<keyword id="21991719" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="passenger-vehicle-exports" source="keywords">Passenger vehicle exports</keyword> from India rose by 2.68 lakh units in the last four financial years with <keyword id="19931193" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Maruti Suzuki India" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="Maruti Suzuki India">Maruti Suzuki India</keyword> accounting for nearly 70 per cent of the <keyword id="21991720" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="incremental-shipments" source="keywords">incremental shipments</keyword> during the period. As per the industry data, passenger vehicle exports in the 2020-21 fiscal stood at 4,04,397 units. It rose to 5,77,875 units in the 2021-22 fiscal year and to 6,62,703 units in 2022-23 financial year. Last fiscal, exports stood at 6,72,105 units, an increase of 2,67,708 units since 2020-21. In the last three fiscal years, <keyword id="19909974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki" source="keywords">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> has accounted for 70 per cent of the incremental 2,67,708 units across the industry which were shipped to overseas markets. The auto major's export shipment increased by 1,85,774 units between FY21 and FY24. When contacted, <keyword id="21223168" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki-india-executive" source="keywords">Maruti Suzuki India Executive</keyword> Officer Corporate Affairs Rahul Bharti said that factors like addition of more models, adherence to global production standards and tie-up with Toyota have helped in ramping up the exports' volume. He noted that the company is currently exporting models to around 100 nations across the globe. Top overseas markets for the company currently are South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Chile and Mexico. Other major markets include the Philippines, Indonesia and Ivory Coast. MSI exports models like Baleno, Dzire, Swift, S-Presso, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Celerio and Ertiga. As per SIAM data, overall <keyword id="21991650" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="PV-exports" source="keywords">PV exports</keyword> stood at 6,72,105 units in FY24, an increase of 1.4 per cent over 6,62,703 units in FY2023. MSI exported 2,80,712 units last fiscal, an increase of 10 per cent over 2,55,439 units in FY23. Rival Hyundai shipped 1,63,155 units in FY24 as compared with 1,53,019 units in FY23, an increase of 7 per cent.

Passenger vehicle exports from <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> rose 15 per cent in FY23 with Maruti Suzuki India leading the segment with dispatches of over 2.5 lakh units, as per the latest data by industry body SIAM. The total passenger vehicle (PV) exports stood at 6,62,891 units in 2022-23 fiscal as compared to 5,77,875 units in 2021-22. Passenger car shipments saw a 10 per cent growth at 4,13,787 units, while utility vehicle exports rose 23 per cent at 2,47,493 units during the last fiscal, the data by the <keyword id="1577311" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="society-of-indian-automobile" source="Orion">Society of Indian Automobile</keyword> Manufacturers (SIAM) showed. Exports of vans, however, declined to 1,611 units last fiscal, from 1,853 units in the 2021-22 fiscal year. Maruti Suzuki India (<keyword id="6392170" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="msi" source="Orion">MSI</keyword>) led the exports last fiscal in the passenger vehicle segment. It was followed by Hyundai Motor India and Kia India. MSI, the country's largest carmaker, exported 2,55,439 PVs last fiscal, an 8 per cent increase as compared to 2,35,670 units in the 2020-21 fiscal year. The carmaker exports to various markets, including Latin America, ASEAN, Africa, the Middle East and neighbouring regions. Hyundai Motor India's overseas dispatches stood at 1,53,019 units last fiscal, up 18 per cent from 1,29,260 units in 2021-22. Similarly, Kia India exported 85,756 units across global markets in the period under review as compared to 50,864 units in 2021-22. <keyword id="148574" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="nissan-motor-india" source="Orion">Nissan Motor India</keyword> shipped 60,637 units; Renault India 34,956 units; <keyword id="6361865" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="volkswagen" source="Orion">Volkswagen</keyword> India 27,137 units in FY23. Honda Cars India exported 22,710 units, while Mahindra &amp; Mahindra chipped in with 10,622 units in the 2022-23 fiscal. Passenger vehicle exports from India rise 15% in FY23; Maruti Suzuki leads segment

The <keyword id="44717" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Automobile">automobile</keyword> industry in the country ran at an impressive pace in November 2014. It produced a total of 1,994,248 vehicles-- including <keyword id="410427" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="passenger-vehicles">passenger vehicles</keyword>, <keyword id="6390018" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="commercial-vehicles">commercial vehicles</keyword>, three wheelers, and two wheelers--in the month under review as compared to 1,774,474 units in November 2013, suggests data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (<keyword id="108827" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="SIAM">SIAM</keyword>). 
 
