As a next step, they have already taken steps to withdraw all oppositions against each other in the trademark registry which will help them to proceed with the registration of their respective marks. BharatPe and PhonePe amicably settle all trademark disputes over 'Pe' suffix

Ashneer Grover, who was sacked along with his wife Madhuri Jain Grover by fintech platform BharatPe over alleged financial irregularities, has slammed the Reserve Bank of India (<keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword>) over its latest directive to non-bank prepaid payment instruments to stop loading credit lines onto their products. In a tweet, Grover said that "not allowing loading of pre-paid instruments through credit is aimed at protecting bank's lazy credit card business from Fintech's potent BNPL (buy now pay later) business". "It's a flex move by banks -- rent seeking. But market is market and regulation will eventually come around to what market needs," he added. The RBI, in its latest one-page circular, has disallowed non-bank PPIs from loading credit, and several such startups and firms have already stopped customers' transactions on their prepaid cards to avoid penalty. The banking PPIs include HDFC Flexipay, ICICI PayLater, HDFC Payzapp, SBI YONO and others, along with several UPI-driven platforms like Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay and Amazon Pay, etc. "The PPI-MD (PPI-master direction) does not permit loading of PPIs from credit lines. Such practice, if followed, should be stopped immediately. Any non-compliance in this regard may attract penal action under provisions contained in the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007," according to the RBI directive. Grover is reportedly in talks with US-based private equity companies to raise up to $300 million for a new startup. "Today I turn 40. The Reserve Bank of India’s recently released ‘Payments Vision 2025’ is not only going to boost digital payments in India but make them a strong ecosystem too, the report added. The core theme of the vision document, released by the central bank of India last weekend, is based on four Es — e-payments for everyone, everywhere and everytime. “To promote innovation, the RBI aims to explore a UPI-like system for cards, enable networks for IOT-based payments and interoperability for contactless transit card payments in the offline mode, and create payment systems for merchants. With the new initiatives, the RBI expects to increase digital payment transactions by 3x,” Emkay noted. RBI’s decision to revisit the merchant discount rate (MDR) as well as the regulation to link credit card and credit components to UPI will have a role to play. “Linking credit cards to UPI is another game changer as would globalization of India's Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs)," Avinash Godkhindi, MD and CEO of global digital bank Zaggle, added. Emkay Research believes that a comprehensive review of MDR — a charge paid by merchants to payments companies to accept online payments — could lead to relatively higher charges on credit card and wallet payments. Digital payments are on track to cross the 200 billion mark, but fintechs are yet to ‘earn’ from them

"The Microsoft Cloud delivers the end-to-end platforms and tools organisations need to navigate this time of transition and change," he said in a statement late on Tuesday. Microsoft records $20.5 billion in profits for July-September quarter riding on cloud, office biz

Date for filing income tax returns extended to March 15, 2022

If you’re logging in through desktop, then go to console — portfolio — IPO.</li><li>You will find a list of IPOs that are open for investment. Select the IPO you want to invest in. </li><li>Enter your UPI ID from the BHIM app. Ensure your UPI ID is mapped to your personal bank account. </li><li>Select investor type for your application. </li><li>Enter the lot size (number of shares required to buy in one lot) announced by the company. </li><li>Tick on the cut off price for more chances of allotment of shares as it indicates investor’s willingness to subscribe to shares at any price discovered within the price band. The beauty and fashion ecommerce company aims to raise ₹5,352 crore with this public issue. Of which, nearly ₹630 crore will be raised through fresh issue of shares. Another reason behind the hype of Nykaa’s IPO is its profitability. The company has been EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) positive since the financial year 2019. The indicated that the company was profitable at an operational level, even if it was reporting a loss after tax. Looking to invest in Nykaa’s IPO? Here’s what analysts are saying

<ul><li><keyword id="430602" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="justdial" source="Orion">JustDial</keyword>’s operating revenue declined 6% last quarter compared to the same time period last year.</li><li>This comes as a surprise as the festive season of October-December quarter is usually the best time for any consumer-facing business.</li><li>While the recent management change after Reliance acquisition may be one reason for the recent decline, over-diversification may be another.</li></ul>While many other digital businesses like Zomato, Nykaa and Paytm have recovered from the impact of COVID-19 a long time ago, JustDial seems stuck. Market watchers say it could be because the app is trying to be Google, without the resources to be one. Once again, JustDial's quarterly revenue declined on a year-on-year basis, which is a cause of concern since October-December quarter is usually the best time for any consumer-facing business. It is the time when customers are on a spending spree because of the festive season of Diwali and Christmas. However, the decline in JustDial’s operating revenue came as a surprise, especially when the company seems to offer every service that can be sold online. The stock was down over 3% on January 19, the first trading day after the earnings were reported. <div type="image" title="JustDial can’t beat Google and it should stop trying to, say analysts" msid="89011002" hostid="261"></div> From food to flight tickets, from delivery services to at-home beauty services, you name it and JustDial would have a seller on its platform. Yet, the revenue declined. Market watchers say, being a jack of all trades may not be working well for this 26-year-old company. Neha Khanna, director at Value Prolific (ValPro) Capital, tells Business Insider that JustDial has spread itself too thin and it has made it susceptible to competition from all sides. <div type="image" title="JustDial can’t beat Google and it should stop trying to, say analysts" msid="89010548" hostid="261"></div> JustDial — which offers at least 14 different services — is currently in competition with all the big newage digital businesses one can think of. Few examples include Paytm, BharatPe, Google Pay, PhonePe and others for its payments/fintech business, BigBasket for its grocery delivery business, Zomato and Swiggy for food delivery business, and Urban Company for at-home services vertical. <div type="image" title="JustDial can’t beat Google and it should stop trying to, say analysts" msid="89013326" hostid="261"></div> This stands true that JustDial is a discovery business, therefore, it simply has to sign up vendors/professionals willing to offer the service. It is still not doing the company any favour. “Google has taken away their core offering [of services discovery], and other players are emerging much stronger in different verticals,” Khanna says while explaining the knots in JustDial’s business. Yash Gupta, Equity Research Analyst at AngelOne, tells Business Insider that the nominal decline in JustDial’s business in the third quarter could also be attributed to the recent<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/corporates/news/just-dial-share-price-surge-as-mukesh-ambani-is-looking-to-buy-just-dial/articleshow/84432450.cms"> management change</a> after the Reliance Retail acquisition. There is usually a dull period for the stock due to cleaning of the balance sheet, he notes. But that could only be a part of the reason. Gupta explains that JustDial is a ‘pull’ sort of business model, where they need to go to customers and get them to start paying for its services. Meanwhile, other companies — such as Zomato, Swiggy, and even Google — where customers come on their own. This becomes the first challenge for the company. Secondly, the failure of JD Mart — the business-to-business (B2B) ecommerce marketplace of JustDial — to do anything substantial in the three quarters has further disappointed the people who keep track of this space, Gupta added. JD Mart competes with IndiaMart, which has been <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/indiamart-share-price-has-gone-up-five-times-in-just-the-last-18-months-here-is-why/articleshow/86058084.cms">reporting higher revenue </a>than JustDial for the past two years by focusing on B2B ecommerce. The crux of all these problems is over-diversification that prevents it from going big in one segment, Gupta says. They would have done much better if they focused on one vertical, he adds.
