 Most probably, the new manufacturing facility will alongside the proposed <keyword id="6356684" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="patanjali">Patanjali</keyword> University campus on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. 
 
For the new unit, Patanjali Ayurved is in talks with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) to buy a 200-acre plot for around Rs 320 crore. 
 
"They are in talks with us to take industrial land to set up a factory and institutional land to set up a university. Once they decide, they will apply for allotment of land," YEIDA Chief Executive Arun Vir Singh told ET. 
 
Presently, Patanjali has only one manufacturing facility, which is near Haridwar in northern Uttarakhand state, and is spread over around 150 acres. 
 
Patanjali Ayurved’s sales rose by 64% to Rs 731 crore within six months that ended December 31, 2015. 
 
Patanjali Ayurved's provisional turnover in the first 10 months of FY16 was Rs 3,266.97 crore, compared with Rs 1,587.51 crore in the same period in the previous year, as per credit ratings firm Brickwork Ratings.

Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali demand is surging; may come up with 200-acre manufacturing facility near Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 24 () Haridwar-based Patanjali group, which has acquired debt-ridden Ruchi Soya, expects to have a turnover of Rs 35,000-Rs 40,000 crore in the next financial year and to become the largest company in the FMCG sector in the coming years replacing market leader HUL, said Yoga Guru Ramdev here on Friday.
 The company is expected to register a joint turnover of up to Rs 25,000 crore in the current financial year, in which around Rs 12,000 crore is likely to be contributed by Patanjali group firms and Rs 13,000 crore may come from Ruchi Soya, he said.
 After the acquisition of Ruchi Soya, Ramdev-promoted Patanjali expects threefold growth of the company and to become a major player in the edible oil category and take a lead in the domestic production of soyabean oil, sunflower oil and palm oil.
 Besides, it would also reduce India's dependency on imports in the edible oil segment and save foreign exchange reserve through self-reliance on palm oil.
 "This fiscal, Patanjali along with Ruchi Soya would have a turnover of around Rs 25,000 crore and expects to grow up to around Rs 35,000 crore-Rs 40,000 crore by the next fiscal year (FY21)," Ramdev said.
 He further said, "In next five years, we would have a turnover of around Rs 50,000 crore to Rs 1 lakh crore and will become the largest FMCG company, replacing HUL."
 Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), market leader in the FMCG segment, had reported a revenue of Rs 38,224 crore in 2018-19 and this is expected to go up further with the merger with GSK Healthcare's business.
 When contacted, HUL spokesperson said, "As a policy, we do not comment on competition."
 Patanjali had acquired Ruchi Soya in a corporate insolvency resolution process for around Rs 4,350 crore after contesting with Adani Group.
 In the next two years, 25 per cent shares of Ruchi Soya will have to be liquidated as per the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) guidelines, said Ramdev.
 The company expects a higher growth coming from Ruchi Soya, where it is aiming multi-fold growth and is introducing new products by extending its existing popular brand Nutrela.
 "We will launch three new products under Nutrela brand targeting the health-conscious people and the people suffering from diseases such as heart ailments, cholesterol and high blood pressure," he said.
 These products will include premium Oil Nutrela Gold, Nutrela Honey and Nutrela Protein Atta.
 "We are expecting three times growth from Ruchi Soya in coming years," Ramdev said adding that it will also lessen the burden of import of edible oil from other countries and make India self-dependent in this sector.
 Both Patanjali and Ruchi Soya would integrate its products by leveraging their strengths and would enhance the respective production capacity and increase market share, he added.
 Patanjali will also continue to have Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit as the brand ambassador for Ruchi Soya's Mahakosh range of products.
 Moreover, on being asked whether there would be competition between some products of Ruchi Soya and Patanjali Ayurved, Ramdev said the products of Ruchi Soya would not clash with Patanjali's product and will add value to the customers.
 With Ruchi Soya, it also aims to double its reach in the next five years to 50 crore people from the existing 25 crore.
 "We have target to expand our reach to 50 crore people in the next five years," he said adding that the Patanjali group is now providing employment opportunities to around two lakh people and a similar number of farmers and would continue to add the numbers in its fold.
 On being asked about the slowdown in the FMCG segment, Ramdev said it was a temporary phase, companies selling luxury products were mainly impacted and companies selling regular household consumption goods such as Patanjali Ayurved and Ruchi Soya were not impacted.
 "Our turnover and brand equity have actually increased. Our market share has also increased," he said adding that there is no plans for listing of Patanjali Ayurved. KRH HRS

However, it seems there is no stopping for Ramdev as his <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=patanjali&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Patanjali</a> leased 1.2 million sq ft of warehousing space across 20 cities. 
 Patanjali wants to double its revenues to Rs 10,000 crore by the end of March 2017. The Ayurveda brand is also working on enhancing its distribution network as it prepares for the roll out of the Goods and Services Tax (<keyword id="6354679" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="GST">GST</keyword>). 
 