The SIAM also revealed that the industry registered a growth of 12.39% over the same month last year. 
 In April-November 2014, the <keyword id="184010" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="domestic-sales">domestic sales</keyword> of passenger vehicles surged by 2.68% against the same period last year. If we look within the passenger vehicles segment, passenger cars and utility vehicles grew by 3.82% and 5.24% respectively. On the other hand, sales of vans declined by (-) 13.70% in April-November 2014 as compared to the same period last year. 
 
In addition to that, the domestic sales of three wheelers sales registered a growth of 14.20% in April-November 2014 against the same period last year. Notably, passenger and goods carriers witnessed an upward trend by 15.49% and 8.46% respectively during the same period as against April-November 2013. 
 
If we look at the sales of two wheeler segment, it registered growth of 11.84% in April-November 2014 as against the same period last year. Its is worth noting that within this segment, scooters, motorcycles and mopeds grew by 28.19%, 6.58% and 9.84% respectively . 
 Talking about the exports in April-November 2014, overall <keyword id="2575515" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Automobile-exports">automobile exports</keyword> grew by 21.31% over the same period last year. Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, Three Wheelers and Two Wheelers grew by 2.7%, 14.26%, 21.45% and 27.04% respectively during the period under review as compared to April-November 2013.

Indian Automobile Industry Witnesses An Upward Trend In November 2014

<keyword id="20185535" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="automobile-exports" source="keywords">Automobile exports</keyword> from <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="India" source="keywords">India</keyword> rose 15.5 per cent year-on-year in the June quarter with all verticals, barring three-wheelers, recording <keyword id="19910261" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="growth" source="keywords">growth</keyword> in <keyword id="20103884" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shipments" source="keywords">shipments</keyword>, according to the latest SIAM data. Overall shipments stood at 11,92,577 units in the first quarter the current fiscal year, as compared with 10,32,449 units in the same period of the last fiscal. <keyword id="20163833" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="passenger-vehicle" source="keywords">Passenger vehicle</keyword> exports stood at 1,80,483 units in the first quarter, registering a jump of 19 per cent over 1,52,156 units in the same period last year. <keyword id="19909974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki" source="keywords">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> India led the space with shipments of 69,962 units in the period under review. It exported 62,857 units in the first quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal. <keyword id="20190176" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-Motor" source="keywords">Hyundai Motor</keyword> India exported 42,600 units in the April-June period. It had shipped 35,100 units in the same period last year. <keyword id="22405152" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="two-wheeler-exports" source="keywords">Two-wheeler exports</keyword> stood at 9,23,148 units in the first quarter, up 17 per cent as against 7,91,316 units in the year-ago period. <keyword id="20032571" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="commercial-vehicle" source="keywords">Commercial vehicle</keyword> shipments rose 8 per cent year-on-year to 15,741 units in the first quarter as compared with 14,625 units a year earlier. Three-wheeler shipments, however, saw a drop of 3 per cent year-on-year to 71,281 units in the April-June period this year as against 73,360 units in the year-ago period. SIAM President SIAM Vinod Aggarwal said it is a good sign for the industry that exports have started doing well. "I think that's a very good sign that exports seem to have bottomed out, especially in the commercial vehicle segment... we have started seeing the growth from the first quarter this year," he noted. Till last year, there was a huge drop in the export volume of trucks and buses, he added. "But <keyword id="20501879" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Q1" source="keywords">Q1</keyword> has been good even for two-wheelers and passenger vehicles. We are very positive that exports have started to recover," Aggarwal said. Automobile exports from India had declined 5.5 per cent in FY24 due to the monetary crisis in various overseas markets. Overall exports stood at 45,00,492 units in the last fiscal year as compared with 47,61,299 units in FY23.

