New Delhi, Jan 1 () State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) has begun an exercise to shed excess cost at the Mumbai offshore oil and gas fields of Panna-Mukta whose control it regained after two and half decades and has already saved Rs 1 crore in the shipping cost. 
<p> ONGC has changed the contract for bringing oil produced from the fields lying in the Arabian Sea to land, resulting in saving of about USD 5,000 per day, sources with direct knowledge of the development said.
</p><p>It is expecting an upside in production too after a re-appraisal.
</p><p>Sources said the previous operators, Shell India and Reliance, had engaged a floating storage and transportation vessel from Mercator Ltd for shipping oil.
</p><p> Soon after taking over the field last month, ONGC changed the shipper to state-owned Shipping Corporation Ltd, resulting in saving of about USD 5,000 per day, they said adding the saving totals to Rs 1 crore-plus.
</p><p>Sources said the company will lay a small undersea pipeline soon to completely do away with the requirement of hiring ships for transporting oil to land.
</p><p> ONGC had originally discovered the Panna-Mukta and Tapti (PMT) oil and gas fields in the Arabian Sea off the Mumbai coast in the early 1990s. These were however taken away from the company and in 1994 awarded to a consortium of US energy giant Enron and Reliance Industries Ltd. ONGC as a government nominee was given 40 per cent back-in rights.
</p><p> Enron during its bankruptcy was taken over by BG Group of UK in 2003. BG Group's interest was subsequently taken over by Shell in 2016.
</p><p> The 25-year production sharing contracts for the PMT fields expire this week and Reliance and Shell had decided not to seek an extension for Panna-Mukta fields, resulting in them being reverted to ONGC on December 21, 2019.
</p><p> Reliance and Shell-owned BG Exploration and Production India Ltd (BGEPIL) held 30 per cent stake each in PMT.
</p><p> The Tapti fields had ceased production earlier in 2016 and the Tapti process platform facilities were handed over to ONGC (Government of India nominee) in 2016.
</p><p> Sources said ONGC sees an upside in oil and gas production from the Panna-Mukta field which it will firm up after doing a reappraisal of the reserves.
</p><p> The fields produce about 10,000 barrels of oil per day and 4 million standard cubic meters per day of natural gas.
</p><p> The production sharing contracts (PSC) for the Panna-Mukta and Tapti fields, which were executed by the PMT JV with the Government of India in 1994, expired on December 21, 2019.
</p><p> Decommissioning and site restoration of residual Tapti facilities, including five unmanned platforms and in-field pipelines, are being carried out by the PMT JV under India's first offshore decommissioning and site restoration project.

New Delhi, Dec 20 () After operating Panna-Mukta oil and gas fields for 25 years, Royal Dutch Shell and Reliance Industries will revert the western offshore fields back to state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), the companies said in a statement.
<p> Panna-Mukta and Tapti (PMT) oil and gas fields in the Arabian Sea off the Mumbai coast were in 1994 awarded a consortium of US energy giant Enron and Reliance. ONGC, which had originally discovered the fields, as a government nominee given 40 per cent back-in rights.
</p><p> Enron during its bankruptcy was taken over by BG Group of UK in 2003. BG Group's interest was subsequently taken over by Shell in 2016.
</p><p> The 25-year production sharing contracts for the PMT fields expires this week and Reliance and Shell had decided not to seek an extension for Panna-Mukta fields.
</p><p> "After 25 years of operating the Panna-Mukta oil and gas fields, the Panna-Mukta and Tapti Joint Venture partners will be handing over the Panna-Mukta oil and gas fields back to the Government of India's (GOI) nominee i.e. ONGC on December 21, 2019," a joint statement issued by Reliance and Shell said.
</p><p> Reliance and BG Exploration and Production India Ltd (BGEPIL) hold 30 per cent stake each in PMT while the balance 40 per cent is with ONGC.
