Paradeep Phosphates IPO opens today — GMP already at ₹3 per share

The government has raised over Rs 4.04 lakh crore through disinvestment and strategic sale of public sector enterprises since the Modi government came into power in 2014, the <keyword id="47209" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="finance-ministry" source="Orion">Finance Ministry</keyword> said on Tuesday. Of this, the largest amount totalling over ₹1.07 lakh crore through offer for sale in 59 cases. This was followed by a stake sale through <keyword id="181067" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="exchange-traded-fund" source="Orion">Exchange Traded Fund</keyword> (ETF) in 10 tranches, aggregating to ₹98,949 crore. Strategic sales in 10 companies, including <keyword id="2573" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="air-india" source="Orion">Air India</keyword>, yielded Rs 69,412 crore to the exchequer in the last 8 years. Share buyback in 45 cases fetched ₹45,104 crore. 17 CPSEs were listed since 2014-15, which yielded Rs 50,386 crore. It’s one of the best performing stocks on listing day as the stock exchanges in general are on an upswing. While BSE Sensex is trading 340 points higher than the last close, NIFTY gained 106 points higher in early trade. The market capitalisation of the company stands at ₹3,730 crore, according to BSE data. The listing gains are much higher than what the unofficial grey market has accounted for – a mere 50 paise premium. The IPO was oversubscribed 1.75 times by investors. Retail investors had oversubscribed the IPO by 1.37 times. The financial terms of the transaction are confidential, the company said. The portfolio comprises food supplements including minerals, vitamins and adjuvants as well as cosmetics and medical devices used for maintaining urinary tract health. The product line — that was founded a decade ago — has 12 stock keeping units (SKU) with an annualized revenue of $8.7 million as of February 2022. "We are excited to add Uractiv to our consumer healthcare portfolio in Romania. This acquisition is in line with our strategy to further expand our non-prescription product basket in Romania and neighbouring markets,” said Aalok Shanghvi, EVP and head generic R&amp;D, Generic Global BD and Emerging Markets, Sun Pharma. Shanghvi also noted that Sun Pharma has a strong presence in Romania through Terapia leading the generic and over-the-counter (OTC) market. The company plans to leverage its marketing and distribution strengths to further grow these brands. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and necessary regulatory approvals. Sun Pharmaceuticals is one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in India and has a presence across 100 countries across the globe. The other macro indicators that came in after too haven’t been encouraging, making experts predict a ‘series of steps’ that would tighten liquidity in the system. Analysts had since given up hopes of a strong listing price. “We anticipate that LIC might have a flat listing tomorrow, based on the current market situation. Due to increased inflation statistics, FII outflows, currency weakness, geopolitical and rate hike-related worries, present markets are experiencing extraordinary volatility, this has caused sell-offs in equity markets all over the world,” Aayush Agrawal, senior analyst at Swastika Investmart said on May 16. Further, analysts had said that there would be some selling pressure in the shares of LIC as retail investors who have been allotted the stock may rush to sell them. “LIC IPO initially may see some selling pressure as all the retail investors have received the allotment. Looking at the cheap valuations of LIC as compared to other listed players offers comfort and investors with a longer time horizon can hold or buy more,” Yash Gupta, equity research analyst at Angel One. The IPO, which opened between May 4-9, received bids for 47 crore shares as against 16 crore shares on offer. It was subscribed 2.95 times on the last day of the bidding. Sensex up by 0.8% in morning trade, all eyes set on LIC listing

The IPO consists of ₹472 crore including a fresh issue of equity shares worth ₹375 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 11.08 lakh equity shares by the promoters and shareholders of the company. The IPO proceeds will be used towards repayment of debt, funding working capital, capex for establishing new stores and upgrading existing stores. The company has a portfolio of 50 premium and luxury watch brands like Omega, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger LeCoultre, Panerai, Bvlgari, H. Moser &amp; Cie, Rado, Longines, Baume &amp; Mercier, Oris SA, Corum, Carl F. Bucherer, Tissot, Raymond Weil, Louis Moinet and Balmain. The sector which contributed the least to job creation was procurement and the trade sector at a mere 0.3% share in the jobs created in the last financial year. “The economy has seen a severe downturn in the past two years and it started to show a positive development trajectory, India’s hiring industry has seen quarter-on-quarter growth, with startups hiring in significant numbers and creating huge employment opportunities,” said Raj Das, Global co-founder &amp; CEO of Hirect India. Hiring in white collar jobs started to recoup after being disrupted by the pandemic's second wave in April 2021. “After a sharp decline in April and a flattening out in May, India's hiring trends hit a high in June, progressing across various industries,” the report said. IT professionals with 5-10 year experience are the best paid people in India