Automobile exports from India rise 15.5% in Q1

New Delhi, Jan 1 () Mahindra &amp; Mahindra Ltd on Wednesday reported a 1 per cent rise in automobile sales in December 2019, as a rise in passenger and utility vehicles offset a dip in commercial vehicle sales.
 In a regulatory filing, M&amp;M, a part of the USD 20.7 billion Mahindra Group, said domestic auto sales came at 37,081 units in December as compared to 36,690 vehicles sold a year back.
 Passenger vehicles clocked 4 per cent rise in sales to 15,691 while utility vehicles posted 10 per cent rise to 15,225.
 Commercial vehicle sales, however, slipped 5 per cent to 16,018 reflecting a slowdown in the economy and rural consumption.
 Exports were also down 30 per cent at 2,149 and they pulled down the overall M&amp;M December sales by 1 per cent to 39,230 units.
 During April-December, domestic sales were down 11 per cent at 3.6 lakh units reflecting a slowdown in the auto sector witnessed during the first half of the current fiscal. Together with declining exports, total sales were down 12 per cent to 3.8 lakh vehicles in April-December.
 In the Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, cars and vans), Mahindra sold 15,691 vehicles in December 2019, compared to 15,091 vehicles in December 2018.
 In the commercial vehicles segment, the company sold 16,018 vehicles in December 2019, as against 16,906 vehicles in December 2018.
 In the medium and heavy commercial vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 478 vehicles for the month.
 "Our performance in the month of December is as per year-end sales outlook and currently we are also comfortable with our overall stock levels. As we get into the new year, we are fully equipped to roll out our BSVI products and have taken all requisite measures for a smooth transition over the next three months," M&amp;M Ltd Chief of Sales and Marketing, Automotive Division Veejay Ram Nakra said. M&M posts 1 pc rise in auto sales in Dec

Car makers on Saturday said they closed March logging growth in their sales volume as compared to the number of units sold during March 2016. 
 Market leader <keyword id="6363602" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki-India-Ltd">Maruti Suzuki India Ltd</keyword> in a regulatory filing in BSE said it sold 139,763 units (domestic 127,999 units, exports 11,764 units) in March up from 129,343 units (domestic 118,895 units, exports 10,450 units) sold during March 2016. 
 
For the whole of last fiscal the company sold 15,68,603 units up from 14,29,248 units sold in 2015-16. 
 On its part <keyword id="990272" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ford-India-Pvt-Ltd">Ford India Pvt Ltd</keyword> said it sold a total of 24,832 units in March up from 21,198 units sold in March 2016. 
 The Japanese-Indian car making joint venture <keyword id="118748" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Toyota-Kirloskar-Motor">Toyota Kirloskar Motor</keyword> sold 13,796 units in the domestic market and shipped out 636 units of the Etios series in March. 
 
The company had sold 7,637 units in the domestic market and exported 1,370 units of the Etios series in March 2016. 
 "With the end of this financial year, we are happy to announce that <keyword id="6374528" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Toyota">Toyota</keyword> has registered a growth of 12 per cent when compared to the last financial year. This has been possible with the launch of our two new products, the <keyword id="3231108" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Innova-Crysta">Innova Crysta</keyword> and the new Fortuner," N.Raja, Director and Senior Vice President - Sales &amp; Marketing, said.

 <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> passenger and commercial vehicle total sales (including exports) in March 2017 were at 57,145 vehicles, higher by 8% over 53,057 vehicles sold in March 2016. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for March 2017 were at 51,309, higher by 10%, over 46,701 nos., in March 2016. 
 
Cumulative sales (including exports) of the company for the fiscal was at 542,561, higher by 6% over 511,705 vehicles, sold last year.

With the festive season on, car makers, leading <keyword id="6363602" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki-india-ltd" source="Orion">Maruti Suzuki India Ltd</keyword>, closed October with good sales numbers. However, the shortage of electronic components had put brakes on overall sales. According to <keyword id="44883" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki" source="Orion">Maruti Suzuki</keyword>, it had sold a total of 167,520 units (domestic 143,250 units, sales to other car makers 3,822, exports 20,448 units) in October 2022 up from 138,335 units (domestic 112,788 units, sales to other car makers 4,225 units, exports 21,322 units). Hyundai Motor India Ltd sold 58,006 units (domestic 48,001 units, exports 10,005 units) last month as against 43,556 units (domestic 37,021 units, exports 6,535 units) sold in October 2021. Utility vehicle major Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd said it had sold 32,298 passenger vehicles last month in the domestic market, up from 20,130 units sold in October 2021. On the other hand, Tata Motors Ltd said it had sold 45,423 passenger vehicles last month (34,155 units sold in October 2021). Interestingly for Nissan Motor India, exports outnumbered its domestic sales last month. The company had sold a total of 10,011 units out of which exports were 6,950 units and domestic sales were 3,061 units. Indian car makers drove good sales in October in spite of component shortage