</p><p> "The production sharing contracts (PSC) for the Panna-Mukta and Tapti fields, which were executed by the PMT JV with the Government of India in 1994, will expire on December 21, 2019," it said.
</p><p> The Tapti fields had ceased production earlier in 2016 and the Tapti process platform facilities were handed over to ONGC (GOI nominee) in 2016.
</p><p> Decommissioning and site restoration of residual Tapti facilities, including five unmanned platforms and in-field pipelines, are currently being carried out by the PMT JV under India's first offshore decommissioning and site restoration project.
</p><p> The Tapti decommissioning and other commercial activities would continue in BGEPIL even after Panna-Mukta handover, as per the statement.

"This time of year we normally have about 8,000 visitors arrive every single day, and I think it's down to 1,500 now."</p><p>Phillips said that the wildfires would affect Maui's entire economy, which relied on tourism.</p><p>He said "tourists have to start coming back soon" before the local economy suffered long-term harm. </p><p>The business owner said he'd already had to close one restaurant and make layoffs as it was losing $5,000 a day.</p><p>Phillips also urged the state of Hawaii to step in and provide unemployment assistance as it did during the coronavirus pandemic. </p><p>Tour company <a target="_blank" href="https://epicmauihikes.com/">Epic Maui Hikes</a> told Insider in an email that it was "scary to see our calendars get more and more empty" as customers had canceled all their bookings through to the end of the year. </p><p>"We've sent countless refunds, our business was not prepared for this, and we just hope that we will survive this," the company said, adding that its guides have been donating supplies to people in need.<br /><br />"Lahaina is closed, there is no point in traveling there right now, it needs time to recover. "It did, in the perfect storm of intense wind and drought and we are horrified at the consequences. Everyone you speak to has a story of loss. Everyone you speak to has a story of heroism."</p><p>She said tourists should still visit Maui but asked them to "be respectful," saying she didn't want people to take photos of where their homes and businesses once stood and make them talk about their pain and losses.</p><p>Destination wedding photographer Tara Lee Murphy also said tourists were "welcome here with open arms."<br /><br />"We ask that they shop at local small businesses and eat at local restaurants," she said. "We just ask that they come with Aloha, be respectful. Don't go to the west side of the island, but the rest of the island is open and beautiful as ever. They can go to the beaches in Wailea, drive to Hana, see the waterfalls, go to the top of the crater, go hiking, relax by the pool, watch the sunset, it's all still here." </p>

A Maui restaurant owner is 'praying visitors will start to come back soon'

<ul class="summary-list"><li>I <a href="https://www.insider.com/trying-sci-fi-dine-in-worth-it-families-disney-world-2022-10">dined at Disney World's</a> Via Napoli with my husband and our two kids for about $112. </li><li>I love that the menu is à la carte versus family-style or buffet, and the pizza and pasta were good.</li></ul><p>Even as a travel planner at <a href="http://www.karibeckermarvelousmousetravels.com">Marvelous Mouse Travels</a>, helping people decide which table-service restaurant to go with at Epcot is quite challenging. </p><p>The park has so many great eateries that it's hard to choose. But when my family is looking for a tasty, quick, à-la-carte meal, we often head to Via Napoli.  </p><h2><strong>When you enter the restaurant, it feels like you've stepped into an authentic Italian eatery</strong></h2><p><strong></strong></p><div type="image" title="pizza ovens with faces on the walls of via napoli at disney world epcot world showcase" height="825" width="1098" msid="97380764" hostid="261" sizebytes="63816"></div><p>Via Napoli is situated at the back of the Italy Pavilion in <a href="https://www.insider.com/disney-world-all-you-can-eat-restaurant-biergarten-family-review-2023-1">Epcot's World Showcase</a>. It's not to be confused with its more formal counterpart, Tutto Italia, located next door. </p><p>The atmosphere is more fun and lively at Via Napoli. But the vaulted ceilings can make the restaurant loud, so it's not a <a href="https://www.insider.com/trying-tutto-gusto-near-tutto-italia-disney-world-review-photos-2023-1">quiet place to have dinner</a>.