According to a report by Brazilian daily <a href="https://economia.estadao.com.br/blogs/coluna-do-broad/norte-americana-coinbase-espera-fechar-compra-do-mercado-bitcoin-ate-abril/">Estado</a>, the company is set to acquire a company called 2TM, which is the parent company of <keyword id="13493921" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mercado-bitcoin" source="Orion">Mercado Bitcoin</keyword> — said to be the largest crypto exchange in the Latin American region.<br /><br />Coinbase’s acquisition of the platform could provide a strong reach in the Latin American and Portuguese-speaking markets. The company, which is reportedly valued at $2.2 billion, had acquired Lisbon-based crypto exchange CriptoLoja in January, along with others. It is also the holding company for other firms like Meubank, MB Digital Assets, Blockchain Academy, MezaPro, Wuzu, and more.<br /><br />Coinbase and Binance are considered to be the two largest crypto exchanges in the world, both in terms of trading and user volumes. Both have also taken steps to expand their footprints to the rest of the world by acquiring and investing in large exchanges elsewhere. The Estado report stated that talks between Coinbase and 2TM have caught Binance’s attention as well, and the Chinese crypto giant is also looking to expand into the Latin American market.<br /><br />Binance’s interest in the region isn’t particularly new either. The company introduced peer-to-peer trading for Brazilian Real (BRL), Argentine Peso (ARS), Colombian Peso (COP), Mexican Peso (MXN), and <keyword id="13493920" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="peruvian-sol" source="Orion">Peruvian Sol</keyword> (PEN) back in 2018.<br /><br />“Latin America is one of the most active regions for cryptocurrency trading, and peer-to-peer trading is widely used in the Latin American community,” Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, <a href="https://www.binance.com/en/blog/all/binance-introduces-peertopeer-trading-to-latin-america-with-integration-of-five-fiat-currencies--421499824684900467">said</a> at the time. “To better serve our users’ large demand for crypto, we are offering an open marketplace with the best P2P trading experience.”<br /><br /><keyword id="6409882" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="coinbase-ventures" source="Orion">Coinbase Ventures</keyword>, the investing arm of Coinbase has also <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/startups/news/amid-all-the-bitcoin-hype-another-indian-cryptocurrency-startup-coinswitch-kuber-gets-15-million-in-funding/articleshow/80245564.cms">invested in</a> CoinSwitch Kuber and <a href="https://coindcx.com/">CoinDCX</a>, two of the largest crypto exchanges in India, last year. Binance, on the other hand, had acquired the country’s largest crypto exchange by trading volumes, WazirX, in April 2021. Coinbase may reportedly be buying the largest crypto exchange in Latin America

<ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="11892922" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="netflix" source="Orion">Netflix</keyword> will soon test charging users in some countries for <keyword id="13400268" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="password-sharing" source="Orion">password sharing</keyword>.</li><li>In a test last year, Netflix asked viewers using accounts outside their homes to verify the account.</li></ul><p>Netflix wants you to stop sharing your password with friends, and it's undertaking a new effort to try to stop you.</p><p>The <keyword id="11899360" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="streaming" source="Orion">streaming</keyword> service will soon launch a test directed at cracking down on <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-hbo-streaming-companies-look-to-prevent-account-password-sharing-2019-11">password sharing</a> outside a user's household, Variety first <a href="https://variety.com/2022/digital/news/netflix-subscribers-pay-users-outside-households-1235206575/">reported</a> Wednesday.</p><p>"We've always made it easy for people who live together to share their Netflix account, with features like separate profiles and multiple streams in our Standard and Premium plans," Netflix <a href="https://about.netflix.com/en/news/paying-to-share-netflix-outside-your-household">said</a> in a blog post Wednesday. "While these have been hugely popular, they have also created some confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared. As a result, accounts are being shared between households — impacting our ability to invest in great new TV and films for our members."</p><p>The test will start in the next few weeks in three countries: Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru. The company will later evaluate whether to bring it to other markets.</p><p>Through the test, Netflix will start letting standard- and premium-plan customers add accounts for up to two people they don't live with for an extra monthly charge. These "extra members" will have their own profiles, personalized recommendations, and logins and passwords.</p><p>The fee is 2,380 Chilean pesos ($2.98) in Chile, $2.99 in Costa Rica, and 7.9 Peruvian sol ($2.11) in Peru. Netflix notes this is cheaper than if the secondary users get their own accounts.