New Delhi, Jan 19 () Passenger vehicle (PV) exports from India increased by 5.89 per cent in the first nine months of the current fiscal, with Hyundai Motor leading the segment with dispatches of around 1.45 lakh units, as per the latest data by SIAM.
PV exports stood at 5,40,384 units in the April-December period of the current fiscal as compared with 5,10,305 units in the same period of 2018-19.
Car shipments saw 4.44 per cent growth at 4,04,552 units, while utility vehicle exports saw a rise of 11.14 per cent at 1,33,511 units during the April-December period, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers' data showed.
However, vans witnessed a 17.4 per cent decline in exports at 2,321 units during the period under review as compared with 2,810 units in the same period last fiscal.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) led the segment, followed by Ford India and Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) at the second and third positions, respectively.
The South Korean automaker exported 1,44,982 units to overseas markets during the period under review, up 15.17 per cent over the same period last fiscal.
The company exports vehicles to over 90 countries across Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia and Asia Pacific.
"With cumulative sales of 1,44,982 units and a market share of 26.8 per cent from April-December, Hyundai has once again maintained its leadership position in the exports market with its super performer brands," Hyundai Motor India MD and CEO S S Kim said. 
The company will continue this positive momentum in 2020 with more world-class products adding meaningful moments for global customers, he added. 
Ford India's foreign dispatches stood at 1,06,084 units during the April-December period, down 12.57 per cent from a year-ago period. On the other hand, domestic car market leader MSI exported 75,948 units across global markets, down 1.7 per cent from same period last year.
Nissan Motor India shipped out 60,739 units during the period, up 39.97 per cent from same period last fiscal. Similarly, General Motors India, which has ceased selling vehicles in the domestic market, shipped out 54,863 units during the period.
Volkswagen India exported 47,021 units in April-December period, followed by Kia Motors India which dispatched 12,496 units. Renault India shipped out 12,096 units during the period.
Home-grown auto major Mahindra &amp; Mahindra exported 10,017 units, while
Toyota Kirloskar Motor dispatched 8,422 units during the period. Honda Cars India exported 3,316 units to global markets.

New Delhi [India], February 26 (<keyword id="19904948" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ani" source="keywords">ANI</keyword>): Passenger vehicle volume is expected to ascend to a new peak for the third straight time next financial year, growing 5-7 per cent on a high base of 6-8 per cent estimated for the current year ending March 2024, according to <keyword id="19955699" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="crisil-ratings" source="keywords">Crisil Ratings</keyword>. This ascend is expected as sport utility vehicles (SUVs) race ahead even as demand for cars and exports remain muted. Healthy volume growth of the SUV segment, which enjoys higher margin, will steer an improvement in operating margin to 11.5-12.5 per cent next financial year, the rating agency said on Monday. Better cash generation, along with strong balance sheet and robust liquidity will support funding of sizeable capital expenditure to set up additional capacity, keeping credit profiles of passenger vehicle makers stable, the agency said. A significant change in consumer preference has cranked up demand for SUVs leading to its market share doubling to 60 per cent of total domestic volume this fiscal from 28 per cent before the pandemic in fiscal 2019. This preference is expected to further grow backed by a healthy pipeline of new model launches across price points, including electric variants, and normalised availability of semiconductors after a prolonged period of short supply. "While the overall PV volume is seen rising 5-7 per cent next fiscal, we expect demand for SUVs to accelerate at twice the pace at over 12 per cent driven by array of feature-laden launches at competitive price points, varied technology options including hybrid and electric, and increased access to credit," said <keyword id="19898319" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="anuj-sethi" source="keywords">Anuj Sethi</keyword>, Senior Director, CRISIL Ratings. In contrast, demand for cars is seen slowing this fiscal too due to the ongoing weakness in the rural market and lower affordability at the entry level. The cost of vehicles has risen in the past 3-4 years as manufacturers have been passing on higher commodity prices and have had to comply with more stringent regulations on safety and emissions. The situation is similar on the exports front. The share of passenger exports is estimated to have slowed to 14 per cent this fiscal compared with 17 per cent in fiscal 2019, mainly due to inflationary headwinds and limited availability of foreign exchange in key export markets -- <keyword id="19968988" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="latin-america" source="keywords">Latin America</keyword>, south-east <keyword id="19915288" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="asia" source="keywords">Asia</keyword> and Africa -- in the past two years. "This trend is expected to continue next fiscal," Crisil Ratings said. But increasing share of SUVs with higher realisations, along with stable commodity prices and full benefit of price hikes executed last fiscal have resulted in operating margin expansion of manufacturers by 200 basis points (100 basis points is equal to 1 percentage point) to 11.0 per cent this fiscal.