</p><p>The are various dining rooms and the decor is what you'd expect from an Italian place. The hallmark of the restaurant is the large wood-fired ovens cranking out pizzas for hungry customers.  </p><p>The tables are also close together — something I've experienced in Italy — which gave us a great glimpse at our neighbors' food.</p><h2>It's known for its pizza, but it serves several options à la carte</h2><div type="image" title="menu outside of via napoli restaurant at disney world epcot world showcase" height="879" width="1170" msid="97380766" hostid="261" sizebytes="105064"></div><p>I love a <a href="https://www.insider.com/trying-garden-grill-disney-world-family-kids-review-2022-8">good family-style meal</a> or buffet, but sometimes it's nice to have <a href="https://www.insider.com/how-to-save-money-at-disney-world-from-travel-planner-2022-4">à-la-carte options</a>.</p><p>We knew we wanted pizza, but we ordered other items to round out our meal.  </p><p>We shared dishes with our two children, but the restaurant also offers kids a choice of spaghetti, a small pizza, or chicken strips for about $11 each. </p><h2>We started our meal with a light Caesar salad</h2><p>The restaurant <a href="https://www.insider.com/best-and-worst-salads-at-restaurants-chefs">offers two salads</a>, a Caesar and a house, and a variety of appetizers including calamari, arancini, and garlic focaccia. </p><p>We opted for the Caesar salad ($21) as we wanted to save room for pizza. The mezzo is huge, too big for my family of four, so we went with a large pepperoni ($38).</p><p>The kids raved about the pizza, and my husband and I agreed. It had a rich flavor, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Plus it had an authentic taste without being too different for my kids.   </p><h2>I ordered pasta to accompany the pizza</h2><p>The restaurant also serves a number of pasta dishes and other Italian specialties, like chicken Parmesan.</p><p>I'm a sucker for <a href="https://www.insider.com/which-alfredo-sauce-should-i-buy-at-grocery-store-review-photos-2022">cream sauce</a>, so I ordered the cheese tortellini ($29) with sautéed pancetta and sweet peas in a Parmesan cream sauce.</p><p>It was so rich and decadent. The combination of the ingredients was delicious, and I'd definitely order it again. </p><p>The fettuccine and manicotti also looked tasty at the table next to us.</p><h2>We didn't save room for dessert or cocktails</h2><p>We were too full to try dessert, but the Italian-inspired specialties were tempting.</p><p>Next time, I'm saving room for the tiramisu or the panna cotta as well as the sangria flight.</p><h2><strong>Via Napoli is a great, reasonably priced option in Epcot's World Showcase </strong></h2><p><strong></strong></p><div type="image" title="mickey-shaped crushed red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese at via napoli restaurant in epcot" height="823" width="1098" msid="97380770" hostid="261" sizebytes="50752"></div><p>We enjoyed the <a href="https://www.insider.com/be-our-guest-disney-world-with-family-review-2022-6">lively atmosphere</a>, good service, and delicious Italian-inspired fare. Use the tamper to pack the grounds into a puck.</li><li><strong>Attach the portafilter.</strong> Twist and lock the portafilter onto the group head on the espresso machine.</li><li><strong>Pull the shots.</strong> Press the start button or turn the knob on the espresso machine to activate the pump. This will force hot water through the coffee grounds into the cup.</li><li><strong>Drink the espresso.</strong> Immediately drink the espresso on its own, or mix in water, milk, or flavoring for your desired drink.</li></ol><h2><strong>How to make espresso without a machine</strong></h2><p>While an espresso machine will make the ideal shot of espresso, there are a few other methods that can produce comparable results. Stovetop espresso machines, like our top pick, the <a href="https://www.insider.com/guides/kitchen/grosche-milano-moka-pot-review">Grosche Milano</a>, generate one to two bars of pressure to brew a nearly-espresso style of coffee.</p><p>To brew, use cool water to fill the bottom of your Moka pot to just below the purge valve. The grounds go in the basket and should be gently leveled, instead of tamped. You'll want to use grounds that are between espresso (very fine) and drip coffee (medium-coarse) grinds. </p><p>You can brew on a stovetop or a campfire. Place your Moka above a medium-low heat with the lid open. Place a meat thermometer in the hole of the spout and wait for it to begin producing coffee or reach 158-167 degrees Fahrenheit. Next heat the water, boiling one cup for every two tablespoons of grounds. Combine the two into the French press, only pouring in enough hot water to cover the grounds.