</p><p>Netflix will also let basic-, standard-, and premium-plan customers allow people sharing their account to transfer their profile information to a new account or an extra-member subaccount. When moving over, they'll keep their viewing history, personalized recommendations, and "me list."</p><p>Netflix prohibits password sharing in its terms and conditions, but it has been lax with enforcing the policy over the years. In 2016, the company even said <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-says-its-ok-to-share-passwords-2016-7">it was fine with users sharing their passwords</a> as long as they didn't sell them.</p><p>In recent years, though, Netflix has taken greater action against the practice.</p><p>Last year, the company <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-tests-password-sharing-crackdown-report-2021-3">tested a prompt</a> on viewers using accounts owned by people outside their households. It read, "If you don't live with the owner of this account, you need your own account to keep watching." Users were then asked to either verify the account with a text or email code or start their own Netflix trial.</p><p>The cost of getting your own Netflix account has risen recently. In January, the company <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-raises-prices-on-streaming-plans-us-canada-2022-1">raised the prices</a> of its streaming plans in the US and Canada to help bankroll more original content.</p>

But what about in 2018?</p><p><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/goldman-sachs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Goldman Sachs</a> has some ideas. In a recent note to clients, strategist Francesco Garzarelli and his colleagues have laid out seven high-conviction trades it sees paying off in a big way for investors next year.</p><p>But before we get into those, it's worth diving into the core tenets of Goldman's overall market outlook. First and foremost, the firm sees "strong and synchronous global expansion," marked by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/gdp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gross domestic product</a> growth of roughly 4% in 2018. It also says that the global economy is at very low risk of recession, given the low likelihood that central banks will aggressively hike interest rates. Further, Goldman sees emerging markets offering great growth potential.</p><p>To contrast with those positive elements, Goldman does see "relatively high" risk of temporary market sell offs, especially given how extended valuations are across asset classes. The firm highlights rising wages and a possible shift in investor psychology around the unwinding of central bank balance sheets as two particularly worrisome factors.</p><p>Got all that? Great, let's dive into Goldman's list of top trades:</p><h2>1) Short 10-year US Treasurys</h2><p>Goldman sees this as a way to position for more rate hikes from the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/federal-reserve" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Federal Reserve</a>. The firm forecasts that the yield on 10-year Treasurys will climb towards 3% in 2018, to a level not seen since 2014. It also says that the path of the Fed's policy change being priced in by markets is too flat, relative to Goldman economist projections.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Goldman Sachs</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><h2>2) Go long EUR/JPY with a target of 140 and a stop at 130</h2><p>This trade, involving going long the euro versus the Japanese yen, is built to profit from a continued rotation around a flat <a href="http://markets.businessinsider.com/index/us-dollar-index" target="_blank" rel="noopener">US dollar</a>. With most global economies growing simultaneously, Goldman says this is a way to still profit from a divergence in capital flows. It notes that EM growth is "above-trend and rising" - and when it's doing that, it generally outperforms on a volatility-adjusted basis. Further, Goldman sees great opportunity for EM-based countries to report earnings growth that surprises to the upside.</p><h2><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Goldman Sachs</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></h2><h2>4) Go long euro area 5-year/5-year forward inflation with a target of 2% and a stop at 1.5%</h2><p>Goldman recommends doing this using euro-denominated inflation swaps, because it sees the risk premium on euro area forward inflation depressed at the moment, creating an ideal entry point for a trade. The firm sees that premium increasing from here, driven by continued monetary accommodation by the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/european-central-bank" target="_blank" rel="noopener">European Central Bank</a>.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Goldman Sachs</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><h2>5) Go long the Emerging Markets Global Bond Index, while shorting the US High Yield Corporate Bond Index</h2><p>Goldman recommends this trade in order to position for strength in an EM credit cycle that's "younger and friendlier" than its US counterpart, which is getting long in the tooth.
