an expert told the agency it was just "the quiet before the storm."<h2>A growing crisis among the middle-aged</h2>One of the most surprising changes Crisis Text Line experienced during the early stages of the pandemic, Womble said, were the age groups seeking help.Normally, 75% of the people who text the line are young people below the age of 25. But when coronavirus lockdowns started in March, Womble said they started seeing a large uptick in texts from people between 35 and 44.As a member of this age group, Womble said she can see why this may be, since many her age are balancing both working from home and home-schooling their children.Some in this age category may also be on the front lines of the outbreak."We've also seen a lot of text message conversations from people who are essential workers. The word 'essential' has been one of our trending topics," Womble said."We did a deep dive into this and found that 48% of our texters either are themselves or have an immediate family member on the front lines."<div type="image" title="coronavirus nyc hospital" height="862" width="1149" msid="76232748" hostid="261"></div><h2>'Three waves' of anxiety</h2>Their concerns were different as well.Depression is usually the biggest issue that people text Crisis Text Line looking for help with, followed by relationship issues and anxiety. But after the outbreak, anxiety became the chief concern.Womble says they noticed "three waves" when it came to the things triggering anxiety, which they determined from an analysis of keywords used during text conversations.In the early days, it was clear people were worried about getting sick themselves, with the words "cough" and "asthma" coming up a lot, Womble said.People were also worried about their grandparents getting the disease, since older people have a harder time overcoming the coronavirus.But after weeks of lockdown, the complaints shifted to issues about quarantine, such as living with an abusive partner or substance abuse.The graphs below show the number of conversations per week about substance abuse, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. All have edged upward between March and May 2020.<div type="image" title="wave 2" height="372" width="953" msid="76232749" hostid="261"></div>Now they're experiencing a third wave of issues having to do with grief and job loss.<h2>Preparing for a long-term impact on mental health</h2>Womble says that text traffic now has recently returned to pre-coronavirus levels, but she doesn't think that's because mental health is improving."Our volume is not higher right now, but I don't think that speaks to resilience. I think that speaks to people maybe not reaching out," Womble said."Clearly people are in pain and I think more people need to know that this resource is available."In fact, Womble says Crisis Text Line is "preparing for the mental health impact to last for years."To meet the coming need, they recently expanded their service to nearly 10,000 crisis counselors, all of whom work remotely.They've also bumped up plans to expand to four other languages — Arabic, Spanish, French, and Portuguese — that will allow them to operate in more countries. The original plan was to expand to these languages by 2025, but now they're aiming for 2022.

Paring early gains, the 30-share BSE barometer was up 1,055.11 points or 3.70 per cent at 29,590.89. It rallied over 1,500 points in morning session. Similarly, the NSE Nifty stood 284.20 points, or 3.42 per cent, higher at 8,602.05 at 1430 hours. IndusInd Bank was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, rallying up to 34 per cent, followed by Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, L&amp;T, Bajaj Finance and HDFC. On the other hand, Maruti, Reliance Industries, NTPC and Sun Pharma were among the top laggards.In an effort to cushion the economic blow of the 21-day lockdown to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, Finance Minister Sitharaman announced a slew of measures to help the citizens survive the crisis.The Rs 1.70 lakh crore economic package will be implemented with immediate effect.The Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan scheme includes distribution of 5 kg of wheat or rice and one kg of preferred pulses free-of-cost every month over the next three months to 80 crore poor across the country and Rs 500 per month for next three months to as many of 20.5 crore women Jan Dhan Account holders. "Regret to inform the demise of ten COVID positive patients while under treatment in hospitals," the state Health and Family Welfare Department said in its official Twitter post. Three of the 10 new fatalities were reported from Ganjam district, two each from Cuttack and Rayagada and one each from Bolangir, Gajapati and Nayagarh districts, the official said. The state also registered a record of 2,129 recoveries on Sunday, the official said, adding that the recovery rate now stands at 69.28 per cent. A total of 54,406 people have been recovered from the disease so far. Of the new 2,993 cases, 1,879 were reported from different quarantine centres, while the remaining 1,114 were detected during contact tracing, he said. The state had last reported its highest single-day surge of 2,924 cases on August 15. The fresh cases were detected in all the 30 districts. Khurda reported the highest 606 cases, followed by Ganjam (271). Nine districts reported new cases above 100, he said. The number of active COVID-19 cases in Odisha now stands at 23,662, which accounts for 30.13 per cent of the total caseload in the state, the official said. Odisha had on Saturday tested a record 68,906 samples for COVID-19, taking the cumulative tests so far to 13,02,711. With a decline in the number of COVID 19 cases in Ganjam, the administration has decided to withdraw restrictions imposed on entry and exit from Berhampur town, District Collector A V Kulanga said.