</p><p>Let the coffee and water sit for a few seconds to allow the coffee to bloom and concentrated flavor extraction to begin. Next, pour in the rest of the water and wait four minutes. After four minutes, steadily and slowly press the plunger of the French press down. Pour the grounds into the AeroPress, and use a cylindrical object such a muddler to tamp them down into the press. Follow that up with the boiling water. Stir the two together and wait 30 seconds. Finally, carefully push the plunger of the AeroPress down until all of the espresso is pushed out.</p><h2><strong>Serving suggestions</strong></h2><p>While drinking espresso on its own is a popular choice, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy it.</p><ul><li><strong>Americano: </strong>To lighten up the concentrated flavor of espresso, add an equal amount of hot water.</li><li><strong>Affogato: </strong>Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or gelato into a small bowl or mug and pour the hot espresso on top for an invigorating sweet treat.</li><li><strong>Cappuccino:</strong> For a creamy coffee drink, pair espresso with equal parts steamed milk and frothed milk on top. <ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="75190" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Nestle">Nestle</keyword> said it would sell its North American <keyword id="15300" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Water">water</keyword> brands to two private equity firms for $4.3 billion.</li><li><keyword id="10776708" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="One-Rock">One Rock</keyword> Capital Partners and Metropoulos &amp; Co. will buy the brands, including Pure Life and Poland Spring.</li><li>Nestle's Perrier, S.Pellegrino, and Acqua Panna brands aren't part of the sale, it said.</li></ul><p>Nestle said on Wednesday it would sell Pure Life and some other struggling North American water brands to two private equity firms for $4.3 billion, as the food giant doubles down on its premium offerings including Perrier.</p><p>The sale, to <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/one-rock-capital-partners-and-metropoulos-co-to-acquire-nestl%C3%A9-waters-north-america-1030089671">One Rock Capital Partners and Metropoulos &amp; Co</a>, includes brands such as Poland Spring, Deer Park, Ozarka, Ice Mountain, Zephyrhills, Arrowhead, and Splash, as well as US office beverage delivery service ReadyRefresh.</p><p>Perrier, S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, which contributed to the growth recovery of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nestle-explores-sale-of-pure-life-as-part-of-water-business-review-2020-6">Nestle's North American water business</a> in the third quarter, are not part of the sale agreement, the company said.</p><p>"This sale enables us to create a more focused business around our international premium brands, local natural mineral waters and high-quality healthy hydration products," CEO Mark Schneider said in a statement.</p><p><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nestle-to-buy-aimmune-therapeutics-for-26-billion-2020-8">Nestle</a>, headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland, said in June last year it was exploring a potential sale of part of its North American water business. Reuters exclusively reported its talks with One Rock Capital earlier this month.</p><p>New York-based One Rock said Dean Metropoulos, founder of Metropoulos &amp; Co, would become Nestle Waters North America's chairman and interim chief executive officer after the deal closes.</p><p>"As a private company, the business is expected to have greater resources and flexibility to drive continued growth, strengthen its existing operations," One Rock partner Kimberly Reed said.</p><p>The <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nestle-water-north-america-ceo-addresses-backlash-2018-12">Nestle Waters North America division</a> has about 7,000 employees in the United States and more than 230 in Canada, according to One Rock.</p><p>One Rock manages about $3.2 billion of committed capital across three flagship funds, according to its website.</p>