“In the last three months, the Baba Ramdev-backed FMCG firm has leased 1.2 million sq ft of modern warehousing space across 20 top cities and will ramp this up to over 2 million sq ft by end of fiscal. We reached turnover of around Rs 5,000 crore at March-end and should reach Rs 10,000 crore by fiscal-end,” Acharya Balkrishna, who is Ramdev's partner in the venture, told ET. 
 
As <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=gst&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">GST</a> is also expected to get passed in Rajya Sabha, Patanjali is also planning for the new tax regime. 
 
“The entire supply chain planning is being done in-house, unlike FMCG firms that hire international consultants to draw up a plan. The company has hired a qualified team,” Balkrishna told ET, adding “the new manufacturing plants are likely to be in Vidharbha, Bundelkhand regions and Assam to tap markets in the Northeast.” 
 
Patanjali is also looking to set up a plant on the Yamuna Expressway near Noida. 
 
Patanjali started with a turnover of around Rs 450 crore in 2011-12 to Rs 2,000 crore in 2014-15 and more than doubling to Rs 5,000 crore at end of March 2016.

Patanjali says it is considering to bid for the title sponsorship of the upcoming Indian Premier League

New Delhi, Nov 19 () Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved on Tuesday said it has achieved a revenue of Rs 3,562 crore in April-September 2019-20, the highest ever in the first half of any financial year.
The Haridwar-based firm has reported a revenue of Rs 1,793 crore in April-June and Rs 1,769 crore in July-September in the ongoing fiscal, a company official said. 
"This is the figure of the Patanjali Ayurved and does not indicate of all business. We have done internal reconstruction and some of the product lines, which were earlier handled by the company have been assigned to different companies," he said.
 The company had reported a revenue of Rs 937 crore and Rs 1,576 crore in June quarter and September quarter of 2018-19, respectively. 
"The most remarkable and noticeable thing is that Patanjali Ayurved has made a comeback. It has achieved the highest ever H1 figure in its history," Patanjali spokesperson S K Tijarawala told .
However, the company did not share the net profit figure.
"In 2018-19, Patanjali Ayurved had alone reported a revenue of Rs 8,329 crore," he said, adding that the group's turnover was much higher than this figure.
On the outlook for the second half of 2019-20, Tijarawala said: "It would be almost double of what we have in H1."
During the last fiscal, he said the company achieved a revenue of Rs 2,388 crore in the third quarter and Rs 3,698 crore in the last quarter.
Patanjali has consolidated and strengthened the supply chain, he said, adding that the group has come out from the negative impact of GST and demonetisation.
"It took us some time to align with the GST system," he added.
Patanjali Ayurved is mainly into FMCG business and its Ayurvedic medicines.
The company's biscuit, noodles, dairy businesses as well as solar panel and apparel businesses are not part of Patanjali Ayurved. KRH ANU