The angel investor Gergely Orosz, a software engineer and an author, wrote an email to investors of the company alleging that Maheshwari had earlier said he would leave the company but has now gone back on his word. He also accused Maheshwari of wanting ‘more equity than vested’. “Manish has been bullying Tanay [Pratap, co-founder and CTO of Invact] into silence, threatening to use the company funds of $1.7M - including our angel investment money - to sue him, should Tanay speak ill of him in public. This broke the straw with me, as that includes my money: which I never invested to be used as an instrument of a co-founder bullying the other one,” Orosz said in the email accessed by Business Insider. Earlier this week, Maheshwari announced that he is considering winding down his latest venture <keyword id="13123458" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="invact-metaversity" source="Orion">Invact Metaversity</keyword> — a higher education platform set up in the metaverse — barely six months of its launch. I talked with employees and Tanay, and learned a few unsettling things: <ul><li>Manish lied to his team. He polled the team at Invact what the best next steps for the company should be on 29th April. The team suggested he leave, Tanay take over. Manish agreed he will do this. However, later walked back on his agreement. He told the team his principles don't allow him to step down.</li></ul><ul><li>Manish has been bullying Tanay into silence, threatening to use the company funds of $1.7M - including our angel investment money - to sue him, should Tanay speak ill of him in public. He blames this on his la</li></ul>The situation of the company is this from what I observed: <ul><li> All employees have full trust in Tanay to take on the company and build their product that is impressive, given only four months of development. Internally, Manish praised the product, and the progress to the team, as I confirmed talking with employees. The team was shocked that Manish talked down their product in public, as he was preparing his exit.</li><li>No current employees trust Manish to stay. They feel he has misled them too many times. I have talked with most of them to confirm this is the case.</li></ul><ul><li>Named investors support Manish leaving the company on fair terms, and Tanay and team continuing to execute.</li><li>Manish is keeping the company hostage. He controls the majority of votes and is refusing to sign agreements which he confirmed he would sign to leave. Named investors and employees all want him to leave, taking fair terms. In a strange way, everyone's hands are tied until he steps down.</li></ul>I decided to step in to see if I can resolve conflicts, using my public presence to get Manish to agree to a call. Manish took a call with me to address the situation, where he lied to me, and walked back on our agreement shortly after. On this call - that I have recorded, fearing what would happen on Manish denying his words. Manish said that the only thing keeping him from taking the buyout offer is if he gets to keep his vested shares. He said he does not want anything else: no cash, no nothing else. I agreed to both remove my public mentions of him, and to help make this happen on the condition that he signs. The named investors updated the contract. I removed all public mentions. I kept my side of the deal. Manish then refused to sign and walked back on all we agreed on. He now asks for more equity than he vested, a significant amount of cash - which he told me he would never do - and a board seat. I have since learned Manish uses this tactic of agreeing, then walking back on his co-founder, the employees and the investors. I am lost for words, and shocked at how the former Head of Twitter India does not honour his promises, and how he is only looking out for his own, personal interests. His actions are hurting investors - he wants to take our cash for himself - it's hurting employees, and hurting future customers. We are here: negotiations are frozen between named investors, after Manish walking back on an offer said would be good enough for him. The named investors are weighing the interest of the company, employees, investors and have offered a package that is more than fair, given the situation. We are all waiting on Manish to act like a professional does: keep his word, and sign a deal he agreed he would sign. I ask you to do at least one of this: <ul><li>Call Manish and ask him to act reasonably. Take the offered fair package that he has told me several times, in person, that he is happy with: his vested shares and nothing else. He has an agreement ready to sign. He has lost all support from his employees, misrepresented the value of the company, and is misleading named investors. Still, he asks for more shares than vested, cash - which the company needs - and a board seat to leave? All after confirming he will not ask for any of this? One that I have proof of that he said so.</li><li>Call Tanay and offer him support. Tanay is not talking with anyone in public, fearing Manish suing him using our investor money, and bullying him emotionally. No one should have to go through this, not from their fellow co-founder. Not if that co-founder has a reputation like Manish had until now.</li><li>Talk to names investors if you need more clarity. The named investors are fully behind Tanay, and are also in shock at how unprofessional Manish is acting.