However, diminishing returns soon kicked in. The company recorded a minimal growth in sales in the last financial year. (Eds: Updates with Ayush Ministry statement) Haridwar/New Delhi, Jun 23 () Yoga guru Ramdev's herbal medicine company Patanjali Ayurved on Tuesday claimed to have discovered a medicine that could cure coronavirus in just seven days - a claim that the Ayush Ministry scoffed at by seeking stopping of advertisements for the drug. While Ramdev claimed that Ayurved-based 'Coronil and Swasari' medicine have shown 100 per cent favourable results during clinical trials on COVID-19 infected patients except those on a life support system, the Ayush Ministry sought from the company detailed report on composition, testing and other data of the drugs. The ministry also used powers under a 1954 law to ask the firm to "stop advertising/publicizing" claims of corona cure drug until the issue is examined by it. A government notification bars companies from advertising a cure without government approval. But it wasn't immediately clear if the drug can still be sold. Talking to , Ramdev said the medicines have been developed by Patanjali Research Center, Haridwar and privately-owned National Institute of Medical Science, Jaipur following all protocols with clinically controlled trial-based evidence. "Patanjali first conducted clinical case study and conducted clinical control trials following all protocols of drug discovery," he said. Sidestepping questions on the drug being approved by government agencies such as ICMR, Ramdev said clinical controlled study of these medicines was done in several cities including Delhi, Ahmedabad and Meerut and the RCT (Randomized Clinical Trial) controlled with placebo was conducted at Jaipur-based National Institute of Medical Sciences &amp; Research. "This was done after getting approval from Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI) and all other required formalities," he said. "We have followed all the parameters set up by modern science for such clinical trials." Reacting to the announcement, the Ministry of Ayush issued a statement saying, "Facts of the claim and details of the stated scientific study are not known" to it. "Patanjali Ayurved Ltd has been asked to provide at the earliest details of the name and composition of the medicines being claimed for COVID treatment; site(s)/hospital(s), where the research study was conducted for COVID-19; protocol, sample size, Institutional Ethics Committee clearance, CTRI registration and results data of the study (ies) and stop advertising/publicizing such claims till the issue is duly examined," the ministry statement said. The ministry also asked the concerned State Licensing Authority of Uttarakhand Government to provide copies of license and product approval details of the Ayurvedic medicines being claimed for the treatment of COVID -19. Under the ministry's guidelines for drug development of ayurvedic formulations, state licensing authority grants licenses for manufacturing any Ayurvedic, Siddha or Unani medicine. Ramdev at a launch press conference in Haridwar, where his company is based, claimed that his ayurvedic drugs have shown 100 per cent favourable results during the clinical trial. "We conducted a clinical case study and clinical controlled trial, and found 69 per cent patients recovered in 3 days and 100 patients recovered in 7 days," he said. According to him, this medicine is useful for prevention from COVID-19 and also for treatment. Claiming that during the trial other complications of patients were also cured and their critical parameters were normalised, he said no infected patient lost his life during the trial. Patanjali, he said, had started to work on corona medicines in December 2019. The Corona kit, priced at Rs 545, would be available pan India within a week. The kit will have medicines for 30 days. Ramdev said the medicines can be ordered online through a mobile app from next Monday. The COVID-19 therapy suggested by Patanjali is applicable for adults ranging between 15-80 years of age whereas children are advised to take half the dosage prescribed for adults. Patanjali's anti-COVID tablet, Divya Coronil Tablet consists of Giloy, Tulsi and Ashwagandha and is prescribed to be taken thrice a day with hot water 30 minutes after breakfast, lunch and dinner. Medical experts, however, were not convinced by the claims. Dr Ravi Shekhar Jha, Head of the department and senior consultant, Pulmonology, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad, said physiologically it is quite impossible that there is any medicine which can finish the viral load from the body in 5-7 days. "These claims can be very harmful because people, instead of taking actual medical help, may start rushing to these kinds of claims which have no proven clinical trial," he told . Instead of taking actual medical help, opting for a "desi nuskha" kind of a thing is just going to result in loss of precious time in curing the disease, Jha said. Noted city-based lung surgeon Dr Arvind Kumar said only a proper clinical trial can prove the efficacy of the medicine. Haridwar-based Patanjali group has an estimated turnover of around Rs 10,500 crore. It had acquired debt-ridden Ruchi Soya in a corporate insolvency resolution process for around Rs 4,350 crore after competing with Adani Group. The main requirement for this kind of loan in the US is that 60% of the funds must be used for payroll and employee benefit,” Rajat Prakash, Managing Partner at Athena Legal, a law firm based in Delhi, told Business Insider. "There is no upper limit on the amount of loans that the bank can issue," Financial Times <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/c1f3507c-f59c-3068-905e-f1ae4938dfe0">reported</a> citing Germany’s finance minister Olaf Scholz. Australia’s wage subsidy for 6 million people While Australia provides a subsidy like in Australia — where the employers can take fortnightly payment for a particular amount per eligible employee. The Australian government said that the wage subsidy scheme will create j<a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/30/australia-to-subsidise-wages-of-up-to-6m-workers-in-130bn-coronavirus-plan">obs for 6 million people in the next six months</a>. That makes it $1,500 per fortnight. The Australian Tax Office will pay the amount to the businesses that have witnessed a sharp decline in turnover and profits. If India replicates... However, it might not be a good idea to implement paycheck protection or unlimited loans. Rishi Agrawal, CEO &amp; Co-Founder of Avantis Regtech, a TeamLease Company, says that India does not need a similar paycheck protection program, rather equip them with a low-cost credit system that maintains credit history and measures creditworthiness. He says that the government should in fact create a process that reduces the cost of credit for those promoters who have great credit behaviour. “Paycheck assumes a high degree of formalisation, strong institutions with checks and balances to prevent misuse and exploitation. In fact, In India if you do Paycheck, NPAs (non performing assets) will go through the roof as people will figure out a network of dummy companies with dummy employees, take loans and 'disburse' them and seek forgiveness,” Agrawal commented.
